We actually weren't going to go here but we got a $20 off coupon from our Air BnB host so we checked it out and we are glad we did! We started with the 'Guinness Cheese Dip' which came with a lot of toast, AND a lot of cheese. It was perfect portion. The cheese dip was also very thick and creamy. My husband got the 'Irish Meatballs' which was beef meatballs with mashed potatoes, Guinness gravy, cheese and scallions. He enjoyed this dish and would get it again. I got the 'French Onion' soup in a bread bowl. When I think of this dish, I think of a Panera Size soup but nope.... this thing was MASSIVE. It was good enough for 2 people and it was only $11.99. It was delicious! I wish there was more soup but it got soaked up in the bread and cheese. Regardless, I would order this again for sure. The service was quick, friendly and informative. This place also looked great for Christmas... lots of beautiful decorations. I would recommend and would be back if I was in the area. read more

We enjoyed our meals at O'Rorke's and even went two days in a row because it was the most convenient place with a spacious dog-friendly patio. The service was efficient, though not particularly friendly. The food was consistent and nice! The steak salad was our favorite, but the appetizers, sandwiches, and burger were good too. The fried pickles were great! The crab dip was good too, but be warned it is HUGE. If you get it as an app, I'd recommend you have several people to share it with! We also enjoyed the meatloaf sandwich, which was also quite large, a wrap, and the bbq burger. The only downside was the side of coleslaw these came with. It was easily the worst coleslaw I've ever had with large tough chunks of cabbage and it was extremely sweet. All in all, it was a nice convenient place for our group and dog! read more

When we dropped in to O'Rorke's on a weeknight, the place was packed. This area is absolutely a tourist hub, and so we were surprised that they grabbed us and put us in a booth really fast. This is truly an old style Irish pub with all the wood siding and wood booths to boot and very loud. There is also an outdoor patio but it was pretty cool outside for that although there were some people braving the chill. Our server was quick, friendly and efficient. For food, we started with the Irish Flag salad which was a basic salad that we split between us. Then we had the Shepherds Pie which was just ok, and the fish and chips basket with fries. The fish and chips was well prepared with two good sized breaded fish, and the fries were extra crispy which is exactly how I like them... And don't forget the Oktoberfest beer on tab when it is available. Nice that they also have live music on some nights. The couple playing were pretty good. read more

Fast, friendly service. Place definitely reminds me of an old Irish pub. Several were sitting at the bar. I ordered beef stew over mashed potatoes. Large portion and I couldn't finish it all. The French Dip was on grilled bread & full of gristle. It didn't have a good flavor. The grilled Rueben had 1 thin layer of corned beef & barely enough thousand island dressing to even notice it was there. The service was good but would not recommend for the food. read more

O'Rorke's Family Eatery offers a decent spot for a casual meal in downtown Gettysburg, especially if you're looking to enjoy some time outdoors. The patio seating was the highlight of our visit--comfortable, with a nice view and relaxed atmosphere. I ordered the BLT on sourdough toast with house chips. It was fine--nothing particularly memorable, but it got the job done. My wife had a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries, which she thought was better than average, though not outstanding. I also tried an Old Fashioned made with Jameson. It was okay, fairly average in taste, but at least priced reasonably. Overall, O'Rorke's is a middle-of-the-road option. If you're strolling through town and want a moderate-priced meal with the bonus of outdoor seating, it's worth a stop--but don't expect to be wowed. read more

I was seduced by the Irish food, but had a hard time finding Irish grub. Not to say the food isn't good, it's just more pub than Irish. Pub atmosphere and I was hoping for live music, but we missed that. Maybe next time. They do have three staples, shepherds put, Ruben and Rachel sandwiches. I had some good food, don't get me wrong. Slow service during a quiet period. Expensive for quality of food. I got the beef stew and it didn't taste any better than a canned stew. Although portion sizes are better than the other Irish-themed restaurant in Gettysburg (Garryowen's), the quality is poorer for about the same price. read more

So I guess it's the crazy Irish Part of us that made us drive to Gettysburg to celebrate St.Patty's Day @ O'Rorke's! Decided to try the Corned Beef & Cabbage which was a special. The other Leprechaun ordered the Meatloaf again! There's a couple of Irish Musicians playing and the bar is full. There is outside seating but we wanted inside so we are up stairs away from the noise and crowds (great in the busy seasons) outside seating on nice days also available. Gettysburg isn't exactly a food Mecca so a 4* place is about as good as it gets! O'Rorke's is a neat place in town and has good food. Me and my friends have frequented this place during visits to the battleground and we've got no reason to look anywhere else in town! read more

We ironically were there on Mother's Day and they had a special menu that I could not refuse. They were packed for an early dinner but we got in quickly enough. The place itself is very historical and very interesting to look around. The meal was hot and delicious and the service was fast. considering how busy, everything was great. We would certainly recommend this as a Must Stop for a delicious meal or just to stop in for a pint. read more

This Irish pub was a nice stop before our late night ghost tour. The appetizer was so large and filling. That the Entree came home for lunch. There was an Artist there who sang songs at an amazing degree. The bathrooms are hard to lock and designed for Single person yet a larger one would be appropriate for this busy venue. Ambient light really set the atmosphere. They even offer a second floor for larger groups. There is outside seating for environmental relaxation. Worth a stop in for time absorbing. read more

I was looking for dinner, preferaby grilled chicken, so stopped in to O'Rorke's. It was 4pm and I was seated immediately near the bar. The booths were very wide and could seat many people. The waitress arrived very quickly and took my order. The truffle parmesan chips arrived first - HOLY cow the order size was HUGE! Bring an appetite! They were delicious!! I recently went to O'Rorke's for lunch. I ordered a salad with 8oz steak. This is a 19.99 salad. The portion sizes are average, but more importantly the salad was not fresh. The steak was cooked as requested, but it was most likely not 8 oz. I would give a 2.5 if that was an option. Prices are high food quailty is not at the expectation. read more

My husband and I ate here after touring the battlefield all day. We were very hungry, and this place was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying at right next-door. I ordered the meatloaf loaf Sandwich, and my husband ordered the shepherds pie. We both thought it was delicious and the service was good too. That is until I got to my last few bites of the meatloaf sandwich. I took a bite and it was very hard and crunchy, so I spit it out. When I saw it was burned so badly it looked and tasted like black charcoal. I told the waitress. She said sorry and left immediately without another word. When she came back to bring us the bill, she said she told management about it. Management did absolutely nothing as far as we know. Nobody ever came out and talked to us about the very burnt meatloaf which was very disappointing. Other than that we thought the food was good and we enjoyed it. read more

This is my favorite place to eat in Gettysburg, and absolutely one of my all time favorites.. I used to live in Gettysburg, and I would go here often. They have great food and drink specials throughout the week. It's also always a fun place to hang out during the big events that Gettysburg has through the year. However, during big event weekends, the place does get full, and you might have a brief wait. No biggie! That's everywhere in town. I haven't lived in the area for nearly nine years. That doesn't matter. Staff on duty remembered me, and treated me like I had never left. I felt like the regular I used to be. That's a strong testament to the staff, and it's even stronger for ownership and management. A lot of places have fast turnover of staff. Not this place! The food is outstanding! The portions are large. The prices are very reasonable. Similar establishments charge more for less. The beer is cold. The place is immaculately clean. What more can I say? Stop here, and you'll love it! Pass it by, and you'll regret it! You won't find a better place in Gettysburg. read more

Amazing welcome from a young lady. Waitress Katie (Katy), also GM, was quick to our table to order drinks, gave us recommendations and returned a couple times because we could not make a decision on what to order from the eclectic food menu. It all sounded fabulous! We went with the pretzels, topped with crab dip and grilled cheese, which was phenomenal and plenty full, we could not eat it all. My husband chose the homemade tuna sandwich on rye with extra thick homemade chips which she enjoyed very much. I ordered the steak wrap with the beer cheese and it was phenomenal. French fries were good, but not too many of them, just right as Goldilocks would say. I had a cranberry Moscow mule which was bigger than I thought it would be and my husband had a couple Yingling. Food and drink were all phenomenal and Made our bellies. Very happy. What was our bill? What did it come to for the starter of crab pretzels, three drinks and two meals came to $65. Well, worth it with the atmosphere of a pub with familiar faces to each other having good chats. Highly recommended to stop in and have an eat or even just a drink at the bar. Stopped in here after our first choice had too long of a wait. We were in a little bit of a hurry but even with a group of 6 we got in and out in a little under an hour without feeling like we were rushing to eat. The food came out reasonably quickly after we ordered (but not so quickly that it had to have been made in advance), and our waitress was super friendly and did a great job of making sure we got in and out. I had the salmon entrée with coleslaw and corn fritters sides. The salmon was cooked well and the seasoning was very tasty. Coleslaw was very basic (just green cabbage and dressing) but it was good. The fritters were probably also pretty standard but I don't think I've actually had corn fritters before so it was new to me, and I really liked them. Nice and fluffy inside. If I return to Gettysburg, I'd want to try again to go to one of the classic American taverns, but this is definitely a safe choice. The food was good and the hospitality of our waitress plus the nice sunny patio made it a great time even though it wasn't what we'd originally planned. read more

We had a quick lunch here while coming for a day at the battlefield. The waitress opened the door for us as she was coming in and seated us immediately in a very Irish pub atmosphere. She also took our drink order almost immediately. When she returned very shortly thereafter she took our food order. I got the cheeseburger salad and he got the O'rourke original. Both very unique. We both enjoyed our meals. Service was great, food was good atmosphere was nice. The wine I got was not the greatest so that's the main reason for the 4 star rating. read more

The lobby had a strange smell so I sat outside. Nice people on the patio and great weather. Stayed after dinner and chatted with some locals. Waitress was slow for drink order. Ordered a Coke and the Mushroom Swiss Burger and added Bacon and Fries. The plastic Swiss Cheese was barely melted and the mushrooms were under the burger. Different! upon entering gave a waitress $200 for a pre check before sitting down with my family so my son wouldn't pay. She never told the other waitress anything who was our serving waitress. so when the check came she said" when your ready" I told her I allready gave the other waitress money allready.... NO communication between the two waitresses. I was embarrassed!!! unprofessional stupid waitresses. and we waited 10 min. before anybody came to our table. asked 3 times for napkin/ fork setups. My sons prime rib was raw in spots. my onion soup wasn't good. I ordered bottle beer... no glass for it?? This is a restaurant not a corner gin mill. Stopped in on Friday night for something light. Unlike most other restaurants in Gettysburg on a summer weekend, we didn't have to wait for a table. Sat inside near the bar. Service was speedy and personable. And the food...yum. My husband ordered the French onion soup; I ordered the Reuben. My husband said the broth for the soup was delicious. Not your normal bullion flavored broth. This was simmered goodness. The cheese across the top of the crock was bubbly and plentiful. My Reuben was tasty. Opted for sourdough bread since I'm not fond of rye. It came with a side of homemade chips and corn nuggets. The corned beef in the sandwich was shaved so thin. It was buttery. Some of the best corned beef I've ever had. The sandwich was stuffed; no skimping on the meat or sauerkraut. We will definitely return with bigger appetites to try more on the menu. read more

We ate here for dinner on the 3rd of July. While we found the setting and atmosphere of the restaurant wonderful and historic, it's right off of the historic Baltimore Street, right in the heart of old Gettysburg and they accommodated pets (we had our dog with us and they gave us a nice iced cold bowl of water and a "dog menu") our food came out a little cold. We enjoyed the outdoor seating, and really like the Guinness Cheese Dip. Very Dog friendly, we will go back and try it again on a less busy day! read more

Really enjoyed this Irish pub as we were passing through Gettysburg, PA. Typical pub, wirh pub style food. We ordered the loaded Buffalo fries as an appetizer. It was so good that we ate the whole thing! The fries are shaped like discs and the appetizer we order had pulled pork and melted cheese. Only giving it an 8 for this dish bc the bbq sauce tasted store bought but it was still good nonetheless. 8/10. I ordered the Chesapeake chicken sandwich. Grilled chicken with their hot crab dip and lettuce and tomato. Really good! 9/10 on that one. My partner ordered the prime rib and it was HUUUGE! He really enjoyed it. 8/10. love this place! as a local i frequent with friends and family. parking situation could be better- but you always have across the street. crab dip is always lovely. the only thing i hate is the instant mashed potatoes they serve! so lazy and disappointing! would love real mashed potatoes. the fry's are worth the extra money. i wish more care was put into the house salad, the blend of lettuce is bitter and the vegetables are sliced very thick (cucumber, tomatoes) however, these things are very minor (expect the mashed potatoes cause wth) regardless, i highly recommend this place and the fish and chips. seriously the best thing on the menu is the fish and chips. it never misses. the tarter sauce is phenomenal! read more

Ventured into town today and our favorite spot was closed for New Years... so we figured we'd give this place a try. We walked in the place was pretty busy and only had one server. We were a bit hesitant but I'm so glad we tried it! The atmosphere was nice and cozy, the service was phenomenal! Food and drink was quick to come out, and tasty! I got a margarita which was perfectly mixed, and the specialty burger. I have to say, I don't remember when I've had such a perfect burger!
