They still have they're amazing hot bar style lunch. For $13 you get to pick 4 items. The portions are generous and the flavors are absolutely spectacular. The staff is so so kind and helpful with any questions you have. I ordered the vegetable soup, the eggplant lasagna, tofu,and pastelon. For dessert we ordered the brownie and orange/zucchini slice. It's a family operated restaurant and they always make you feel at home when you go there. Marisol always has a smile on her face and she always recommends the best stuff for me to try. So this place is literally next to my moms house. Following this amazing goal to eat healthier I decided to search for health places in the area. This popped up with a 5 star rating. Ok. So I head over. Located in a very crowded shopping plaza. I walk in and I see the place is manned by all Hispanic ladies. Looks like a hole in a wall. Ok. 5 stars. Ordered the very popular avocado wrap with hummus and a paradise juice just cause I love ginger. I ordered and paid right away but the juice wasn't done so I sat in the counter area to wait. I was starving so I popped open my to go box. Bit into the wrap... I don't know if it was because I was hungry or what but wow. WOW. it was so good. 5 STARS lol. The wrap was so delicious. It was also very filling which was surprising. I ended up only eating half and drinking the small juice. The juice was tasty. I can taste the ginger. Post COVID Update: I had the pleasure of visiting their new location in Doral today (only about 5 minutes away from original location) and it was great just as I remembered. They have daily specials that can be found on their Facebook page and everything I've tried is amazing (this is coming from a non-vegan). The place is very clean and everyone was using proper PPE. The very kind owner informed me that they are now offering delivery via Postmates. Support local and give this family owned lunch spot a try! I am in no way a vegan but if all vegan food tasted like this I could be. This place is so bomb. I decided to try it because it is close to my job and the yelp reviews were great. Every day they have different specials and everything I've tried is outstanding (lentil soup, okra, mushrooms, squash, red beans, salad). The lunch is about $8 and you can choose any 4 items including any of their hot specials, side salad or guacamole. Everything has wonderful flavor, the service is great and friendly and it is reasonably priced- especially for vegan food. WOW! What a nice little veggie-filled gem tucked away in the middle of Sweetwater. Vegan and juice is tucked away in your stereotypical Sweetwater shopping center, a cafecito place, a los ranchos and Vegan and Juice. This place is a little ray of sunshine and vegetables on 107th avenue. Came in upon suggestion of Gabby P who works at FIU as this is one of her go-to healthy lunch spots in the area. Yes, they have an assortment of sandwiches and wraps which I'm sure are delicious but what you really come for is the hot food. They cook up a variety of different latin-inspired vegan dishes each day, and you better come early because they run out. Once you taste them, you'll know why. When you order the entree plate you get a choice of 4 items.I dabbled in the entree plate and decided on stuffed peppers, un puree de malanga, a veggie rice and sautéed mushrooms. They seem to prepare about 8-10 items, so there is surely something for everyone to choose from. The food was super flavorful. Seasoned well, not overly salty and just that comforting feeling you'd expect from a perfectly prepared meal by abuela...but she's vegan! I'm by no means vegan, but I am always in pursuit of delish food and this hit the spot. I also ordered the Detox juice which was made to order and packed a kick of cayenne. Here's to hoping I have my summer body makes an appearance soon. For two entree plates and a juice the total was $21. That is AMAZING for a huge, healthy lunch! The only issue I had with Vegan and Juice was that they serve everything on styrofoam. I really dislike styrofoam and it seems a bit confusing to me for a vegan place to serve things in something that is so harmful to the environment. I have been going to Vegan & Juice on and off for several years. I can't believe that I have not provided them a solid review yet! This is a small family-owned place and I love supporting family-owned local businesses so here is my honest, yet supportive review. If you happen to venture here during lunch rush, be prepared to wait in super long lines. Sometimes the lines can be annoying because many people come to pick up 4 and 5 plates to go at a time. They work as fast as they can and seem to have a well-oiled operation but they are popular and lunch is their busiest time. Note that there is no kitchen here and they cook a select amount of food for the day. If you show up too late, you run the risk of the hot cooked food being all sold out. But no worries, they make sandwiches and salads and fresh smoothies and juices to order also. I almost always get the guacamole as one of my sides which is not really guacamole. It's just diced avocado with purple onions and tomatoes. No salt, no pepper. Light citrus, if any at all. It's not bad. I find that just a little hint of salt pepper will bring out the flavor more. However, I do appreciate that they make it fresh to order. The food is Hispanic style cooking. Maybe Dominican? But don't quote me on that. This is the first and only Latin/Hispanic vegan restaurant that I have found and I am grateful for their take on traditional meat-laden dishes. Unfortunately, I give them a 3.5 out of 5 because I often find that their food is very overcooked. Many of the items are so soft and mushy. As this is a vegan spot, I expect a lot of vegetable dishes but I'm not sure why everything is so overcooked. Maybe it is because the food is cooked so early in the day and then sits in hot steam pans until served? I find that they would do so much better if their vegetables were more crisp. Maybe slightly undercook the food since it will continue cooking in the steam pans? I don't know. But this could bring out the natural flavor of the veggies. I have no complains about their desserts!! I've ordered the strawberry vegan cake several times! Super creamy "buttercream" icing! Overall, the food is pretty decent and this is my go-to spot when I want vegan food while I am on campus. read more
