do not go here new owners suck, very small gym and overpriced they worry about other less important things to fix instead of making the gym bigger and better. i rather go to planet fitness than this!!!! read more

This facility has loads of equipment, the availability of a personal trainer, fitness classes for beginners, and most importantly a customer-oriented owner with friendly and professional staff. My wife has been a member for a couple of years, and I have been a member for about a year now, and I ask myself, "Why didn't I join earlier? There has been a recent move to a larger facility one block from the former address, to 508 5th Street, but it has only enhanced the workout experience. read more

Lots of variety for lifting weights and cardio machines. Trainer available to help you get started or up your game when you need it. Definitely need to try boot camp class! Really nice that they added 24 hour access for members. We're lucky to have this type of facility in Gustine. read more

I have had a membership in this gym continually since 2022 and for a few years prior to that and in…read moremy time of being a member, there are many issues I have had with this establishment. To start off, the Get Fit in Newman has very little workout space. There is extra unused equipment stored in workout/walking area of this gym and considering the building itself is small as it is, so you would think that gym management would kindly store that equipment elsewhere but customer ease is just not something I have seen prioritized. Continuing on equipment, often times there is equipment that is broken or in progress of being fixed. It's understandable for things that are used to need fixing, but they shouldn't need to be fixed as frequently as these machines do. You'd assume that paying a monthly membership plus a yearly service fee would ensure equipment upgrades but that has yet to be seen. Thirdly, I'd like to touch on the topic of neglect with this location specifically. To my understanding, this location is one of the first gyms that the owner opened but somehow gets the least amount of attention. I have seen what the Hilmar and Hughson locations look like and they are far better maintained than the Newman location. Whether that be a management issue or lack of care by the owner, either problem should be addressed. The flooring in this gym is also very lumpy and that's obviously dangerous for people who are lifting heavy weights. This gym has so much potential and it's sad seeing its condition, especially considering this is the only option that Newman residents are forced to have. I hope, for the sake of future gym members, that these concerns are addressed.

It's buy one get one free basically for $49.99 which I think it's a fair price since individual tickets are from I believe $30-$40. Parking is $5 and if you want to park upfront it's $10. We waited in line for almost an hour to get inside so be mindful if you have a lot of things to carry. Bring a cooler with wheels and a wagon! If you also have a baby stroller that is also allowed inside. The only thing they won't allow you to bring inside is anything glass, alcohol or knives so please precut your fruits and sandwiches beforehand. They do check coolers and bags upfront. We bought Costco pizzas, made pasta salad, charcuterie boards and other knick knack snacks for the kids as well to give you guys ideas on what to bring! Most of the time everyone's gonna be out swimming and on rides and not paying attention on eating lol If you have kids, please take them I recommend and apply sunscreen at all times!

There's no exit from 152 or I-5 to get to the reservoir , you'd have to drive to Volta Rd , then on to Canyon Rd to get to the boat launching area. A little winding but not too bad. A beautiful lake full of wildlife , while we were riding on a tour boat we saw a couple of ospreys , deer, koots, herriers , red-tails ( hawks). While we hiked our 9 -mile trail , we saw tons of cows, footprints of raccoons and deer, coyote scats . Bobcats and mountain lions been spotted here also. We learned history of Yokuts Indians , saw a could of acorn grinding holes on a rock, learned about the native plants such as wild cucumbers, Willow , dark blue elderberry trees and how the Yokuts Indians used to use them for medicinal purposes. We were welcomed by the nice cool breeze and the warm sun while we hiked but it was freezing cold while sitting in a boat. Luckily , we were prepared and had our down jackets , scarves and gloves. The tour is guided by two extremely knowledgeable and friendly park rangers. Richard has 14 year of experience in this area and very knowledgeable about the Yokuts Indian and the history of California. Nathan is a very skilled boat operator and friendly, skilled outdoor ranger. They made this experience much more memorable and fun. We hike an extra mile and a half to see the abandoned barn and houses by Basque immigrants. Old abandoned barns were pictureristique . It was fun watching the cows grazing up close and walk away as we approached them. Two of the ospreys we saw were so beautiful and majestic. They were perched proudly on the tree branches. Some area of the trail are very steep , narrow and slippery. We had to do some creek and river crossings. I wouldn't recommend it for small children but they do offer school trips there. Overall, a great outdoor experience of hiking , learning and a boat riding. $20 per person for the tour and you have to register through California State Park website. Tours only offered on the weekends during end of February to April.

Had a great time flying my Pittbull fully ballasted the first day in 15 + mph winds till sunset. Next day the lift wasn't so good, but I had a great time flying other planes. I told my other RC Glider buddies and they are stoked to make a trip up. Talking with Jorge and knowing this great park is so welcoming to RC Glider and RC planes, I will sure plan another trip out here in 2022.
