    "Burrata" salad.
    Vivek D.

Came here for dinner (before prime time) to wrap up my first day in Madrid. Because of the redeye flight, my meal schedule was kinda screwy so I settled for a vegan spot to lighten things up. More importantly, a salad did the trick. I got the "vegan" burrata salad with tomatoes, bread, and some herbs. Nothing extraordinary, but did the job. There are better options here that I'd try if I had the stomach to do it (literally). Service here was quick and friendly. I'd return if I had a chance or recommend to anyone else.

Exotic vegan options. Ayla was such a friendly host. If you are a vegan food lover and are willing to experiment with taste, then this is the place for you. We sat outdoor. The seating area was private and relaxed. Food came very quick even at busy time. We tried several different entres with varied flavors and taste. I added some siracha sauce and some chilly oil for extra kick. They readily accepted my requests. All of us enjoyed the cuisine. We were so full, hence couldnt try desserts. We will have to come again for that This review is for Vegano Alamo location. Thanks to the team at this facility for putting together such a creative vegan menu !

Not even exaggerating when I say this was the best veggie burger I've ever had. Their menu is small and fresh-tasting, which signals to me that they really prize consistency and taste above having a multitude of options. That's a good thing; what they do is done so well. They seated us pretty quickly without a reservation, and food came out promptly. This would be good for groups of any size.

I live in Los Angeles, the world capitol of vegan food, but this Madrid vegan meal was the best I've ever had. Perfect dairy free burrata and incredible desserts (don't skip the blueberry pear crumble). Excellent service and cute atmosphere. Oh, and delicious wine!

Madrid seems to have quite a vegan food scene. My boyfriend were in the mood for something different after having tapas for 4 days straight, so we looked up what vegan spots were around. Vega was one of the highest rated that was nearby, so we headed there. We went on a Wednesday, and it was already full like 30 minutes after they opened. I am not vegan and neither is my boyfriend, but this was one of our favorite meals in Madrid. I would really recommend going for lunch- they have a set course for about 8-9 euro, which includes an appetizer, a main course, dessert, and wine/beer/drink. It was hand-written on the menu (in English and Spanish), and based on other reviews it seems like this menu changes every day. You will be full! Appetizer: Hummus- delicious. For the mains, I got to try the rice "meatballs" and a zucchini and leek quiche. The meatballs were delicious, but the quiche was incredible. It was so creamy, it was hard to believe there was no milk used. For dessert, we both chose smoothies, but there was also an option for a cake.

Absolutely delicious food at a charming little place on a fairly quiet street. We showed up for dinner right when they opened to ensure we got a table. Very creative menu of Spanish (and other) dishes, many of which are vegan versions of traditional Spanish cuisine. They served a complimentary coconut squash soup that was delicious and a great way to start the meal. We ordered 3 dishes (2 appetizers and 1 main) to share, which was way more than enough for 2 of us. We got the Callos a la madrileña (€9.5), a vegan version of a traditional Spanish dish -- tomato-based with garbanzo beans with oyster mushrooms. We got some bread to soak up the liquid, which was the perfect way to eat this. Rich, flavourful, tangy, tomato-ey, with wonderful textures, not least of which because of the oyster mushrooms. Wonderful dish. The vegan Burrata (€9) was also wonderful -- it's originally a mozzarella dish with cream. I assume this vegan version was made with some kind of blended nut. It's served on black garlic aioli, tomato, almonds and truffle oil. Creamy, beautifully flavoured, and again, great with bread. Sublime stuff. The Arroz negro (black rice) (€13) was fantastic too -- nicely spiced, fairly salty, and interesting textures. It's served with "calamari" -- I guess some kind of mushroom -- which complements the rice well, along with artichokes, asparagus and some sort of creamy aioli. Yet another wonderful dish. Very friendly, English-speaking service, reasonably priced, well-portioned, and a comfortable environment. What a treat this place was. Highly recommended.

Casual eatery in a compact space specializing in plant-based dishes & desserts, plus organic drinks. Food **** What an amazing find! We got the Korma curry, the Brochettes de huera with Japanese rice noodles and the Burrata. All 3 dishes were absolutely superb and the burrata is to die for! Never had vegan mozzarella that tasted so good. Service **** Great service, quick and waiter helped us to decide. Atmosphere **** Very cute and intimate, good for date night. Make sure you make a reservation! Price€€ Good price. Under 15 euros a dish

If you beef a cute place with vegan food and drink, Vega is your place. We used google maps our first night in Madrid and wandered down dark and vacant streets in search of good food. With only a few missed turns, we could not find the street names, we arrived to this warmly lit space and immediately welcomed. The food is unique (says the American) with familiar flavors rendered fresh and delicious.

The burratta is the most delicious dish I've ever tasted. Everything was exceptional but the Burrata is the show stopper.

AMAZING vegan food! I was blown away by the burrata which is totally vegan. Everything we had was delicious! We ordered some of their bread to go with the burrata and it was so good, my friend said they make it there. The raw lasagna was also phenomenal! The croquetas were good too and so was the black rice but it was a bit salty. If you're a vegan or even if you're not, you should try this place!! Also, know that the restaurant is really small so I think you have to make a reservation for dinner.

Left - burrata. Right -ceviche mushrooms. Yummy!!!

We heard so many good things about this place so we had to try. The food wAs very good - we had the burrata and the ceviche - both were amazing!! I still had their flavors in my mouth 3 hours after... The croquettes were also good but heavily fried and the outside actually tasted like falafel. The inside covered for the outside. Please - work on the design. Being vegan and hipster doesn't mean you need to look poor and neglected.

Went for lunch on Saturday. We're lucky to get in without reservation. The place go packed by 2 pm. The food is incredible. It is truly a vegan and vegetarian place ( I am not but my daughter is, so I went alone but was skeptical). After having eaten there, I would recommend this place to non vegetarians as well. The flavors, imagination in combining the ingredients, everything is very fresh. Staff speaks some English. Very friendly staff. There is menu in English. Dogs friendly! ( we had two small dogs with us). We tried root-beat & strawberries gazpacho ( delicious) 5/5, appetizers ( set of three, you choose the combination, we picked wasabi hummus, avocado and aubergine) 5/5, and two (large plates) tapas to share: mushrooms ceviche 4/5 and mushrooms crochet ( I thought 4/5, my daughter thought 5/5). Tiramisu 5/5 and Panacotta 5/5. Will definitely come back

The proprietor spoke a rollicking Spanish accompanied with gestures, so I understood him well enough and followed him to the back. Bypassing the lovely front dining area, I was greeted by a spacious room featuring low seating, bright paintings and ornamentation, and comfortable lighting. I took off my shoes, set them on a shelf, and found a seat to survey the room. There were many decorations, but they didn't clutter. The seats, though low, were quite comfortable. I sat as if I were a lowbent kid inspecting a snail. Yatiri features an a la carte and menu of they day for €11. I went with the latter, ordering Guiso de Lentelas (lentil soup with carrots), Arepa con Berenjena al Graten (arepa topped with eggplant and cheese), and Gelatina de Remolacha (beet jello). The lentils were great, resting at the bottom of their deep bowl. It came with seeded bread, dense, slightly moist. It reminded me of home and my mom's attempted at homemade spelt bread. Then the open faced arepa came. The crunchy corn gave way to a more chewy topping. Dusted with herbs, I enjoyed the eggplant. It was topped with cheese. From the taste, I think it may be faux cheese. The gelatin was the strange one. I didn't know what I ordered and finally looked up remolacha once home. I tried to place the subtle sweetness with that final flavor essence. It makes sense now. Beet! Overall, I had a great time. I want to go back and take some pictures. It seems I found my first blog worthy place in Madrid.

I know this one was exactly 5 months ago, because we touched down in Madrid on New Years Day, and this was the first place we ate (sounds like they've been here for aeons, so I doubt they've changed significantly since January.) My plan when we landed had been to just go down the list I'd made before we left of the best quick food places near our hotel, and eat at the first one that *was* open on New Years. I was worried there wouldn't be any and we'd be eating snacks from a convenience store, but nope! This place was indeed open. Open, and an absolute *madhouse*. I'm not sure if it was just because it was New Years, they were open, and much of the street wasn't, or if they're always this crazy - but it was a decent wait to order, to the point that it wasn't *entirely* clear whether we were even waiting correctly to order, since the line had kind of turned into a blob. Ordering and picking up our food was slightly nerve-wracking with how crowded it was, and there didn't really appear to be anywhere inside to sit, so we figured we'd sit outside at the tables... that we got immediately yelled at for sitting at, because it turns out all the tables right outside their entrance, actually belongs to their next door neighbor. So if I were ever back in Madrid, I *would* totally consider getting food here again, but I'd just probably plan on bringing it back to the hotel, vs what we ended up doing, finding the closest nearby flat non-private surface and eating it standing up in an alley. It definitely felt like a cool historic building inside, though, would've loved to dine in, if it hadn't been wall-to-wall packed, which it sounds like they might just always be. Food was great, though. We shared (this was plenty of food): An order of the cider-braised sausages - wonderful. Bonus, we learned from personal experience, you definitely want to get an order of these sausages, as not only are the sausages themselves delicious, the resulting au jus was also great for dipping the other items into.) An order of the ham and cheese croquettes - pretty tasty, though they did fall apart. Even tastier dipped in sausage juice, though then they *really* fell apart. Worth it though. Didn't look like you got a lot per order, but looks are deceiving - they were *rich*. An order of their famous mushrooms - I was a bit surprised, given the name literally means "the mushroom bar", that they only had a single mushroom dish, though given the sheer volume of that one item they clearly sell nightly, I can see why. Anyway, as a mushroom fan... they were certainly tasty mushrooms, perfectly cooked, but in my opinion, just a bit oversalted. Also had a glass of sangria for 2.50 euro - it is extremely good sangria, though the glass for 2.50 was pretty small. They also sell it for a better price by the larger container, but sadly, while I absolutely loved the European spirit of trusting people to be responsible after leaving with a to-go alcoholic beverage... they don't sell the *larger* sized sangria if you aren't dining in. Was too bad, as I absolutely would have loved twice as much of that sangria, but it clearly wasn't worth standing in a long ordering line a second time for it.
