I bought 3 cats from Jennifer over a few years, a friend bought 1. My friend's cat died of heart failure before his 3rd birthday and was also vicious. One time I was over there, he attacked me for no reason whatsoever and left 8 puncture wounds on the back of my leg. The first cat I bought (littermate of friend's cat) was also extremely mean and had to be rehomed. Cat number 2 is still going, is healthy and lovable and amazing at 11. She came home from Jennifer's cattery extremely sick though with an obviously swollen and oozing eye, and spent her first few days with me in the ER. At her first vet visit, she weighed less than a pound. Jennifer said she was the only kitten in the litter and my vet said that often happens when the mom is bred too young. Cat 3 died of heart failure at 9. Despite having 3 out of 4 of Jennifer's cats not turn out well and the 4th being sick at pickup, I reached back out to her after my boy died. Her response was short and unfriendly and she offered zero information, wouldn't answer when I asked if she was breeding my dead cat's parents still. Then I contacted American Girlz Ragdolls to see what they were like and the woman who responded was patient, kind, warm, informative and responsive. She also extended her condolences about my cat's death; Jennifer didn't utter a word. Is it that hard to say "sorry your cat died", particularly when I paid you a grand for the cat and was expecting more time with him? Also, when I picked up my second cat (sick one), one of the turtles in Jennifer's tank was obviously dead (yikes). When I picked up the 3rd cat, she wasn't even home and I wasn't welcomed in. Her husband met me at the front door, handed the kitten to me, and said goodbye. When I decide to get a new kitten, we are going to American Girlz. They are far and away superior to what Midwest offers based on my experience, the experience of my friend, and the 4 cats we purchased from Midwest. Editing to add: the owner, Jennifer, changed the name of the business, I'm guessing to distance herself from bad word of mouth. This business used to be called Midwest Ragdolls. read more

I found Midwest Ragdoll while researching breeders and decided to give them a try despite seeing mixed reviews. I spoke with Jennifer Creed, who seemed quite busy and didn't have much time to discuss details, but I still placed a $250 deposit for a seal bicolor kitten. About a month later, Jennifer sent me pictures of a kitten. When I asked a few simple questions about its traits and appearance, she suggested that I take a seal mitted kitten instead of the seal bicolor I had originally reserved. When I asked whether the kitten would look like the father as an adult, she immediately mentioned refunding my deposit rather than answering. That response made me wonder if a seal bicolor kitten was ever actually available. The quick offer of a refund, along with the limited communication and lack of patience, left a poor impression. Overall, I found the experience unprofessional and disappointing. I truly wanted this to go well, but based on how things were handled, I wouldn't recommend Midwest Ragdoll. Update: i never said i didn't wanted, you were so impatient and rude answering my questions and wanted to refund the amount. I have posted the screenshots our chat on google review, so let the people judge you based on it. If you are at all hesitant in getting a Ragdoll kitten from Midwest Ragdolls based off of negative reviews don't be! I have been scammed by a very good fake breeder. After that horrible experience we started searching for someone reputable. I already have two Ragdolls, but the breeder I got them from is way too far for me to drive since moving to Nashville. I was willing to drive back to the Chicagoland area if we found a great breeder. We did some research and Midwest Ragdolls came up. We contacted DR. Jennifer Creed regarding a seal mitted female, and she replied immediately that she had one for us. She is very reasonably priced. Although, communication wasn't the greatest when we initially requested photos, and other info., but she always sent us what we requested within a few days of asking. I'm going to be very transparent on this review because I wish someone had done this when I was reading reviews. A few things weren't making sense to me as far as age, and pickup of the kitten. I was very hesitant, and unsure if I would actually follow through with picking the kitten up on the date given based off of negative reviews I was reading during my 7 hour drive up to Chicago. I read that her kittens were malnourished, too early to go home, they weren't socialized well, and that she was using her veterinarian status to fool people. After looking at her website again, I noticed all the kittens, and adult cats looked healthy and well cared for. When I decided I was going to move forward and pick my kitten up I did just that. I can not emphasize enough how opposite those negative reviews are. DR. Creed has a beautiful property her kittens are born, and raised on. She was extremely welcoming, pleasant, knowledgeable, and my gorgeous seal mitted baby girl was perfect! She is extremely social, lovable, snuggly, playful, clean, and healthy. After, meeting Dr.Creed, I now know that the slight lack of communication wasn't intentional. She's a full time veterinarian, mom, and on the side breeds Ragdolls for the love she has for them. I recently purchased a lynx girl and a mink boy from Dr. Jennifer Creed four weeks ago and picked up the girl last Thursday. Right after making the deposit, she sent me a picture of the girl. So I asked for a picture of the boy as well, but she did not reply. Initially, I was promised a male mink kitten to be delivered in 3-4 weeks. However, today she tried to offer me a girl mink or a boy lynx--the same ones she just posted on her Facebook page for December delivery. When I refused and questioned if the male mink actually existed, she said that if I still wanted one, it would have to come from a new litter in January. Had she explained that she mistakenly identified the sex of the kittens due to their young age, I would have accepted whatever was available. However, she claimed I told her I wanted a lynx boy when picking up the girl. This is a blatant lie, as I made it clear from day one--when she tried to offer me other kittens--that I only wanted a mink boy. This experience has completely ruined my travel plans. I would never have purchased the lynx girl had I known she would end up alone for that long. Update 11/26/24: Based on her response, it's clear this so-called Dr. Jennifer is both deceitful and a chronic liar. First, she sold me a mink boy that never existed, then tried to offer me something else. When that didn't work, she claimed I wanted a lynx boy--and a Thailand trip? lol The kittens she offered as replacements for the mink boy are only five weeks old and won't be available until mid-December. I've attached screenshots of our conversation to expose her lies. P.S. 1. There is a clause hidden at the end of the Pet Health Guarantee page that prohibits the buyer from making or publishing anything negative about her or her cattery; otherwise, the fine will be $2,500 for each statement, plus other expenses. This woman who goes by the name Jennifer Creed and also Jennifer Woll uses her Veterinarian status to sell kittens. She took my deposit and then would not answer simple questions.. for example when the kittens birthdate was, who the kittens mother was, when the kitten would be ready , she sent fake pictures of the kitten .. and complete run around. She was very very rude to deal with and said her personal life was too busy. She sells kittens before age 8 weeks and really does not want to share much about the kittens because she is just there to breed and make money. Stay clear of this one! read more

Posting under a fake name because there's a bullshit gag clause in the agreement to buy a cat. Took us a bit to notice problems and researched to see if the gag clause would hold up anywhere. Protip: it doens't. Bought a male mink ragdoll from this breeder. First few months, he exhibits extreme anxiety and behavioral issues. We thought he would grow to be better if we show him how to be calmer. However, the issue persists all the way into adulthood. The cat does not socialize, with humans nor with any other cat. Skittish and anxious when interacting with any other being. Vet thinks this is because he was either a runt or abused as a kitten. The issue is so severe that he would get physiologically ill when he's stressed out from social interactions. When we picked him up a few years ago, the lady who was going to sell us the kitten was not even home, and we had to pick him up from someone who's obviously not the person we talked to. Kind of a red flag and we should have backed out. Please be aware when purchasing kittens from this breeder. I've been meaning to post a review for a while now, but wasn't sure because of the gag clause. Knowing that she was veterinarian and extremely knowledgeable about cats was one of the deciding factors of choosing Midwest Ragdolls. We had to ask questions multiple times before getting an answer, if we even got one(typically we didn't). We purchased our 2nd ragdoll from Jennifer and brought him home back in March. We were very nervous about our 2 boys getting along because our first Ragdoll (Brutus) was 1.5 years old and 25lbs. We were worried about a negative interaction or play because the size difference! It didn't take long and the 2 of them are best pals. Maximus, our little guy is the sweetest, most loving, happy little cat ever. He plays and purs. You look at him he purs. He is such a joy to us all. He is the true definition of a Ragdoll and he is always limp and floppy as soon as you touch him. Brutus who we also got from Midwest Ragdolls does this too but much more mild. They are 2 completely different personality of cats. Both just amazing and hilarious together. Brutus is a seal point and Maximus is a lilac point. They bring us so much love and joy everyday. I would not suggest using this breeder. My husband and I picked up our blue-point kitten from Midwest Ragdolls back in June, and we love him. Though, this is not an honest breeder and is one who lacks critical communication skills. When I brought home the kitten that we were told was 8 weeks old, I took him straight to my vet of 20+ years for a wellness check. My veterinarian immediately said "either this cat is not 8 weeks, or he's been incredibly malnourished". He weighed in at 0.9 pounds at the supposed 8 weeks, when he should have been 2 or more. I have raised MANY kittens (from birth,even!) and are more than familiar with Our kitten had diarrhea for three days after we got him. One night in the midst of cooking, I dropped a large piece of cooked chicken on the floor. In an attempt to grab the chicken from him, he growled and swatted and quickly swallowed it whole. Healthy, normal kittens do not have this behavior. This shows signs of the previous need to battle for his own food, likely with the other cats in the cattery. When I called the breeder about my concerns, she said I should bring him back and that I wasn't fit to raise young kittens. I quickly stopped communication in fear of having my him taken from me. Jennifer claims to be a practicing veterinarian, but any quick web-search will tell you other wise, along with her lack of communication and care. Upon arrival, my husband asked to see our boy's parents. Jennifer's friendly daughter said "We don't let the boys of their cages". We should have turned around here. When she brought up our kitten, he was adorable and fluffy but REEKED! He smelled like an awful animal shelter and had poop on his butt. If you look at her website, there are CONSTANTLY available kittens or upcoming litters. And according to the website, there are very few females used in the breeding program. Cat mothers need break to remain healthy, as pregnancy is an incredible amount of stress. It does not seem they are getting the necessary time needed to recoup. Finally, these cats are NOT socialized. To this day, he is not accepting of new people. He loves my husband and I only, and hisses at others. These are not well-raised kittens and cats, and I would not suggest this breeder. read more
