I've lived in this apartment complex for over three years and its been a wonderful experience…read moreoverall. Grace does an excellent job managing the property and is a big part of the reason why I've stayed for so long. Grace is so genuinely kind and is a true professional. Any concerns I've had over the years were responded to promptly, and she ensures tenants abide by the very reasonable apartment rules and expectations. I've never had a bad experience with her. We had a notoriously unruly, nightmare of a neighbor, and Grace did an excellent job handling that very difficult and uncomfortable situation. Communication is excellent and normally recieve notifications within reasonable time to respond/prepare. The apartment itself is on the older side, but is maintained well. Each apartment has its dedicated parking spot(s), which is a huge convenience. There is on-site laundry which can get very busy, but is also nice to have. This review was long overdue, but a big thank you to Grace for making living at the Country Club Apartments such a great experience.

NO STARS!! TO YOUR 1 STAR!…read more Pics of her messages to me, are posted on Google Review since I can't upload on here for the Country Club Apts. It started out ok, but it is horrible living in our apartment where grace is the office Manager. Usually people receive notices, I on the other hand received messages, like if i'm being yelled at by my mother and threats of her gathering evidence against me. Do not come here if you have a child with a disability, because she does not verify any noise complaints. She once messaged hey! I'm receiving messages of noise from your way, when it was the apartment in the next bldg infront of us. Told her wrong apt. Maybe you should go out and verify. The times I have complained about noise, I received no response from her until hours later when there was nothing to investigate, So yes this place is BS! We were always planning on leaving when our son reached HS, but Stauffer Middle where my son goes to which is across and down the street, is not worth it, this school has bullys and the school does nothing to the attacker. He is on independent studies and now has his work done through ipad. My son doesn't even feel comfortable going to the pool, which is directly in front of her apt. Because its 2 per household to be at the pool. I had my son and nephew there ONE TIME the first year and she came out like if she was ICE when me and my brother were there to keep an eye on them in the pool, mind you i was showing my brother the complex as well and after that, came out told me i couldn't drink or eat out by the pool yet i was at a table and had a bag with our stuff and we pick up after ourselves, so those rules in itself should stop you if you want an apt with a pool. He's probably swam 2 times in the pool out of 2 yrs here. Yet I witnessed a pool full of children and nothing was done. We are a family of 3, paying a 2 bedroom and all 3 can't be out there to enjoy what we pay for unless its 2 at a time? We live in the back bldg so how can i watch my kid and nephew from back there? It's a joke that they have someone like this as the property Office Manager, I am already waiting for a response from Marco who is her boss to this matter, but felt as a Tenant still living here currently, that you know this before risking coming here to waste your money to deal with a headache like her and a school like Stauffer Middle. After that our account is locked and at first said, Evicted No Access! Like we didn't even get a notice. Also a man showed up to do electrical work banging on the door and I had to tell him no, because we didn't receive a notice and our trust level here is null. I wouldn't recommend here also, because the floors are so uneven our bed in the room leans more on one side then the other making it horrible to sleep and we have a really good bed. Also we live on the 1st floor and the ceiling creaking level is out of control when the neighbors walk in the upstairs apt. Proof is in the screenshots I'm sharing. Happy House Hunting Peeps!

I would call and call and he wouldn't answer. He used to promise me that workers would come to the apartment to fix my bathrooms and reglaze them and for weeks no one showed up. I would call him to find out but he ignored me. I am relieved that he is gone now because I believe things will be better now. I always go to Adriana for my problems regarding the apartment even before. So, I am glad that she is handling the apartment now. I also don't like the smell of the water in the laundry room. It smells bad. Also the machines eat my money and I don't get them back. But I am thankful that this apartment is so close to my sons' school. I feel at ease because I am close to them when emergency happens. I also like that the apartment is close to the shopping mall and new stores in Downey. Everything is accessible. I also appreciate the online work order procedure. Now my concerns get acted on in a timely manner.

It's honestly refreshing to have maintenance actually answer emergency calls! Management is also very prompt and respectful of residents' privacy, even around shared spaces like the grill areas, pool and gym. The pool is always nice and clean, and the neighborhood itself is quiet and calm. Unfortunately, we are near an area where there's occasionally a lot of loitering and suspicious activity, so I definitely recommend not leaving personal belongings in your car or outside. My kids' bike was recently stolen because I left it out overnight. There is security walking around 24/7, but being in LA, thieves move fast.. so just stay vigilant like you would anywhere else in the city. Aside from that, my kids, my Betsy , and I are truly loving it here!

I think things have definitely improved since…read moreI first started living here & I'll list the pros and cons below: Pros: - Pet friendly - Cheaper rent for a 2bedroom compared to others in the area - Spacious units - 1 parking spot in the garage & street parking (yes, sometimes the nearby streets get filled out, but I've never had an issue parking further away & walking) - Friendly staff members - Fast & friendly maintenance crew (seriously, they're so responsive to maintenance requests) and even the gardening crew here are so friendly!! - Pool & (small) gym - Leasing office does fun events sometimes for holidays - Security guard -They give you a Ring camera (you need to pay for membership) Cons: - Only one window AC unit (newer units seem to have 2, so I'm sure this won't be a problem moving forward), so we had to buy a couple of portable AC's to be cool in the summer - Doesn't come with fridge (but this is normal in the LA area) - Bathroom is reaaaally small (think airport small lol), but that's prob how they get more space in the apartment overall - Not a lot of laundry machines/rooms and a lot of times there'll be machines broken - They added a door to the front of the buildings that locks and it's a hassle for package deliveries because the drivers don't know to go around the back and sometimes packages will just be left out front and get stolen if not retrieved in a timely manner When I first started living here, there was a big problem with homeless people hanging around and even coming to our door. But ever since they hired security, it hasn't been a problem for the last two years. They even added locks to the dumpsters to prevent dumpster diving and from having people stay in there overnight. Overall, not a shabby place to live, especially as a first apartment!

I would think twice before renting here…read more Recently we discovered that we had been charged $15/month for "forced renters insurance" for the past 7 months ($105 total), even though we already had an active renters insurance policy the entire time. Our policy never lapsed. Management explained that because we didn't re-submit proof of insurance when we renewed our lease through their compliance portal, their system automatically enrolled us in a third-party liability program and added the monthly charge. While that may technically follow their lease wording, we never received any notice or warning that there was an issue with our insurance or that we were being auto-enrolled and charged each month. When we contacted the office and showed that our policy had been valid the entire time, they still refused to credit the charges and instead said it was handled by the third-party company they use. Another frustrating issue is that tenants are also required to pay about $7.50 per month for Luxer One package lockers. In practice, delivery drivers rarely use the lockers and most packages are still left at our door, so residents are forced to pay for a service that often isn't actually used. The amount here was only $105, but it's the principle. Being charged for something without any notice while already maintaining the required insurance was disappointing, and the refusal to work with us on it left a bad impression. If you're considering renting here, make sure you read every fee carefully and monitor your account closely because additional charges can be added if paperwork isn't resubmitted exactly the way their system requires.

There is a swimming pool, workout room, on site laundry facility, grill area and it just feels very luxurious. Oh and it's super clean! There is also security at night which makes the place feel safe and secure. Security is very important to me since I am being stalked. I love how accessible the management is here as my last apartment experience was less than desirable. My husband and I have enjoyed our time here. The rules are given for a reason and I love that everything is written out so you know what you can and cannot do. And they do enforce it, which I like. It's very quiet and the people are respectful and polite. Even a few residents asked how it was for us moving in which was very nice! I feel like it's like a little community of its own and I love that feeling. I do make my own videos and pictures for my online accounts and it's a very nice place to make self tapes and music covers since it's so quiet. I love that I can do that now and not feel rushed. In my previous apartment, I always had to rush to get through a self tape because I was anxious that it would get noisy and I don't like background noise in my videos. It has been so peaceful here so I look forward to being able to do those again. I also love how close we are to so many different stores, restaurants, gas stations, two malls and most of my doctors are right nearby. It's so convenient to me. I feel like I am spoiled and it's a really good feeling, truly! It is pretty much a lot of it is actually within walking distance to so many places we go to. Karen has been so helpful throughout the entire process and I'm so thankful for all she did for us! She really helped us step by step to get into a beautiful apartment home that feels quaint and homelike. If you're looking for a place that truly goes a step beyond, then give them a try! They're worth the cost! I promise! My husband and I truly feel we found a hidden gem in Lakewood and we're so thrilled we did! Would recommend them to anyone as they are an amazing place to live! Now that we're moving out, it seems like the best time to tell of our overall experience here. The maintenance team is efficient and kind as well as the mail lady but other than that and a couple nice leasing agents in the beginning, the office has been most unhelpful and unkind. Especially a person named Detrich, who briefly worked there when they were taking away everyone's parking spaces for construction on new studio units that still have seen no progress in the past year, and tried to mansplain to me that ownership can do whatever they want since they gave us notice and was immediately defensive when I asked about the notice since different residents received different information. He admitted to me they just found out it was happening too so obviously couldn't waste any time editing the notice and he also said they were auditing all spaces thoroughly now because some residents had 5! But now, many people can't park even one car and boy do they send emails almost daily about not parking in the leasing center or in the tuck under spaces. They won't take any initiative in tackling the wild feral cat community except tell residents not to feed them when they should be investing in trap and neuter to reduce urine odor, fighting, and breeding. We've had plumbing issues such as leaks and floods, laundry room machines usually down plus they removed the sink instead of locking the doors, major pest issues when moving from 3rd to 1st floor, and even trespassers going in the pool and stealing water from outdoor faucets. Many residents let their dogs poop and pee anywhere even though thats one thing the property provides for us is potty stations but I think they should add cameras for accountability or at least continue to get rid of those unnecessary rocks in the dog runs. Which leads me to now that we're moving out, they want to charge us over $700 because they claim our entire apartment smelled of dog urine. An absurd accusation because there is no way it did, my mother as our witness since she locked up with us, and the last thing I did was mop! They want to charge us for cleaning and replacement when we had normal wear and tear, no staining on the vinyl flooring, but it wasn't squeaky clean for the new residents. Which isn't our job to keep our deposit but to not cause extensive damage. You want to charge us to replace and clean but how can you clean something being entirely replaced? Also, any additional charge for urine odor is so deceptive regardless of everything stated previously, because we had a pre move out inspection and nothing was said at that point. My dog did not potty in our apartment especially not freely on our carpet. Could it be the poor water quality odor I was told there was nothing we can do when I complained in the past? The dog and cat urine odor constantly being sucked in any opening from the AC unit in my car to this apartment? But really the water and pipes had some odor that lingered. Paint/wall damage, sure. Made up urine odor accusation? It's insulting. Unbelievable how greedy management and property owners can be. I know residents have left units in far worse or better and still they will find a way. In conclusion, unless you know what you're paying for because of location and cost, try to avoid this place. I wonder why so many residents are moving out and there are many units available
