This has been on my bucket list for years. When I saw Royal Caribbean had a shore excursion going here when we were in Cozumel I jumped on it because the resort is so expensive! It was so amazing and now we are trying to plan a trip to the resort! We only had about 5 hours here and could really use like 3 whole days to really enjoy the park. There was so much to do! The only complaint besides not enough time was that the "lazy river" wasn't lazy, it was a workout! lol you had to keep yourself moving you couldn't just float. It is really hard to describe what Xcaret is, you just have to experience it yourself!

We love Parque Xcaret! Specially during the "Día de Muertos" celebrations. They have special activities and entertainment, and they usually have a state as the guest of honor, this year was the state of Michoacán. They have a special area where you can find artisans showcasing their products, they have them for sale as well. There is music and dances from the guest state, as well as food, it is a completely immersive experience.

One of several parks of Xcaret, this is the original and main park to visit. It is huge and spread out, needing more than a day to explore. There it plenty of staff to guide you and maps all around. It was very well marked so really no way to get lost. There is a great variety of things to do and see here. The highlight for me was the river which takes about an hour to float down. Life jackets and fins are provided. There are lockers at the entrance of the river to lock up your belongings. If you would like your belongings to arrive at the other end of the river instead, that option is available as well. There are picture packages available for a fee, and many photo spots around the park. To avoid carrying your phone or camera, this photo package is a wonderful option. Single park or multi-park packages are available. You can take as many pictures as you'd like and all are included in your package. Shows, shopping, animals to visit, and much much more. Highly recommend visiting this park.

Expect to be here for the whole day if you want to do everything. There's a gigantic swirl water slide. They have a lot of different animals such as turtles, flamingos, tropical birds, etc. They have side shows that go on at certain times like horse riding and bull lassoing. The butterfly garden was magnificent. They would even land on you since they were accustomed to people. The enclosure was HUGE. There's a bunch of different kinds of restaurants and buffets. Highly recommend the Restaurante la Peninsula. The service was top tier and the food was very filling and delicious. Gorgeous view of the water too. Would 100% come back!

This park is a must stop, everything is so beautiful and well preserved. I had a fabulous time exploring this humongous paradise. I did the underwater river and was assisted by the most amazing life guard I ever did meet - Valentin. The animals were so free and abundant. The exhibition of culture and history was so incredible to explore. The packages and services of the staff were above expected. Plenty of water stations to refill bottles. Please bring a hat, close toed water shoes, and a waterproof phone case. Also, remember that you will be walking A LOT, I did 6.7 miles in 8 hours and had a blast doing it. My only note is that the water does inhibit the automatic cameras from taking the photos. Also my best friend paid almost 34.29 for a margarita and a bag of chips on the path. However, at our lunch I only paid 18 something. Just some things to keep in mind when planning.

Just spent 4 nights at Hotel Xcaret Arte and this awesome theme park was included in the price. I really like how there is a great focus on the animals however I do not support keeping dolphins captive. Aside from that this place is honestly beautiful and we had a really awesome day here. There are many different places where you can get in the water, you can interact with dolphins and manatees or you can just sit in a hammock or a chair and lounge. By far, my favorite part was swimming in the river. There are three different routes and the one I chose was a little bit longer than I was expecting, but it takes you basically from one side of the park to the other and was worth it in the end even though a bit tiring. The water temperature was 80° and it's honestly beautiful in there. I chose the manatee route so part of that was covered underground and part of it was uncovered. It was a really special experience and was the highlight of my day. There are restaurants on site, lockers all over, and they really do have a lot of great options and do a good job keeping the park clean. All the staff that we encountered was also very polite and I would highly recommend for families, especially. We stopped in as a couple and didn't feel it was overcrowded. The water is crystal clear and honestly, I will be thinking about this place for quite some time now that I am back home in the work cycle. Highly recommend!

Overall, great experience but super expensive. I recommend bringing a refillable water bottle because water here is so expensive. Bring water shoes, a change of clothes. The lunch package is worth it and the photo package as well is great. There is a kid section that we appreciated having a 4 year old. The river was great but so many people that don't know how to swim made it a bit dangerous.

This place is huge. Was only here for a few hours. Got to start early as soon as they open and research before hand everything that interests you at this specific park. Got to wear comfortable shoes and bring sunscreen and water.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy, and you can pay extra for more unique experiences;) -Night Show- This show was a fantastic way to experience Mexican history and culture. The dances and ancient sports performed up close were incredibly powerful, making me feel like I had stepped into another world. You can pay extra to enjoy the show while having dinner. The Mexican course meal came with refreshing drinks, as well as white and red wine. The food was delicious, and the view of the show from the dining area was excellent! -Underground Rivers- The water was crystal clear and stunningly beautiful. The route was surprisingly long, with several picturesque spots along the way for photos. -Stingray Sea Trek- This experience felt like being an astronaut underwater. At first, I was nervous about not being able to breathe, but the detailed explanation and the presence of many instructors who could help in case of emergencies made me feel safe. Once I got into the water, my ears felt a bit sore from the water pressure. I got to see fish and large stingrays, but the water was a bit murky, and there weren't many fish. While it was fun, I don't think I'd do it again.

Such an amazing experience. I enjoyed the caves and underground rivers. I wish I would've take advantage of the photo bracelet bc it here were so many photo ops.

Xcaret park was quite impressive!! We arrived at 8am via our tour bus and stayed the entire day using the VIP pass which included lockers and a free meal. There is so much to do at this park. We enjoyed the lazy river which was the longest swim I've ever experienced! Also we explored the cemetery, the birds area, the manatee, the turtles, and the sharks. We did not buy a water event but felt that there was plenty to do! Definitely stay for the evening ceremony which was great. Great experience for the family but it will be a tiring day.

This place is seriously overpriced for what you get. I paid $200 USD, which just feels crazy high. I live in Quintana Roo and only found out after my visit that locals get 50% off. When I bought my ticket online, there was no option to say I'm a resident. Pretty frustrating. I got the package with food included, but you can only eat once the whole day. The park is huge, and after hours of walking around, you're obviously going to get hungry again and that's when they get you. Everything inside is insanely expensive. A michelada? 300 pesos! The menu says 200, but then your bill shows another 100 pesos just for the plastic glass ‍. Water and other basics are also way overpriced. The evening show was amazing and I did enjoy parts of the day, but honestly, for what they charge, it's just not worth it.

What a Fun park! Xcaret was simply amazing! So much beauty and nature surrounding this location. Animal interactions and a lot of entertainment. This park was so clean and easy to get around it. You will do a lot of walking. Bring good walking shoes! I recommend getting the picture package! You'll get the most amazing pictures with the best angels and views. Def a place for children. It is on the pricey side of parks but we thought it was worth it.

We didn't want to be running around in the hot sun, and we figured the lines would be lighter in the evening. Surprisingly, it was still super busy! We visited in early January, and the evening temperatures were mild. You can visit as many attractions as you like during your visit. We started out ziplining and moved our way to the amphibious vehicles, cave rafts, and a few water slides. Our faces hurt from laughing so much. The provided dinner is buffet style and surprisingly good! Lots of options, including vegan and vegetarian. The dining hall is huge, so you're not siting elbow-to-elbow with randoms. They spaced everyone out nicely (plus not everyone is dining at the same time). Water shoes are required. You can purchase them on-site for $20, and these suckers will last you a lifetime. They're nice quality and comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis, and my feet were protected and cushioned the entire time. Helmets are required and provided. There are lockers, but the rooms are all co-ed. You will need to bring your own towel. Phones are discouraged, as you need to hold on with both hands when participating in many of the activities. You can buy a waterproof case to hang around your neck if you'd like. YOU WILL GET WET ON NEARLY EVERY RIDE. Wear swimwear and something over it if you don't want your hiney hanging out. The staff are SUPER patient and very friendly. Everyone is bilingual (Spanish/English) so no worries about communication barriers. This place is fun for kids all the way up to (fit) senior citizens. There is a lot of walking, so be forewarned! Taxis are easy to catch here, with the assistance of the outdoor staff. It was about a $40 fare from and to our Riviera Maya hotel (Hard Rock). I am still laughing my head off!

Minor criticisms - *It was a little confusing to get around, as signage was a bit inconsistent and occasionally conspicuous until you got your general bearings. *Food was pretty meh, if you're staying at an Xcaret Hotel I'd try to eat before/after your visit, if possible. *The water slide rider thru put isn't great, so I imagine wait times on very busy days can get out of hand in a hurry. I also complained about the helmets all day long until I soundly wacked my head and was 12/10 glad to have it on .

Your biggest snags will be the lines for the water slides, bird flight, and the Xensatorium. There is a fast pass for the bird flight experience. The kids and I really wanted to check this place out. It had been a long time since we had been here. Since it's a smaller park, it can be overlooked, but the park really tests the five senses. When you first get in you will have the ability to see the various optical illusions (via mirrors, special effects, or room layouts) and take selfies of those moments. The lobby imhas several selfie experiences, starting from the entrance to the locker rooms. Then there's the pueblo, where you will run into an upside down town. You think you are walking uphill but feel the opposite. There will be other opportunities to take selfies of you being in the ceiling, standing over a bottomless pit, or jumping towards the ground...it's all crazy in the Pueblo Abajo Town. The Xensatorium will have you enter a totally darkened tunnel where you will have to use the rest of your senses to feel, smell, and listen your way through the cave...cold, wet, warm, breezy, misty, ...finally ending in a cavern. The bird experience is extremely short, but it heads up the way to the heated float pools, and the muddy river, ...bucket showers will clean you off and you're onto the next one. I thought it was fun, and you can stay there as long as you like. The one thing I don't like about it is the Xnack bar isn't free, you have to pay for the food here...unlike the other parks. If you like selfies, you'll enjoy this park.

The food was decent for a buffet at a water park. The three different restaurants had a variety of options. The bars around the park would make you drinks with quality spirits for an all inclusive like Bacardi, Malibu, etc. We were trying to order our tickets online the same day but we kept getting an error message. We called their helpline and purchased tickets over the phone. I was glad we did because we received a discount! Lastly, there are stations all around the park where you can get a locker and pickup snorkel gear, etc. Don't go to the first station you see. We ate well and didn't feel like we were sacrificing quality just because it was all-inclusive. We went back for thirds lol. It's definitely a long day and there's a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and pace yourself, but that's part of the fun. We then moved into the chocolate room where I was welcomed with another drink, a chocolate margarita. Martin then should be the process of making cacao into chocolate bars. I got my hand on the mill and got to make my own cinnamon and sugar bar for cocoa. I was then treated to a dish of mole with chips and chocolate covered snacks. We learned where and how chocolate was grown and how it came to be a key crop and export for Mexico. We tasted a wonderful hot Mexican chocolate as well as the raw cacao beans. We then split in to pairs and were directed to a grinder where we ground our own beans and then massaged the product with our hands until the fat had softened. They service many hotels along the hotel zone, and their customer service online is convenient and answers any questions as soon as possible. The drive to the site is not too long and upon arrival you're greeted by the extremely friendly and hospitable staff. Once you check in, you are offered to upgrade your experience by paying a supplementary fee to add on a more VIP experience package which consists of a smaller tour group, more hands on, unlimited food, and such. I was by myself so I decided to opt in, and was given a complimentary glass of champagne as well. It was an additional $50 to upgrade which wasn't that bad and after the excursion was over, I felt it was extremely worth it. The other groups seemed very crowded and it would be less enjoyable granted these were all shared activities. You are then given a wristband and taken to the gift shop area where you can purchase items such as goggles for the ATV, scarves and protective gear, snorkeling equipment, and water shoes. You can also buy souvenirs. Then you are lead to the waiting area where you can meet everyone in your much smaller group, instructed by the staff what the rules and restrictions are, and you place all of your belongings (including cell phone!) inside a locker. There are no phones allowed at all- but this is also because they offer a photo package at an additional cost which takes professional pictures of you which they will try convincing you to buy since you have no personal photos of yourself. After the first two activities, you are allowed to go to your locker and retrieve your items to change for the cenote, so you can have belongings on you. Now lets breakdown the activities: First stop: ATV ride. Now this starts the tour off strong and this was my personal favorite activity. It was an incredible experience and you get your own ATV so you really can enjoy it to the fullest. You ride through a mud road and path and get to feel like a pro driver almost! It's incredibly fun and exhilarating and I loved every moment I wish it was longer!!! The ATV is easy to handle and the staff is following you on their own vehicle so if help is needed it's always nearby. Second: Zip line! After the intense atv ride, you get right into the next activity which is zip lining. You are harnessed and strapped up safely and then instructed to wait as everyone also gets securely prepared to zip line. The set up is as any standard course, and you walk from line to line and up steps and such to go through it. This was also extremely fun and exciting- if you have never done it before it is somewhat scary at first but it goes quick and is not very high so even an intermediate can do it! This was a little bit tiring because its two intense things back to back but I loved it as well. Third: Tequila tasting You have a small break where you can hydrate at the locker station and get your belongings to head to the tequila tasting. The teacher was extremely funny and educational, and the walk through the forest is actually so beautiful and scenic. The class walks you through a bunch of different kinds of tequila with many different options for all kinds of drinkers. You are also given the option to buy a bottle of tequila to take home! This was an insightful experience and you get to mix and mingle with your fellow group members! There is a break in between where tacos and drinks are served. Chips and guacamole, and you can eat as many tacos as possible and also order other food if you would like. The food was fresh and delicious, as most of the food I had tried in Mexico. Finale: Cenote! Now this was absolutely breathtaking. After changing into your bikini, you are given a life vest and walk(or canon ball) into the cenote. It is something everyone must see in their lifetime. The natural cave and water is stunning, and there are actually bats inside! Small fish also live inside the water. You are in the water cooling off for about 30 minutes and a photographer is following you the entire time! Snapping cute photos. Once everyone is out, you return back to the food area and are then given the option to buy the photos of you taken during the adventure. They are all digitally given to you if you purchase them and extremely good shots! I bought them and will add them to this review. Once the fun is over(sadly) you return to the front of the park, and are instructed which van to get into that will return you back to your hotel. I was exhausted riding back and it was raining so I was tired but arrived to my hotel around 4:30pm. So thankful for being able to participate in this and very appreciative of the staff and wonderful people of Mexico who allow all these amazing things to happen every day!!!! I strongly recommend this to anyone who really wants to explore and do something out of their comfort zone!

The 4 wheelers are in very poor condition and held together with numerous zip ties. A couple of them broke down on our ride. The trails are very beat up from over use. The helmets were gross and smelled like sweat. The tequila tasting was informative. The Cenotes look nicer in the pictures then they actually are. Our driver on the way there was driving so fast so that was a bit scary. At the

If anyone wants to visit a dying water park, this is it!…read more More than half of the attractions were closed on a Saturday in June. It looked like there wasn't anywhere near enough staff to open the rides. All of Aaahventura was closed the entire day except for the zip line for 1 hour. They'll tell you to keep coming back later in the day (4pm) so they can get one large group in, then shut the ride down again. All of the large water slides were closed. I've never seen an empty lazy river in the middle of summer until I came here. You have to rent inner tubes for $150 MXN so anyone who ventured in there just swam it and ignored all the signs saying not to do that. The lifeguard was cool about it. Don't waste your time at this park unless you're getting free tickets and you can drive out of there once you've had enough!

Lockers are $11 for a medium size! Tubes for the lazy river are $9. We thought we were getting a ticket that included everything, but they figure out ways to get you to spend a lot more. Half the rides were closed. The zip lining was cool but only opened for a few hours. So you had to plan between that and the water park. The lines were short, so that was cool too.

It is confusing when you get down there bc you can't actually see the beach and beach chairs. But yea, don't waste money on a locker. And you have to go back up to the entrance to buy fish food. There is an ATM nearby down the street. We tried the nachos and they were just okay. The guacamole that came with it were very salty. I also didn't like the snorkels. They were constantly getting foggy. Someone who was there while I was got a rash on their leg because they touched the rocks.

I wouldn't recommend coming here at full price as it's absolutely not worth it. Instead of…read morerelaxing, you end up spending the entire day standing in endless lines. My husband and I waited 40 minutes at the bar, then 65 minutes for the zipline, and another 50 minutes for snorkeling. There was basically no enjoyment, just constant frustration. We didn't even get a chance to eat, even though it was included in the price. The café closed at 4:00 PM while the park itself stays open until 5:00 PM, which makes no sense. The pool was also very cloudy, like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. We paid 1,000 pesos for two people since we live in Quintana Roo (about 500 pesos per person), and at that price it's somewhat acceptable. But if you're a tourist paying full price, it's honestly not worth it at all. And what really made the experience uncomfortable: while I was in the women's shower/changing area, a woman walked in with her son who looked around 12 years old, right at the moment when I was changing my underwear. When I pointed out that this was the women's area, she said, "He's just a child." That felt completely inappropriate and uncomfortable. It also doesn't seem like staff are enforcing basic rules about access to changing and shower areas.

Cozumel Day at Paradise Beach…read more We booked the all-inclusive day pass through Viator and saved 10%, and honestly... anytime I can save a little money, I will. Quick tip for anyone going: when you walk out of the port and head to the taxi line, don't just jump into the first one. Our first driver tried to upcharge us quite a bit. We kept walking and were able to negotiate. I had heard it's usually around $15 per ride (not per person), but we ended up paying $20 -- and honestly it's a bit of a drive, so I get it. Also... those taxi drivers drive like we're in GTA. Once we arrived, the vibe was totally peaceful. Yes, the chairs are fairly close together (similar setup to Mr. Sanchos), but Paradise Beach felt much calmer and less of a party scene, which we really appreciated. The food and drinks were actually really good for an all-inclusive beach club. We tried quite a few things: * Nachos * Quesadillas * Blue cheese burger * Grilled shrimp * Coconut shrimp * Grilled mahi tacos -- which were the highlight The beach was nice, the pool was great, and you basically pick your "home base" (pool or beach) so your waiter knows where to find you for food and drinks. A few other things worth noting: Great bathrooms and changing rooms Lockers available (extra fee) Inflatable water park for kids (extra fee) Paddleboards and snorkeling (extra fee) Would I go again? Yes.
