Pork belly - a delicious and sweet dish. Pork belly gently cooked to a crisp covered in sweet apple slices, cinnamon and fresh honey comb...absolutely fantastic! Meatballs (3 small fist sized meatballs) - perfectly cooked, moist, with hints of garlic, basil, sweet & spicy chili sauce... Sesame seared tuna - still waiting for it to be cooked... I've wanted to try this place for about 2 yrs...I finally got to give it a go. I first noticed the inside was very narrow. A bit dim, and smelled like mop water and cigarettes. It made me uncomfortable so we ate outside . The waitress was friendly enough but not earn a tip friendly for sure . There was karaoke going on somewhere nearby but I never actually saw wear but it made for good environment (listening to people butcher songs) I ordered a grapefruit mixed drink and was surprised it was served in a cheap plastic cup and no glass of water to go with the alcohol. It tastes horrible and the lime on the side was browning and not fresh so I tossed that part. My spouse's drink was something creamed with nutmeg in a cute mug was was disgusting as well...like eggnog with pineapple etc. I ordered some tacos..lobster and pork belly. This is my first time having brunch. I sat at the bar and also ordered a spicy bloody Mary with my food. The Bloody Mary was okay, and bland with no additional goodies like traditional bloody Mary's. The breakfast was really good and I could not eat it all. Came out warm and fresh. The service was so so with the bartender leaving the bar area for at least five minutes. Loved that Venture has different menu items and offerings. This was our first visit. We came in on Martini Monday. I ordered the martini of the week which was incredible! Vodka, Baileys... I can't remember what else was in it, but it had a very full flavor and would also have made a great dessert drink. We ordered the Crab Rangoon Dip gluten-free option which came out hot with tortilla chips. We were pleasantly surprised by the slightly sweet chili flavor in it... really delicious! I ordered the Green Goddess Pizza and the gluten-free crust was one of the best I've ever tasted. Message to the owner and manager: Why your restaurant/bar is nearly empty at 8:30pm on a Saturday night. You have the right menu. Reason given "the celery spoils before we use it " two suggestions remove this from the menu or just a thought, blister the celery as needed from fresh! Its a simple task. Second: the beautifully prepared ahi ? You should be charged criminally for preparing this in advance then putting it in a chiller to be served days after preparation! Its ahi! It takes 3 minutes to sear from fresh! It took three people tasting it to clear the small portion because we just could not believe that you pre-prepared it and chilled it. Disgusting! But your staff confirmed thats exactly what your practice is! Unbelievable! The tacos? Cold pulled pork? Disgusting! The full sized fried chicken breast in a tortilla? Ridiculous! They went mostly entirely uneaten, because it was mostly inedible! This time, I knew exactly what I wanted. Their tater tots served with spicy mayo sauce is probably one of their famous weapons of mass satisfaction in here. But can we stop for a second and talk about the pizza!? Seriously, it's epic. My first visit ended with me eating slices of my friends leftovers, which ultimately ended in good envy. So I knew what was going down this time. We shared a starter of Cuban Nachos which weren't bad. Fresh fried pork rinds, lathered in cheese, beans, a creme fraiche dressing, pulled pork and micro cilantro. Surprisingly good! Then for mains, three pizzas. One meat-za, one BBQ chicken (with no red onions) and one Hampton Hawaiian. Katelyn brought over our food which we didn't have to wait long for. The three of us tucked in... complete silence... that good! I opted for the H.H pizza to try something different - I'm weird, I'll eat pineapple on my pizza happily. This pizza came complete with Edwards Virginia country ham and lump crab. I love crab anything, but I'm not sure if it all went well together but was too hungry to make a proper decision. When I arrived, my friend already ordered the tater tots and spicy mayo for us to share. The tots were homemade (you don't see that every day) and paired perfectly with the spicy mayo; they were so good he ended up getting a second order for the table. This place offers and array of salads, sandwiches, and pizza for lunch; however, looking at the special board I saw a pizza named "Yasss" and I just had to have it. The pizza had a base of bbq sauce, chorizo, spinach, roasted red pepper, onion, jalapeño, and was topped with fresh mozzarella. It was absolutely delicious. Venture really gets it it's like they made this pizza just for me. As for dessert the black currant brioche bread pudding with cinnamon gelato was definitely in the top 3 bread puddings that I've had. Kudos to the chef back in the kitchen because they really know how to put together a solid meal. My lunch really made me want to see what else they have to offer. read more

Starting out, we took a look at the drink menu. Great beer selection which I'm always happy to see! But as I had just run a local half marathon a few hours prior, I really was craving chocolate milk oddly enough. The waitress whipped some up with chocolate syrup, which made me happy. Their menu was split primarily into pizzas and tapas. As we wanted to try multiple things, we opted to go the tapas route. We ordered the curried short rib lettuce cups, elote hush puppies, and the tempura shrimp. The shrimp were delicious; they had just the right amount of crunch. And it was downhill from there. The lettuce cups just didn't deliver; they were pretty boring taste-wise and weren't as exciting as they sounded on the menu. The hush puppies came out undercooked--they were still really wet in the middle. We pointed this out to our server and the kitchen sent out a few new ones. Even when we tried the new ones, they were thankfully cooked through, but again, didn't deliver on flavor. Our server was very friendly and helpful when we had questions. Even though we weren't impressed food-wise, we had no complaints on the service. Overall--this experience was a 2.5 stars rounded down. I have been here more times than I can remember. It's one of the few places on this side of the water that always has consistently good quality food with a trendy, yet relaxing atmosphere. It's my go to for a casual night out with friends and my boyfriend's and I go to date night spot on a week night. We've been here so much, the waitress on Tuesday's knows us and knows how we like to split the check too. It has plenty of street parking as well as little parking lots everywhere. I've never had a problem finding parking! It's in downtown Hampton, on the cutest street with a couple of other good restaurants. The trees are wrapped with white lights all along the street, making it super romantic and a fantastic place to hang out at. Get the tots. I'm sure every other review here tells you that, and not all of us can be wrong. The tots are in square form and perfectly fried. The tots don't have a thick breading or anything. It's so good. The spicy sriracha mayo dipping sauce is SO good. Seriously, it's so addicting, you won't be able to stop eating it. The pork belly is also a staple for us. It usually comes with a couple of thin slices of apple and honey comb. The salty and sweet flavors complement each other very well. We also get the meatballs and the prosciutto & mushroom pizza. The meatballs have a sweet chili thai sauce on them, and it's SO good. I literally drag the meatballs and sometimes the tots through it to make sure I get it all. The prosciutto & mushroom pizza is fantastic. Those mushrooms are still slightly juicy and just make the pizza. All the pizzas are pretty decent and tasty. They have specials every day they post online after a certain time. They post the dinner specials after 5 pm online. They always have a scallops entree special we'll get. And it is always incredible. The scallops are cooked perfectly each time, and whatever else comes with is has amazing flavor and just makes you want to eat all of it, no matter how full you are. Sometimes, we wish there was just more of whatever the scallops are on top of, it's that good. They have good cocktails, cheap too. I love their sandwiches, but they only serve them during lunch hours. The meatball banh-mi is my go to there. And they come with a side of tots too! Brunch is always good, $2 mimosas, what could be better? Service is a little spotty sometimes. They have their good waitresses and their less friendly waitresses. The hostess can be kind of flighty and weird sometimes. They're surprisingly really bad at estimating how long it'll take to get a table and unfriendly. A friend and I decided to check this spot out on a Thursday night. Most of the parking is parallel parking downtown. I was worried it would be crowded but we were immediately seated indoors (outdoor seating is available as well). The menu offered Tapas, Pizza and their weekly specials. I decided with the Bang bang shrimp tacos. The shrimp was cooked in Tempura batter which tasted so delicious! I'm sad this isn't on the menu all the time. The street in front was closed to traffic with tons of outdoor seating and a live band playing in the street. The bar inside is great with tons of room and the staff were some of the best people I have met in a long time. They were knowlegable about the food/drink selections and made perfect recommendations just based on our conversation. They carry several hard to find wines that scored high 90's with my palette! Tuesdays are wine special night so come early as this place is popular! There are several places to choose from on this cozy street for great dining but you have to stop in to see for yourself! Very friendly and helpful waitress who was quite knowledgeable about the selections on offer. I had a spicy avocado mango black bean taco--excellent kick without lingering burn--and a Norwegian cod with Baja sauce taco. The latter was batter fried with a nice savory sauce and Cole slaw. The slaw was not overly sauced so it supported the delicious fish more like shredded lettuce and carrots. Both were served in a zigzag taco holder. The first taco had such a variety of small ingredients that it was quite messy to eat, both were fabulous tasting. I'll be back to this keeper of a restaurant! read more

A gem tucked away on Queens Way in Hampton. My sister and I had just gotten off the Megabus from DC, and were eager to find a place to sit, relax, and more importantly, cool off on a hot Friday afternoon. We ordered the tater tots, bbq chicken pizza, pork belly tapas, with a side of bread. All were surprisingly delicious! I say "surprisingly" because we had never been to Hampton before, and didn't know what to expect. But, Venture is a definite hit in our book. The tater tots are house made, and not shaped like traditional tops. They're shaped into squares and have a slight crunch. Although I wish they were more crunchy, they were fresh and came with a tasty sauce. The pizza was also the perfect size for sharing. They don't skimp on the chicken or bbq sauce, so the pie is full of flavor. When we came in, it was almost tapas hour, so we decided to try the pork belly since we were there. It was flavorful, tender, and paired well with the side of bread we ordered. Great bites all around. The only thing I'd skip on is the Arnold Palmer - just get water instead. I had heard really great things about this restaurant before visiting. While I can't say anything about the food I was very disappointed with the service. I visited during COVID and was disappointed that multiple staff were wearing their masks incorrectly or just not at all. Not to mention some of the people who were wearing their masks below their noses were also making the food. The server was also not very pleasant and was upset when we were displeased with a drink that was flat. Overall I think their pizzas are very tasty but I hope they are now taking better COVID measures. read more

Cute little place nestled in beautiful downtown Hampton, VA. What a gorgeous downtown. This is a fairly small pub venue and quite welcoming. They have a fairly large bar right as you enter that seats about 12 or 15 people. Tables line the wall behind/in-front of the bar. The whole place is a narrow space and I just think it is adorable. One of the best things about this place that I notice right away, the price of cocktails... most of them were only $6. Makes for a great HH venue after work. I tried the Tuna Tartar Tacos and the Tots. The tartar was good and so were the tots. I had the Basil Gimlet and the gentleman pouring the drinks could obviously make a good drink. I love venture! They've been a savior for finding a place to eat with a large group of friends during these times (7 adults with 2 children) and their food is amazing! We went here for dinner a few weeks ago and had such a great time. We enjoyed trying different drinks from their menu and ordered tapas. I got the orange blossom as my drink which I would get again and the top hits for tapas were the tots and pork belly. We were going to try another place in Hampton for brunch but they had a 2.5 hour wait so we called venture and they were able to accommodate us!
