The food was excellent. I had the vegetarian chilli. Would have again. I asked without the jalapeños. Our table had the pulled pork and chicken marsala with mashed red potatoes. We had a side salad. I loved the chicken and mashed potatoes. Dessert looked fantastic but I had leftovers and no room for dessert. Our server, Sara B Goode, was excellent from start to finish. Great service and fantastic personality. We also liked the decor and atmosphere. We had a corner table by the window. We will be back. Next time I hope to split dessert. read more

Dropped in for a couple of drinks and a quick bite after walking around Gettysburg. Bartender was friendly and the place had an old timey feel. Celebrating my birthday so had a dirty martini and asked for extra olives.... and he came through with the extra olives. Decided to soak up the alcohol with pretzels and marinara sauce. Very disappointing experience here. Service was poor and the servers seemed unhappy and inattentive even to provide basic stuff like silverware and napkins. Went here for lunch. Very little people in there. Only college kids were here. Very young people working too. Got drinks and both were horrible. The old fashioned should not be orange color and taste like bitter orange. The worst old fashioned I've had. I love old fashioneds too. Was so bad I sent it back. The Guinness was sour and extremely bitter. Tasted like it was bad in the keg. Never had a Guinness that tasted this bad before. I drink Guinness wherever I see it at a restaurant and this was the worst one by far. Had Guinness in Ireland too, so I know how it should taste. This was so bad I sent it back and they refused to take it off the bill. They would only take 10% off and it was their fault it was horrible. The crab soup was horrible. Took over an hour to get our food, I tried to cancel it and go somewhere else due to how they handled the drink situation and would not remove it, and they would not cancel the order. I told them I'd pay for what we ate and drank only and they said I had to pay the entire bill. They brought the food out right after that and when it came out it was in to go containers and looked very bad. Told them I didn't want it and would only pay for the few things. The manager said she called the owner and they told her to only take 10% off the Guinness and give us the rest of the bill. I should not of had to pay for a bad drink that was their fault it was sour. The manager was very rude and did not seem to care about the issues at hand. She just wanted the bill paid and could care less about our experience there. Horrible service, horrible drinks, horrible food. Atmosphere sucked as well. Don't ever recommend going here anymore. It was good before covid times, it's really gone down hill now!. The Pub should be aware of how bad the economy is right now and if people come there to eat they should provide good service, good food, and not try to rip the customer off! None of that they provided except ripping me off. I'll let my bank know about the issue. Save yourself a hassle and a bad time and go to Garryowen Irish pub down the street and get much better food and drinks there. We visited The Pub & Restaurant in Lincoln Square, Gettysburg, PA on October 15, 2025. We sat at the bar and got great service from the bartender, Tim. Tim was personable, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. He did a great job. He went above and beyond! A large group of about 20 people came in and he waited on all of them so perfectly and efficiently. They all seemed to be very happy with his ability to serve them all so quickly and effortlessly. First time here. We sat on the Bar / High Table side. Very cozy atmosphere. Beer and cocktail prices were in my opinion very reasonable. More so given the Pub's location. We started off with the Poutine which was enough for a table of four. Mrs had the Chili and I had the French onion. Both good. The chili came out screaming hot. Best ever Meatloaf I've ever had!!! And the burger my wife has was delicious too. For me a little disappointed in the French Onion soup was average. Nice twist with the pretzel instead of croutons. The chocolate cake was huge and delicious. It took us a couple of nights to finish it at home. Our waitress was great, spot in on and attentive!!! We'll be back!!! read more

We happened to spot this place as it is right across the street from our hotel. We walked in for what would be an early dinner and were greeted right away and taken to our booth. Our server arrived promptly and was very friendly throughout the entire visit. I ordered a cup of their tomato bisque soup (offered on Wednesdays) which has cream cheese in it. It was delicious! Their cup of soup is larger than most places and felt almost like a bowl. I also ordered the patty melt, medium well. It was cooked just right and was nice & juicy. The rye was toasted to perfection. Get the beer battered fries with it, you won't regret it. The atmosphere in the place when we were there was pretty quiet as there weren't many other guests. They do have a bar with multiple TVs so I'd wager during sporting events it may be pretty loud. read more

When she did come to our table, she talked about how great the food was and made a couple of recommendations and served us water. Expecting her to come back at least with our soft drinks, and take our food order, we waited over 20 minutes. Meanwhile she made at least 3 trips with food, drink, and to simply carry on a conversation with the same table she had been chatting with when we sat down originally. Had looked forward to eating because of the good comments from friends, but we left, still not receiving our soft drinks or soup after 20 minutes. My server was THE BEST. I wish I could remember her name, all I can tell you is she took care of me in the outdoor section on Friday 8/19 at probably 8-9pm. She's married to another staff member (cute pub couple!). Loved her. She was just so sweet and friendly. The clam chowder was very tasty and different since it has hard boiled egg and is a spin on the New England classic. I'd definitely recommend it and order it again. We wanted something light to eat and this restaurant was across the street from our hotel. My husband ordered the Cream of Crab and I ordered the french onion soup which was delicious. The french onion soup had bread and a fresh piece of pretzel in it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband really enjoyed the Cream of Crab soup too. He also had a Irish Coffee that he said was really good to. I had the Pubs Pink Lemonade which was delicious Our waitress was really nice. I have been in the food service industry for 4 years as a server. So I know how it goes. I came here for a family dinner my mom and I both got the tomato bisque. She got a cup and I got the soup and salad in a bread bowl for 16$. We both took a bite and both said that is the most terrible soup we've ever had it was really sweet like they dumped sugar in it. We both politely told our waitress and she went to tell the manager. He came over and told us that the soup was made correctly and he basically said too bad we have to pay for it. I looked at him and said I have to pay 16$ dollars for half a side salad and he said yes and walked away. Never had such a bad experience at a restaurant in my life. Our waitress is either friends with the owner or sister but she was very excited about all the dishes that were being served that day . She sold me an awesome mixed drink and I don't even drink ! We were a table of 8 with the majority being kids ! They served us with the same respect if it was an all adult table. The place is historical and worth the visit just to see it . read more

The service staff were professional, accommodating, and so friendly. The French Onion soup I could eat over and over in a crock with hot delicious melted cheese and a soft pretzel. Came here for dinner last night. It was St. Patty's but the atmosphere was great -- very lively and customers and staff alike were in good spirits. The food was very good, and reasonably priced. Our server (Sarah) was great and on her recommendation ended up ordering the meatloaf just to try a bite and take home because we weren't that hungry. French Onion Soup - one of the better french onion soups I've had. Included a pretzel twist which I thought was a nice touch. I wouldn't have minded a bit more cheese but otherwise it was top notch. Spinach Salad with Salmon - Sarah recommended the sweet poppy seed dressing and she was right on the money. The salmon was beautifully cooked and well seasoned and the spinach and other salad components were very fresh. Meatloaf - the star of the show, in my opinion. Just look at the other reviews featuring meatloaf on this platform. The gravy and mashed potatoes were also great. The menu has a lot to offer and we may yet try a few more items before we leave town. Def recommend. read more

We waited 15 minutes after ordering to get 2 bottles of beer delivered to our table. Placed our order for food and after waiting 45 minutes cancelled our order. The waitress Sara was great and apologized and did not charge for the beers. She said that the owner Lisa sent most of the staff home. This was at 6 pm - dinner hour. This is an absolutely amazing restaurant and bar. I had the Buffalo Burger and it was fantastic (it had jalepeños and blue cheese), but ooof, my mouth was on fire! I love the fact that this bar has TouchTunes; I was able to play my favorite song, Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond (Live at the Greek Theater/2012). There was one staff member who stood out over all the others. Her name was Kylee, after I finished my dinner, she had finished her shift and we were sitting at the bar watching the 2024 MLB World Series and we discussed our interests and I showed her my YouTube channel which she found quite impressive when I showed her, and she also laughed uproariously at the video series on YouTube, the 11 for 8 bridge. And, much to my joy, the Dodgers won. I am not a Dodgers fan, but I can't stand the Yankees. read more

Stopped here on a Thursday evening between 5 and 6pm. Walked right in and got two seats at the bar. There were about a half a dozen people already sitting at tables/at the bar. (NOTE: we first tried to get a seat at the Blue & the Grey across the street but they were packed with a wait. This place is about 100 yards away across the street. Also, I will say the decor/atmosphere of the Pub far exceeds that of the Blue & the Grey.) We were promptly greeted by the bartender who took our drink order and gave us menus. Shortly after getting our drinks we placed our order. I ordered a the homemade meatball sandwich w/ fries and my wife had their bbq wings. (Picture attached of my sandwich; but after I ate half of it. Was too excited!) Food arrived about 20 or so minutes later, and we never waited for a drink. Our bartender was great! My sandwich was a flavor explosion, but my wife didn't enjoy her wings. She said they were dry and rubbery. I got the meatball sandwich based on the menu description- homemade stuff is hard to pass up. My wife and I each had 4 drinks plus our dinner, and our total was about $80. All-in-all, I'd recommend this place if you're in the heart of downtown Gettysburg. read more

Given a prime location in the town on the main square The Pub and Restaurant certainly deserves it's spot. I was there for lunch one weekday afternoon and although it was crowded they seemed to move quickly and there was a fairly good turnover without feeling rushed. The lunch fair runs about $10-$20 and while I often sit down and think 'what can I want' I was delighted to discover there were several sandwiches that all sounded quite good. I went with the Reuben, my favorite sandwich and had a surprise. I lived in NYC for many years and when I think 'Reuben' I'm thinking a substantial sandwich. This was very "flat," at least compared to what I was expecting. I picked it up and tasted it. It was warm, wonderful, a great mix of all the flavors I'd expect, just flatter than I'd get at any deli in NYC but certainly worth the cost and a satisfying lunch. When I go back, not if but when, it will be a challenge to guess what I can get. There were some downsides. The place is popular and it was a bit crowded. There was also a lack of servers. By that I mean there seemed to be only a couple to deal with a full house. That might allow for why some people have problems with service if they're over worked. The only other off note was my drink; a lemon drop martini with almost no lemon flavor and a lot of sugar around the rim. When I go back, I'll have something else to drink but as I said this is a case of I will go back. I'm out that way a few times a year and this is a wonderful spot in a town full of places to get food. Just bring your patience and do not get the lemon drop martini. read more

He enjoyed his meal as well. The portions are big enough to have leftovers for lunch or dinner. The service was great. The atmosphere is a mix of pub style to restaurant hence the name! It's in a great location in the town center of Gettysburg. Great place to go for a walk and window shop after a filling meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
