I don't think I will ever have enough words to express how grateful I am to this veterinary team. They saved my baby Ónyx's life. Ónyx was only 9 weeks old when he accidentally swallowed a piece of a treat that became lodged in his airway. We brought him in because his breathing sounded strange, but we could have never imagined how quickly everything would change. The director immediately performed X-rays, and within less than 30 minutes, Ónyx went into respiratory shock. From that moment, I watched the entire team move with an urgency, coordination, and dedication that I will never forget. Everyone ran to help my puppy. Dr. Timberlake had to perform an emergency endoscopy to remove the foreign object from his airway a procedure that carried significant risk for such a tiny, 9-week-old puppy. It was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. Dr. Timberlake successfully removed the object and saved Ónyx's life. Afterward, he remained under constant observation and oxygen support for hours. Dr. Peña was absolutely wonderful as well, and every single assistant treated Ónyx with so much love, gentleness, and respect. They did not leave him alone for even one second. There was always someone watching him, caring for him, and making sure he was safe. As a pet mom standing there terrified and feeling completely helpless, seeing the way this team cared for my baby meant more than I can explain. They didn't treat Ónyx like "just another patient." They treated him like his life mattered. They treated him like the deeply loved baby that he is to us. Because of their knowledge, their quick response, their teamwork, and their dedication, I have my baby home with me today. I can watch him eat, sleep, play, and be his happy little self again. I go back to VEG and the same Dr decides to actually examine him thoroughly and says oh im sorry he did get bit by a snake. I missed it. Really you don't say. I told you this. 4,000$ later and anti venom delayed several hours due to simply not doing a thorough examination I ended up taking him to another vet because he was getting progressively worse and they are only concerned with money. As I was walking out with him they say oh you owe another 698$. They take advantage of people knowing most will do anything for there pet. We were given the diagnosis and options for treatment in a short period of time and they took precautions to keep the stress to a minimum. This is an emergency room and the charges are very high so be prepared for that, but your fur baby will get excellent care. read more

I brought my dog Greta to VEG in the middle of the night around 3 a.m. when her legs suddenly gave out. She was old, and I was scared and exhausted. I called first, and the person who answered was calm, kind, and compassionate, and told me to bring her right in. When I arrived, the doctor was in surgery, but the staff immediately made Greta comfortable and took care of her while we waited. As soon as the doctor was available, he came to see her. He was direct and honest: there were things they could do, but she would not get better. Her nervous system was failing. He didn't pressure me. He asked what I wanted for her. I didn't want Greta to be in pain anymore. He explained the euthanasia process clearly and respectfully. They set up an IV and moved us to a small, quiet room with low lighting and a couch, then gave us privacy so I could say goodbye. When I was ready, the doctor came back and gently gave her the injection. Afterward, they explained my options and let me decide what to do with her body. I chose to take her home. They wrapped her in a blanket, placed her carefully in a bag, and carried her out to my car for me. We didn't even talk about cost until the very end - and I was honestly surprised. The total was $230, which felt more than reasonable given the care, time, and compassion involved. Especially since this all occured in the middle of the night. This was a very difficult moment. VEG handled it with dignity, kindness, and professionalism from start to finish. I'm deeply grateful to the entire team, even though I don't remember names. No stars because no stars were there to help us with our dog who had an aural hematoma on his ear. The staff was elusive and would not answer our questions. We were given two options which were priced out of the park for what they preformed. We did choose the cheaper procedure which I could have done at home. They stuck a syringe in his ear and siphoned the blood out and then sent him on his way with some pain pills. No bandages or drainage for his ear just gave us the dog with his head shaking and blood spewing everywhere. Needless to say before we left the facility his ear started filling up with blood again and it got to a point where it was bigger than when we brought him in to that place! We then brought him to a real veterinary hospital where he got the care and help he needed along with a drain in his ear for less than half the price. It's not about the money it's about the way they treat both people and animals at this place. It's a scam and all about getting you to dig in your wallet at a most volatile time when part of your family needs help and is in pain. Would never visit or recommend these facilities ever!!!! read more

3 month old kitten no symptoms other than fever 106 and terrible lethargy. Any and I mean any competent vet would have immediately tested for parvo. Instead they Gave a "treatment plan" that was over 1200 after doing vitals and listening to her lungs. Took the kitten to another clinic the next day that immediately quarantined her and tested her. POSITIVE FOR PARVO. So now the whole veg waiting room and couch and everywhere but a private room where the cat was allowed to be out, is contaminated forever. This er is a scam. I felt sick about the whole experience. I actually asked hypothetically if they would perform palliative euthanasia. The vet responded We have a lot of payment plans, euthanizing isn't necessary. I said I don't recall asking about the financing options. Incompetent. Very disappointing. read more

Our sweet cat Romeo was suddenly sick. We rushed him in and Veterinary Emergency Group acted quickly and with so much compassion. They got him comfortable, ran tests and took such good care of my senior boy. Unfortunately, it was Romeo's time to go. The staff let us know in the kindest way. They gave us time and space to say goodbye and I will forever be grateful for that opportunity. As someone that's regularly involved in rescue and foster I'm far too familiar with loosing animals and I know that you're not always given the chance to hold, love and cuddle them when they pass. I couldn't have asked for a better place to be, in a quiet room, petting his soft fur as he moved on very peacefully. I'm heart broken but so very thankful for this clinic and the care and compassion they showed when my husband and I needed it the most. If you need Emergency care for your pet I whole heartedly recommend this Veterinary clinic. The clinic is a huge open space so you can stay with your baby the entire time. You can be with them through everything they need done. This alone makes this clinic so worth going to. I was a bit nervous since there were no reviews, but one of the staff members reassured me, and the vet took the time to thoroughly explain everything I needed to know. The cost was reasonable too--about $250 for treatment, which included cleaning his ears, giving him medication for pain and stress, and monitoring him for an hour. After the visit, the vet even texted me to check on my dog, which really showed how much they care. I highly recommend this place, although I hope no pet needs to visit an emergency vet! They were caring & professional in every way. Max's vet Dr Kelley Batten at Atlantic East Animal Clinic recommended for him to get an ultrasound of his intestines, stomach & kidneys due to a reoccurring issue. Dr Batten called VEG & spoke w/the Dr there regarding Max & then arranged for the ultrasound to be done. Just waiting for results.
