So I am a new home owner and expect to pay through the nose for repairs but come on........ Not only did I pay through the nose but also out the...... as well. They should list their service call rates on the website. I would have bought a new refrigerator. Nasty AND incompetent. Do not waste your time and money. I was charged a hefty fee to look at my dishwasher for less than five minutes and was told I needed a new motor. I couldn't afford that so I had an uncorking dishwasher for 6 months. Then I called someone else (I didn't want to deal with the sour disposition and generally nasty demeanor of the Vietch guy) to put in a new motor. He thought it was odd that the motor went on my not very old KitchenAid dishwasher. Well the motor was fine! There was just a screw stick in it! Five minutes with someone else and my dishwasher worked! I will NEVER use Vietch again! read more

Look elsewhere for a good service technician. Operates like an old mom and pop shop with limited technical savy. They still have a rotary phone, so expect a busy signal for most of the day. No voice mail or answering machine- it's just luck if you get someone to answer your call. Surprised they still are in business. read more

I've used them a number of times over the years for Bosch and Maytag and have been very satisfied.

The incompetence this place displays is ridiculous. Charged for a service call on a washer where I was told there was no problem, but washer continued to not work. When revisited, was now told that they weren't sure what the problem was, and they could take a guess on a repair costing about $200, and after that take a guess on a $500 repair. If I had just gone to a place who knew what they were doing I would have saved money and would have a fixed washer by this point. Not worth the money to not have something fixed. read more

Prompt and reliable service. The cost to repair my washing machine prevented me from buying a stackable washer and dryer. This is the second time that I used R J Veitch Appliance Repair. However, I do have one constructive criticism. When I called the story to order my repair, I specifically asked that the repair person call me to let me know the problem and provide me with the price to repair it. I never received a call. I did get my bill in the mail. I called the business to express my concern, and the woman who answered the phone was most gracious and apologized to me. Let's hope a lesson was learned and that this forgetfulness will not repeat itself with its other customers, including me. read more

We've used these guys for years, because they always gave prompt, reliable, reasonably priced service. So I don't know why, when I called recently about my nearly new but malfunctioning fridge, I was charged $100 for a 30 second service call to misdiagnose the problem, and another $128 for a part that I had to wait 10 days for that didn't fix it. I even knew it wouldn't fix it, but stupidly trusted them for being so good in the past. They just can't deal with the newer stuff. So Disappointed! read more

We just bought home, fridge wasn't working properly, called them(yes multiple times to get through the busy signal as stated by another reviewer, but wasn't a big deal. They came out the next day fixed my fridge, matt the service tech, walked me through explained everything and was very professional. I would use them again for any issues. read more

Very pleased with Veitch. This was the first time we used them--recommended by another service man--and while we had to wait a bit for our first appointment to get our front loading washer fixed, they were able to get the part in within two days and get us scheduled for its installation the next day. It is a relief to have a working washer! I have read the comments about the phone line being busy and that is a head scratcher. Veitch has two numbers--a local one and an 800 number. If the local one was busy, I called the other number and got right through. So, I do not consider that to be a current issue or concern. read more

Used this place before, had no problems, but had dealt with the son first time , this time needed stove repair, gave tech/father/owner model number and brand on phone before visit, he came out without correct parts, said couldn't find model number online, I checked, stovetop model online came right up, he charged me $269.00 including a $35 part I found online that he installed in 2 minutes, two visits, and on the second visit he removed two screws, unclipped a wire, plugged the new burner into the same wire and screwed down the unit and the labor for this was $191.00 plus $78.00 for part even tho burner is online for $38, I complained and he fought me on it, I will never use this company again, it was very obvious his inability to find the part with the number I gave him on the first call before he came out was a setup so he charge me for a second visit, for nothing. I will call the Attorney General's office after the holidays and file a complaint against him. read more

Horrible customer service. They are the closest Bosch repair center in our area of CT and refused to come out and fix our dishwasher even though Bosch said they would pay for time and travel. They didn't even have the courtesy to call and tell us either. They just ignored us. Will never do business with them and plan to complain to Bosch about them. read more

I would agree with the other negative posts and stay away from these this business. They came to my house twice to fix my dishwasher for $300 - still broken. Went on line and found a site that had a video on how to fix. Did in myself instead of having them come back a third time. read more

I'm not sure why this company has mean reviews. They've come to our house many times over the years to check appliances. They're always on time, and pleasant, and clearly know what they're doing. Will you spend some time redialing because they're busy now and then? Sure. They ARE a Mom and Pop place, stable and reliable. I am so disappointed in the service from this company and the total lack of respect for my time-such arrogance. I had an appointment for between 10 & 12 but was called it was now between 2 & 4. Still no show at 4:30 and I needed to walk my dog since we could not leave house due to waiting on VEITCH all day. I was gone for 10 minutes and had a call at 4:35 th tech came and left since I was not home. I called at 4:40 and was told I could reschedule since I was not home. Really? Is this how they treat their customers? Would you like to be treated like this? I lost a whole day waiting for an arrogant tech who represents the business poorly. I am going to let all my friends and neighbors know not to use this business. I am still astonished at how I was treated. Surprises me thy are still in business. I should have read all the poor online reviews prior to calling, then I would not have lost my day off to waiting for nothing. I would have rated NO stars if the program allowed. read more
