I initially began a somatic herbalism program with Jessy to address some chronic digestive health issues I have been struggling with for almost two years. I have tried everything from functional medicine treatment to acupuncture and traditional therapy. While all of these things helped temporarily, I have never been able to find something that allowed me to find sustainable healing. As a result, I turned to this somatic practice in order to explore any underlying emotional or trauma issues that may be causing an imbalance in my body and preventing me from truly healing. I have worked with Jessy numerous times, and every session we have together is extremely supportive and enlightening; this was no exception. Through guided meditation, we uncovered emotional trauma that I thought had been resolved and brought it to the surface so that it could be released. After the session, we also started to incorporate flower essences into my daily routine to further support me on my healing journey. This is an ongoing healing journey for me, but even after one session, I felt physically and emotionally lighter, and was able to tap into my body's wisdom for self-healing; my physical symptoms also lessened. It is so difficult to explain exactly how this program works, because it is different for everyone. Jessy is incredibly intuitive and has such a gift for tapping into what each individual needs to support them on their own journey. I am one of her biggest fans and highly recommend working with her if you are looking to delve deeper into your own intuitive wisdom to heal yourself. read more

I moved to Ventura about a year ago and had been looking for a yoga studio. I tried pretty much all of the ones around town but when I started at Ventura Pop Up I knew I found my "yoga home". Their new studio space may not have all the "bells and whistles" but there really something special about it. There is a community vibe here that I didn't feel as much elsewhere. The owners always greet me with a smile, you can tell that they are really pouring their hearts + souls into the place. They offer donation classes which is kind of amazing. I was also really excited to see that they now offer some additional class times as part of their membership (which is really reasonably priced). I've really enjoyed the 8:30 AM classes with Michelle and the 4:00PM classes as well. read more

VPUY offers AMAZING classes. Currently they have seven classes a week - all donation based. All levels are welcome. Personally, I absolutely love doing yoga outside. I thought it might be distracting to do yoga in a park, but it's the best! The fresh air, the cool breezes, sunshine and gorgeous views... They also have classes at local businesses and special events. This is truly a labor of love and its all about creating community and making yoga available to anyone who wants to practice. At first I was nervous to try a class, but they are full so welcoming and inclusive. I had no excuse! And I quickly got hooked. Now I go to a pop-up class every chance I get. I've been a firefighter for over 30 years and have built up a number of injuries. I find it too painful to run or work out anymore. Discovering the benefits of yoga has been a wonderful way to help me rehab from a lifetime of abuse to my body. Ventura Pop Up is simply the best.
