You can check online before going or while in the office (just scan the QR code displayed there) and this makes everything faster. Large comfortable wait area. My first visit to this location was on a Thursday. They were so busy in the afternoon that there was virtually a line out the door waiting to check in. They had three associates working to get patients checked in or out as the case might be. They were moving through the queue as fast as they could. When my turn came to check in the representative was very friendly and thorough, despite the chaos of so many people in the waiting area. I asked if it is always that busy there. She said that Thursdays are often their busiest days. Dear Hubby explained (he's been a patient there, too) that their doctors rotate to several offices - likely Thousand Oaks and Camarillo, in addition to Simi. Despite the busy load of patients in the waiting room I was called in fairly quickly. Dr. "Siva" came to talk with me and go over MRI results shortly thereafter. There were some surprises in what the MRI revealed which I wasn't expecting. I'll be starting physical therapy soon and we'll see how it all goes. I liked the straight-forward communication style of Dr. Siva. He offered information, compassion, and a plan to move forward. read more

Avoid this location. Not only was it a waste of money and time, but the doctor who saw me (Dr. Michael Fealy, MD is a board certified hand surgeon, specializing in complex hand and wrist conditions and procedures) couldn't even diagnose me. He examined me and said "even though you don't have carpel tunnel, I'm going to treat it as such." ????? Then recommended a nerve study for my upper right extremity and doesn't even offer that in house. He referred me to some other doctor with rude staff. After getting that done, the neurologist sent him my results. I wasn't able to view it online in the UCLA portal. (Note: I found a separate unaffiliated neurologist because I was not going to go to the one he suggested with the rude receptionist) So in order to get my results, the front office staff informed me I needed to schedule an appointment. lol I let them know I'm entitled to my medical records. They wouldn't fax or send to me in any way. They required me to go in person. And you know what? The results showed no findings. Sooo imagine I had spent time, money, gas to go to the office for an appointment just for him to tell me the test showed nothing. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

I was evaluated for ongoing, debilitating knee pain that has significantly affected my mobility and daily functioning. Despite MRI findings that documented clinically significant relevant abnormalities, Dr. Hartman repeatedly described the imaging as "normal" and dismissed my concerns without providing a medically supported rationale. The consultation did not include adequate discussion or review of the imaging or imaging results, potential diagnoses, or an evidence-based treatment plan. When I expressed that I was experiencing 10/10 pain and asked how I was expected to function, Dr. Hartman responded, "Well, I come to work with 10/10. I guess it depends on the person." This comment felt extremely condescending and clinically inappropriate. At no point did he assess how the pain was affecting my ability to walk, work, sleep, or perform basic daily tasks. Instead, he referenced anecdotal stories about his brother and a prior patient, which were neither relevant nor helpful. Dr. Hartman attributed the pain solely to fibromyalgia despite the following issues: * The pain is highly localized to my knees rather than widespread. * It does not resemble my typical fibromyalgia pain. * The MRI report included findings that reasonably correlate with mechanical or structural knee pain. His refusal to acknowledge or meaningfully address these findings resulted in inadequate assessment and left me without a clear diagnosis or appropriate follow-up plan. The care provided did not meet clinical expectations and left me feeling dismissed, invalidated, and unsupported. I have filed a formal grievance with Blue Shield and Ventura Orthopedics. read more

I have been waiting for a month to get into PT and they texted me 24 hour prior to my first appointment to tell me they are cancelling all my appointments because they don't take Blue Shield insurance. I was referred and prescribed PT by a doctor at Ventura Orthopedics who took my insurance but now they say they don't take it for PT. They do for seeing doctors but not PT. I have been in pain and waiting for a month just to get in and now I have nothing. read more

If I could give a -1 I would. The only highlight of my interaction with this organization was the original receptionist who checked me in. The doctors are rushed and don't have enough time to listen to patients. The assistants prepping are so rushed or unaware of proper procedures that many steps are missed- example: when going in and out of an exam room and leave the door open when their patient is not appropriately covered to prevent people outside from seeing the patient in a state of undress. Trying to follow-up via phone is never less than "caller number 12" and 15+ minute wait in hold, only to be told something would be emailed and it never is. I should have paid more attention to the poor reviews and ratings across every location in this organization. read more

I am angry and disgusted at the horrible office management at Ventura Orthopedics and warn anyone reading this to consider the following facts before patronizing this patient-hostile provider. I scheduled an appointment yesterday to see Dr. Wang at 2:00 PM today for a painful, suddenly swelling cyst on my hand. Because they confirmed this appointment, I cancelled a backup appointment I had with another doctor for next week, and was relieved that I would be seen sooner. However, today, on the morning of my appointment, I received a voice message and text message stating my appointment was cancelled and that I needed to call a billing number. This "billing" number turned out to be a cell phone number that took me five attempts to finally get through to. When I finally reached someone, I was told I could not be seen because of an alleged unpaid balance for a MRI from 2007. That is 19 years ago. I have absolutely no recollection of ever having an MRI done by this provider and believe this is a mistake. Even if it were true, they checked their records when I made the appointment yesterday and noted that I last visited in 2015. Although I don't recall what the visit was for, I would most likely remember if I had been advised at that time that there was an unpaid balance. During yesterday's call to set the appointment, they did not at any time mention that I had an unpaid balance, despite spending about 15 minutes on the phone with me to update their records. Today, 19 years later, they are claiming I have an unpaid balance arising from a MRI allegedly performed 19 years ago, and used this as an excuse to cancel my current appointment. Needless to say, I am livid at the unprofessional, rude and vindictive manner in which this was handled. I have no opinion of Dr. Wang, since I didn't get to see her. Her website bio details demonstrate that she has a decent educational and professional background, so she may be a great doctor, but the office management of her practice is rude, unprofessional and couldn't care less about you or whatever pain you may be experiencing. Because I made the mistake yesterday of relying on Ventura Orthopedics' confirmation of today's appointment, I cancelled my appointment with the other doctor. Since Ventura Orthopedics waited until the day of my appointment to cancel my appointment, I cannot find a replacement for today, and I am forced to endure pain over the weekend and into next week as a result of the actions of the jerks who run this practice. Dr Fealy is great and does very good work. The staff are generally kind and helpful. Deducting 2 stars because I was not seen on time for any of my visits (across maybe 10 visits). On average I'd wait about 1/2 an hour to be seen. Sometimes as long as an hour. Most visits were simple 2 minute check-ins so this was pretty annoying. Their online check-in process is also very annoying and seems needlessly complicated. read more

Do not recommend. I have been going here off and on, mostly on for the last 10 years. Dr de Leon (great Dr who has kept me on my feet the last 4 years) is leaving the practice and they would not let me see anyone else. I walked in today, they handed me my paperwork and said nobody else will see me, not even my old Dr. I have back, neck and some heart issues, this is 100% patient abandonment. I will never recommend this place to anyone I know, disgusting, disgusting disgusting. Wish I could get back all the money I have given this 2 bit practice. Was just at the Simi urgentortho branch of Ventura Orthopedics the other night to have my son's foot assessed which turned out to be broken. My son was not mobile coming in - when I came home from work he had to crawl on all four to get around. The staff was fast to offer us a wheel chair when we arrived. The waiting room was nice and had something on a tv to keep my son occupied. There was a lot of paperwork to fill out (but when is that not the case at a medical facility). After it was completed we were seen pretty quickly and were able to get X-rays. This was after 6pm when most medical offices are closed and I did not want to go to a regular urgent care where an internist/general practitioner would be viewing the x-rays. I preferred to have an orthopedic specialist that looks at x-rays every day treat my son. Ventura Orthopedic fit the bill. The whole staff was great from the front desk, to the medical assistant/nurse. PA-C Marquis Kennedy was fantastic. He was very kind, knowledgeable, friendly, easy to understand, and had great bedside manner with my 9 year old. I am very grateful he was there to treat my son. He was able to get my son fitted with a boot that allowed my son to be a little more mobile so he wouldn't have to crawl to get around anymore. I've been waiting a long time to make this review because I don't like to say bad things, but this place took away 5 months of me getting better. I went in with a lot of pain in my knee after three or four visits. An exray and I had to practically beg for an MRI. Which showed so much damage Dr Herman's first words were this can only be fixed with surgery. But no All they did is give me an injection when I went to another doctor I had to wait three more months to get surgery because of that injection. They cost me a lot of money and lost wages. Dr Hartman you knew I needed a Knee Surgery and you gave me an injection ,a Band-Aid. It didn't work for even a second and just cost me more money but mostly time. You didn't care. You didn't even wanna recommend a surgeon to me. You just kept insisting we do this injection. I'm so angry about the treatment I got from you guys. I can't even explain it now. My knee has been replaced and he told me my whole bone inside was dead. You think an injection is gonna fix that ? get it together Dr Hartman. I wish I could give you zero stars. read more

I have been seen by a number of physicians and most are wonderful. Dr. Davis, Dr. Hartman, Dr. Feeley all were exceptional. This one exception, Dr. Timothy Rearick who was not only rude and condescending, I will never recommend. I had broken two non-adjacent toes at the base. I was told to tape the toes but never had, especially with non-adjacent toes. I asked how and he proceeded to wrap them for me in a rough, annoyed fashion. When I went back for a recheck, I had almost no pain and was pleased. I wore comfortable sandals and he said they were no good. Picked one up and bent it back and forth. He then said I needed hard shoes and said the bones had not healed yet. He proceeded to squeeze my toes which was painful. I went from almost pain free to (still years later) having almost constant pain in the toes. 5 stars for the other doctors, zip for Dr. Rearick. read more

Saw Dr. Wang for the first time (she was a referral from Simi hospital) and let me just say, when I saw her in the morning, it looked like she just woke up. Hair all disheveled, stains on her shirt and she came in and barely made eye contact with me. Took a look at my hand and said yeah I'm going to have you start PT in about 3-4 months across the street, and here's a doctors note for a month off work, bye have a nice day. Barely gave me a diagnosis on my injured hand. Then the nurse came in the room before I left and gave me a hand brace and then nailed me with a $50 bill for the hand brace. Never going here again, super unprofessional. The other gals in the office were rude too. Never going here again and never recommending this place. read more

My appointment lasted less than 10 minutes so when I questioned why I was being billed for a 45+ minutes appointment, I was told I was charged more b/c I saw a "specialist". I was diagnosed within the first 5 minutes even though he didn't do any sort of thorough exam and failed to even address one of my main issues. I felt rushed and dismissed. Mercedes was able to get me in right away for my MRI at Simi but it took foot work and phones calls to do it. She ROCKS! Today 1-9 they do not know what I am talking about when we went to pick up. Explaining their process when that should be on their side. Also said Dr Quinn is not in Simi office. Dr. Lakshmanan Sivasundaram ("Dr. Siva") treated me surgically for a shoulder tear, bicep tendon tear and frozen shoulder in Aug 2024, and I am very happy with the results after suffering for 9 months with pain and poor range of motion prior to surgery. He went to bat for me with my health insurance company after they initially denied the surgery (they wanted me to continue with PT, which I wasn't seeing results from) - he got them to re-evaluate and approve the procedure, which I'm thankful for - because I didn't want to drag out my pain and overall recovery any longer! After almost 10 months of post-op PT, I am finally pain free and have full range of motion back - it is wonderful to be back to normal again. Dr. Siva is very kind, personable, professional and skilled. He recommended certain treatment options (cortisone shots) but listened to my preferences without being pushy or making me feel badly about choosing a different route (no shots for me!). I highly recommend Dr. Siva who is available to see patients in multiple VO locations, which is very convenient. The front office staff was also very easy to work with - nice people work here. Highly recommend Dr. Siva if you have a shoulder tear! BTW I had originally seen Dr. Paul Simic at Simi SCOI...did not like him at all. Very poor first impression. read more

A relative had injured their hand in an accident. I took him to an urgent care. The doctor there said it looked like a bad break and they couldn't help him and suggested he go to the ER. The ER had an extremely long wait so we decided to go to a place called Urgent Ortho and saw Dr Daniel Davis. He took x -rays and confirmed a very complicated broken hand that would require surgery and some screws and plates. He was very helpful, easy to talk to and showed us the X-rays and explained in detail exactly what he would need to do. I had several questions and he took the time to answer all our concerns. He scheduled the surgery for a few days later and everything went well and I'm happy to say that my family member is doing great and has no issues with his hand. It's taken me awhile to finally get this review on here but I'd just like to say that Urgent Ortho in Simi Valley is great place to go if you have any type of orthopedic emergency or issue. We are also very grateful for Dr. Daniel Davis and his help and expertise. read more

I went dr fealy when I broke two fingers on my hand. It was a horrible experience. He is rude, unwilling to answer questions and was unwilling to discuss surgical options. I would never ever walk into this office again I have had a totally different hand surgery with another hand surgery than what dr fealy was going to do and I am already healing and moving my hand. Dr Fealy was not going to take me out of a cast for 5 weeks and after one day my new surgeon was having me do pt Don't use dr fealy . He is awful read more

Incompetence left and right. Documents were lost, cd misplaced, proper authorization from insurance wasn't obtained. A 76 year old woman fell and had a horrific break in her shoulder and was made to wait 2 weeks to be seen. That should have been our first clue to go somewhere else. When we finally got in, surgeon told us that should have never happened. And at that point the soonest surgery was another 10 days away. The morning of surgery, we are heading out the door and we get a call that someone screwed up and didn't get authorization from one of the insurance companies. SERIOUSLY!?!!! So now we have to wait another 9 days for surgery to be rescheduled. I feel bad for the surgeon who seems to be competent, but her staff is AWFUL. Do your JOB! You're messing with people's lives and their health. Waiting a MONTH for surgery is very different when you're dealing with an elderly person. Get it together V.O.! Needless to say, after this surgery, we will be going elsewhere. read more

After several years of hip pain, my new PCP sent me to do an MRI on my right hip before sending the referral to Ventura Orthopedics so the doctors had it available prior to my appointment. I finally get the appointment scheduled for tomorrow after waiting months for authorizations and referral processes. A very rude woman calls me at 3:40 this afternoon to tell me that I can't be seen tomorrow because I haven't done my x-rays. When I explained that I did an MRI, not an x-ray, she rudely cuts me off and tells me that the doctor requires an x-ray, not an MRI, and that an order was sent to Rolling Oaks for x-rays and I haven't done them. So she cancels my appointment that I've literally waited MONTHS for. I call back to find out when the order was sent to Rolling Oaks for the x-rays and their worker tells me it was sent today at 3:22 pm; She called me at 3:40pm and my appointment is tomorrow at 11:30am. So, because they can't communicate with their patients, I will be going somewhere else. I won't waste my time waiting for their terrible staff to figure out what they're doing. I'm sure the doctors are fine, but if the staff is this disorganized and rude, I'm not taking the chance of my surgery being this disorganized. read more

What is the point of an appt if one of us is constantly late? I've 2 kids that play contact sports. We've been here plenty of time over the years. One thing this place is 100% consistent on is inability to ever see us on time. 45min-1hr wait time, past the app time, is the norm. Front office inability to look even remotely empathetic is, I assume, is a job requirement. If I'm late or don't show, I get charged, I assume... so you clearly value your time... how about a little reciprocity? There are other practices that somehow manage to be on time. I don't understand how a doctor can make a diagnosis without even looking or doing any type of exam. This is the second time I have seen this doctor for my torn bicep tendon which is giving me quite a bit of pain and other issues. All he says is do therapy. I have been doing therapy at home because my insurance is horrible and I can't take the time off from work. I don't feel that any doctor is that good without doing an exam to make a diagnosis for treatment. I have now seen this doctor in both of his locations, this last time in their Simi Valley location. I have seen other doctors there and they are just fantastic. But this one doesn't really seem to care if you are hurting or not. So sad. read more

I was really hesitant to try this place out bc of the reviews. But it was way different than what the reviews are. The front staff was amazing. My son had an injured wrist and was referred to an orthopedic. This place is down the street from us. I called them and they took all my pertinent info that was needed. They stayed on the phone as they wanted me to send them a text message for some info. Then we showed up to our appointment and things went very smooth. Waited no longer than 10 minutes to go into the exam room. Then waited no more than 5 minutes to see the doctor. That's where it gets good. The Dr was so amazing and kind. Super personable and sweet. She made my son feel so comfortable. We went over the X-rays and then she gave us the diagnosis. Definitely needed a cast. While getting the cast, the medical personal was super kind and funny while putting the cast on. After that was finished they came back and gave my son a shirt and a sticker. That made my sons day. So overall the experience was amazing. Glad we went. Would definitely recommend this place. read more

I have been suffering with severe foot pain for the past three days. I have had two foot surgeries in the past with an implant. I called and they got me in same day, yesterday. I saw Dr Tim Rearick. They took an X-ray, and I explained where my pain is, and he discussed that they never recommend implants, but a fusion of the toe. He took time to explain it to me, and gave me a prescription for an anti inflammatory I have not tried yet. The ladies in the front are extremely nice. I know down the road I will need the fusion, but for now, I was happy to get in, get the X-ray and have everything explained to me. read more

This review is solely for the office manager and or staff member who called me on Wednesday. This woman, called me to tell me that they couldn't accept my mother as a cash patient. She began to explain "their company policy" which was that they couldn't accept emergency Medi-cal applicants even though I (the patients son) was going to pay out of my own pocket to have her seen until her PPO plan kicks in November 1st. I had explained to the office manager woman that I wanted continuity of care for my mother given both the PA-C ZANE and Dr. Davis saw her while she was in the acute setting. She began to say "no we cannot accept her even as a cash patient" and I was explaining that this denial of care was not right she ended the call by saying " I have nothing else to say to you" and hung up.....WOW. I've worked in healthcare for 11 years as both a biller and case manager. This woman who represents the practice was denying my mother of services as a private pay patient. This is DISCRIMINATION. To refuse services to a patient in need and who has been seen by Dr. Davis and PA-C Zane is extremely unethical and potentially a violation per the department of human health services. I had left a message for PA-C Zane through his Medical assist voice message and have yet to hear back. I'd like to believe the Drs and PA are great. It is possible that only this location (Simi) is being mis-represented by people like her. read more

Had appointment to meet the orthopedic doctor. Instead, after waiting a week, I was only able to see his PA. I was concerned about a few things that might be wrong, and PA was unfamiliar with the diagnosis. After waiting another week for an MRI and then another week for a return visit, again I met the PA who told me I needed surgery. This was shocking to me. I suggested I would like to speak to the doctor about this and she told me that the next appointment would be in six weeks. so I found another orthopedic doctor to go to. He told me that this facility did not know what they were talking about, and that the PA was inept and inadequate at her diagnosis. He gave me an ultrasound and immediately I was told there was nothing wrong with me other than a hematoma! He indicated it would heal on its own. He asked me if the original PA did any ultrasound on me, which is the gold standard of this type of injury diagnostic. He was amazed to find out they did not!Within one week after seeing this second ortho, there was no longer an injury. Ventura Orthopedics in Simi Valley misdiagnosed me! they scared me into believing that I would need surgery, and then told me it would take six weeks for me to confirm that with the doctor. This was emotionally traumatizing! do not go there, do not trust them. They are hacks and all they want to do is bill bill bill bill the insurance company! read more
