Final straw today... NEVER going back. I'm a tolerant person, especially when supporting local businesses, but will no longer tolerate disrespect of my time, patience & the kindness that I've given this business after years of business. I was a repeat client because they did a good job on my gel nails and I live nearby. That said, in the past (when they were busy) I tolerated the rudeness of being jostled, mid-procedure, between multiple customers so they could benefit from not turning away new business... even though I hated the added wait time. After explaining that I had a limited timeframe they told me to schedule a dedicated "appointment" to get my nails done (meaning someone would commit to ONLY doing my nails during this time slot = done w/in 1.5 hours...vs. 2.5-3.5 hours when being juggled between many other customers). Today's scene.... I have a 10am appt. & everything is going ok until a new walk-in customer (no appt.) arrives at 10:30. At this point I'm put on the "back burner" and told I need to "keep drying" my nails (mid-process, not done) while she starts.........& then finally........ FINISHES this new customer's nails FORTY-FIVE (45) MINUTES LATER - all while I sit waiting in the middle of my appointment doing nothing!!!!! I definitely would have left if I could have salvaged my nails on my own (again mid-process). When she finally returned, I asked her why I had to wait 45 minutes, mid-process, for her to do the nails of someone else that showed up AFTER me & didn't have an appt. WTF? Her one & only reply was "your nails were drying..." I replied saying "it doesn't take 45 minutes to dry." (It actually takes approx. 1 MINUTE to cure, aka "dry" gel nails under their UV light machines - Very quick)! She had absolutely no reply to me... NO apology for making me wait.... NO concern for her rudeness.... NOTHING. I've dealt with similar rudeness at this salon before (always brushing it off as "being busy") & still always tipped 20%. This time there was NOBODY else in the salon except me & the new customer that showed up 30 minutes after me (& was finished before me). I'm assuming they think I'll just keep coming back, despite the rudeness and disrespect. I will not. read more

I agree with the others, as this adorable family owned nail place seems to be an Eden Prairie secret, and a great place to go for a deal. I have been frequenting this place, every since my high school dance days. Holly has gotten to know my family well, and they are always very friendly and accommodating at getting everyone booked at their specific time of interest. They recently remodeled, and the place looks great! There are an overwhelming amount of pedicure chairs now, and they are always staffed will enough people, as it tends to be hopping every time I'm in. My fave deal of theirs is their Mani & Pedi deal for a mere $30. I went last week, and they were able to do both at one time, and I was out in a little over an hour. I will never again go to a salon like Rachel W. stated, as $50 for a pedi alone is quite ridiculous. Twenty dollars less, for a quality manicure added in the equation? Now that sounds like the perfect beauty bargain in my books. Also, can we talk out the name of the place? Happy Nails makes me a happy gal. read more

I honestly can't believe there isn't a review for this place yet. Shame on my fellow Eden Prairiens! Happy Nails is a hole in the wall, not gonna lie. It's a relatively small space and you are up against your neighbors while getting pampered, but I think it's worth it. The staff is great, they are extremely friendly and never forget a face. My mother, sister and I have been coming here for years and it's only getting better. A few months ago Happy Nails started undergoing renovations - while it is slightly frustrating that everything isn't perfect yet, you can tell there is a big difference about the place. Pretty much overnight they went from having about six pedicure chairs to having more like twenty, including two small pink-butterfly chairs that will make any little girl feel like a little princess getting the royal treatment. I have specific people who I go to for specific treatments. To be honest, my manicurist, pedicurist and eyebrow shaper are three different people. It's a lot of trial and error figuring out who is best at what, but it seems that all of the locals have figured it out as well. If you want perfectly shaped eyebrows request for Locke to do them. She may be petite, but that girl has skills when it comes to the perfect eyebrows. (She also does the best nail designs) A perfect little hole in the wall, Happy Nails promises a relaxing experience and beautiful nails.. unless a soccer game is on the flat-screen because all of the employees tend to yell at the television. read more

All the workers are so gentle and know what they are doing! The quality of my nails is great everytime, and Holly always does an especially good job! The shape and length of my acrylic nails were perfect and they make sure to perfect every detail! Also, when i've gotten acrylic nails here, they never fall off and last for a very long time! I've tried many places and this one is the best! They always make sure you are satisfied before they let you leave. They give you recommendations on which nail treatment would be the best for your nails. The prices tend to be 5-10$ more than other places but it is so worth it. The atmosphere is welcoming and quiet. The only one critic i have is that they were out of multiple colors i wanted, but they personally helped me find similar choices so i would be 100% happy with my nails! Was in desperate need to get some too-long, too-gross acrylics taken off my fingers, and I found this little place close to work! I stopped in during lunch time, and was in and out within 15 minutes! She did a wonderful job, and was careful not to ruin my nails underneath. She buffed and shined them and they look good as new! I was really hopeful that this place would stand up to at LEAST a 3-4 star review, but my pedicure is horrendous (and that is after me asking twice that they clean up the polish, which was all over my nail beds.) This place was hopping on a Sunday, but I was happy to have an extra long soak (30 minutes) before they started working on my feet (I'm fairly confident they forgot about me.) The man did a 3 star job on the massage, cut, cuticles, and exfoliation portion but I was only getting the basic pedi so I could let that slide. But the polish job is just terrible, I'm super disappointed and left no tip because it wasn't even worth the $20 (with a coupon.) Do yourself a favor and skip this spot in lieu of another chain nail place in the area. read more

Came to Happy Nails for the first time to get a gel manicure and pedicure for my sisters wedding. About 3 days after getting my manicure, it started to chip off on almost all of my fingers. I returned almost a week later to ask if they could redo my manicure, since I paid good money and tipped well, and was very disappointed. I was reasonable, and told them I had been here a week earlier, and showed them that all of my nails were completely ruined. The male worker begin to argue, saying I must have gotten it done weeks ago, and he wouldn't help me. I asked if I could speak to a manager, and the manager wasn't present and he refused to give me a number to call. It was very unprofessional, and I will not be returning to Happy Nails. read more

I have been going to Happy Nails for years and have never been disappointed. A lot of nail places come and go but this place has been successful. It's nothing special inside and tends to feel a little crowned when it gets real busy. You might even question yourself when you first walk in the door but be assured you'll have a good experience. With some recent updates and addition of chairs it's taken on a nice "new look". It's a "family" operation and Holly is the owner. All the staff are very friendly and aiming to please. They offer coupons in local advertisements but usually those prices are not any different than what's offered in the salon. Mani-pedi combined is $30 to $35 depending upon if you go the "deluxe" route. It's a great deal and don't see why someone would want to pay $50 plus in the higher end salons when you can get the same end result. read more

I chose this place on a whim. I needed a pedicure BADLY, and I pulled off hiway 5 near a Walgreen's, reasoning that the shopping center behind it was likely to have a nail salon. That's how I found Happy. I went in, and was assigned Juliette. Juliette had tons of personality, was talkative (which I like) and we had a fun rapport and chatted throughout the pedicure. She actually upsold me to a Deluxe (which NEVER happens), just because she was doing such a great job on the standard pedicure. I should say here that I really like having my toenails done because I can't do as good a job myself--but I am usually not very impressed by any of the other work on your feet that they usually do. It might SEEM great at the time, but my feet are usually still scraggly when I check their smoothness when I get home. I feel like on my feet and callouses, I do a better job than most places, and I often wish they would offer an option for Toes Only. That was absolutely not the case with Juliette, at Happy! She did a great, and very thorough job on everything, I still have the callouses I need for my athletic pursuits, but everything from the calves down is smooth and wonderful. Not only would I go there again, I will book my appts with Juliette. (And it's not in my neighborhood!) I also had her give me an eyebrow wax. The mirror there was in kind of a dark area, so I didn't know until I got home and looked in my lighted mirror, that she had also done a very fine job of that as well. I hesitate posting this review because now it might be hard to get an appt with her when I want to! (Only giving 4 stars because the salon, while fine, is nothing special in and of itself. If they had offered me a bottle of water, that would have been a nice touch.) read more

My best friend and I went in with her daughter that is 5 yrs old for a pedi/mani. My experience was fine. However hers was completely different. The french manicure was crooked, the lines on her french manicure (underlined black to match her dress she was wearing the next day) was so crooked it looked as if her 5 yr old daughter did it and on top of it they took her daughter and put rhinestones and a flower on her nails without asking the adult then had the nerve to charge her for the service! I had her go back in and complain after she showed me how horrible everything looked when we got into the car. She came back out with nothing on her fingers and toes! The nail salon insisted that they remove all polish before she left!!!! That and she was only discounted $20 after all of the money she spent. Mine was great...hers was bad.... read more

Came for a manicure and gel pedicure. I love when they can do both at the same time, saves time for me! They got me in right away on short notice and did a great job on both. The salon seems clean and the decor is nice and updated. They have about 10 spa chairs for pedicures and 8-9 manicure stations. I liked the spa chairs, great massage...the only thing is this is the first time I had a chair massage your thighs and butt! I got quite a surprise when it turned on! Whoa! I could not figure out how to shut that part off. I feel like the prices are very affordable and plan on returning again. I went to Happy Nails on Saturday. I went to their website first, http://happynailsspa.net/, to see what the cost of a gel manicure would be. It was $22, which is a lot less than other places. However, when I arrived, it was actually $27. I figured, it's only $5, so I got my manicure. The girl didn't make eye contact with me one time, and the guy next to her was the only one who spoke to me the whole time. All of those things I could overlook, however, it's Thursday and my gel manicure is already peeling! She only did two coats of color, where most places do 3 or 4 and last at least 10 days with no peeling. Honestly, there are a million places to get a gel manicure, just go somewhere else!! read more

This place should be called Zombie Nails! When I walked in I got the vibe that it wasn't a happy place at all. Should have gone with my gut because this was the worst pedicure i have ever had in my life! So bad I had to cut it short and get the heck out of there. So the guy barely told me his name and would not even look at me. I smiled at the other girls and no one was friendly at all. I always cut my own toe nails because I don't like other people doing that and I think it lessens the risk of infection. So the guy soaks my feet and removes the cuticles. Then he starts doing the lotion leg rub (which I could do without). Then he gets ready to paint my nails and I pointed to my heels. I mean come on, what is a pedicure if they don't scrub your feet and get the heels smooth and soft? That is the biggest reason I get pedis because I need to get rid of the rough heels. He then said that would be $10 more. I argued that that has always been included in every other pedicure that I have ever had. He say "no, that is extra service-you pay ten dolla" I said enough with the lotion rub an handed him my polish and said just paint my nails and we are done. So he goes and gets a cheese grater and starts on my heel... then asks if I want the other one done too. I told him no, just paint my toes and I am outta here! Then he wants me to sit down and dry the toes so I go over to the dryers and there is a sign taped to the hand dryers: IF YOU PLAN ON TIPPING OUR EMPLOYEES APPRECIATE CASH. Boy they have some balls! I had cash in my pocket to cover the pedi and tip but after this horrible experience I couldn't bring my self to tip this poor excuse of a pedicurist. Beware...There are a million other places out there where they are friendly and welcome you in and offer you a beverage. This place couldn't care less and is definitely not ever getting my business again. I went there for eye brow waxing today and I completely hate it. She spoiled the original shape and made one side as thin as possible. Now I have 2 different shapes. She did not even clean up fully. I told her that you removed a lot of hair and she could not understand English. It feels awkward to have 2 different eye brows. Now I have to wait for the new growth. I am pissed; I don't have any other words. I don't know how to fix my brows now. She was such a b****. New to the area and Happy Nails is not far from where I live, so was excited to try out this new place. I called ahead and was told I could get in right away so went straight there and had to sit and wait a few minutes. Everyone was busy with customers. I was assigned a chair and had a bit of a soak waiting for someone to be free to work on me. I had asked when I called about the price and must've been horribly under quoted. I had a BASIC pedicure, but requested gel. I was talked into doing pink & white on my toes (which I'd never done before) and apparently that must've cost more (wasn't told it would cost anything more) despite the fact it is only 2 weeks later and the white tips are all rubbing off and look horrible!! I had asked about getting a set of nails, but the pedicure had taken such a long time I was unsure if I had the time to get my nails done. I was told I would DEFINITELY be done by 8pm...absolutely. Well - - guess what? He wasn't finished with my nails until 8:20pm. Which I think I could've dealt with the lie if I was happy with the job done on my nails - but NO. I had wanted fake nails and when asked how long - I pointed out my longest fingernail and stated that I didn't want the rest of my nails to be any longer than that one as I work at a computer. He then proceeded to cut all of my nails very short....and didn't put on tips! So now I have short, very thick nails that don't look particularly good. He kept saying they will grow very fast and will look good for at least a month before I need to go back....which doesn't even make sense. If they will grow very fast...then I would need to get in for a fill sooner than 4-6 weeks later! Oh yes....and despite mentioning the $15 off for full pink and white set (on website)...my total cost for this pedi/mani was $115!!!! What a RIP OFF!!! P.S. The entire time there were 2 young kids running back and forth from the back room where they were eating pizza and in and out the front door - so not the most relaxing environment either if you are like me and hope to unwind a bit while getting a pedicure. read more

This is the only place I go to get pedicures. Out of all the times I have been there (10ish times), I have only had a "not so great" experience twice. Once one of the ladies kept suggesting a special foot treatment because my feet were "so dry." She asked like 3 times, so that got annoying. Another time I had a small piece of my toenail not clipped all the way and it would push in on the side of my toe (painful!) but I think that could happen to anyone. Her husband is the reason I kept coming back always did my nails just how I liked them and is fantastic with designs. But however now that the opened a new location I don't know if I will be back to happy nails. I went about a month ago to get a full set with designs. There was a new guy and I got him. I don't know why I have been going there for so long and always get the new people but I got a full set and with in 3 days 4 were coming off I called and no went back and got them fixed. Had the worst experience at this place. Have been in there several times for gel nails and it takes them 2 hours for a 40 minute job. They help everybody but you. They are so distracted and take everyone who comes in the door, no matter how it affects you. I would NOT recommend going to this place if you have a life. Holly is rude and irresponsible. No stars here. It used to be a better place (from a previous visit in 2012) but there needs to be a new reveiw for 2013. Not sure if there is new owners or what but it was aweful. My husband and I were going on vacation so we got pedicure (I got a manicure too). No one person greeted us but they just waved us to go sit down. After the guy (which I requested not to have a male) cut me twice and I said ouch, I stopped him and said "are you in a hurry?do you need to be somewhere b/c if so I can wait for someone else, you are not being gentle at all with your sharp fingernails and we have been looking forward to this for a long time." He just looked at me and said "does this hurt?" You probably didn't understand what I said but hello -body language. Obviously there were communication barriers but nothing got better and no words were spoken to us. Just go back to your stupid touch phone, when you really should be concentrating on how to run a better business, its no wonder we were the only ones there. I even broke the plastic flip flops on the way out and after he just told me not to put on my shoes, he told me to just put them. Are you that cheap where you can't spare another foam flip flop?
