    So the crux of my review is that the food was really tasty, but they had quite small portions especially for price. I had an app and a pasta and left hungry. My partner shared the app with me and had a flatbread and was also somewhat hungry too. The service was really good through most of the meal, though when they got busy later we did wait a little while to ask for the check after plates were cleared, but we weren't in a hurry so it was fine and the service was overall very attentive. The ambiance was pretty cool because it was classy and modern, though I didn't love our table behind the column as it made it difficult to see the windows. Would recommend a reservation if you're coming at 6 or later.

    Pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! I'm a local to the neighborhood and have been waiting for this Italian spot to open! When I saw they were offering a Restaurant Week deal, I knew I had to try it. I made a reservation for two about a week in advance for a weeknight and it was already pretty filled up, so be sure to make a reservation in advance. Right when you walk in, it's a jaw dropping entrance that you wouldn't know from the outside. The host was super attentivene with a friendly demeanor, greeting us immediately. We were seated at the table for two right at the front so it was bustling, with the door opening, people walking in and waiting for their table. Since our dinner started at 5:30PM we got to see the transition from early evening into the later evening. It got pretty loud but that's what to expect. Absolutely loved the European moody ambiance with arches, wooden beams, candles, and artwork. Since it was restaurant week, pretty simple menu to select from. It was four courses and it was two of us so we got to try a lot of things. We started with the caesar salad and rainbow carrots. The salad was lightly seasoned and fresh while the carrots were glazed, roasted and on the sweeter side. A nice light start to dinner. Next was the lobster tagliarini and short rib ravioli. The tagliarini was so thin and light, and the sauce was delicious. The ravioli was my favorite, with a generous amount of meat and complimenting sauce. For the next course, we got scallops and steak. The scallops were cooked perfectly with a creamy herb sauce on top. The sauce was the highlight for sure. The steak was cooked exactly how we liked it with mashed potatoes. So tasty! We finished with dessert: olive oil cake and hazelnut affogato. Together they paired very well and was a fabulous end to the meal! Additionally, the service was wonderful. Our server was so friendly. Our plates and utensils were replaced a few times, water was refilled quickly, and we were asked multiple times how everything was going. Even when the food came out a little quicker than expected while we were still on our first course, our server apologized but it was all good for us. I was pleasantly full from everything and so happy with we tried this place out! Service was great and the ambiance felt like nothing I've experienced in Seattle before. I will definitely come back again to try the pizza!

    Everything was a 10/10. We started with a prosciutto plate and prosecco. Then my Ribeye with carrots and asparagus came out. Ribeye was perfectly cooked and the waiter perfectly paired a red wine for me. I almost ordered my son a kids plate but opted for the ragu on the menu and I'm so glad I did. The only issue was he did not want to share! Ended dinner with the apple cake and donuts and they were both amazing. The service was attentive and many people came by to check on us. The ambiance was dreamy. I love the dimly lit yet lively vibe. Can't wait to come back!

    had a lovely dinner sitting at the bar on a Monday night. the ambiance is incredible and felt so cozy on an otherwise dreary night. Started with the Caesar, which easily could be shared between two. The short rib risotto was some of the best risotto I've had - didn't leave a single morsel behind. Ended my dinner with an affogato. Service was great, the crowd was lively and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back.

It's minimally furnished with just the right amount of ambient lighting. Secondly, it's Italian, but Piedmontese Italian if that means anything to you. We started with crespelle ($29) which is an Italian crepe. The version we ordered was stuffed with prosciutto and parmigiana fonduta with arugula salad. The crepe was light and airy and paired perfectly with the salty prosciutto and parm. Perfect starter. Honestly, all the pastas we ordered were absolute fire. Of the three, I liked the Tajarin Al ragù ($20/$34) the most. It's a fine hand-cut egg yolk pasta with pork and beef ragù. The pasta is so finely cut; it's delicate. What I liked best was the way the ragù sauce enveloped itself into the folds of the pasta. Each bite was cohesive and really intentional. The risotto was also quite good as well - that night, it was the risotto ai gamberi ($21/$35) which highlight spot prawns. The spot prawns were sweet and the Calabrian chili was a really nice complement to the sweet and creamy. Delish. I'm sure the risotto is great in any season. I must say - the best thing about the menu is the fact that you can order a smaller portion of any of the pasta dishes as to not have to fully commit to one. This is a superb way to eat. Live actually. Include Spinasse on any itinerary if you can.

Let me tell you, Lupo is high on my list of "Best 'Za In Seattle", and it will be on yours as well. The waiter told us something about how they're "fancy pizza but not stuck up" (not a direct quote), which fits right in with Seattle gastronomic philosophy. It's worth trying to get here early in the night, because it can be difficult to get a seat. And you want to have some time to sit down and enjoy this pizza. Make sure you wear your best sitting pants though, because you're in for a meal that will make you progressively adjust the belt loops as time goes on. I'm sure that there are plenty of top notch pizzas across the menu here, but the Caesar salad may have been a best-in-class item. The dressing was perfectly balanced with just enough anchovy taste, and there was exactly enough of it on every bite. Instead of having croutons in the salad, they had a heaping portion of toasted breadcrumbs that made each bite so much more interesting. Caesar himself would be proud. All of the pizzas sounded great, but I was pretty sure that they would be able to execute on a cacio e pepe flawlessly here, and I wasn't disappointed. The initial bite was everything that I could have hoped for. But I would make sure that you demolish this pizza promptly - it's not one that's great as leftovers. I think that is the case for most pizza of this style anyways. I am ridiculously excited about coming back to Lupo in the future to try more pizzas. If you are currently reading this and haven't been here yet, I strongly urge you to close this review and head there immediately!

The margherita was simple but spot-on, and the burrata added this extra hit of creaminess that took it over the top. Both pies had a generous amount of parmesan that was honestly perfect. We're usually the people who leave the crust behind but we ate every last bit and wanted more.

Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. I ordered the seafood linguine special, while my husband had the veal marsala. The seafood in my pasta immediately tasted off -- especially the clams and mussels, which seemed old and likely frozen for far too long. Even my toddler, who normally LOVES seafood pasta at Italian restaurants, refused to take a second bite after trying it. I enjoyed seafood pasta from many other places but could barely finish my food that day. Later that night, I developed severe abdominal pain. At 8 months pregnant, any cramping is terrifying, and I genuinely thought I might be going into labor. After hours of pain coming and going, bloating, gas, vomiting, and diarrhea the next day, it became pretty obvious the food was the cause. Ruined Mother's Day and caused unnecessary stress during pregnancy. I will never order seafood from here again.

But, I couldn't help but notice the political statement taped to the front window, super classy. I dine out to escape my day. I don't need it thrown in my face at dinner. Next, when the menus were brought to us, it was for their 3 course restaurant week special. $50 per person, and there are two choices per course. My family all chose what we wanted and then waited for the meal. Like previous reviewers, the wine is brought out in oversized shot glasses not really, but might as well be). I get that in Italy, dinner wine (peasant fare) is served in cups, not stemware, but $18 for mediocre wine, I'd like to see a more appropriate pour. Lamb Polpettine was essentially lamb meatballs on a cold and very loose polenta with what was described as salsa diavola, but it was essentially a chunky red sauce. There was nothing about this that wowed us. In fact, it was pretty bland overall and underwhelming. But the manner in which you are greeted and served at the restaurant and the remainder of service, you would think it was going to change how you felt about food. I don't even want to go into the salad. Again, underwhelming. The mains came out and although tasty, the portions were very small compared to the price we paid. And if you opt for the truffle, it's finely grated and it covers the entire plate. Also, it's an extra $12......for less than $2 worth of black truffle. It absolutely ruined the dish. An educated server would be able to caution against it, if, of course it wasn't intended to raise the final price, essentially raising the tip. If you order risotto there, be fair warned, it is extremely loosed and not very well made imo. Bland, lacks imagination, and the rice grains were cracked and soggy on the ends and crunchy in the middle.. Last was the dessert. Again, it was tasty, but it comes in these tiny jars that equal about 2-3 spoonfuls of either panna cotta, or tiramisu. At the end of our meal, the bill was over $250. For that price, I could have eaten somewhere where I could have left a little more satisfied and felt like I was actually in an upscale restaurant, not a political statement masquerading as fine dining. Having worked food for a long time, I felt obligated to leave the customary 20% gratuity knowing full well the workers there made their "living wage" before the gratuity kicks in. It included an additional 2% to pay for employee health insurance. Isn't that an employer cost? Why put that on the check? Anyway, out the door for $300 and vowing never to come back. Buyer beware.

Then... nothing. 39 minutes later (at 10:45pm), the server asks if I'm waiting on anything else. Yes... my steak. She goes to check, disappears, and then comes back with something that honestly felt DISTESPECTFUL. The steak looked like scraps. Uneven, mismatched chunks, all different sizes, with burnt, crispy edges and covered in sauce like they were trying to hide it. It didn't look like a single cut of meat it looked like pieces from multiple steaks thrown together. The plating was sloppy, and the side looked like an afterthought. I didn't take a bite. I looked through it and said, "This looks like pieces from different steaks." She told me she watched them cut it... then immediately followed that by saying she saw them put it under a heat lamp to reheat. So which is it? I work in the food industry. I'm not going to be gaslit over a plate like that. She offered to refire it, but at that point it was almost 11 and they were closing. I paid for my drink and left. Honestly, I wouldn't have been upset if they had just told me the kitchen was closing when I called. But don't invite me in, forget my order, and then serve something like this and try to pass it off like it's normal. Just be honest.

When we first arrived we were given the option of either the chef's counter or a table. I thought the chef's counter was a unique experience but for the night we opted for a table near the window. The space is intimate and even though there weren't many people there when we first got there, it still gave a warm and cozy vibe (quickly filled up though). The week of my friend's birthday they were only doing Seattle Restaurant Week, which I hadn't realized at first but the menu was amazing regardless. The staff was very attentive to us, constantly checking in on us and making any adjustments as needed. They thoughtfully walked us through our choices and when the food arrived. First we started with appetizers which I thought it was nice that you get to try all them and didn't have to choose one. The salad and asparagus is what you would expect, but they were perfectly done and not overly complex. The stand out was the Seared Tombo, the flavors of this dish were balanced and the fish was clearly very fresh! For our main we both got the halibut option, which came with a side of sunchokes. We had never had sunchokes before but were immediately in love (the fish was cooked to perfection too) but I loved the introduction of not so common ingredient. I thought it was a fun play on traditional "potatoes" almost. I'm glad we were able to try both of the desserts. My favorite was the tiramisu (I always love tiramisu). The carrot cake was more on the dryer side (almost like a cornbread), which isn't my preference but I enjoyed the flavors. Overall, really enjoyed this place and would definitely come back!

The halibut size was smaller than average, and the greens consisting of two small artichoke halves and a single branch of collards. Similarly, we paid $23 for a seared tombo and were given four thin slices of meat. I feel slightly robbed paying about $80 and leaving quite hungry. The food was good, but by no means would I argue this is worth going out of your way for.
