Absolutely the worst nail salon I've ever been to and the worst manicure. So many things to comment on, I'll just make a list. Polish looks like it's been on the shelf for years. Whole place is visibly dirty. Technicians jump around from client to client some working on 3 people at a time (meaning you are there 3 times as long as you should be). Man using the buffing tool was pushing so hard on it to file off the old polish, my nail bed was burning from the friction. He continued to do it even after I complained. Older woman who did the polish got polish all over my cuticles and along the side of my nail - I could have done it better myself. By the end of the day, my polish was all bubbled up (regular polish) - I think it's probably because it was so old. Finally, the price...I had a dip powder manicure soaked off and then a regular manicure. I knew I would have to pay to soak off the old polish, but silly me didn't ask first. They charged $20 just to remove the old polish - I've never paid more than $10 anywhere. I'm sure there is more, but you probably get the point by now...spend your time and money elsewhere! read more

Had an appointment and after waiting 20 minutes was set up in a chair for my manicure. Lady walked in back and heard her talking in the phone for 10 minutes, did not come back so walked out. Place was dirty and turned to see a sign that they only took cash and Delaware checks. Do not waste your time here. -5 Stars read more

I've been going to Venus for years, but after my experience last week, I will not be returning. Venus has never been the cleanest place - I know plenty of friends who won't get their nails done there because of the condition of the salon. However, I continued to go there because the prices were fair and the nail techs always did a decent job on my nails. I don't think anyone goes there for the atmosphere. I was so excited to go back to Venus after the stay-at-home order was lifted because I hadn't had a mani/pedi in months. I called to make an apt on a Wednesday, and they couldn't take me until the following Monday. Fair and understood due to COVID precautions. I figured that since I had to wait to so long, I would be one of a few customers in the salon. When I arrived to my 2:00 appointment, I was surprised to find that I was 1 of 8 customers in the salon (which eventually was 11 as they allowed walk-ins). I was seated in the pedicure chair immediately but was not even looked at until 2:45, when one of the nail techs began working on a woman who had just walked in. Finally, she realized I was there first, (for an apt that was scheduled to begin 45 mins prior,) and began working on me. At that time, the water was freezing cold, and the worst pedicure I've ever had began. The nail tech never once touched the bottom of my feet at all - she barely even gave me a pedicure at all, just quickly put on polish with hardly any effort. It looks HORRIBLE! I went home and changed the polish myself, sick over the $40 I spent on the pedicure. My full set is okay, but that was an additional hour and a half to do because all the nail techs bounce around and begin one person then start working on another. The prices also increased drastically. The salon looks better than before, as it was remodeled, but I'm assuming they needed help paying for the remodel because they bumped up prices for a dip manicure by $25! $55 for a dip manicure which takes over an hour to complete and is done with hardly any effort. All the other prices increased too. I wish they would've warned me of the price changes when I called to make my apt - or I would've paid the same price at a spa with a nice atmosphere and an attentive nail tech! Finally - this place is cash only, so the nail techs literally charge you a different amount every time you go, because they don't have to report anything as they would if they accepted credit cards. Overall, I am so disappointed by this salon! I suggest a spa where you will pay the exact same prices and actually have a pleasant, relaxing experience, rather than the chaotic experience at Venus. read more

Do not use this salon - The owner of the Fenwick Island, Delaware branch (who was extremely rude) did my daughter's nails for her Prom night. She rushed through what typically takes 30-45 minutes and did it in 15 minutes, and it showed! Only applied one coat of color instead of two, leaving them spotty and transparent in many areas. outlines were blurred and not straight. When we requested our money back, she refused and said the nails were done perfect, even as we showed her, in person, all of the flaws. This place was terrible! The young owner was very rude. I believe it was her parents maybe that destroyed my nails. After leaving me sit in the chair for maybe 20 to 30 minutes in very cold the lady finally showed up, cut my nails way to short and crooked. Then the elderly man takes over and does a terrible job of polishing my toes sooo obviously I didn't get the Mani or eyebrows waxed. And honestly I might not even posted this review had the manager/owner to offer any type of discount or even an apology but instead she chose to be petty and throw a snide remark as I left the store. read more

Don't even bother making an appointment. They take first come, first served. The tech (owner) jumped around from person to person the entire time. Last time I made an appointment, showed up and the person who was supposed to do my nails left before I got there. No apology, couldn't care less. Had to leave. I will never go there again. Never recommend this place. Charged $105 for services that were subpar. Very crowded even though I had an appointment. Left there with glue and polish all over my nails when I asked for them to remove it she handed me a cotton ball. Seriously I'm paying you for service and I'm supposed to clean up my nails myself. I like this place I have been coming here off & on for awhile now idk why the reviews are so bad! I get it the fumes are not great! But it is a really good nail salon, the quality is there. So you are getting what you pay for, I get that the owner hops around from chair to chair but it's her business & she cares about her customers. Which is why most of you go back. I really like kaley she's great to socialize with, puts you as a priority & does great nails! Oh & don't forget to tip it's messed up you come in here want high demand service, but don't tip. My sisters and I came here while vacationing hoping for a relaxing pedicure. I enjoy spending a little extra for a quality pedicure but this place was awful and I decided not to splurge on a high end treatment. My technician was so lazy and did a terrible job. The row of technicians kept laughing and making jokes with one another & it was distracting and unprofessional. My nails look terrible and my feet are rough. The polish is old and looks like a 5 year old painted my nails. I will be getting a quality pedicure when I return home & do not recommend this salon. read more

This is by far the worst nail salon I've ever been too. My nails are horrible even after they "fixed" them twice and my toe is now infected FROM THEM AS WELL AS MY FRIENDS WHO CAME WITH ME. By far the worst nail salon I've ever been to. It's incredibly dirty with everything from very dirty tools to visible filth all over the floors and chairs. The owner is very noisy and was condescending to my Grandmother. All of this aside my pedicure was awful. Polish was messed up, nails weren't even filed straight and top coat was all over my skin. My husband could have done a better job. They don't honor reservation times and the polish selections look like they have been there for ten plus years. This salon is very clean, the staff are both nice and professional and they are very reasonably priced. The salon is nice and clean, and Nicole and her staff are very friendly and accommodating. Nicole is also an artist and can do any design you want. Took an hour plus of waiting for 1person to get worked on after getting up to leave because everyone else in party was done and the manager had the nerve to ask customer to pay 15 dollars for sitting in the chair. I don't think I will be going back. The owner is incredibly talented but she knows it. I don't think she ever says thank you. She is so busy that she moves from one person to the next the entire day. She has no regard for people's time; it's just about how much money she is pulling in for herself. Yes she works very hard. It is expensive. $65 to $75 for a pedicure and gel manicure with one design. I get the impression she expects to be tipped as well. But I don't want to make a career out of a manicure/pedicure. Takes at least 2 to 2.5 hours because of the way she moves from person to person. That is not my style. I want one dedicated person for my hour appointment and I'm done. And especially if I'm at the beach, I do not want to spend that much of my day in a salon. It is not that clean. It looks absolutely nothing like the pics online. read more

This place is filthy. Un-hygenic, nasty and visibly dirty. Old, dried half bottles of nail polish on display. My pedicure was HORRIBLE--not even within the lines. The owner is rude and nasty. Oh, and they only take cash, which I only realized after I tried to pay with a credit card (owner dismissively directed me to an ATM several doors down). When I walked in the door I was greeted immediately and within a few minutes I was receiving my spa pedicure which was nice. After the pedicure was finished I sat waiting 45 minutes for a simple design to be placed on the big toes. Venus nails was 100% terrible. When my friend and I first got there, she went to go use the restroom and there was not only dog poop on the floor in the hallway leading to the bathroom, but also in front of the toilet!!!it was them that we should have left...After she told the owner and it was cleaned up we say down for our pedicures. The water was cold and it took at least 10 minutes to get anyone to come over and adjust the temperature. Eventually the lady assigned to my chair came over and started giving me the pedicure. She took my previous nail polish off, gave my feet a light scrub and started painting my toe nails with my new color. When I asked her to please cut down and shape my nails she gave incredible attitude asking ME to let her know of I wanted them cut down BEFORE she started paintings nails. She then asked which nails specifically I wanted cut down.. Shocked I pointed to a few of my nails that I wanted cut down, she then said to me "I didn't want to cut them down too short". She proceeded to huff quite loud and roll her eyes towards me. When she finished painting, she told me they needed my chair and she asked me to move to a new seat, offering no assistance by lifting the armrest. When I decided I was going to tell the owner about my uncomfortable experience she looked at me and said rushed, "Sorry, I'll talk to her..." And walked away.
