From the outside I didn't know this was Friducha. It only says it on the window if you look closely, and I didn't see the sign anywhere else. Once walking inside it wasn't crowded. I'm not sure if you need reservations, but there's plenty of walk-in seating. This place isn't fancy and very casual. They have a lot of murals or paintings of Frida Kahlo on the walls in different outfits. I couldn't decide what to eat as everything sounded so good on the menu. It was all very affordable too. For the table, we got the grilled corn on the cob, the guacamole mocajete (which they make in front of you), mar y tierra platter (shrimp & skirt steak combo with beans and rice), and churros with vanilla ice cream. I really enjoyed the platter and the guacamole with medium spice was just right. It was very filling.

Skirt steak fajitas and supreme nachos with corn

We arrived at a pretty slow hour and were seated instantly. They had great music playing and it was really clean. We got a plate to share and an appetizer. The fajitas came in sizzling! I have gotten fajitas at other places and I was let down because they don't have the sizzling plate. I know it doesn't add anything but it was the experience. The plate was well served and it came with four tortillas perfect for my sister and I to share. The nachos were delicious. The corn was charred so it added that extra flavor. We did have to ask for salsa to add to our tacos but overall our experience was GREAT! Our waiter and server were really nice too. I'll definitely come back.

Delicious food. Big sizes and good quality of meat and very tasty hot sauce. Excellent and friendly bartending service from Quique.

Stopped by for a quick bite before my visit to Transmitter Park. I was in the mood for a spicy brunch to get the Sunday vibe kicking. I searched Yelp to locate a Mexican restaurant that was close to the park and as fast as you can snap castanets and say Frida Kahlo three times, Friducha popped up. Friducha really pays homage to Frida by way of interesting murals painted on the walls and there is a picture of her from the Philadelphia Art Museum. Thus, at first glance, I think authenticity. I was in the mood for Brunch, which is served until 2pm. I reviewed the Specials which included numerous egg options but decided on the Chicken Tinga Tacos and chips and salsa to start. Then a Horchata, which I find very refreshing, to soothe the spicy palate. The chips and salsa came out rather quickly.. which I spotted the waiter taking them out from a cooler. I don't know about your chips and salsa preference but I like my chips a bit caliente not cold. So, that was a bit disappointing because it leads me to believe the chips are store bought? Hmmm.. the salsa was just okay, a bit watery. I prefer Salsa that is chunky and has a kick to it. The tacos and Horchata arrived immediately after. The Horchata was sweet and refreshing with a bit of cinnamon that enhanced the flavor. The Chicken Tinga Taco plate consisted of three delicious chicken tacos adorned with well seasoned chicken, cilantro and a really vibrant chipotle sauce and.... a side of peppers and onions that require a fire extinguisher. Well is this Frida Kahlo worthy authentic Mexican cuisine? It's a 50-50 verdict.. The service is friendly and accommodating, the menu is extensive, location is convenient to Metro and park and the ambience is low energy which explains the three stars (sorry, the chips and salsa put a damper on it) I'm on the fence if there will be a return visit. Yo siento Ferida. Transportation: take Court Square G train to Greenpoint stop and use India Street exit, 2 minute walk.

For a sit down Mexican restaurant it's not bad. Free chips and salsa and a full bar. No lunch specials but the burritos are big and smothered. I love the red sauce on the shrimp burrito (el picoso), I get it every time I'm in the neighborhood. I think they opened just before the covid lockdown so I think the neighborhood should give them a shot for a bit cause there's been some notoriously terrible sit down Mexican spots at this price point. Frida decor everywhere, I'm down. It's bright, corner location, so ambience wise during a gorgeous day it's not a bad way to have a drink and some free chips and salsa (so far in my experience I've always gotten these replenished for free).

What a gem of a spot we stumbled upon on a Friday nite. The place is small but spacious as there are a few tables , a bar, and a common table in the middle to sit at. The staff is friendly and the service was impressive. The menu is on a qrcode and they have a great selection of food, from appetizers to nachos, burritos and tacos. We opted for the nachos with shredded chicken which were super flavorful and the Al Pastor Tacos which came with a generous amount of meat perfectly cooked and flavorful. Let me just say these tacos are amazing!!! and a must try . All in all our experience here was perfect , and we can't wait to come back and try more of the items on the menu!

These carnitas tacos were everything I wanted them to be!! Factor in the cuteness of the restaurant, and if anyone asks me my favorite taco place in northern Brooklyn, the answer's easy. Definitely will be trying to take everyone I know here! It is usually difficult to find tacos that compare to those with which I was accustomed when I lived in California, but Friducha's are top tier.

Cinco de Mayo was lit here. They had lots of decor around and hanging up!! Even gave their patrons sombreros. Super cute. The margaritas were delish! And the food was good!! Service was okay. Not my first time here. Would come back again!! Great little spot!!

Do Not Use Their Online Ordering System. The restaurant has their own online ordering system, but doesn't actually use it. So, if you're dumb enough to order through there, like we have twice (over the span of 6 months), you won't get food unless you call to tell them to check their own system. The food finally arrived 1h50 after ordering (and calling) - it's so much worse than it was years ago for both my wife and my order. She usually gets a poached egg over her meal for eggy sauce goodness - it came scrambled. My burrito, the chicken was overdone and sauce bland. Between dining in and delivery it's been 25+ times - no more. This was so terrible and sad that I came out of my yelp retirement to review. Sorry, but basic customer service and actually using your own systems that you promote on your social platforms . . . It's just not now you run a business.

A solid Friday date night option! Indoor and outdoor dining available. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination required for indoor. Waiter checked our Excelsior passes prior to seating. QR code taped to the corners of the dining tables for mobile view of their food and drinks menu. Take out available as well. Right off the rip, staff was POLITE and ATTENTIVE! As soon as you walk in, very nice ambience. Off to the right is a small bar which looked to be fully stocked for the weekend; accompanied by a few stools. We got there just before the dinner rush. For starters, me and my partner got fresh chips and salsa. We ordered "Greenpoint fries" with grilled chicken. Warm deliciousness! Generous cheese, not too greasy. Grilled chicken was almost minced, and not diced like we thought it would be. They kind of held back on the pico. I asked our waiter for an extra side of onions and cilantro (personal choice) Barbacoa tacos were very juicy and packed with flavor. The side of green sauce is a good amount of heat to get a sweat going. (Luckily it was too hot for my partner, so more for me, hehehe) Same for the carnitas tacos we ordered. Not dry at all. All tacos served in double shells in case the fillings fall off in the first round you can make more! Lastly, for dessert we shared one order of Mexican churros. Fair warning, it is REALLY sugar coated. Looked delicious on the menu - looked consistent with the picture when served to our table! Stacked like jenga and drizzled with caramel. These 4 pieces were just the right amount of crunch and a oozy center. Don't burn your tongue Would definitely come back to try other things on the menu

Came in here on a slow Friday night and sat at the bar and I had a blast, the bartender was super sweet, her drinks were deliciously made. The guac and chips are super tasty, as well as the steak and shrimp. The desserts were good, I loved the vibe. I was here sitting at the bar probably for hours just drinking and talking to the bartender and it wasn't super overpriced. Loved it.

Admittedly I've found the music both times to be too experimental for me. Confessing that makes me feel like an old person shaking my fist or at least shaking my head, misunderstanding what makes the youth tick. But I had no trouble twirling around the dance floor to this weird experimental music after throwing back a few tequila sodas upstairs. A few times while here my friends have split up into the group that wants to go downstairs to dance and the group that wants to stay upstairs and chill. It's relatively easy to navigate between both vibes, which I enjoy about this spot very much.

When we saw "Water Tower" on the elevator we decided to press it. SO GLAD WE DID. We landed at the Water Tower and walked into a fairly empty space decorated with art all the way to the ceiling, filled with natural light coming in and the views of the skyline were out of this world. We had to try their drinks of course to enjoy with the incredible view. Though the drinks are $21 and served in a plastic cup that evening, I was NOT expecting my drink to be this insanely delicious. I ordered the inferno Paloma which they infuse themselves with- and it was true perfection. By the way, each bar has their own menu which is pretty awesome and makes it even more fun. Also, Axel is the most incredible bartender and we absolutely loved his creations. Later that night we ordered a custom mandarin margarita, with a spicy twist, and WOW. We had this place all to ourselves and can't wait to be back. Friday nights they have DJ nights and you can also book the Water Tower for your own private events which is pretty cool!

After spending $76 a person, we were still hungry, whereas that amount would have been enough to feed two average women at another good restaurant. But if you go with an expense account or trust fund baby, definitely get the scallops and the yellowtail pastrami because those two items will blow your mind.
