This was our first time ordering from Ventura's, even though we've passed by dozens of times. We fancied ordering out Italian food on a Frodsy afternoon at work after a nearer Italian restaurant didn't answer their phone. I was able to view the menu online and paid cash when picking up. The woman answering the phone was polite and helpful. She was probably the same woman who handed me our order. I got a chef's salad and my wife ordered stromboli. Both were delicious! ( I sampled hers!) The restaurant is easy to find with ample parking, what seems to have been a full bar, and outside seating. We'll definitely return and eat in sometime. Fairfield is just outside of Gettysburg if you're visiting. I'm fairly confident that this is a family owned business which I prefer to huge chains. Try it, you'll like it! read more

What a great surprise in this family owned pizza place just outside of Gettysburg. Pizza was really great, lots of sauce and a hearty crispy crust. We also had their breaded Buffalo wings which were enormous with just the right kick. Highly recommend if you're in the area. read more

Big portions for good prices (but I'm also from California where everything is expensive), nicely decorated and cozy. Quite clean as well, even the ketchup bottles, which usually have dried up splatters of ketchup in the lid, spotless. I had the chicken parmigiana, which came with salad and garlic bread. I didn't know the pastas came with salad, but the salad was good! Not just lettuce, it had cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and the best white onion slices I've ever had. House dressing was quite sour though. Lots of chicken parm, good ratio of chicken to spaghetti. At least 2 dinners worth of food. Others in my party had the bacon mac n cheese burger, cheesesteak sub, and chicken fettuccine alfredo. The mac n cheese was interesting, not bad, but not too much bacon flavor, has some tang to it. The fries were really good but a bit salty. Garlic bread with the alfredo was delicious. No complaints on the cheesesteak. For dessert (There's many choices like lemon meringue pie and carrot cake and lots of others that looked really tasty as well), I had the cheesecake, which is made in house by the owners. It was so soft, lovely cheesecake. If I could make any changes, I would just want more crust because I'm a crusty gal. Long story short: good cheesecake. Staff was friendly too :) I called ahead of time asking if we needed to book reservations and the guy was like, "I don't think you need to worry about that" and I thought that was funny. read more

Nope. Well the pizza tasted like that of an elementary school, or maybe they could have done it better. We ordered Chicken tenders as well for our little one and they tasted like onion rings I'm guessing oil hadn't been changed in awhile. The Coke had run its course and was more of a brown water. And all of this took almost 25 mins just to order it. From an Italian pizzeria; pizza should be its speciality and that is far fetched. There was us and one other couple at 11:40. During a recent stay in Fairfield, ordered takeout pizza from this very busy restaurant. Relatively large parking lot was full on that Friday evening but seemed to be turning over at a steady pace. I idled in the driveway while my friend went inside for the pie. Me sitting there didn't cause any problems. We ordered at 7 and showed up a little early but the pizza was on time. They have great specials, Monday the 1/2 price pizza is a steal. I recently had the crab cake dinner, which really did not have any filler! The sampler platter is not oily at all and a bargain for all you get, I always split it! My friends and I have been going to trivia Thursdays at 7, it's wings night, and the first and LAST time I ordered bone in wings they had hardly any meat, lots of breading and in a pile of oil. However, last week I tried a 1/2 order of boneless and they were really good, not greasy at all. Huge menu, something for anyone. read more

Ordered the Heart Smart pizza (veggie) and added black olives and sausage. It was great! Added onion rings as a side because the wife saw them at another table and she (we) enjoyed them too. This place is definitely a hidden gem. As far as sports bars go, I find it funny that a very backwoods town in PA has a better sports bar than Northern VA. But I digress. The beers here are insanely cheap. Just going to drink for the evening on the weekends is worth the trip itself. The bar area is surrounded with televisions and they've always got something on that you'll want to watch. In the dining area, the service may be a tad slow, but it's well worth it. The mystery "alcohol slushie" was a delicious mango thing and I was quite happy with it (after of course responsibly driving home with drinks in the trunk - I appreciated the helpful advisory "that's legally an Open Container!" sign). Cheesesteak wrap was exactly what I was looking for - not too heavy, but still substantial and tasty, with plenty of meat and a good balance of fixings. Things seemed a little disorganized and it took a little longer to get our order than advertised by the website, but it was still the tail end of the dinner rush and anyway I figure a little slowness probably just means they're actually following new safety guidelines in the kitchen, which is great. read more

I frequent this restaurant and from the amount of vehicles in the parking lot, so do a lot of other locals. On Monday night they have 12" specialty pizzas for 7.49. We really love the crab dip pizza, the crab pizza (made a little differently), the taco pizza, and the spinach and feta pizza. Thursday night they have crab legs and chicken wings for 12.99. I have enjoyed their crab cakes, crab dip, and other dishes. I have never had a bad time there. read more

Nice gem of a spot for sure. Went camping at Granite Hills and decided to do dinner out versus cooking at camp. Ventures was the closest so we went with it. When we walked in, they didn't have a table for us in the restaurant, so they directed us to the lounge area; it was a great detour. With kids in tow, the $2 beer special and pizza made for a great evening with friends. Pizza was great, service was quick and very friendly. If you are in the area, hit up Venturas and grab a cold brewski and some pizza; well worth the visit. read more

their buffalo wings are amazing. and the pizza is pretty good too and not to mention HUGE. its just that it was soggy, probably because it had enormous portions of toppings. However, the crust was good. We also got cheese fries. it was a hugeee portion but the fries were a bit on the soggy side. They could have also used a better type of cheese rather than american. We went here after snowboarding at liberty ski resort, and it hit the spot. I'd probably come here again after another snowboarding trip there, but only because it's right down the street. read more

Located on the Main St in Fairfield, I've always heard good thing about their wings and decided to check it out. After arriving my group of four waited and waited to be addressed or seated, there was a couple of servers that walked by and said someone would be right with you but, the someone seemed to never come. Once we were seated we ordered drinks and asked for a few minutes to look over the menu, which happend to be a mistake on our part. A few mins = 15 mins. Our server wasn't anything to write home about, she didn't seem to care much about our table, we interacted to order, and pay the bill. We we asked for a drink refills and got a pitcher and a basically here do it yourself. They have an array of different items on their menu, from seafood that was reasonably priced, pizzas, speciality pizzas, pasta, subs, burgers, and fries. We ordered wings, a burger, cheese fries and a speciality crab dip pizza. Our wings and cheese fries came out pretty fast. The wings lived up to the rumors. They were meaty, juicy, cooked right and the hot sauce was perfect and they weren't expensive, a dozen for 6 dollars. The cheese fries were an extremely large portion, they layer the cheese and bacon in between the fries, so not just the top has bacon and cheese but almost every bite, and it comes with sour cream and ranch on the side. The pizza was also a large portion, the dough has potential to be a really good pizza. It really needed to be cooked longer, so it came out slightly soggy and limp. The crab dip topping was delish, so I am sure their crab dip is also good. If I was to order it again, I would order it well done with a side of old bay. They seem to have promising aspects like, lunch specials for 5.50, and large bar, and wednesday night all you can eat crabs for 23.99. . read more

Made reservations this morning at 11am for 14 guests for the all you can eat crab legs, service was good however we waited over 50 minutes after the first serving of crab legs came to our table. We watched other tables get more crab legs for a party of 4 than what we received for 14. We ask our waitress what is the hold up with our food. She then went and spoke to the manager who did apologize and when I ask for a discount after sitting there for 2 hours waiting on food for 30.00 per person you would think the owner would have at the very least took time to speak to me but no he would rather lose our business.
