I love Tammy Nails. This is a family owned business, with amazing and hardworking employees- like my nail tech Lillli. I have been going to Tammy's for eight years and enjoy the conversation and services offered here. They do great work and always make sure that I feel welcomed. If you want to make sure you can get service- call for an appointment. Although Tammy does accept walk-ins, they can get very busy. If I could give zero stars I would. DO NOT GO HERE even if like me, it was the only place that had an appointment available. I called and booked an appointment for a gel pedicure and manicure. I asked the man who answered the phone how long it would take for both since I had an appointment in 3 hours at my house. He told me 1 1/2 to 2 hours. No problem. After 2 1/2 hours of complete torture...Only the pedicure was completed. During the entire 2 1/2 hours, the owner's son, a 5 year old boy, was riding his scooter up and down the middle if the shop. Both parents work there. They told him to stop. He ignored them. He proceeded to climb all over any open pedicure chair, knocking into customers, turning the massage chair off and on... A pedicure is supposed to be a quiet, relaxing experience. This was the worst, most unprofessional experience I've had getting nail services. The owner is very rude. She does not create a pleasant environment. The place is also filthy and run down. Again...DO NOT GO HERE! Also, I left before getting my gel manicure. I just couldn't take it. I ended up finishing my gel manicure at Pearl Nails who are 1 minute away and that place is wonderful! 5 stars! read more

Friendly staff, but one day post manicure my nails chipped significantly so it was a waste of money. The technician removed my prior gel manicure with a dremel, but according to one of the other technicians, should have been removed with acetone. Hopefully my nails are not damaged. I started going to this nail salon when Tammy opened it. The nail service is up and down depending on the tech but that's not why I stopped coming here. The issues are their kids running around riding a scooter interfering with customers creates an unprofessional and even dangerous situation and it definitely NOT relaxing. During COVID, some of the techs ignored customers' request such as a request to wear a mask during COVID. The way they've responded to customer's issues here on Yelp makes me glad that I chose to take my business elsewhere. read more

Definitely request her to be your mail tech, she is lovely, sweet, and does a wonderful job. T. Herbal pedicure is really nice. Cons: - Tammy (the owner) does not consistently wear her mask. He has loud conversations with Tammy and the guests that makes it hard to relax - The kids are running around the nail salon without masks - Social distancing is not practiced EDIT: I'd like to edit my review to acknowledge some of the points in the comment from the business owner. - The salon definitely has dividers up, and they did clean between customers. You also had to sign in with a phone number for contract tracing. These measures are great for tracking spread and for mitigating droplets. However, since COVID is airborne the inconsistency of masks is very concerning - and folks should understand the risk they're running. - Although it's not a day spa, but a nail salon, customers should know that this is not a place to relax. It seems like it's great for a quickie mani or pedi, and the quality of the work is good, BUT, if you're someone who uses the time spent getting your nails done to unwind and relax this isn't the place for you. While on vacation I broke my thumb acrylic nail after being told from other shops that since I wasn't their client, they would not fix my nail. I called Tammy's nails and they were nice enough to fit me in and fix my broken nail. Tammy had a clean salon and friendly staff. Went a few months ago because they were close to my house and could get me in fast... persuaded me to try the SNS which was alright. I looked at my nails and they were going upward, I mentioned it to the girl doing them and she said it was my nails (never happened before/after anywhere else). And she charged me extra for the length? The ends were slanted and just a mess.... I feel like she was rushing because it was 5ish on a Sunday afternoon, my nails reflected that. My husband and I booked rainy day pedicures this afternoon. What a treat! The vibe was awesome, as was the family-centric feel. The attention to cleanliness was apparent and appreciated as well. I would leave less than one star if it were an option. We were in town this past weekend for my best friends wedding and visiting this salon was certainly the worst part of the trip. The staff at this salon do not care about customer service and they also do not care about being decent human beings. The morning started with them accusing us of having the wrong appointment time (we called twice to confirm our time slot) and then they continued to berate the bridal party for asking for gel manicures instead of regular manicures because they didn't have time to do gel. Mixups happen and I understand that can cause a lot of stress and frustration to an understaffed nail salon. That said, there is no reason to be rude especially to someone on their wedding weekend. The bride was literally sobbing into her hands while she was getting her pedicure done by the nail tech who was yelling at her to be patient and stop getting upset. We left after her pedicure and went to another salon who was willing to treat my friend the way she deserved to be treated on her wedding weekend. Kindness and understanding goes a long way in my book and this salon will never understand how to provide that to their clients. For a lot of people, getting your nails done is a routine activity, but for a bride on her wedding day it's one of the things that make her feel special and beautiful. Went here for the first time and LOVED it!! Had to bring my 6 year old son with me. For most moms that normally a sign of trouble and you know you're gonna spend most of your time telling your son to either calm down or chill out we will leave soon. That wasn't the case here. While I was getting a mani/pedi, my son was playing guitar and being entertained himself. Not only did they do an amazing job on me, but they made my experience relaxing and my sons memorable. Because of Yelp, I found Tammy's Nails and have been so darn pleased. Tammy -- and her husband -- are very "hands-on" and make sure the place runs smoothly at all times...which means customers are happy. I'm there roughly once per month for both manicure and pedicure. I've had various technicians, and all of them have been great. Tammy always comes over to check that I am happy. I went here a while ago and wanted to leave a nice review after a poor experience at another salon. I called to make an appointment and had no trouble getting the time I wanted. I got my nailed done by Tammy. Staff was not rude but also did not try to engage in conversation with me, which I didn't really mind. Cost was 40$ (I tipped 10$ for 50$ total). 35$ for gel plus 5$ for "design". 4 stars not 5 because half of my nails lifted when they grew out (after like two weeks, so not terrible). read more

First time I've ever been to this place. When I went two weeks ago it wasn't too crowded at 3:30pm on a Wednesday during Covid-19! I've gotten a dip manicure too many times to count from so many different places, cities, etc. I had Wendy and she was so sweet! She did a great job! I hate sitting at a salon for too long and she did my dip manicure in 30 mins!! It's been 2 weeks and it still looks GREAT! They have a ton of regulars which is very reassuring. I had been there twice. I had a great experience both times. First time, Sonja was great. Second time? The owner, Tammy took over because Sonja had another appt. i was on time, but i didn't argue. She did a great job. Loved my nails both times. Sonja left. But, I set an appointment to go back for a fill and a pedi this morning. This time, once again, I arrived, right on time. I was happy and friendly. Tammy found that my acrylic nails were lifting, and she recommended dipped nails. That was fine, she had said that last time, and I just wasn't ready for the switch. This time? I let her decide. She's the pro, right? She yanked the old ones off, which hurt. But, I understood that she was irritated because I didn't make the switch last time. Meantime, she was really short and crabby with her pedicure gal, because she couldn't find a matching toe nail color. Turned out? There wasn't one. But, too late, she had already treated this girl like she was stupid. She told me the girl was stupid. (I told her she might be color blind). She used the most degrading tone of voice I have heard in quite some time when she spoke to this poor girl. I've worked with the Marine Corps, so that is really saying something. On a human level? Completely unacceptable. She did my dip powder nails. They were just ok. I then did the pedi with the girl she had been mean to. She did a fine job, and was very sweet. I was set at the drying table. I was picking at the sides of my finger nails, as there was nail dip on the cuticles. Tammy came over and loudly asked me what was wrong with me. She was mad that i was picking at them. I quietly said, "they are just a little sloppy, I'm cleaning off the edges." She raised her voice, and started yelling at me. I covered my right ear, and asked her not to yell. The ladies near me looked at me gaping. She spoke louder. Then she skirted away, and demanded I pay for my nails, leave, and never come back because, she said, she knows who I am. Knows who I am? Interesting. I've been there twice, and both times were awesome. Help me out here, Tammy. I don't even know who I am. Lol. Hmmmm.... so I paid her sixty six dollars for a new set of dip nails, a pedi and to get yelled at. She continued to yell at me and demand her money, saying, while i shook and struggled to get my money out. YELLED at me. At her own front desk. Yes, by then, i was annoyed, and shoved the money at her. That really pissed her off, she yelled at me for that too. I asked her why the F she was so crabby, what had i done. She told me i was stupid, not to cuss at her, that she had told me what was wrong with my nails, i just didn't listen. Listen to what? Last time when I came to my scheduled appointment, on time to see Sonja, go pushed to her and didn't have time to change to the dip she thinks is better? I tipped the sweet little pedicure girl. And, walked out. I am completely befuddled and shocked. I have no idea what I did to tick her off. But, apparently, she hates me. I've met her twice, and she was super nice, then this crazy mean interaction. The other people in the salon noticed. The customers looked on wide eyed. I don't get it. Maybe I never will. Thanks for the terrible, mean, nasty interaction, Tammy. Maybe you thought i was someone else. I'm sorry you had a bad day. You ruined my day. Thanks. My update: you guys usually respond in 15 minutes. You even responded to Danielle J. You should really reply, and understand that treating people the way I was treated today? It's caustic. Maybe Tammy has a health issue. Then? She needs help. It was TRULY AWFUL. RAISED VOICE. NASTY TONE. Just unbelievable. I was a good, friendly, returning client. Ok, I got a nasty note through Yelp, calling me a "lier". It's spelled liar. And, so you know, Ma'am, When i was there, asking if you were ok, and why you were so crabby? Your response, "No, you a crappy person!" Ok, those are 2 different words. Concern about what is wrong with someone and asking why they are crabby is very different that calling them a crappy person. Very skilled and friendly technicians! I spent a wonderful weekend at the beach and realized my nails were in great need for a fill. It had been a month and I had a busy upcoming week. So, I searched recommendations for a salon. The reviews for Tammy's were a bit mixed, but overall positive. I called to schedule an appointment and they could take me within the hour for a fill and pedicure. Susan, young but very competent, meticulously completed my pedicure. She was super friendly, confident and very professional! Her mother, Wendy started my fill but since she had a returning customer, the owner of the shop, Tammy finished my fill and color. Tammy wanted to make sure I knew about all available options and recommended I try the dip color. I told her I'd stick with what I was used to, but I'd consider it another time. Tammy did a great job shaping, filling, filing, and painting my nails. She definitely made sure I was pleased with the service. I was living in Ocean View for four months and needed a go-to nail salon. The reviews for Tammy Nails were mostly good so I made an appointment. The first nail technician was just "ok." I went to her twice and my shellac/gel manicure wasn't good. The polish was thick and uneven. However, all was right with the world once I got an appointment with Amber. She is outstanding; a true professional. Detail-oriented and got my nail length right every time (you'd be surprised how hard it is to get "sport short" just right!). She's also pleasant and cheerful - a little side bonus! The shop is bright and clean, and the technicians all seem to genuinely like each other & get along. The prices are reasonable ($28 for a shellac manicure; $25 for a standard pedicure). The owner (Tammy) can be a little outspoken, be forewarned! read more
