I traded my Altima in on the truck of my dreams last month at Velishek. Salesmen were direct and to the point with questions, prices were competitive, and service was terrific. After a couple weeks in my garage, I noticed a sizable oil spot accumulating on the concrete. I called Randy and he was immediately open to assessing the problem. 5 stars might be over the top, but I have never purchased a car from a used car dealer before, and I was a little anxious about being taken advantage of. I purchased a vehicle from Velishek in December of 2014, but I purposefully waited to make my review to see what the first year of owning the car brought. I had read some poor reviews on here before purchasing, but decided that overall I felt comfortable buying from them. I have been driving the Tahoe for almost a year and it still runs just as well as it did the day I purchased it. From a customer service standpoint, they made it very easy and hassle free. I went to several new and used dealers before buying from Velishek and overall, they treated me very well. It's not flashy, but feels like a nice, family run business that cares about their customers. I will most likely purchase future vehicles from them. read more

Bought a used car from here. At first, seemed like a good deal. They gave us a good price and I didn't find them to be pressury at all. However 4 days after driving the car the check engine light came on. I was about to bring it in to my mechanic for a check up, who had told me the timing belt needed to be replaced at 60,000 miles. My car had a 50/50 warranty so I called Velishek first to see what they could do. I didn't want to drive all the way back in and wanted to see if they could cover the repairs if done somewhere else. They said no, and that my mechanic was absolutely wrong about the timing belt, that it could go at 60,000 miles but it could also sometimes last up to 100,000 miles. This seemed really sketchy to me. If they knew the timing belt could go at 60,000 (which could potentially destroy the engine), why would they risk driving it over that and knowingly sell a dangerous car to an unknowing customer? Because their response made me feel uncomfortable, I had them send me a quote on the work that might need to be done first, before going out. I also brought my car to my mechanic so they could tell me exactly what was wrong before I drove all the way out to Prior Lake. Long story short: Velishek wanted to charge me OVER TWICE AS MUCH for one job as my regular mechanic was going to charge me, so that a $350 job became over $800. In addition, the car needed many repairs that weren't disclosed at time of sale. As stated previously, they also don't seem to care about safety of customers and were willing to let my timing belt go out, putting my car and my safety at risk. read more

For anyone looking to buy a used car i would not go here. They were all nice and helpful and willing to get me (a young adult into a car and help me get a good loan through U.S. Federal Credit Union) so i decided to buy a car through them and they showed me a carfax and a kelley blue book estimate and me being a dumb young adult i trusted them. and here i am about 4 or maybe 5 months after buying the car i found out i over paid by a little less than $4,000 even tho i haggled with them i got a price i could afford. then a couple days later they had to replace the brakes(which were replaced with probably the cheapest brakes possible) and they agreed to give me new rotors but they only machined them down. Then my windshield fluid would not come out so they fixed that and now i have one glossy sprayer and one matte colored sprayer... and after they fixed it i opened the hood before leaving and noticed they had broken the clips so i mentioned it and they put new clips in it. Then my airbag maintenance light came on and i brought it in to get it checked out and they told me its because i must of had something on the seat and its fine. Even tho the light comes on and my airbags do not work when their is a passenger in the car or if there is nothing on the seat the maintenance light randomly comes on. Then about three weeks into driving the car the transmission goes out on me because apparently when you get a car up to 4,000 RPM's that is going to blow a transmission.... ya ok... i had driven about 600 miles over the warranty so they said they would not cover it so i had to buy a new one which cost me another $3,000. after getting my car back with the new transmission in it the car started making a high pitched whistling noise when accelerating. So i gave up on Velishek and went to my trusted mechanic and friend that has his own shop (Car Doctors) and found out from them that i had over paid for everything i had paid for to be done to my car including the other cheaper options they gave me for a transmission that i could of picked, i still would over overpaid by a lot. so to end my long rant yes they were nice to me. (except for when i yelled at one of the mechanics for breaking my clips, he had a bad attitude about it went on to tell me if i did not like it i could go inside and make a complaint) But anyways i wish i would have bought my car from somewhere else and will never buy a car from there again and every chance i get i inform people this is not the place to buy a car. read more
