    Tagliatelle
    Debbie P.

We're huge fans of Vendemmia! It's such a cute neighborhood spot in Madrona! Our first visit was during happy hour for the $2 oysters from 4-5pm. My hubby and I only wanted to snack, so we had a few drinks, the oysters and shared the delicious Tonnarelli Del Mar, tomato fennel. This first visit made an impression, so we decided to visit again. On our second visit, we started with the Roasted Cabbage and shared the Tonarelli and Tagliatelle. All were great! But the absolute star was the Roasted Cabbage!!! It has anchovy, garlic and pistacchio - add a spritz of lemon to brighten up the dish and add some acidity - and it was devoured!!! The Tonarelli was made with squid ink and had clams and the Tagliatelle had braised beef. Both were delicous in their own rights, but I think we'll explore more of the Starters on our next go. Note their menu appears to change with the season. And service was great!

The pork chop here is THE BEST I've ever had at a restaurant. The chop was tender and perfectly cooked. The chutney had deep, rich tomato and mild Indian flavors. Portion size was generous. I will day dream about this thing! The server said this takes 35 minutes to cook, and it is worth the wait! My girlfriend also loved her CRESTE DI GALLO, which the server recommended. We also took the server's recommendation for an appetizer, the Beef Tartare. It was tender and savory with the toasted bread the perfect size for delivery. For dessert, we ordered the olive oil cake. The slice of cake was HUGE and would've been enough for four people. It was topped with a reddish pink, mildly sweet frosting that I *think* was rhubarb. Not entirely sure, but delicious regardless. Drinks were also delicious, but the food was tbe real star of the show! Service was attentive and the server gave great recommendations. Overall, phenomenal! Would highly recommend and look forward to returning soon!

This is such a wonderful little spot for happy hour or dinner in a very warm inviting space with some very tasty food. We did not try the pasta but when we go back, we are definitely going to try a couple of the pasta dishes. The warm freshly made focaccia was marvelous. The octopus was yummy and the sauce was bright and just the right amount of spice. The butter lettuce was so fresh with bright herbs, crunchy fruit, and thoughtfully placed dressing.

I'm never one for absolutes, but Vendemmia has the best tasting menu in Seattle. From portion sizes to variety to to-go boxes packed in between courses; we struck a goldmine. We tried booking for Valentine's, and even a month beforehand we found ourselves stonewalled. Bookings are likely not as competitive during non- Holiday season. From protein to veggies drizzled in white chocolate to wagyu, each course beautifully complimented the other. They are portioned to perfection- we never felt too stuffed nor in need of a supplement. As a wine snob, I was impressed. I don't even like Chardonnay, but I liked their pairing. Happy Dining to all!

We were looking for someplace to meet up with some friends while in Seattle and so we made a reservation at Vendemmia...we're glad we did! Here is what we noticed: - Great set of cocktail options...I had the Rachel's White Negroni, which I still can't stop talking about. - The food was amazing! I started with the Snap Peas with Dungeness Crab and my wife got the Frisee & Radicchio salad...that salad was especially good. For our meals, I got the Tonnarelli and my wife got the Tagliatelle. Both were great but, again, my wife's won out! - Service was really good...we were spending a lot of time catching up with our friends and didn't feel rushed at all, but we also didn't feel neglected. - Location had a cool, modern vibe! Bottom line: Great food, great atmosphere, great service...what else can you ask for?

This is a neighborhood part that we should go to more. It speciality is seafood and they do a great job. We had the salad and it was great as were the oysters. The cod was great as well. The location. Is lovely in Madrona with a nice quite location across from red cow and next to the Madrona bar. It's the kind of pal d we all want near us and a nice complement to red cow down the strett

Very cool Italian spot with heavy French influence ... Had the halibut (or cod?)...was honey, apple motifed deliciousness ...alongside oysters for an appy, a bottle of rose Prosecco bubbles and tonarelli... and some gelato to wash it all down...the latter being the sole thing we ordered that would not inspire a repeat... Gaston (the name we gave the French owner) took over our table and delighted us with his hospitality and good humor...even after being tested with his views on the Macrons (French president and wife brigiiiite whom may or may not have been born with a cannoli whilst pretending to be born with a clam) he maintained a very affable disposition with just the right about of counsel, feedback and charm. Well done Gaston , well done !

Stopped to grab a bite with a friend and it happened to be restaurant week! Staff was very friendly and warm, the food was delicious! We shared our meals , we had a wonderful pork chop and rigatoni. The flavors were robust and comforting. Everything was beautiful as you can see in the photos. Also great portions! This place can get busy so service may be a tad slow , just keep in mind.

Best Italian food I've ever had in the United States! Pricy but not tooooo pricy, and well worth it. Food is flavorful, large portion, great service, and romantic atmosphere. Will be coming back soon.

This review is long overdue. Vendemmia is our go-to restaurant! We are always warmly welcomed by the staff. They go above and beyond to make our experience special. The waiters are very professional and always make great food and drink recommendations. The ambiance of the restaurant is perfection. It's nicely lit, the seating is comfortable, and it never gets too loud. I also love the open kitchen where you can watch the chefs create magic! The food is impeccable. Every dish I have tried here has been a hit. Everything is so beautifully presented and all of the ingredients are incredibly fresh. My favorite dish is hands-down the spaghetti. I could eat this weekly!! I'm also a huge fan of the cocktails. They are perfectly balanced. My partner is obsessed with their selection of Negronis. Delish! They also have a great wine menu to choose from. I always look forward to dining here and make sure to recommend Vendemmia to friends and family. It's truly the best!

Great value for all the food you get on the chef's tasting menu. The food was well done, there was a great variety and a lot of it so we had to take home left overs. It's quaint inside too. Course 1: cod and baguette and a soft mozzarella with blueberries and bread. These were delicious and super filling! Course 2: baby carrots had a sweet purée that was very good. The radicchio was bitter and the sauce was a bit salty but some like that sort of thing. Course 3: lamb risotto was not games at all and quite nice. I usually don't like lamb but this was very good. cacio e pepe was so simple yet made so well. It was good! Course 4: duck and pork chop. Both were good but we were already so full from the previous 3 courses we couldn't finish. The duck was tender and not games at all. Again I typically don't like duck but this was good! Course 5: desserts. They gave us an extra one as we were celebrating a birthday. I'm not much of a sweets person but the mousse and gelato were a bit on the salty side. The tiramisu was nice. This was for the chefs tasting menu for 4 people. It was only $79 per person for all that food!

I noticed Vince U did not take a picture of the lamb, which was about the size of a half-dollar coin, if anyone remembers what those are LOL. Yes the two bites of lamb was decent but nothing to write home about. Agreed, the Risotto was very delicious indeed, salmon was great, chocolate desert was very, very good, otherwise the rest was OK. But I wouldn't agree to understanding the assignment, for us. I had the wine flight and I love a good wine. These were all OK wines. I get it, you have to watch your costs and make a good profit, to which I totally agree. I wish we would have tried Violet our first time for the regular menu. I'm guessing we would have rated 4 or 5 stars more than likely. For a bill of $400+ (including a great tip because we love to support) we felt like we were almost ripped off. I get it, it's a special occasion and lots of work goes in to these things but walking out of there $400+ poorer really made us feel bad, from a value perspective. We never mind paying for value, but this was not it and did not hit the mark for us.

They also give you a little coffee or tea to go as you walk home which is nice, and the cups are pretty cute. One thing to note, is we had the non-alchoholic drink pairing, and thought it would be more like cocktails without alcohol. I would suggest you look more at what it actually entails via the drink menu before you have it. It's a lot of fermented items, so if you don't like kambucha then I would suggest getting something else. Most the reviews I read mentioned the pancakes are the best item to get, so my girlfriend and I couldn't resist. This location is tucked away in the North Capitol Hill neighborhood surrounded by trees and older apartments/ homes, and the interior is just as relaxing and quaint. It's dark lit, intimate with modern fixtures and flowers, and has one centerpiece which caught my attention before anything else: a restored tower espresso machine which appeared to be from the 1950's. I'd only seen an espresso machine like this at the Kent Bakke Espresso Museum in Ballard, so as a coffee nerd with an emphasis on espresso, it was lovely to see. It took us about 5 minutes to get seated at the bar which is outstanding time for a brunch spot in Cap Hill on a Sunday. We were able to order within 5 minutes of deciding what we wanted, which was the bacon egg sandwich with avocado spread, omelette with hearth roasted potatoes, an espresso, and the main event, the pancake. I can't express how much the pancake exceeded my expectations. It was wide and tall, extremely fluffy, had decadent bourbon whipped cream and cinnamon stewed strawberries which is something I've craved for a long time. The menu states to wait 20 minutes for the pancake to cook and they miraculously got it to us in 10. The other breakfast items were tasty but left something to be desired, so we ordered extra Romesco sauce and they gave us a tub of it which helped immensely because of how much flavor and complexity was packed in it. The espresso was very fittingly a traditional Italian style dark roast from Caffe Umbria Roasters which hits the spot when hungover. We were also lucky enough to have sat right next to the espresso machine and the bartender kindly let me take a video of him pulling a shot which still gives me joy to this day. Speaking of the bartender, he happened to be one of the chefs working at the bar due to them being down a waiter and a chef which really speaks to how kindly we were treated despite dealing with an extremely short staffed Sunday. Our waitress and the rest of the staff also made us feel welcome and not as an irritant when making requests which is hard to find in Seattle. Overall, my experience at Single Shot left an extremely positive impression on me. We were assisted quickly, never felt as a bother, and got exactly what we needed to recover and enjoy the rest of our day. We will be back for that pancake and will encourage our friends and family to visit!

Though I think their weekend brunch reservations usually book out fast so would recommend snagging a reservation in most cases. The space is intimate, but when we went there were only a few other people there making for a slow-paced peaceful dining experience on a gloomy Seattle day. I was truly appreciative of them being able to accommodate to them since their intolerances are pretty restrictive. I had the omelette which was delicious, I tend to lean on the savory side and enjoyed all the layers of this dish. A bit of heat from the sauce, the freshness of the greens, and richness of the omelette balanced each other nicely and really brought this dish to life. However, I was truly SURPRISED by the pancakes. I have never had pancakes like this and they were incredibly delicious. The portion was insane though I think you could easily share the pancake with 4-6 people. I almost wish it also came in a personal size. Overall, I definitely recommend coming here to try the pancake. It was truly one of a kind and made this meal very memorable!

I was expecting them to be served warm or roasted, but they arrived cold, which was admittedly a misunderstanding on my part. The accompanying sauce was excellent though and definitely saved the dish for me. We also ordered the tajarin al ragù, one of the restaurant's signature dishes. Unfortunately, this was where my expectations and experience diverged. The pasta felt under-seasoned to me, and the noodles seemed overcooked. Rather than the silky texture I was hoping for, I found myself eating what felt like clumps of dough. It was a dish I really wanted to love given its reputation, but it just didn't click for me. We weren't looking for a heavy dinner, so we only ordered a couple of items. It's entirely possible we came on an off night or simply didn't choose the restaurant's strongest dishes. I'd be open to giving Cascina Spinasse another try in the future, but this visit left me feeling a bit underwhelmed compared to the hype.
