The tricky thing is that they're so effective that I think I can do all the things -- and realize I did too much once they wear off. I really appreciated the consultative approach at Velvet to help me find the right products. For example, they asked if I was experiencing joint pain or muscle pain, if I wanted to focus or relax more, what my budget was, and how sensitive I was to scents. This helped me narrow down to two products -- one edible and one topical -- that have been so truly life changing. Super sweet guy at the door but when i came in a short younger Latin girl put her hand up and just said right here but not in like a friendly welcoming way. She had this look on her face every time I asked something or even said something that. As I'm watching the other customers with their budtenders I was getting jealous because why did I have to get the rude one! Velvet is a super addition to the community. Also... in regards to criticism of this place, or any cannabis place for that matter in regards to cost/price. If you haven't figured it out yet, everything in here is 100x better than anything you would buy at Bev Mo or any sanction den of alcohol distribution. And cheaper as well if you're looking to have a slightly altered state. A single bottle of wine can be $69.99 and for that amount you could get months if not the better part of a year worth of THC infused edibles. Which are much more healthy for you anyway. read more

Velvet is 5 stars. Writing this review seems appropriate today 4/20. There are other dispensaries near by and they are fine too. Velvet ended up being my go to. I don't drink alcohol anymore but I do still like a cocktail with a head change. Velvet has a bunch of different choices for me. And they have a point system to help me afford this! Hubs and I frequent the Napa location, but happened to be in the East Bay. Velvet Martinez was in the general direction of where we were going, but is far off the beaten path. Parking is ample and the front door staff is friendly :) What I was not prepared for was a high energy hostess had as she greeted us and directed us to the next available bud tender. Our bud tender was friendly and expedient and was able to fill our order, and we were off on our merry way. I think I may be sticking to the Napa location. I was a frequent customer there a year back, and from all the money I spent within a year, I had a bunch of non used rewards. I became pregnant and I didn't use my rewards for the year. So at the beginning of July I started going back to Velvet in Martinez. At my first checkout back, I told the Budtender I was so excited because I had rewards saved up while I was pregnant and I can finally use them. And that Velvet had my favorite edibles for the cheapest in the county. Basically boosting up the business and letting them know how appreciative I was for all the rewards for the money I have spent. And I told them that their Happy Hour was genius and that really helped as well. Well long story short, right after I complimented this. Not only did the Budtender get pissed off about me having so many rewards, they started taking my points away that I had built up. Manager said it was due to them being on my account for so long. Ok so then why didn't you guys take it off during the year I was saving them? And not to mention two days later they got rid of the cyber happy hour. That's absolutely ridiculous and talk about a scam and not caring for the customer. They literally got pissed because I had rewards that saved up to the point where I didn't have to buy my supply for a month. That's not my fault that I spent a shit ton of money and got rewards for it and now I want to spend those rewards after saving them. This place is a scam and I will NEVER come back. read more
