What a wonderful store! Came in on a Saturday afternoon and pretty much had the place to myself. While I didn't find what I was looking for, the staff here was super helpful and friendly. Prices are a tad higher here than the bigger name stores, but the vibes were great. Felt more intimate and I seriously could have stayed a couple of hours and gotten lost in the aisles - so much to see! They have a vast amount of wine, beer and liquor and I was reminded that they have wine tastings as well. Joseph was a total gem - he had wonderful insight and was super welcoming. This is a fantastic find in the area! We were headed to my sister's house and I totally forgot the wine in the fridge when we left the house, so I was lucky enough to find this place on Yelp. First, I'm super jealous. What an amazing selection of wine and spirits. The wines prices are very reasonable and organized, so it's easy to find what you're looking for, especially if you have something in mind. If you're not sure what you want or are a little intimidated by the selection, the staff is very friendly and knowledgable. Since we were on the way to a party, we purchased a couple bottles and a decanter, which was very convenient. They also have a wine tasting area, which looks awesome. If I lived a little closer, I would definitely take advantage of the tasting area. There's plenty of space, so you can bring a few friends to enjoy the wines. This places in waaaay better than BevMo or Total Wines or any of those big box wine shops that you might have near you. Whenever I walk in, I always walk out with what I was looking for. One of my favorite spots for spirits. A very wide selection of everything. Also serving non alcoholic beverages. For parties with a large group or just picking up a bottle for yourself, Vendome is a great spot. Wine tasting in the back on selected days and a humidor filled with premium cigars. This is the one stop shop. There are usually specials on display to consider for several liquors. well stocked and they have knowledgeable staff who really seem to have a passion for what they stock. some of the staff can be a little bit snobby sometimes and slightly condescending so I'm not sure i'd recommend this if you are going in to learn. But there is still nothing like it in the area unless you are into hole in the wall liquor stores and my go-to shop for wine and spirits and something you won't find everywhere. He offered me a Pinot Noir tasting, and although I was relatively apprehensive apprehensive, I folded and decided to join in on the party and little did I know in the course of the next 2 1/2 hours he would blow my mind with the varieties and education around Pinot Noir, old wine versus wine and just Adapted all of his knowledge to fit my understanding of wine. A friend of mine sent me a text on a Thursday evening saying that he needed a favor. He lives in Wisconsin but wanted a bottle of the recently released Arrogant Bastard Whiskey from Stone Brewing (based in So Cal). He sent me a link to two places in Pasadena that supposedly had it. One was a bar and the other was Total Wine. I checked Total Wine's website and it came up as not available, so I went to Stone Brewing's site to see what other places might carry it. After checking a few online and having no luck I decided to call a few local liquor stores the next day to see if they had any in stock. I made a few calls and got the same response, "I'm sorry, we sold out immediately." I was about ready to give up but decided to give Vendome a shot. Debbie answered and I asked if they had it. She put me on hold to check. When she returned she said, "We have one bottle left. I can only hold it for you for an hour." Ugh! I told her I was at work and would not be able to get there in an hour. She said I could pay for it over the phone and she'd hold it for me until I could come in and get it. Perfect! When I arrived, Debbie was waiting for me with my prized bottle. She was very sweet, and I was grateful for her help. (I didn't want to let my friend down.) The place has a large selection of wines, beer, spirits and cigars. I have to go back to browse around and see what other rare finds I might come across. They also have a small bar area for beer and wine tastings, which I'm looking forward to checking out when they resume again. Thank you so much Debbie for saving the day! My friend is very happy. The owners were very accommodating to pull 2 of the 3 left of the Carroll Shelby Vodka so that was a very appreciated gesture for us Coloradans. If you make less than 200k a year I would avoid this place. They mark up wine like they're selling it at a restaurant and beer like it's being served in a bar. They claim it's because they're a mom and pop shop but that's not true. Mission Wine and Spirits or Top Line Wine in Glendale will give you better options at a reasonable price. read more

Pricy, AND... The staff here is very hit or miss. I came in here asking what certain things taste like, and they weren't really helpful. The guy should have said, "let me get someone to help you who knows a little bit more about this than I do." That would have been acceptable. The guy that "sort of" pointed me in the right direction knew where to point me, he just didn't know anything about what he was pointing to. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't asking for anything fancy. It was just basic liqueurs that I had heard things about and wanted to try. AND, Honestly, I noticed their prices are about 20% higher than the chain stores like Total Wine. Some things even 30% more expensive. So for those reasons, I gave this place three stars. Honestly, if I had to get a really specialty something or other, and I was shopping around, and this place had the best price in town, maybe, and that's a big, huge Maybe, I might have to return to the store to buy it... factoring in the cost of driving around, all the gas, sitting in traffic, Etc So is it worth it? You'll have to decide for yourself. Take it or leave it. If this is your local wine spot that's two blocks from your house, go for it. But if you're going to haul in a huge stash of stuff trying to restock your liquor cabinet, you might want to think about taking a little extra time to go to one of the bigger chains. I picture Vendome as a private bevmo. When I mean private, I mean its really nice! Visited Vendome on a Saturday with a buddy for a beer tasting. I had no idea there was a liquor store that had such types of tasting. It was great! The main brewery from the tasting was Almanac and some Frog Town. Both were delicious. There were others on the list of the day that I haven't tried as well. So we tried them all! Browsing the store I noticed there were craft beers from all over not to mention the typical brands you can find at the market. Was pretty impressed by the selection. They do sell hard liquor as well and have a nice variety of different types of poison. For the tasting there was a bar area where people would gather. Looks as if this place has regular and they bring beers of their own to share or show off. Not my ideal place to gather to drink but that group looked fun. Vendome is more than your typical liquor store! It's a nice spot in Toluca Lake for wine and beer afficionado-s. We've shopping at this store for years, many years. First, as a new transplant from Europe in search of brands of beer I used to drink back in the Old World. And they had a decent selection when no one knew what Stella Artois is in US! Of course, nowadays, their selection is better and better. The wine variety is great as well. We were looking for specific brands after wine tasting in Santa Inez Valley and they had some of them, to our surprise and delight! We got some for gifting as well. Parking is decent, the store is pretty big, prices are a tad high. But it's fun to shop here and try new wines, look for specific brands and varieties. Or a nice bottle to offer as a gift! The tastings are anywhere from one dollar per taste up to three dollars per taste. The parking can be tricky because it is a liquor store and the parking typically is for customers coming to purchase spirits. So you may have to park on the street if you're coming to do wine-tasting. A very pleasant experience! What I'm not okay with is selling expired items and not informing the consumer. I'm no beer cicerone, but I do like trying new beers when I get a chance, and this place has ALOT to choose from. But "best before" dates are there for a reason. I'll accept fault for not checking before I purchased, but I trusted this place would be on top of this. I was pretty disappointed when the beer I purchased had expired 6 months prior. Some places will bring it to your attention and sell the product at a discounted price and it's on you if you want to buy, but not this place! I did go back to make sure this was a one-off. Unfortunately, I found other beer past their "best before" date and others that had been canned as far back as 2020!!! There is absolutely no way this beer is still good to consume. Vendome Toluca Lakes has one of the best craft beer selection that I've seen in the LA-area. I'm moved from Connecticut to Los Angeles about 5 years ago and was shocked to find beers from two beloved Connecticut breweries- Fat Orange Cat and Two Roads- which do not have national distribution and have not seen outside of Connecticut. I didn't pick any up, but they also had cans of The Alchemist Heady Topper and The Alchemist Focal Banger available to purchase, which are some of the highest-rated beers on Beer Advocate and are extremely difficult to get outside of New England. I'm not a big wine drinker, but they seemed to have an extensive wine selection. Wasn't overly impressed with their liquor offerings, but they do have all the classics- just not nearly the offerings one of the big box stores would have. The man that I asked for help from was incredibly rude to me and initially outright refused to help me. This was my second time here and I'm probably never coming back. The first time I was helped out by an older gentlemen who was amazingly kind. I was looking for wine under 10 dollars because I was going to buy a lot for my nail salon down the street and the gentleman went above and beyond to find the best value as well as the best wine for my needs.
