    Capesante cotte nel burro

It's been a while since my last visit many years ago, same amazing experience. We were seated promptly and the service was outstanding throughout the dinner. We got the tajarin burro e salvia and tajarin al ragù, both exceptional, really really good. Then my wife got the capesante cotte nel burro, which she liked, and I got the maiale brasato al latte, which was absolutely fabulous, melt in your mouth tender meat. I loved it. We finished with a panna cotta and a chocolate bonet, both very good. What an amazing dinner at Cascina Spinasse, highly recommended!

Very beautiful and intimate restaurant! The service is amazing - we had questions about the wine menu and they had brought out samples of wines they recommended to try! All the dishes we had were really delicious. Their butter noodles (tajarin con burro e salvia) are amazing texture wise! This is what our server had recommended to us. Highly recommend getting the desserts as well! The semifriedo and the tart were both delicious! Will definitely be back to try everything else!

    Great wine!

Update to my last review 14 years ago... Yes, still fantastic in all the ways I described years ago. Even the prices seem to not be out of sight and the atmosphere and food are fantastic. That said, I don't like setting in the area by the door and always request to be seated in the original restrauant space to the left of the entrance for a more subdued and romantic atmosphere. Tempted to eat everything on the menu for the $120/person, but we ate just about everything we liked and was absolutely stuffed. For the first time patrons you must eat a half portion of the Tajarin Con Burro E Salvia and the Tajarin Al Ragu. As in "Top Gun" don't think just do. The waiter, Brent picked out a wine and it was fantastic as I posted a photo for that bottle of Barbra D'Asti DOCG Superiore Ca'DiPian 2023. Parking just beside the resturant for $4/hr. They reserve the counter for walk-ins, but I would make a reservation and request to be seated in the original resturant space away from the front door reception area for more romantic atmosphere.

Celebrated a birthday here last night. We ordered the tasting menu for $120/person and was a great deal. So much delicious food and you don't leave feeling hungry. You actually leave feeling extremely stuffed! I loved every item we were served (that I could eat at least. I was too full to finish everything). My favorite was the stuffed onions, which went very well with the bread, as well as the ragu pasta. The fried chicken also had such a delicious, crispy but delicate skin. Service was similarly great. Eric was great at explaining things and giving tips for the meal. No complaints. As for ambiance, it was still decorated for Christmas with wreaths and pine garlands. I liked how cozy and romantic the place felt. No big lights here, only candles and small yellow bulbs. It is a pretty small space though so tables are pretty close together. It was very easy to eavesdrop on others so would not recommend hosting a very private convo here. I am giving a 4/5 stars though because VERY soon after eating I got an upper stomachache and diarrhea that I do not suspect is from eating too much. I'm not sure how this happened as I don't think anything was raw or undercooked. I have a good impression of the place still (the food and service was great) but it has been a bummer dealing with this for the past day.

Amazing all around! Service was great, food was delicious. Ambience is low lighting perfect for date night. Super filling so it's a perfect option for family style.

Nice Ambiance and good service but all of the dishes was super salty and we were unable to enjoy them.

I came around 5pm on a Saturday without a reservation. The line was already out the door. When I made it to the front, I was told that 7:30pm would be the first available spot for a walk-in. I had a feeling it wouldn't take that long, so I gave them my contact information, and went to a local cafe in the meantime. Sure enough, I received a text at 6:30pm that they had a spot for me. The restaurant is cozy and welcoming. It has an open kitchen concept that lets you watch their team prepare dishes throughout the night. I started with a half portion of the tajarin con burro e salvia (fine-cut egg yolk pasta with cultured butter and sage). I liked how it was simple, yet very flavorful. Next, was a half portion of the risotto alla barbabietola con La Tur (roasted beet risotto with la Tur cheese). La Tur is a blend of cow, goat, and sheep milk, and its creamy and rich flavor complemented the beet risotto. For a side dish, I opted for the carote arrostite con salvia (roasted carrots with sage). Unfortunately, some of the carrots lacked flavor, while others tasted a bit too charred. Finally for dessert, I enjoyed four scoops of the nectarine tarragon sorbet. It was light, fruity, refreshing, and not too sweet. If I come back in the future, I will try to arrive before 5pm to minimize the wait time. I might try an appetizer, but I will likely opt for full portions of their pasta dishes, and finish with dessert.

I went here ages ago but still dream about the angel hair pasta. We enjoyed our meal and the service sitting outside in 2022. It's pricy but I think worth it for a special occasion.

This place kind of a rustic feel feel to it but serves high quality food. They fave us a complimentary cracker with butter than anchovy on it. It was delicious and I wish I could order more. This restaurant is famous for their northern Italian thin pasta made with plenty of egg yolks. I got their signature one with butter and sage - fantastic. You can taste the egginess from the simplicity of the sauce. Next was the same pasta but with pork and beef ragu. The ragu itself was good but unfortunately, it just covered the delicacy of the pasta taste and this ragu could have just been on any pasta and would taste good. It is just wasted on the tajarin. The third one I tried was the cavatelli with braised short ribs. I'm not sure if the cavatelli was also made with the same dough as the tajarain but again the meat sauce covered all the intrinsic flavor of the pasta. The braised short ribs is definitely good but I could have had this on rice and it would be just as good. I would come to try their original butter sage tarajin. They gave complimentary bread. I guess in Italy butter does not come with bread but it felt dry just eating it so we asked for some and they were happy to provide some. My only gripe is that it is $33 for a dish that is not filling. My friend and I shared 3 pastas and it still wasn't filling. That means about $60+ a person for dinner at a not to high end restaurant.

Some of my best meals have been here. We tried the tasting menu last time, and it was the perfect way to sample everything on the menu at a great price, with ideal portions for two. Spinasse never misses, and we'll continue to come here as long as they're open. The service is phenomenal, and the ambiance is perfect for a date night. They also take walk-ins, which is always a plus. We're coming back for Valentine's Day and already can't wait.

Someone recommended this place and I'm so glad we listened! Best pasta I've ever eaten... even better than any I had in Italy last summer. We had the butter and sage pasta and the pasta with beef and pork. It was so light and delicious! Anyone visiting Seattle should definitely go to this place! We got a seat at the bar and watched them making the pasta! We also had a delicious scallop and asparagus first course. Best meal we had in Seattle!

My boyfriend took me to this restaurant for a late Valentine's Day dinner celebration. We had been wanting to try it for a while, and luckily he was able to score a reservation. Upon entering the restaurant, we were led to our table by the host, who was very kind and showed us where the bathrooms were located and where we could hang our coats. The whole ambiance was nice and cozy, and the staff seemed very attentive. When we were given the menu, I'm not going to lie, it looked very overwhelming. But after overhearing a server explain the menu to an equally confused couple, my boyfriend and I understood how to approach it. We ended up getting a couple of Negroni cocktails, the Cipollini Ripieni, and two of the pastas our server recommended, half Tajarin con Burro e Salvia and half Tajarin al Ragù. For our secondi, we ordered the Guancia di Manzo Brasata al Barolo. Everything came out in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious. The portions were perfect for the two of us. We especially loved how juicy the Cipollini Ripieni was. The pastas were also our favorites. We were thankful to have ordered half portions of each because we were already getting full before our last dish arrived. The pasta was so good, we loved the texture, and it's amazing that it's all made in house. From where we were sitting, we could partially see the chefs cooking, which was very cool. We loved the intimate dining experience. Our secondi was possibly my all time favorite dish of the night. The Guancia di Manzo Brasata al Barolo was so tender, it melted in your mouth. The purée was delicious, and the pomegranates complemented the flavors beautifully. As full as we were from all the delicious food, we still made a little room for dessert because we wanted to make sure their desserts were just as good as their savory dishes. We were debating between two options but ultimately chose the Pera Millefoglie. When the server brought our dessert, she also surprised us with the Zuppa Inglese con Mele we had been considering. She was so sweet and said it was on the house because she knew we were stuck between the two and wanted us to experience both. The desserts were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the creaminess and sweetness of each. Not only was the food an incredible experience, but we are also thankful for our server for being so attentive, as well as the other staff who promptly cleared our plates. Our water glasses were always refilled, and the table was quickly cleaned after each course. This experience was absolutely worth it. I can see why reservations are hard to get. This was possibly the best dining experience I have had in a while. We will definitely be back.

Whenever I give Italian food in other cities a chance, I'm always left a little disappointed. Not to say the food or service at Cascina Spinasse was bad, but the only real standout was the pasta. Coming in, my partner and I were quickly seated near the window for our reservation. The vibe is cozy, casual, approachable. Our waiter, a jolly and attentive fellow, gave us the rundown that Spinasse is proudly Northern Italian, highlighting the best of what Piedmont has to offer. He was very informative and gave us a few recommendations. To start the meal, we were given complimentary bites of sardines on toast. Pretty good and not fishy. Then we got the antipasto misto della casa which is a sampler plate of four different appetizers: prosciutto with melon, cucumber salad, another salad (forgot what it was), and the chickpea salad. And an order of the fried squash blossoms. The appetizers were the definition of mid. The best appetizer was the squash blossoms but not by a large margin. The pastas, the tajarin and cavatelli, were much better. The tajarin, thin cut egg noodles, were the perfect texture and the way it's served traps the steam inside of the pasta making it perfectly piping hot when it reaches the table. I preferred the butter sage one which is simply tasty but I also enjoyed the pork and beef ragú version which surprisingly tasted like it had cheese in it when it didn't. The cavatelli was also tasty with a nice chew. To have with our meal, we opted for some wine that was picked out by our server. While the wine profiles matched what we described as our ideal wine, they fell flat for us. They weren't unique and were pretty one note. But at least we ended on a high note with the pinenut tart with roasted plum and sage gelato which tasted nutty, herbaceous, and balanced. As someone who has had better Italian food for less than half the price, and has also had better Northern Italian food for double the price I paid at Spinasse, my conclusion is this: Spinasse has decent pasta but not much else. If you go, get a large portion of pasta and a dessert. Seattle is not the place to go to get Italian food.

Thanks! Also, is the service quick and polite? I'd like to know two more things, What's the rush hour and is the food "top-notch"?

Definitely recommend a reservation but if you walk in at open there are usually some bar seats available

Do they do walk-ins with no reservation?

Definitely need a reservation - they book out very far in advance

Does this place have cheese wheel pasta?

Not that I'm aware of. I'm assuming you mean the pasta where you put it in the big wheel of cheese so it gets cheesy. This place is a little more traditional/artisan than that, but their sage and butter pasta is amazing!! They make all their pasta… Read more

    Do you have air conditioning?

    Are the noodles handspun?

Hi D’andra, Pasta at Spinasse is made in house and cut by hand. Thanks for reaching out!

    Do you have delivery?

Hi Katie, Thanks for reaching out. No delivery, but we do have Tock for pickup: exploretock.com/spinasse-artusi.

Making a reservation is nearly impossible, even when trying two weeks out. Do you offer walk in? What's the best way to snag a table?

I believe the do welcome walk-ins, but they are seated outside. It's covered and there are heaters. Honestly, the food is not that great to warrant sitting outside. Wait for the reservation - they open them 2 weeks in advance and you need to call… Read more

Do you offer any gluten free options?

Hello! Our pasta is not gluten free, but we do have antipasti, main and side dishes that are gluten free.

Is there bar seating? I'm thinking about dinner as a part of 1 and am content with bar seating if available.

There's Artusi with plenty of bar seating. It's their same / adjacent/ sister restaurant in that location and they share the kitchen. The bar is also prettier too. Might have a slightly different menu but pasta are just as tasty as sitting on the… Read more

Do your meatballs contain fennel or anise seasonings?

Hi Jessica, Yes, our meatballs are seasoned with fennel. Thx! Spinasse and Artusi

How to cancel a reservation? They never picked up their phone or called back when I left voicemail.

Sorry they are usually very responsive... if you leave a message that's all you can do !

Can you walk in or reservation only?

They take walk-ins at the dining counter and at a couple of tables, but seating is mostly reserved.

My family will be visiting Seattle and I've been wanting to try their tajarin for ages! I've read young kids wouldn't do well in this restaurant as it's more romantic/upscale. Is there truly no option of ordering the dish to go? (Silly ?, sorry!)

Good news! They now have takeout. Their tajarin you must make at home to preserve the quality, but it's super easy and fast.

Anyone know the corkage fee pls?

I believe it's $25. I went there last summer and that's what it was.

What other dish would you recommend besides the butter & sage pasta?

    Potato duck

How far in advance should I make a reservation?

I booked about 4-weeks in advance but space was limited for prime time slots (7:30 PM). Other much later time slots were available.

Thinking of bringing my 1-year-old here for dinner. Do you think this place accommodates?

Technically they allow children, but I'd get a sitter. The place is quaint and has a romantic vibe. I've seen kids before but rarely and they were older and super well behaved. You know your kiddo best but I always get a sitter when we go. Good news… Read more

Didn't see tajarin on the menu, showed the picture on yelp to the waiter too and still got a no, so it's no longer served?

It's a signature dish at the restaurant. I sincerely doubt it was removed from the menu.

We were lured over to Due' Cucina after having a fantastic experience with their fresh porchetta…read moresandwiches at the Camp Yelp event earlier this month. Fatty and tender meat, dripping with juices, on top of the perfect focaccia with an ideal crunchy fried crust and airy interior, not to mention the excellent marinated eggplant, tender and filled with tangy vinegar essence. I couldn't wait to give their actual restaurants a try, and that's where we found ourselves over the rainy weekend. This particular location is open and clean with extremely friendly staff. Ordering is really easy on the 3 kiosks in the front, although the pasta chef/cashier is also happy to take orders, offer suggestions, and help with any questions. The menu displays the level of al dente to expect with each type of pasta but can be adjusted in the order notes. They also have a very convenient monitor up near the kitchen that displays order status, whether in the preparation phase or complete. I especially love how this restaurant has bar seating in front of the fresh pasta making station. We were able to watch as the chef mixed up a batch of fresh spaghetti, measuring out the semolina flour and water (at least, that's all I saw her add to the combo mixer-extruder), preparing the die, and then extruding the pasta. And yes, as with any high quality pasta, they use bronze dies for extrusion here! The pasta is dried on racks for a bit to really give that al dente bite when cooked. Suppli Al Telefono ($3.70) - An order comes with a single piece nestled in a mini fry basket. This is somewhat similar to the more commonly seen (in the US at least) arancini. It's a smaller log-shaped fried croquette, with tender rice cooked in a fragrant tomato based sauce, stuffed with tons of gooey, stretchy cheese, and then deep fried to golden perfection. The breading is fantastically crunchy, contrasting against the much softer interior. It's a great pairing of texture and flavor. (5/5) Short Ribs Ragu w/ Fusilloni ($14.90) - The chef recommended the fusilloni with the ragu. The fusilloni, essentially a larger fusilli that has longer "fins", has plenty of spirals and crevices to catch onto the sauce. The extrusion is a little inconsistent, with some pieces being longer than others and others being more spirally, a sign of manual hand cutting rather than being machine sliced. Per the menu, the fusilloni is cooked until a "2" al dente level. This is actually more al dente than most Italian restaurants, meaning the pasta has a very firm bite, yet remains slightly chewy. It's definitely cooked through and pleasant to eat, although trending towards the too al dente side. The pasta is only lightly sauced, but what sauce there is clings perfectly onto the micro rough surface of the pasta. Each bite is consistent in taste with all the rich umami and tangy notes from the red wine tomato sauce. The parmigiano reggiano adds an additional burst of savory saltiness and the short rib, rendered perfectly tender, is given in enough quantity to satisfy. Due Cucina really does serve some great pasta. (5/5) Rustic Porchetta Sandwich ($11.90) - With how great the porchetta sandwich was at Camp Yelp, this is a disappointment. The porchetta, while still flavorful with somewhat anise-like and garlicky aromas, is completely dried out and tough. It's like the pork had been pre-sliced in the morning at a central kitchen, shipped to the restaurant, then placed in a dry heat tray for service. After the meal I confirmed my suspicions with the chef - the porchetta is prepared off site and and driven over every morning. The focaccia, so airy and crisp at Camp Yelp, is also subpar in store. It's floppy, completely saturated with oil, yet feels dried out on the interior. At least the eggplant hasn't degraded in quality too much. While still having a bite (e.g. not super tender), it's grilled and marinated until tangy and savory in a vinaigrette. Interestingly they serve the sandwich on top of a bed of lettuce tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette. The oils in the sandwich drip down while eating to add even more flavor. (3/5) I know that their porchetta is high quality when fresh, but I think the way they have it set up now makes a sandwich that's still tasty, but definitely could be much better. If they choose to open a specialty sandwich shop that roasts the porchetta in house, I'd definitely be a regular. With Due' Cucina, though, I'd stick with the excellent pasta. At the end of the day, pricing is very reasonable. For less than $40 after tax/tip, we both left satisfied. What a rarity for Seattle nowadays. And as a bonus, apparently they refresh the menu often. According to the chef, starting on Monday, Due Cucina will be introducing new pasta shapes, sauces, and different sandwiches. I'll be back for more pasta in the near future! Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms that require a code to enter.

The short rib ragu and bolognese were 2x pasta to sauce, which was surprisingly dry given they were swimming in oil. Pasta is obviously homemade and tasty. Next time we'd plan to eat in the restaurant rather than doing takeout.

Seattle has completely revamped their pizza experience over the last 5 years. It's almost as if…read morethere was some sort of city council committee that was tasked with elevating the goods of the local dough purveyors in order to attract citizens from far and wide to The Emerald City. Let me tell you, Lupo is high on my list of "Best 'Za In Seattle", and it will be on yours as well. The waiter told us something about how they're "fancy pizza but not stuck up" (not a direct quote), which fits right in with Seattle gastronomic philosophy. It's worth trying to get here early in the night, because it can be difficult to get a seat. And you want to have some time to sit down and enjoy this pizza. Make sure you wear your best sitting pants though, because you're in for a meal that will make you progressively adjust the belt loops as time goes on. I'm sure that there are plenty of top notch pizzas across the menu here, but the Caesar salad may have been a best-in-class item. The dressing was perfectly balanced with just enough anchovy taste, and there was exactly enough of it on every bite. Instead of having croutons in the salad, they had a heaping portion of toasted breadcrumbs that made each bite so much more interesting. Caesar himself would be proud. All of the pizzas sounded great, but I was pretty sure that they would be able to execute on a cacio e pepe flawlessly here, and I wasn't disappointed. The initial bite was everything that I could have hoped for. But I would make sure that you demolish this pizza promptly - it's not one that's great as leftovers. I think that is the case for most pizza of this style anyways. I am ridiculously excited about coming back to Lupo in the future to try more pizzas. If you are currently reading this and haven't been here yet, I strongly urge you to close this review and head there immediately!

We ordered two pizzas, a funghi and a margherita, and added burrata which was 100% the right call. The funghi had this deep earthy mushroom flavor that was just so satisfying. The margherita was simple but spot-on, and the burrata added this extra hit of creaminess that took it over the top. Both pies had a generous amount of parmesan that was honestly perfect. We're usually the people who leave the crust behind but we ate every last bit and wanted more.

Everything tasted fresh and beautifully prepared. We finished with dessert and espresso, which were just as impressive. The lemon cake was light, fluffy, and perfectly citrusy, and the tiramisu was creamy and indulgent with a lovely chocolate drizzle. The espresso was smooth with a great crema and paired perfectly with dessert. A special shoutout to our server Manuel, who was outstanding. He was warm, attentive, and made the experience even better. We also loved the small, cozy atmosphere -- it felt welcoming and charming, the kind of place where you want to sit, relax, and enjoy your meal. We'll definitely be back

FOOD POISONING ALERT…read more I'm 8 months pregnant and came here on Mother's Day with my husband and toddler, hoping for a nice family celebration. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. I ordered the seafood linguine special, while my husband had the veal marsala. The seafood in my pasta immediately tasted off -- especially the clams and mussels, which seemed old and likely frozen for far too long. Even my toddler, who normally LOVES seafood pasta at Italian restaurants, refused to take a second bite after trying it. I enjoyed seafood pasta from many other places but could barely finish my food that day. Later that night, I developed severe abdominal pain. At 8 months pregnant, any cramping is terrifying, and I genuinely thought I might be going into labor. After hours of pain coming and going, bloating, gas, vomiting, and diarrhea the next day, it became pretty obvious the food was the cause. Ruined Mother's Day and caused unnecessary stress during pregnancy. I will never order seafood from here again.

BEST IDEA EVER. It was legitimately one of the best dinners I have ever had. There were 9 courses total, and everything the chef brought out was incredible. The service was wonderful and personal and attentive from the chef to the bartender to the wine director. So while I already would recommend this place to any serious fan of Italian cuisine, I cannot speak highly enough of the Nonnakase experience. Absolutely worth every penny. Also the bathrooms are delightful. Great vibe, don't miss out.

And then I recalled why I didn't want to come back from the first experience. First, the location is unique, and I really appreciate that this business is trying to keep Georgetown alive with cool quirky places to eat. This def fits the bill. But, I couldn't help but notice the political statement taped to the front window, super classy. I dine out to escape my day. I don't need it thrown in my face at dinner. Next, when the menus were brought to us, it was for their 3 course restaurant week special. $50 per person, and there are two choices per course. My family all chose what we wanted and then waited for the meal. Like previous reviewers, the wine is brought out in oversized shot glasses not really, but might as well be). I get that in Italy, dinner wine (peasant fare) is served in cups, not stemware, but $18 for mediocre wine, I'd like to see a more appropriate pour. Lamb Polpettine was essentially lamb meatballs on a cold and very loose polenta with what was described as salsa diavola, but it was essentially a chunky red sauce. There was nothing about this that wowed us. In fact, it was pretty bland overall and underwhelming. But the manner in which you are greeted and served at the restaurant and the remainder of service, you would think it was going to change how you felt about food. I don't even want to go into the salad. Again, underwhelming. The mains came out and although tasty, the portions were very small compared to the price we paid. And if you opt for the truffle, it's finely grated and it covers the entire plate. Also, it's an extra $12......for less than $2 worth of black truffle. It absolutely ruined the dish. An educated server would be able to caution against it, if, of course it wasn't intended to raise the final price, essentially raising the tip. If you order risotto there, be fair warned, it is extremely loosed and not very well made imo. Bland, lacks imagination, and the rice grains were cracked and soggy on the ends and crunchy in the middle.. Last was the dessert. Again, it was tasty, but it comes in these tiny jars that equal about 2-3 spoonfuls of either panna cotta, or tiramisu. At the end of our meal, the bill was over $250. For that price, I could have eaten somewhere where I could have left a little more satisfied and felt like I was actually in an upscale restaurant, not a political statement masquerading as fine dining. Having worked food for a long time, I felt obligated to leave the customary 20% gratuity knowing full well the workers there made their "living wage" before the gratuity kicks in. It included an additional 2% to pay for employee health insurance. Isn't that an employer cost? Why put that on the check? Anyway, out the door for $300 and vowing never to come back. Buyer beware.

During HH, they offer 50% off bar menu items, which is a spectacularly good deal. My partner and I ordered the carbonara and the ragu, and both were very good but the carbonara was amazing (flavorful, creamy, not too salty or cheesy, decadent without feeling too deadly). The tiramisu is a very good dessert with a nice strong espresso flavor and not too much sweetness. Our waitress kindly checked in right before 7pm to make sure we had any additional orders in before happy hour ended, which is a mark of excellent service. The bathroom is clean and brightly lit. I'd be happy to come back!

They close…read moreat 11, & I called an around 10pm and was very respectful about it ...I literally said, "I know it's late, please let me know if your kitchen is closed. I can just do takeout." I tried to order the fettuccine de mare, listed at $29 (no extra fees on Toast), but they told me it would be $43. That already didn't make sense. Then the server says, "We actually have 50% off happy hour until 11, come in and dine." So I came in. Ordered a drink, escargot, and a steak medium rare. The escargot came out fine. Then... nothing. 39 minutes later (at 10:45pm), the server asks if I'm waiting on anything else. Yes... my steak. She goes to check, disappears, and then comes back with something that honestly felt DISTESPECTFUL. The steak looked like scraps. Uneven, mismatched chunks, all different sizes, with burnt, crispy edges and covered in sauce like they were trying to hide it. It didn't look like a single cut of meat it looked like pieces from multiple steaks thrown together. The plating was sloppy, and the side looked like an afterthought. I didn't take a bite. I looked through it and said, "This looks like pieces from different steaks." She told me she watched them cut it... then immediately followed that by saying she saw them put it under a heat lamp to reheat. So which is it? I work in the food industry. I'm not going to be gaslit over a plate like that. She offered to refire it, but at that point it was almost 11 and they were closing. I paid for my drink and left. Honestly, I wouldn't have been upset if they had just told me the kitchen was closing when I called. But don't invite me in, forget my order, and then serve something like this and try to pass it off like it's normal. Just be honest.

We were…read morepleasantly surprised by our experience and this was notably one of the better meals we've ever shared together. When we first arrived we were given the option of either the chef's counter or a table. I thought the chef's counter was a unique experience but for the night we opted for a table near the window. The space is intimate and even though there weren't many people there when we first got there, it still gave a warm and cozy vibe (quickly filled up though). The week of my friend's birthday they were only doing Seattle Restaurant Week, which I hadn't realized at first but the menu was amazing regardless. The staff was very attentive to us, constantly checking in on us and making any adjustments as needed. They thoughtfully walked us through our choices and when the food arrived. First we started with appetizers which I thought it was nice that you get to try all them and didn't have to choose one. The salad and asparagus is what you would expect, but they were perfectly done and not overly complex. The stand out was the Seared Tombo, the flavors of this dish were balanced and the fish was clearly very fresh! For our main we both got the halibut option, which came with a side of sunchokes. We had never had sunchokes before but were immediately in love (the fish was cooked to perfection too) but I loved the introduction of not so common ingredient. I thought it was a fun play on traditional "potatoes" almost. I'm glad we were able to try both of the desserts. My favorite was the tiramisu (I always love tiramisu). The carrot cake was more on the dryer side (almost like a cornbread), which isn't my preference but I enjoyed the flavors. Overall, really enjoyed this place and would definitely come back!

What went well: - service…read more- ambiance Not so well: - food at price point In short, my friends and I enjoyed ourselves for dinner last night, but I struggled to wrap my head around the price points... $47 for halibut and "greens". The halibut size was smaller than average, and the greens consisting of two small artichoke halves and a single branch of collards. Similarly, we paid $23 for a seared tombo and were given four thin slices of meat. I feel slightly robbed paying about $80 and leaving quite hungry. The food was good, but by no means would I argue this is worth going out of your way for.
