This was my first visit here, and I'm already planning my next appointment! I requested an appointment through Yelp and Hugh was quick to respond and had an opening at my exact desired time. When I arrived I was immediately greeted and shown to a seat. Kevin came over to help me and made great recommendations for how to fix my tragically grown out acrylics. He spent over an hour carefully filing and fixing my nails to make them look perfectly natural. This included filing down the acrylic to blend with my natural nail, adding small spots of new acrylic where the old had chipped away, and even using a gel dip and some nail glue on one to make it match the shape and size of the rest. They also took the time to explain what we'll do next time when I come back to make my nails healthy. Pro-tip: make sure you bring cash for gratuity! They definitely deserve it. read more

Don't let this place fool you on the outside, it is a beautifully designed and large nail salon. As with many nail salons, the staff is friendly, but they don't really engage you, but they do a nice job with nails, and that's why I am here. I suggest you make an appointment. We had to come back another day the first time we went as a walk-in. I made an appointment for 11:30am and I was surprised how busy it was. I wasn't greeted when I came in, which I didn't care about because I saw that they had great reviews. When I was finally seated to get my pedicure done the lady didn't greet herself and she didn't show me the options that they had for pedicures (I had a few extra bucks and I wanted a luxury pedicure but instead got a regular pedicure). The leg message was rough so I did not like that and the lady was very unsanitary too. My manicure was rough too, but she did a good job with painting my nails until I saw the bubbles on my gel manicure when I left. My overall experience is a 2.5/5. read more

I love coming here for pedicures! The ladies do a wonderful job glamming up my toes and making my feet ever-so-silky-soft. I always get the gel French polish with a funky color (blue or purple tips, usually). Gel polish lasts weeks, but if you get a solid color, it grows out in 7-10 days...making the fact that you paid extra for a long-lasting gel polish silly. With colored French tips, you get the best of both worlds. You're welcome, fellow women. The salon is always very clean, and I love that they use disposable everything - the tubs have a plastic liner, the emery boards and pumice stones are single use, and the techs wear gloves for the majority of the pedi. I never worry about bacteria or other people's icky toe jams remaining in the foot bath. My toes look lovely, my feet feel rejuvenated, and I am overall a happier girl when I leave Venice Nails. This is a happening nail salon! They have been open for 5 years. The owner is very friendly and remembers his repeat customers. The ownwer checked on his nail techs and engaged with his customers. I went in for a pedicure with my two cousins and they were able to get us in and get us chairs next to each other. They have the massage chairs which are so nice. The nail tech did a great job and I loved the foot and leg massage that went with my pedicure. I decided after my pedicure to get a manicure with the dip powder and they were able to get me in without a wait and they were accomadating to getting me in. They had a large selection of colors to pick from for the dip powder and the nail tech did a great answering any questions I had regarding the dip powder process. BY FAR the best dip manicure I have ever had. I recently moved to the SW from the NE suburbs and was so sad to leave my old nail salon and technician who I had grown close with over the years. As usual, I used Yelp to find a business with good reviews. Venice was the best reviewed salon nearby so I called to make an appointment. By chance, Maya was available **hit the jackpot here, read on**. She was immediately concerned at how tough the old dip polish was to get off - apparently my old salon wasn't using the right products? which makes sense in hindsight because I had issues with them cracking and peeling at times. The salon I went to before insisted that dip polish lasted longer and was better for my nails than gel polish, but in reality they lasted about the same and seemed harsher on my nails than gel. WHAT A CHANGE since going to Maya! The dip polish has been so durable, I never worry about them breaking down early. In fact, I now find I have to go in to have my nails shortened because they grow too long with how strong the topcoat is - a definite first for me. The quality cannot be beat. Maya is so thorough when it comes to technique, design, and client preference. She also travels to keep up on the latest technology and trends. She does a beautiful french dip manicure which many salons won't even do because it is technically difficulty to do with the dip powder. Most recently, she has been doing ombre manicures on me where she fades one color into another - also very difficult with the powder, but SO SO PRETTY. I am now devoted to Venice and Maya. Her patience, perfectionism, and creativity are SO appreciated. The dip manicures are definitely more expensive - all in all I end up spending ~$50 with tip each time I go depending on the style. But to me, this is worth it - they last for weeks and look great. My best accessory. Definitely give Venice a try if you are looking for a great nail salon in the twin cities! read more
