Scott is so amazing to work with and his results are beautiful at a very fair price. He helped us redo our entire entryway by installing floor tile and wall panels. Our almost 100-year-old SF floor and walls came with some surprises but Scott always had a solution and made sure the project was done right. We've been living with the new entryway space for about a year and it looks as good now as it did when Scott first finished the job. Scott Ventura is a master craftsman. We rebuilt our house from the ground up with two new full bathrooms - all tile. Each of the rooms had its own design and style. He set up his tile saw in the bedroom and the house was getting new drywall which meant he had to share space with other work crews. For a while it was pretty cozy but they got through it without a hitch. Scott has a way to manage his work with the least amount of interference. His tools and supplies were cleaned and neatly stored every day when he completed his work. Scott intuitively knew better than to trust my measurements. He took his own and the pictures speak for his work better than I could. He's creative, meticulous and thoughtful. After using the bathrooms three months now. There is nothing I would change, and I like to make changes. We did make some changes based on Scott's suggestions. Final point: Scott's work is so fine that we have asked him to come back and tile around our fireplace - the focal point of the house. read more

I hired Ventura Tile & Marble to re-tile a shower. Initially Scott, the owner and installer, was only going to retile the shower pan/floor. Once the job began, he quickly discovered that the shower pan had deteriorated and should be completing rebuilt in order to avoid potential dry rot. Scott's communication was clear (no need to brush up on a 2nd language) and the written re-quote to now retile the entire shower was fair. This felt reassuring since my shower now didn't have a floor and I was at the mercy of my tile man. The job proceeded without a hitch, and five days later I had a beautiful new shower. In addition to the benefits of dealing directly with the owner/operator, Scott's work was excellent with great attention to detail. All the grout lines matched up, he framed the tile around the shower's opening, and tiled the ceiling. We had the pleasure of Scott working on our bathroom and are absolutely satisfied with the outcome Scott's work. The job Scott performed was the third tiling project we did in our house in the last 4 years. Based on our previous experiences with other tilers we made our expectations clear upfront. After learning that our shower had been leaking water due to faulty construction following a remodel 6 years ago by the previous owners, we had to completely replace our bathroom floor, including the supporting beams and cabinets and decided to go for it and significantly upgrade the bathroom. We upgraded the floors in our home with porcelain tile and couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of our project thanks to Scott of Ventura Tile and Marble; over 800 feet including entry way, kitchen. bathroom, laundry and living room. We knew Scott was professional from the beginning, he took time to design the layout so the outcome is aesthetically pleasing from every direction and lives up to its FULL potential. We chose a modified 'versailles' pattern which is somewhat complicated with different tile sizes but Scott made the install look easy implementing the design to perfection with precision cuts for the many angles in our home. Scott just completed a second project for us, replacement of the tile in our entry foyer. We are a couple of architects and needless to say, we would not have re-hired him if he could not execute our vision with accuracy and attention to the little details. He takes great care with layout and we are sure that you will not be disappointed with his craftsmanship. On this project we ran into an unexpected condition where the original tile had been installed on a mortar bed that was directly on soil. Scott was able to coordinate with a concrete subcontractor who poured a new concrete slab so the end result is much more stable and will give us many years of use. read more

He wants to give the best product to his customer. Our project was a kitchen reface. It seemed simple from the outset, but it became a larger and longer project than everyone expected. Scott knew what needed to be done at each turn. Each detail was handled with the attention it deserved, and the final result was beyond what we had hoped. Our BIGGEST reason for choosing Scott, however, was his professional, clean, trust-worthy style. We needed someone we could trust with our home and around our small children. He proved to be exactly what we needed. He was very clean and conscientious about our children (one a toddler, and the other just learning to crawl--which means we needed a danger-free construction site.) Each night he cleaned his work area and put away his tools in the safest manner. We stayed in the home during the project (which is not always easy,) but Scott made it livable. I had a new bathroom installed and my contractor, who was installing bathroom, did a horrific job installing the shower. The entire shower needed to be demo'ed and redone. I contacted Scott and that night he came to the job to have a look and offer an assessment. Scott was very professional from the start. He was diligent and careful throughout the project. He was very clean and worked around our schedule as needed. But beyond that, his work is outstanding and it shows. When my plumber came to do the finish work he commented: "...tile guy is really good I would like to refer him...Hard to find good tile guys, he did really good on the whole job, grout looks good also...". I am very happy with my new shower and I am grateful I found Scott to do the job. read more

I cannot agree with the other reviews. I hired Scott Ventura to install a tile shower pan because his time frames were perfect for me. Not only did I want the shower pan installed but also I wanted him to install an under-counter sink in the bathroom. He said he would figure it into the bid. The bid came in at $3000.00 dollars and I would supply all the tile and also haul away all the trash. I also would pay for any extra wood needed and extra plumbing. He said the job would take 3 days. It took six. When the sink bowl wasn't going to arrive for three weeks he said that he couldn't come back to the job and bring all his tools into the house three weeks later. I assumed he would deduct the amount of the installation off of the $3000.00, but he didn't. He said that he just threw in the sink installation and that I still owed him the full $3000.00. He would however come back and install the sink for $250.00. No thanks. Next, according to the contract, when the tile was installed I would make a payment. He texted me and said bring the money. I replied, the tile is not installed yet. He said, "it will be today." I had a long commute and I would not be there when the tile was installed. He told me I was playing games. Huh? He took tile residue or mortar residue and dumped it at the base of a 25 year old tree. When I pointed that out to him he said, "just let it dry and break it up then mix it in with the soil." I came back the next day to remove it, and it was broken up and mix in with the soil. I was upset. Next he brought an invoice with additional charges on it. Lumber and a 40"x40" tapered pad that he called plumbing, and I was responsible for. Total $119. I called tile suppliers and they told me that the tapered pad is not considered plumbing, yet he was charging me for it as plumbing. He then threw trash in the tenants trash container. I asked him why he didn't put the trash in a plastic bag and I would haul it away. He said he didn't have one. He re-installed the shower door but it wouldn't close. He said he was finished. I told him that was unacceptable, a shower door that won't close. He said I put it back the way it came out. Then he told me that I had experience in the trades and why didn't I fix the shower door. It will be a long time before I get over the audacity of this young man. If his shower pan fails I will think about hiring someone else to do the repairs. Beware! read more
