I towed my vehicle for a diagnostic and full service workup. To come pick my car up that broke down and couldn't be driven off lot. I also was informed business lost my car key and I saw substantial damage to my trunk that didn't have these damages and was towed in on a flatbed from my AAA courier. This facility lets unlicensed workers tend to our cars and damage our property. I will have another shop fix my damage caused while at this shop but please stay away from this shop as they are rude, steal car keys, and your car will be damaged and not fixed while under their possession. I made a police report for criminal damage that occurred to my property and have contacted body shop and mechanic that will fix work and body damage caused by Velasquez and Son . I hope I can post pictures of my damage unbelievable!!!!! read more

They're supposed to open at 8am. I sat there until 8:30 then the manager finally showed up he said he would open in 5 minutes. After waiting 10 additional minutes he still hadn't opened. I spoke to a mechanic through the open garage door and asked him to open the door. The manager was rude, asked me to leave, and told me he has the right to refuse to give me service. I still don't know what set him off but they will never get my business again. read more

Don't do business with this place. Took our car to be fixed due to engine light. They "fixed" and charged $800. Within a mile the engine light was back on. Also, the workers are soooo unprofessional. Do not take your car here! Fuel pump failed 3 times from this place. Improper documentation, refuse to give proper receipt. Refuse to refund $800. Their excuse is that they dont do electrical. Where do I start? First, you need to know that a lot of their work is only warrantied for 90 days versus 1 year on certain parts. Second, although I paid $150 to get 2 flex pipes replaced, another shop determined that only one was replaced originally. When I questioned them about their work, they claimed that their own records were unclear and they could not determine if they replaced one or 2. I have patronized this business for a couple of years now. Nothing stellar, but no issues until today. The main guy Rick, who is usually pretty professional and responsive was a little off and a little rude along with the "charming" girl at the front desk. She wasn't horrible just not a front desk personality like the last girl. Something's changed there and It's not what you say, but how you say it in business; especially to paying customers. There is a very rude young lady that works the front desk. She act like she didn't have any compassion or patience with customers. I called about my car and she responded very short. Saying that she'll call when it's ready and hung up on me. I don't feel I should be treated like a nobody and give someone my money! I only went to this place because my car was losing compression and would stall which made me have to go to the closest shop. She definitely discouraged me from ever going to this shop again! My car was making noise. I thought it was the muffler. Took it to M***s who told me I needed a muffler and resonator totalling $488. Brought it over to Velasquez who fixed it for much less. I went in later in the day and there was a wait. I left it and it was done by 5 PM. Fantastic! read more

I went to a reputable shop(NOT Velasquez) to get repairs made, they did excellent work but was expensive. While they were making the repairs I asked if they would diagnose an unrelated popping noise that I heard. Upon inspecting the car and noise, They told me it was my sway bar link pins and they could fix it for 285 dollars. I called Velasquez, spoke to Rick he said he could do it for 130, so I of course let the other shop finish the repairs that they were working on and told them no thank you for the sway bar pins, BIG MISTAKE. I dropped my car off to Velasquez, after several hours I received a call saying it wasn't the pins, it was my left lower ball joint and left upper control arm and it would cost me 400 dollars. I asked several times if he was sure, I told him what the other shop said the issue was. He said he would replace the pins if I liked, but that it wasn't the issue. He said he was 100% sure it was the control arm and ball joint. I said ok, you're the professional we will go with your diagnosis, I just didn't want to pay 400 dollars and still have the same issue. He assured me that wasn't how he ran his shop and he wouldn't do me like that. I gave him the go ahead to make the repairs. my wife picked up my car because I was at work, she drove it straight home, now we only stay about 10 minutes away but I'm still not sure how she missed the noise.The next day I drove it I instantly heard the noise so I drove it right to them. I asked for Rick he came out, was nice and friendly until I told him that I was still having the same issue. His mood instantly changed he got very aggressive. "well I didn't hear it when I test drove it, what do you want me to do, I mean whatever you want me to sell you I will sell you its not the sway bar pins. I'm booked up right now bring it back Monday and ill take another look." The girl at the front desk with the face piercing, was just as rude. After misdiagnosing the issue, lying to me about how he ran the shop and becoming rude because I calmly and politely told him my car was still having the same issue, I didn't even feel comfortable with them working on my car so I lost the 400 dollar and just cucked it up as a life lesson.I will never go back there, save yourself some money and skip this shop! read more

My husband was a regular customer, but sad to say, he won't be back after going to the manager, Saul, to inform him that while they serviced his car, a knob on the door was broken in half. Saul, uncaringly, told him to go and look at another Grand Prix in the lot and said he guarantees that its knob is off too because they all fall off. He said he worked on the car in question and did not break it. So, in other words, he was calling my husband a liar. No reasoning, no sincere listening, no show of concern, just a cold, callous manager that can run away honest customers. read more

On May 6, 2015 I went into the Harvey, IL location to have my brakes checked. I do not travel to many places but on Friday May 22, 2015 I was and my car started to violently shake. I was having a difficult time controlling my car. I pulled off of the expressway and called for help. When the service person arrive his first question to me was "Where are your lug nuts" I was unsure how to answer this. I didn't know. There was only one left. Between May 6th and May 22nd I had lost all but one because they weren't tightened when I left this establishment. I attempted to contact the manager "Saul" who was rude and disrespectful. He lacked empathy and didn't even attempt to see what the issue was. As management, clearly without training, this was insult to injury. This isn't about $40 spent but my life. I could have died in an auto accident do to carelessness.
