    I honestly was not expecting much when I called but I am really glad I did. My stove had only one…read morepilot working and I figured I was going to be looking at a big repair bill or worse having to replace parts. Seth came out, took his time to actually look at the problem, and figured out it just needed a good cleaning. That was it. He did not try to sell me anything I did not need, did not push unnecessary parts, and was completely upfront with me the whole time. What really stood out was how honest Seth was. He could have easily told me I needed new parts and I would not have known the difference, but instead he fixed it the right way and saved me a good amount of money. On top of that he was friendly, professional, and made the whole experience easy. My stove is working perfectly now and I could not be happier. I would absolutely recommend Discount Appliance Repair to anyone. Seth is the kind of person you want working in your home - honest, skilled, and he actually cares about doing right by the customer. Five stars without question.

    Our ice maker broke and was out of commission for about 3 weeks and we called the manufacturer to…read moreget it fixed because it was still under warranty. The manufacturer contacted JP Appliances. We did get an appointment pretty quickly. Once we figured out the ice maker was not working after trying troubleshooting things to try to fix the ice maker, we turned the ice maker off. When the service guy arrived, he very rudely told my wife "You know its not making ice because its off right?" Then he told her that there didn't seem to be anything wrong and pretty much told us we were dumb for having the machine off even though that's what the product manual instructed. He told us to call him back after 1-2 days if it didn't make ice after he turned it back on. Surprise, surprise it didn't work. So we called him back and he told us he would order another one. We did not hear from him for over 3 weeks. I finally had to call to find out what the status was. No call, no information. After calling him, he said "he had ordered it" and it should be in soon. Sure enough 2 days later, the unit had arrived (coincidence?). When he came to replace the machine, he was still very rude to my wife and still adamantly stated that there was nothing wrong with it. He did replace it and we now have a working ice machine. I don't understand how someone, in a customer service based industry, had zero customer service sense or people skills. It takes a lot for my wife to get mad at someone (except me :)), so the fact that the service repair guy make her that mad is saying something. I'm hoping there were some extenuating circumstances for why this experience was so horrible but that is what is was.... a horrible experience.
