I mostly order to go and that's where my complaint is at. The last few to go orders seem to either be the wrong order or missing part of the order. This has happened at least 3 times. This has directed me to another local spot for Mexican food where the food is okay but the service is more consistent.

When we arrived we were sat immediately and were probably the 5th table in the good sized restaurant. Our waiter arrived and took our drink orders quickly. It took a few more minutes before he came back to take our food order. While the menu is pretty large it is not huge. That's good IMO because they understand what each dish takes better. My Michelada was excellent! I don't mean because of the showy shrimp and cucumber with Chamoy and Tajin. I mean it was one of the best ones I've ever tasted and I've had a lot. Our food came out and was really good. I got Chipotle Chicken which came on a sizzling platter with a chipotle cheese sauce, onions and peppers, and rice on the side with tortillas. Lip smacking'! I asked for some home made hot sauce as well. It was pretty good but due to the amount of tomatillos in it I found it a tad bit too tangy. The others in my party were apparently happy with their meals because all of their food was gone. If driving through Elizabethtown or vacationing at White Lake and have a taste for Mexican, stop by El Patron and leave full and happy.

They have a large parking lot with numbered spots, so you don't forget where you parked. The decor is casual and unassuming. It is a large place, though. It can seat 220 guests and has both booths and tables. I dined here for brunch, but you order from the all-day menu. I read to go early to avoid a wait. Service was friendly, but the goal seemed to be to turn the tables quickly, so many customers left with to-go boxes. Well, I was on the road, so I couldn't go, so they had to wait for me to finish. I ordered the flounder with a baked potato, and it came with hush puppies. The food was really good, and I would have ordered dessert too, but I wasn't asked or even finished with my meal when the bill was dropped off. I liked my food, and the prices were reasonable. I don't like feeling rushed, though and like to enjoy my meal. Payment is taken at the front register. I paid cash because I wasn't sure whether they took credit cards, since that register was closed. By the time I got through the line and got change for the tip, people were already seated at my table. So I had to find my waitress to leave my tip. I might return again when it is less busy.

We got the Napkins burger with the brussel sprouts being the star. The brussels come with pineapple thai chili sauce, but we liked the brussels without it and opted to use the delicious sauce as a dip for our french fries. The burger was tasty, but nothing out of this world. It was cooked perfectly and I liked the Napkins famous sauce on it. The only thing was that the burger kept slipping out of the bun and it was very messy to eat as we kept putting the burger back together. The shawarma with chicken thigh was delicious. I would pair this with the brussels next time and you'd have a winning combination. The fries were good too, but the brussels are the winning side choice. Glad we stopped by on our road trip for a satisfying and filling lunch. It's worth the stop and everything tastes fresh and is well worth the price.
