    Gyro platter

We had some time to kill before a movie at the Regal nearby and looking for something beyond burgers and fries for a quick bite. Glad we spotted this location via Yelp! Clean interior and restroom, fast and efficient service. Prices fair, some items slightly on the higher side but not wildly so. I had the gyro platter, my wife the falafel platter. I thought the platters came w/ fries, but they came w/ a side salad (and in my case, rice). All good--that healthier option hit the spot. My gyro meat was delicious, the sauce good, the rice great. While my platter was comparable to what you'd get from a similar order at many mediteranean style restaurants, my wife's falafel was even better--we've eaten a lot of the stuff in our time and I seriously think this might have been one of the best. It was just up a notch and not generic falafel. I'd try the pizza and/or some of the other items if I'm back this away again.

My girlfriend and I stopped into this Egyptian restaurant to check it out and found their menu very interesting. We settled on the meat pie with fries and it was delicious. The beef in it was spicy but not over powering. The fries were very good. Overall we truly enjoyed our meal.

Horrible Tzatziki sauce that was 1.69 for this small thing.....

Let's start with the tzatziki sauce...it was a disappointment because it taste like bottled ranch or blue cheese. Had no dill nor cucumbers as to what traditional tzatziki sauce would have. The pizza i was so mad about because it was 11.99 and so small. The dough was a naan bread of course and by the time i got home it was so soggy and disgusting. I had to pick the meat off of it. I could've went to lil Caesar's and got a more affordable bigger pizza. I'm used to eaten middle Eastern food and was shocked to see that the rice was Goya yellow rice and not basmati rice with saffron or turmeric. The chef in me was disappointed about this whole meal. I really wanted to like it after moving to Clarksville and not seeing a lot of diversity food. I'm scared to even try anything else from here. And the little side salad that was served with the chicken shish kebab food was idk how many days old. The tomatoes were so wilted and the cucumbers and onions were translucent. I didn't even bother eating it. The naan bread and the tabbouleh salad was yummmmyyyyy and tasted fresh .

Wow. What a friendly place.. The lamb shank was as big as my head! Delicious hummus (would have liked a little more) Got an order to go. Can't wait to try more items from the menu.

First, I want to say I really don't understand some of the other reviews. Who goes to an Egyptian restaurant and orders a Philly cheesesteak or chicken tenders? Those reviews should just be ignored. Philomena is a casual diner where you order at the counter, and they will bring your food to you. The owner and employees were all super nice and chatted with us. The Hawawshi is Egypt answer to the hamburger - seasoned ground beef stuffed into bread, and here it was grilled. Very nice flavors. The Koshari is listed as a side, but it's big enough to be its own meal - a bed of rice topped with pasta, tomato sauce, chickpeas, and fried onions. A very unique combination. The Chicken Shawarma was also huge, and messy. Great grilled chicken, veggies and sauces. The hummus here is the best one I've found in the area, with a nice little kick to it that you won't find elsewhere. They also have a good selection of Egyptian drinks and desserts. If you want a Philly, go somewhere else - but if you actually want try Egyptian food, you owe it to yourself to visit.

We made a special visit to Osh to try them on a weekend trip to Nashville about a month ago. I'd…read moresaved them in my Nashville bookmarks for some time after they received a lot of acclaim on Yelp - I believe at one time they were on a Yelp list of best restaurants in the US. We were certainly excited to try Uzbek food, as there's nowhere that serves it where we live. The restaurant doesn't look like too much from the outside and the parking lot is a little run down. However, the inside is very updated and super clean and comfortable. There's lots of seating, what appears to be a private room in the back, and some high-tech features, like a machine that you can use to alert waitstaff if you need a refill, a to-go box, or any other kind of attention. The bathrooms were also immaculate. Service was a little strange. I wouldn't say it was slow - every time we placed an order or had a request, our food or items were promptly brought out to us. However, the challenge came in getting the attention of our waitresses. Two ladies took care of us, alternating based on availability. One was very nice and friendly, the other a little gruff and irritable-seeming. But both were completely averse to coming in and checking on us without one of us flagging them down. Perhaps they're used to the little machines? I don't like using those because they come across as too demanding; I'd prefer to just be visited and checked in on from time to time by staff. Not so here. Despite not being very busy, our visit took a lot of time, even though the actual food service was fairly quick. Onto the food, the most important part. We ordered a lot because I wanted to experience as many unique dishes as possible. One waitress first brought out a complimentary serving of pita and what I believe was suzma, which the menu describes as a yogurt-based cheese. This was one of the highlights of our meal, actually, as the pita was hot, fresh, and very lightly charred. The suzma went very well with it. Then we ordered a chicken somsa and some Uzbek bread. The chicken somsa was alright; the pastry was delightfully flaky, but for me it was way too onion-forward. The Uzbek bread was another highlight. It was a temperature and textural delight - so warm and fluffy - if not a flavor bomb. It was great to polish off the remaining suzma from our complimentary treat. For entrees, my husband wanted to try the signature osh, while I ordered chicken shashlik. The osh was probably the better of the two but he didn't love it. It was quite greasy and the lamb was on the gamey side. My chicken shashlik had definitely been near charcoal too long; it had an overly-charred, unpleasant chemical-y taste. The accompanying rice had so much butter or oil in it that it was greasy, too, and although that imparted more flavor into it, I felt gross after a couple of bites. Everything was cooked well, just the flavors really didn't quite come together for us on this visit. It's hard for me to believe, given the average outstanding reviews and consistent praise this place gets, that our experience was an average one. Perhaps we just came on an off day or ordered the wrong things for our palates, since we're fairly unfamiliar with this cuisine. I would be willing to try again some day, but sadly our first visit didn't quite wow the way we'd hoped it would. I appreciate the clean and pretty environment and quickly prepared food!

I can't speak to the authenticity of the Turkish cuisine here, but I can speak to the food quality. Starting off is a beautiful focaccia loaf with a mix of light spices and olive oil. It's odd to say bread is relaxing and refreshing but here it is. The hummus is quite the same, lightly spiced but bright and refreshing. The ezme is interesting. To me it resembles a Turkish version of chips and salsa, very tomato forward but lightly spiced. Only complaint of the meal for me was the lamb kabobs. I am notorious for over seasoning things, and that is simply how my palette is. The lamb was cooked perfectly, not dried out and moist, however I would've liked a little more seasoning. The Billur kabob has been a repeat favorite of mine over the years. The combination of sautéed eggplant, pashamal sauce and onions/peppers/mushrooms creates an explosion of varying textures and tastes. Everything sort of melds together perfectly once it's cooked on the stone oven and becomes a cohesive entree better than the sum of its parts. The servers are always very attentive, respectful and knowledgeable about the menu. When I first started coming here they always had fantastic recommendations. All in all this has been and continues to be a delicious meal no matter what I have ordered here.

I also wanted to dispel a lot of what people are saying, I deliver for uber eats and I got a pickup from here, so it in fact isn't the employees delivering the food, its legit uber eats and door dash etc. They have a big shelf for delivery drivers and I witnessed several drivers come in and collect orders. Saying that I walked in and it was dead quiet. The decor was nice, like someone actually spent time to decorate the place in an Egyptian theme. Finally was acknowledged after a few minutes and asked if I could sit inside and eat inside. The guy said I could. Gave me a menu and seated me. I ordered the kofta plate. with a water. About 15 minutes later a second guy gets a water bottle out of the cooler and places it down. (I later found out, he said because of covid, they can't have fountain drinks and also no silverware but disposable silverware.) I was the only person eating in there and the only other people I saw were to go orders and delivery drivers. The food took a semi long time to come out. About 25 minutes. The price was very good. The food was fresh I could tell. One complaint I have was the koftas were dry and charred. I am used to tender koftas. These had some crunch to them. I used the cucumber sauce to soften them up. Another complaint I would say is, the rice was bland, I would have loved for some hot sauce or maybe some Sumac to put on the whole dish. I doused the entire thing with the two ramekins of cucumber sauce, and it really improved the flavor. Staff were nice and the food was freshly made to order, so no problems there. Just -the wait times and the kofta doneness was the only real issue. Also the menu said "one pound of beef" which, when I first read it, gave me pause and I thought to myself "I can't eat one pound of beef" and when it came out it was more like 1/4 pound. Speaking of pounds - they had a promotional poster at the entrance and it was advertising specials in GBP and not USD lol I hated to see all these people complaining on here about this place when it was third party delivery drivers and not the fault of the restaurant. I wanted to see for myself. I do vote this place higher than the other local spot called Sam's Kabob Gyro.
