    Boat ride from Moon Palace
    Edna G.

If you have all day to spare, Ventura Park is part of the credits we received at Moon Palace resort for $100 USD. I believe you can also purchase this from other resorts. I would think this is a great choice to use since it's a water park; great for kids! Our ride there was by boat for a half an hour. Make sure to wear sunblock before getting on as even if the sun is not out or it's cloudy, you will tan! I got hella dark!! Here are some of my opinions: Pros - they pick you up to arrive when park opens at 10a so you get first dibs on the rides - zip lining as much as you want - unlimited food and drinks; including alcohol - transportation included - staff friendly and helpful even if they had a hard time speaking English. - lost of plans under the shade to use. Cons - I think the time they pick you up to go there 9:20a and pick you up for drop off (4:30p) is too long. - have to pay for towels, locker and ice cream! - towels and locker rentals are expensive - Sunrise restaurant food is not good or food really has no flavor. (They do change the lunch food to early dinner but I would rather get bk to our resort inclusive food to eat. I brought snacks just in case; glad I did! - some rides were closed - some of the pools were not as clean or filtered as she thought it would be. We didn't rent lockers since we took turns watching our stuff. We did rent a few towels to share and if you return it, you get $3 back. Go here during the weekday and no summers to avoid crowds! All in all, all the kids and adults had fun especially in the wave pool! Worth it if the kids love water, slides, and ziplining! [46/100]

3 1/2 stars! I went to Ventura Park around 1015am on a Friday and the park wasn't packed which I was very happy about. The lifeguards were nice and offered to help us take pictures. There were about 4 water slides I believe. I went on all of them. I also went zip lining. I was disappointed that when I went they said a lot of things were not working. The only roller coaster was not working and the virtual Star Wars game was not working. They mentioned that we could do the race card but that wasn't in our agenda for this trip. Race cars are fun with more people. The plants and the view of the ocean were pretty spectacular! I saw a lot of lizards/ geckos while I was there. I would recommend anyone to visit and check it out for yourself.

Be very careful when renting lockers here. See photo below. Someone was stocking us while we were renting locker and recorded the number we entered. Those numbers are so huge. Got 3 backpack stolen that day. Was horrible. We were able to watch surveillance tape and saw the whole thing happened. By the time the police arrive, the park closed and our bus was already there to pick us up. Luckily nothing too important in locker. Did loose an IPhone and some $$. Be very careful when entering number and maybe not leave anything important in locker. I want to make sure to wArn everyone that this is happening and don't let yourself become a victim.

Check the prices before you get overcharged by your tour company!

We spent the morning getting ready for our noon tour, then took the bus to the location. Through a bit of overzealousness on our part, we arrived 45 minutes early, only to find out the tour was cancelled to do...maybe the wind? The boats and snorkeling weren't possible to go out. A few of us cancelled, but some decided they wanted to still do the trip the following day (our last day), but we asked them to please notify us in case it was cancelled beforehand so they didn't have to take another bus ride for no reason. I emailed the morning of, because of the strong winds all throughout the night. I did receive an email back, saying they hadn't heard if the tour was going to take place but I'd be notified in case of something had changed. Welp, those that were going had no choice to leave and hop on the bus for their tour...only to find out, the snorkeling part was cancelled, but they could do the boat ride if they wanted. Since snorkeling was their main reason for going, they decided to cancel. It would have been great to know this before hand. The refunds were processed pretty promptly and we were grateful for that, but it's a shame there wasn't much communication that wasted time (and money) that could have used for something else both times.

There was free parking before arriving but the small fee at Cancun Bay resort was WELL worth the hassle of parking further and walking. Juanito met us out front and escorted us to the check in desk. We showed out prepaid receipt but still had to pay the $15 per person marina fee (which was advised prior to arrival). We all received a sealed snorkeling snorkel and Jose passed out the Mask to all that needed. Jose and Juanito were super! While on the Jungle Tour one of our boats lost power after we arrived at our diving spot. Jose called for a replacement boat and they switched boats before we had finished snorkeling. It was a bummer at first but Jose handled very quickly. I would recommend this tour for families and first time snorkelers. You get about 45 minutes of snorkeling and about 45 minutes of a great boat Tour. Back at the Marina all employees had on mask, social distanced, hand sanitizer and the bathrooms (banos) were clean and in great shape!!! There was a bar and restaurant but we didn't patronize. My Love and I had SO MUCH FUN here acting like a couple of regular fools!…read more We selected the evening visit option, which runs from 5:00 PM -11:30 PM. We didn't want to be running around in the hot sun, and we figured the lines would be lighter in the evening. Surprisingly, it was still super busy! We visited in early January, and the evening temperatures were mild. You can visit as many attractions as you like during your visit. We started out ziplining and moved our way to the amphibious vehicles, cave rafts, and a few water slides. Our faces hurt from laughing so much. The provided dinner is buffet style and surprisingly good! Lots of options, including vegan and vegetarian. The dining hall is huge, so you're not siting elbow-to-elbow with randoms. They spaced everyone out nicely (plus not everyone is dining at the same time). Water shoes are required. You can purchase them on-site for $20, and these suckers will last you a lifetime. They're nice quality and comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis, and my feet were protected and cushioned the entire time. Helmets are required and provided. There are lockers, but the rooms are all co-ed. You will need to bring your own towel. Phones are discouraged, as you need to hold on with both hands when participating in many of the activities. You can buy a waterproof case to hang around your neck if you'd like. YOU WILL GET WET ON NEARLY EVERY RIDE. Wear swimwear and something over it if you don't want your hiney hanging out. The staff are SUPER patient and very friendly. Everyone is bilingual (Spanish/English) so no worries about communication barriers. This place is fun for kids all the way up to (fit) senior citizens. There is a lot of walking, so be forewarned! Taxis are easy to catch here, with the assistance of the outdoor staff. It was about a $40 fare from and to our Riviera Maya hotel (Hard Rock). I am still laughing my head off!

Minor criticisms - *It was a little confusing to get around, as signage was a bit inconsistent and occasionally conspicuous until you got your general bearings. *Food was pretty meh, if you're staying at an Xcaret Hotel I'd try to eat before/after your visit, if possible. *The water slide rider thru put isn't great, so I imagine wait times on very busy days can get out of hand in a hurry. Your biggest snags will be the lines for the water slides, bird flight, and the Xensatorium. There is a fast pass for the bird flight experience. The kids and I really wanted to check this place out. It had been a long time since we had been here. Since it's a smaller park, it can be overlooked, but the park really tests the five senses. When you first get in you will have the ability to see the various optical illusions (via mirrors, special effects, or room layouts) and take selfies of those moments. The lobby imhas several selfie experiences, starting from the entrance to the locker rooms. Then there's the pueblo, where you will run into an upside down town. You think you are walking uphill but feel the opposite. There will be other opportunities to take selfies of you being in the ceiling, standing over a bottomless pit, or jumping towards the ground...it's all crazy in the Pueblo Abajo Town. The Xensatorium will have you enter a totally darkened tunnel where you will have to use the rest of your senses to feel, smell, and listen your way through the cave...cold, wet, warm, breezy, misty, ...finally ending in a cavern. The bird experience is extremely short, but it heads up the way to the heated float pools, and the muddy river, ...bucket showers will clean you off and you're onto the next one. I thought it was fun, and you can stay there as long as you like. The one thing I don't like about it is the Xnack bar isn't free, you have to pay for the food here...unlike the other parks. If you like selfies, you'll enjoy this park.

There is SO much to do that you genuinely can't fit it all in one day--underground rivers, beaches, snorkeling spots, wildlife exhibits, and cultural experiences throughout the park. Everything is beautifully maintained, super clean, and very well organized. The staff was helpful from start to finish, and the whole place felt safe and easy to navigate. Food options were plentiful with something for everyone, and it was a huge plus that meals were included. There's also plenty of parking (we didn't have to pay), which made getting there stress-free. A few helpful tips: * Bring water shoes - you'll thank yourself in the rivers * Bring a waterproof phone pouch - must-have for photos * You'll need to sign a waiver at the start * You'll receive a wristband + locker key with a chip (included, no extra charge--just don't lose it!) * There are plenty of showers and changing areas, plus parking within the park Be prepared--there is a LOT of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and pace yourself.
