I have 2 beautiful himi (seal point, blue lynx pt) babies that are by far and away the best dispositions of cats I've ever seen. Pretty sure it was due to superior breeding skills of Ruta. Mama wouldn't feed but Ruta bottle fed both and was their world until we adopted them. She has a beautiful environment for her very special babies . You will not find the blue eyes these boys had just anywhere. They both were sired from special himi's she bought and brought from a breeder in Spain. If you want to show, she will have babies that will take your breath away. My family was replacing a Persian and seal pt himmie that had passed of old age. I adored those as well, but the 2 from Ruta, just more than you could hope for if you just want them as a family member. The amount we paid, very reasonable for the love and beauty of these kitties! Again, Ruta is amazing and treats all her kittens like her human babies. We talked for hours and she even helped us to learn how to bathe them and was a trip back to her gorgeous home. We got Bella in May 2021, and she is the best cat breed I ever seen. She loves playing with our sons and she loves to socialize! Unlike other cats. I got a kitten during the pandemic and until now Ruta has not sent the paperwork for the cat. Cat is sweeet and affectionate but there are behavioral problems. I reached out and no reply. She promised to mail the papers and yet it never came. She kept insisting that the cat is more important than pedigree. I should have known. When a breeder keeps talking about how great her cats are and does not allow the product to speak for itself, thats a red flag. I am not sure if this cattery is still in business but if you are, pls send me Stryker's paperwork. read more

12/1/2017 I purchased two kittens from Elite Kittens in July 2017 and they are both wonderful. They are both flame point Himalayans and have playful and loving personalities. They bring such amusement, warmth and happiness to my home. The cattery is a warm and loving place and very well taken care of. All of the cats/kittens that I saw when I picked mine up were well attended and cared for. BEWARE/CAUTION: In June 2017, I purchased two Himalayan kittens from Elite Kitten/Ruta Miller. When I took them for their first vet exam a few days later, I learned that both kittens tested for the Feline Leukemia/HIV virus based on the ELISA test. The virus is highly contagious. Another kitten in my home (purchased from a different breeder) was exposed and could acquire the virus based on her interactions with the two kittens. Immediately upon learning of the positive test results, I informed Miller and requested a refund. I also offered to send her a copy of the test results from my vet. She did not dispute the test results and declined to receive a copy of the results. But, she agreed to refund the entire purchase price for both kittens, $1600. Two days later, Miller told me the mother of my kittens and one litter mate (there were six kittens in the litter) tested positive for the virus based on the ELISA test. Miller told me she separated the mother and litter mate from the rest of her cattery and she again agreed to give me a complete refund. Several days later I had not received my refund so I followed up with Miller. At this point she informed me that she had the mother and litter mate tested again this time the IFA test was performed. This test indicated that mother and kitten were negative and Miller implied that she would not be refunding my money. I requested to see written test results from her vet. Miller initially sent me the top third of the page that reflected a negative test result. However, I requested the complete page which revealed the labs interpretation of the test result- positive ELISA test & negative IFA test - "discordant results - possible immune carrier, focal infection or transient viremia. The outcome is unpredictable. Suggest retesting by ELISA and IFA in 30 - 60 days. (AAFP & AFM recommendation)" Miller tried to convince me that the mother and litter mate were free of the virus which is not consistent with the labs interpretation of the test results. (Miller indicated she that returned the mother and litter mate to her cattery based on the negative IFA result even though both are carriers of the virus.) Now it became contentious with Miller regarding the refund of my money. A few days later, Miller insisted that I agree that the purchase contract was void as a condition of refunding my money. Miller's contract contains a "Health Guarantee" which states "[t]the Breeder guarantees the kitten/cat to be healthy at the time of sale (to the best of our knowledge), FeLV/FIV-negative...This guarantee is valid for 14 days from the date of purchase..." Section 2 of the Health Guarantee states, "If the vet feels the animal is ill and that the illness was present prior to sale, the Breeder should be contacted at once... The Breeder will (upon receipt of a statement from the examining veterinarian that the illness was present prior to sale) pay the cost of medical treatment (up to the purchase price of the animal)... The total liability of the Breeder shall in no case exceed the purchase price listed on the first page of the contract." Even though Miller's contract says her liability for a kitten with an illness is the purchase price, Miller was argumentative about refunding my money. I did not ask Miller for several hundred dollars in expenses that I incurred which I would not have had I known the kittens had the virus. Miller admitted to me that the mother of the kittens entered her cattery in January 2017. She also admitted that she did not have the cat tested for the virus prior to or after the cat entered her cattery. This was the first litter by this cat/mother in Miller's cattery. Internet research indicates that it is standard/best practice to test a new cat that is entering a household with other cats. Miller is totally irresponsible that she relies on "willful blindness" as to illnesses that exist with her cats and kittens. It is unlikely that my kittens were ever seen by a vet prior to me adopting them. At the time I picked up the kittens from Miller, I asked her if the kittens had their second vaccination shot. She told me that they had not, but she offered to give the vaccination shot right then in her home or to give me the shot so I could do it later. After three weeks of arguments with Miller, she finally sent me two money orders representing the refund of the purchase price of the kittens. Miller informed me that she had a litter born in late June and a second litter born on July 17. Other issues with Miller, she represented on her website that one of my kittens was a blue lynx when she is in fact brown. Miller's cattery is not clean and has a strong smell of urine. Male cats are kept in a basement behind an iron gate. Females are kept upstairs in separate bedrooms. The only cats permitted to freely roam are cats that cannot breed. Miller has two Savannah cats, one of which is extremely aggressive. read more
