This is the real deal--no bells and whistles, just legit yoga with knowledgeable instructors, inventive sequencing, and lots of supportive adjustments. They have a wide range of classes and two different yoga rooms. I'm from Los Angeles and it reminds me of a more intimate Yogaworks. They have mats and blankets and blocks, etc. and they don't charge you for them. Water and tea, too and even parking right out front. They offer a very reasonable special for the first month and you can come as often as you like. read more

I am forever grateful I discovered Yoga Jones since recently moving to Ventura. The instructors are so kind and welcoming and remembered my name after only 1-2 sessions. The class sizes are perfectly intimate compared to surrounding studios where the mats are practically overlapping. This studio caters towards all skill levels and offers variations for more advanced Yogis. Teachers notice my progress and are so encouraging throughout each class. Hula hoop fitness, Slow Flow, Taoist Yoga and Vinyasa fit are some of my favorites but all classes and instructors are wonderful! Come check them out! read more

I've only been here once, so I hesitated giving it 5 stars. I took the free Intro class that's offered the last Sunday of the month, and I loved it! Vishnupren (sp?) is an awesome instructor; he explains everything in great detail and is very patient. There were only 5 of us in the class, so we got lots of individual attention too. I'll definitely go back. The studio is close to two of my favorite downtown spots: farmer's market and Juice on Chestnut! Stopped by this place while visiting Ventura for a work visit. I admit I entered the space just moments before the Taoist yoga began so I may have missed the explanation but that was just weird ass yoga. No mats, teachers spinning around the center of the room while we imitated animals. After practicing yoga for years now I recognized the animal yoga and associated sounds with actual yoga posses but modified to fit with this instructors Taoist influenced class. Go if you really want to experience a different type of class but it wasn't for me. I assume they have other wonderful classes and teachers. Place doesn't accept credit cards without a $4 charge and the front desk staff was very unwelcoming to someone new. read more

Many of the yoga studios I have attended have been athletically oriented causing the roots of the practice to be watered down, in a sense. Yoga Jones offers a more traditional approach that adheres to ancient traditions, techniques and knowledge. The energy that surrounds the sacred space is phenomenal. You don't need to go to a big LA center to experience authentic kundalini yoga; it's right here at YogaJones. Stopped in for a class when I was driving through Ventura and wanted to get my kundalini bliss on. Sopurkh Kaur led a beautiful meditative class with the traditional mantras and 3HO kriya sequences, ending with a delicious gong bath. If you don't know what a gong bath is I strongly suggest you show up and experience it for yourself, it's a form of sound healing and feels just great! I was welcomed warmly and left feeling spiritually, psychologically and physically renewed. When I'm in Ventura again I'll look for this class. read more

Love the Yoga Jones studio space. It has good vibes and friendly people. I also love the gentle flow yoga class with Camila. So grateful for yoga jones and the variety of classes offered. I was recommended to take Pixie's yoga class from numerous people, I know why now... AWESOME! She is a great teacher that knows how to connect with the class, assist you with advancing and maintains a great vibe... I love the music she's plays in class.. Her Monday morning slow flow class is a great way to start the week by being fully present and I love her Wednesday night class at Yoga Jones, you will walk out feeling sweaty and strong.... I highly recommend taking her classes at least once a week. If you need to build confidence with public classes just take a private session with her. Shantis class rocks too! you will let go of your thoughts and dive into a whole different experience. Take Tina's class too!!!!! Namaste! read more

I took my first class Wednesday at 4;30 Pixie was the instuctor. This place has a wonderful feel to it. Pixie is calm and very helpful in proper positioning I felt so good after I left and the feel good stayed with me. The rooms are small as others mentioned arrive a little early to get a space. I personally will be taking more classes here.Can't really say much about the other classes offered since this was my first time. They offer different packages which is nice or you can drop in for 15.00 a class. read more

I am so blessed to have found this wonderful yoga studio when I first moved to Ventura! It has become an important part of my life through the physical, mental and spiritual practices they offer. The studio itself is warm, clean and welcoming and they offer (free of charge) anything you might need for your practice (mats, blocks, blankets, straps...) or, of course you can bring your own. They offer a wide variety of classes, levels and teachers. Great for beginners to advanced students. In addition to the wide variety of classes they have many workshops and events throughout the year typically aligning with the seasons. I have had the opportunity and great fortune to practice with most of the teachers at the studio, all of them offering something different to add to my practice and life. Talking to the teachers and front office staff is easy and not intimidating (I have found some of the smaller yoga studios to be extremely intimidating...not here though) Since practicing at Yoga Jones I have found a "style" that really resonates with me - The Prana Flow classes taught by Pixie. I am forever grateful for her offerings and highly suggest checking out her class or any other classes from any of the teachers. My one suggestion to anyone who is newer to yoga - try a few different styles and teachers - see what sticks with you! Nirvana? Ventura? Anavrin? Arutnev? Yoga? Tina the Yoga Jones organizing guru is fabulous- the classes are interesting, challenging and sensitive; each teacher seems amazing at what they do. There are also always workshops and various classes that are interesting. Vishnuperem is definitely an incarnate of something divine and wonderful and Tina is an avatar of good tidings. Great facility, you feel good to walk in and you feel better walking out- relaxed, fit, centered, stretched- ready for what's next- Aside from a few smokey sage purifying moments (as if yoga jones needs purifying), the studio is perfect, and by far, the best place to do yoga. read more

This studio is amazing! As soon as you walk in, you feel a sense of serenity and peace overcome you. The art on the walls is absolutely beautiful and the lobby is filled with sweet, locally made crafts. I am completely new to yoga and was welcomed here with open arms! Yoga Jones is THE place to go--esp. at 10AM on Friday! With Tina teaching, yoga is fun, easy to follow, beneficial, and a great way to start the day and end the week! The 90 minutes flies by! One of the best features of TIna's class is that we laugh a lot. She is warm and friendly-- without being too talkative--and always explains what each body part needs to be doing or not doing, so my mind is engaged as well as my body! I'm never bored, either. Her studio provides all the props--as well as mats--that anyone needs, and she always advises how to increase or decrease difficulty of poses, which I really appreciate as an aging triathlete! A special bonus is that she remembers the needs of her regulars, whether they are mental (to gong ot not gong) or physical, so class is safe for all ages and fitness levels. One of the best features of Yoga Jones is the yoga community that Tina created--we all feel valued by each other, as well as by Tina and her very competent staff. I LOVE this studio. Every time I enter, I am welcomed with open arms and smiling faces. The studio is clean and peaceful. There are two empty rooms for yoga practice and mats, blankets, straps, and blocks are free to use throughout the class. Instructors are kind and friendly and encourage you to listen to your body. They walk around the room and adjust your body in certain poses to allow you to go deeper into your pose. I, for one, am grateful for this extra support and attention to detail. Each class is slightly different in poses so it's not the same routine each time and I always leave feeling rejuvenated and revitalized. read more

I've been going to Yoga Jones for 3 years. There is a wide variety of classes taught by excellent teachers. My favorite is Tina's vinyasa flow. She changes each class so it's not the same poses week after week. All the teachers provide individual attention to your practice.
