Joining Life Time has been one of the best decisions our family has made…read more Like many busy professionals, I had built a great home gym over the years. What I didn't realize I was missing was the energy that comes from being surrounded by people pursuing health, wellness, growth, and recovery. What sets Life Time apart is that it isn't just a gym. It's an ecosystem built around helping people become the healthiest version of themselves. One day I may run laps on the indoor track. Another day I may focus on strength training, core work, boxing, stretching, or recovery. There are machines and training areas for every fitness level and every goal imaginable. Treadmills, weights, functional fitness spaces, recovery tools, massage chairs, stretching equipment, steam rooms, hot tubs, infrared saunas, traditional saunas, cold recovery spaces, and more. And yes, there are televisions everywhere filled with sports. Lots and lots of sports. The atmosphere is contagious. You are surrounded by people investing in themselves, challenging themselves, and pursuing healthier lives. One of the lessons I recently wrote about in my article Dynamic Stretch + Recovery is that growth doesn't happen during the workout alone. Growth happens in the recovery. Muscles strengthen when they are challenged and then given time to rebuild. The same is true in life. The best leaders understand this. The healthiest people understand this. Strong performance requires intentional recovery. Life Time has reminded me of that truth. For me, the traditional sauna has become a favorite place to reflect, pray, recover, and simply be still. It is often in those quiet moments that I find clarity, gratitude, and perspective. What has surprised me most is how much our entire family loves it. My daughter is having a blast with the pools, water slides, and activities. The outdoor beach club atmosphere, music, and weekend events make it feel more like a resort than a gym. My husband has found a place to exercise, stay active, and invest in his health as well. We joined thinking we were purchasing a fitness membership. What we found was community, family experiences, wellness, recovery, inspiration, and joy. In a world that constantly tells us to do more, Life Time reminds us that our health, our families, and our well-being are worth investing in too. Grateful we made the decision.

First time here and I LOVED it. Very clean interior, smells lovely even with all the sweaty people…read morearound, and all of the machines worked and were easy to use! I will definitely be back!

I've been playing in adult rec sports leagues for about 15 years now. I've never had an experience…read moreas bad as the one I had with JAM sports this year. Sharing this in detail in case it helps others that are considering joining one of their leagues. My team registered for a JAM softball league in March, paying a little over $1,100 for the season. We played only three regular season games -- another three were cancelled and never rescheduled. The refund we received for those missed games was $180, which just doesn't add up considering what we paid. When we did play, the on-field organization was weak. There were no league reps at any of our regular season games, the rules of the league were often not clear to the umpires, there were fewer umpires at each game than were needed, and our first playoff game also did not have an umpire at all. I would maybe say that this is adult rec sports and a few of these issues can be expected in one form or another, but my biggest pain point has been with the customer service in trying to understand schedules, cancellations, game rules, and in general what we could expect from a JAM sports league. I'm still looking for answers here. I've been in conversation through email with the org for six months since our season ended. The reps I've spoken with have all been polite and responsive, but they've said repeatedly that they don't have the authority to make decisions without approval from management. Pursuant to that I've had three phone calls scheduled with their customer experience manager -- on July 3rd, August 5th, and September 3rd -- but none of those calls ever actually happened. I've received neither a missed call nor a voicemail from their experience manager since I first gave them my contact info, only apologies for the missed conversations through email. As I've told them in our emails, it feels like JAM leadership is trying to shield itself from its customers. I don't see why a legitimate business would need to do that. After about 4 years with their predecessor, my team has left JAM sports. We've signed up with a park league that offers more than twice the games for half the price. I've heard that others have had better experiences with JAM, but I can't justify registering with them again given their poor value and customer service. If your season goes south like ours did, you might find that there's no real recourse.

Since you are required to give at least one star that is what I will do. Ever since JAM Sports took…read moreover these leagues have been an absolute disaster. There is zero communication with the teams on schedule updates or rain outs. After 4 years of playing softball in the rec leagues for Atlanta Sports and Social I will not be signing up to play for JAM Sports again. Thank you for ruining a perfectly fine product JAM Sports.

Serious Safety & Liability Concerns - This Gym Puts Members at Risk…read more This gym is playing fast and loose with member safety, and it needs to be called out. The sauna has a clearly posted warning sign stating a maximum safe temperature of 185°F. Despite this, staff and management insist on running it at 200°F, knowingly exceeding their own posted safety limits. That alone is reckless and a massive liability issue. What made this worse: I entered the sauna first at a safe temperature. Another gym member then came in and turned the temperature up to 197°F, completely ignoring the warning sign. When I pointed out the posted safety limit, this individual became aggressive, threatened me, harassed me, and disturbed my peace while I was simply trying to protect my health. No member should feel unsafe--physically or verbally--while using a wellness facility. Management's response? Dismissive and unconcerned. Instead of addressing: * the unsafe temperature settings * the violation of posted safety guidelines * the harassment and threatening behavior by another member ...the manager failed to take the situation seriously at all. This gym is exposing itself to serious liability by: * Ignoring its own safety warnings * Allowing saunas to operate at dangerous temperatures * Failing to intervene when a member is threatened Saunas are supposed to support health--not endanger it. Until management starts prioritizing member safety, accountability, and basic respect, I strongly do not recommend this gym. Consider this a warning.

Our company held its 30th anniversary party at the Atlanta Country Club in East Cobb. Despite…read moreAtlanta in the name, the club is technically in Marietta, just north of the Chattahoochee River. In this regard, it's sort of like Atlanta Athletic Club which is in Johns Creek/Duluth. We used to have our annual holiday party here, but switched up the venues over the last 10+ years, so it's been a while since I've been back. It's pretty much just as I remember it. Interesting facts for golf fans: Atlanta Country Club hosted the inaugural Tournament Players Championship, now known as The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. Jack Nicklaus won the first tournament in 1974. There's a commemorative plaque in the clubhouse signed by Nicklaus. From 1967 to 1996, the club hosted an annual PGA Tour event previously known as the Atlanta Classic (1967-1981), the Georgia-Pacific Atlanta Golf Classic (1982-1988), the BellSouth Atlanta Golf Classic (1989-1991), and the BellSouth Classic (1992-1996). The tournament eventually moved to TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth where it last became known as the AT&T Classic. Sadly, the AT&T Classic ended in 2008. It's okay though because at least Atlanta still has The Tour Championship at East Lake. After 1996, the only clubs in metro Atlanta to host a PGA Tour event are the aforementioned TPC Sugarloaf and East Lake Golf Club as well as Atlanta Athletic Club which hosted the 93rd PGA Championship in 2011. I've noticed of these clubs, which are all private, Atlanta Country Club is the only one that isn't gated. Note: Atlanta Country Club didn't host the Atlanta Classic in 1974 because of The Players Championship and in 1976 because the US Open was at Atlanta Athletic Club. Davis Love III's father, Davis Love, Jr, was the first golf pro at Atlanta Country Club. Love III played junior golf here. Like Nicklaus, there's a commemorative plaque for Love III inside the clubhouse. Larry Nelson, who won 10 PGA Tour events including 3 majors, is a member. There's a room with Larry Nelson memorabilia. It includes letters he's written to the club, a putter, and the red sweater he wore when competing in the 1987 Ryder Cup at Muirfield Village in Ohio. Nelson has won twice at Atlanta Country Club (1980, 1988) and won the 1981 PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club. Our party consisted of a cocktail hour and seated dinner for about 120 guests. The cocktail hour took place outside of the ballroom and consisted of an open bar and servers walking around with hors d'oeuvres. Hors d'oeuvres included Asian spring rolls, Beef Wellington, and bacon-wrapped scallops. Our seated dinner consisted of a bread course; Boston Bibb lettuce salad with slices of orange and blood orange, goat cheese, pecans, red onion, and a vinaigrette; filet mignon and Chilean salmon with creamy mashed potatoes, tomato confit, and green beans; and cake and petit fours from Gabriel's in Marietta. Red and white wine were served with dinner and there was coffee to go along with dessert. It was a fancy dinner with beautiful table settings, floral arrangements, and live music. The ballroom was brighter than I remembered it. The setup was traditional - classy and elegant, almost like a wedding reception. Our party planning committee brought in the Atlanta Jazz Trio to play music during dinner. They did a nice job. I enjoyed all of the food, from the hors d'oeuvres to dessert. My favorite of the finger foods was the bacon-wrapped scallops. They were delicious. The Bibb salad was great. Fresh and crisp. The filet mignon was cooked to about medium rare, which is the doneness I prefer. The salmon was a little dry, but overall the entree was fine. The assorted petit fours included chocolate, white chocolate, and sweet and nutty treats. The cake was decorated with our company logo. I liked that the coffee fixing station had whipped cream. Service was good. At dinner, ladies were served first, then men. All in all, it was a return to a classic venue and I had a good time.
