Malgré mes clarifications répétées, il a préparé la commande à contrecœur. Le résultat fut une boisson froide, sans aucune mousse de lait - rien à voir avec la qualité du matin. Après avoir passé beaucoup trop de temps à expliquer et à attendre, j'étais tellement épuisé par l'interaction que j'ai fini par accepter la boisson ratée sans prolonger la situation. Si l'on peut comprendre qu'une caissière ne soit pas une experte en café, le barista qui manipule la machine à café devrait parfaitement maîtriser les recettes classiques comme le café mocha et traiter les clients avec courtoisie et professionnalisme. Je suggère respectueusement au responsable de former correctement le personnel sur les boissons de base et les standards de service client afin que cela ne se reproduise plus. Fou de Pâtisserie fell onto my radar when collecting pâtisseries to check out while in Paris. We…read morehad finished lunch but were looking for some sweets before heading back to the hotel for a breather. I noticed this place was close-by, so off we went. Fou isn't a large space, really only enough for a queue to form and the staff to stand behind the counter. Unlike a traditional pâtisserie, there is no baking done on premises here. Instead, they import bakes from other pâtisseries and pastry chefs and sell them here. They had a good selection, with each having a label that tells where it came from and/or who the pasty chef was that created it. We decided on three pastries and a slice of cake - they were running a special where if we ordered three bakes then we could get a fourth for a discount. Each of the bakes were quite good - my favorite was the lemon which had great flavor while also being intricately decorated. Overall though, all our selections were high quality. Service was fast and friendly, and overall I had a good experience at Fou de Pâtisserie. It's a great option to get Paris' "greatest hits" from all over the city.

The caramel brûlée pâte à choux was quite possibly one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life - a sweet caramel cream filling and a crispy brûlée sugar top. I also tried the pistachio tart (salty, not very sweet) , the pear and almond tart (very fresh, not super sweet, and gorgeous), and the chocolate praliné tart (very rich, dark, and indulgent). We saw our server once and I couldn't recall who he was when it came time to get the bill. I asked a hostess walking by for our check and she told me to ask our server while walking away. We were able to flag another server down eventually but the whole process just took too long. The tables for four have chairs that don't quite tuck in causing for a bit awkward seating. If you like really thick hot chocolate, give it a try but otherwise ok to miss this one. Plenty of good hot chocolate throughout the city.
