We live in the Morningstar community and really like the neighborhood, but our experience with…read moreRiverside Home Builders has been disappointing. After repeated requests, Riverside declined to properly repair multiple construction defects in our home. This includes a ~12-foot span of loose tile across two first-floor hallways. Riverside proposed a lower-cost repair that does not meet industry standards, and a slab crack aligned with the loose tile is visible when adjacent carpet is removed. Additional unresolved issues include: Drainage defects causing standing water after rainfall and routine sprinkler use Water-damaged sheetrock following a roof leak that was repaired, but never fully remediated or repainted A crack in the tile at the corner of the master shower, raising concerns about moisture intrusion These issues were reported over an extended period without adequate resolution, which ultimately required us to file a Residential Construction Liability Act (RCLA) notice on October 22, 2025. We are sharing our experience so other prospective buyers can make informed decisions.

This confirms serious construction deficiencies. The builder has been made aware but is refusing to correct the problem.

This company was a wolf in sheep's clothing for me. Get a contract with these people if you do…read moredecide to use them. They did not come to verify that the doors they were selling me would fit my space. Every single other company wanted this inspection BEFORE any money was paid. Should have been a red flag but they were so nice, I trusted that they knew what they were doing. The doors were sold to me supposedly "at cost", through a friend, but that ended up actually meaning "retail cost". Not their cost. Joke was on me I guess. Everything did seem ok UNTIL the day of delivery came somewhere around 3 months later. The first thing their contractor, Richard, did was light a cigarette and walk into my garage attached to my home. Then, he realized THEIR (they are the supposed experts) mistake, and stated that I would need to spend "approximately" $100 more for a low clearance track. I agreed, and he left. Later in the day, I received a text (unprofessional considering the issue), from Karla, stating that they were actually going to need $650 more to take out the old doors and make the new ones fit. Out of the kindness of their heart they said Richard would knock off $250 because it was "unexpected" cost. Which what they truthfully should have said was due to their incompetency in planning my job. They wanted to pass that cost to me AT TIME OF DELIVERY. Supposed to be said and done that day. I asked them to take off the cost of the installation, which they determined to be only $450, and drop the doors off. All they would do was apologize that it happened, but by no means is that taking financial responsibility for what was definitely their mistake. Ended up costing me many more months, and hundreds more dollars to finally get them installed by someone who was actually competent in garage door installation. Take my advice and save yourself the headache on a let down like this. Take your money somewhere else! Buyer beware.

We were looking for a way to build a unique home, different than the more common styles built across north Texas today. We loved the Mid-Century Style of architecture but we also wanted to keep a rural Texas feel since we are living out in the country. Jonathan Bethune did an excellent job capturing the look and feel of the house as well as creating an incredible floor plan that makes excellent use of space. The building process proceeded timely and it was clear from the beginning that the quality of work was very important to the team. We experienced an excellent job of keeping the work going even during very wet days and weeks. The end product is a very well constructed home that we feel is efficient and beautiful. Jennifer Bethune really helped bring the interior style of the house. She was very available to choose wood, paint, countertops, tile and many of the other surface areas that really added to the beauty of the home. The overall experience has been incredibly engaging and exciting. Having such a unique home is very special to us and this design build team was a great choice for us.

After talking to many friends, they all related similar horror stories about building a new home. Everyone told how stressful the process was to their marriages and all had horror stories about builders and architects. After exhausting all other avenues my husband and I, reluctantly decided to meet with Jonathan Bethune. To say we were skeptical would have been an understatement. During our initial meeting my husband immediately gave Jonathan Bethune our business. We both found Jonathan to be professional and he understood our vision and designed it even better than we had envisioned. The whole process was further streamlined and enjoyable when Jennifer entered into the picture. She made ever design decision easy by helping me narrowing my choices all while staying on budget (which endeared her to my husband). Keeping on a budget and knowing each week where we stood also helped reduce stress. If any questions did arise Jonathon and Jennifer were always available for questions and backed up with a professional staff. My husband and I loved this entire process and love waking up each day in our beautiful new dream home. After seeing Jonathan's work, I knew he was an artist and I am now living in art. Anna Coker
