After the incident that I had five years ago here with a tablet and a cord that had a short in it (as it turned out that I found out later on), I decided that I was going to give this place another chance to do right by me and to see if they were going to give me good service today. My late mother used to have her cell phone service through Verizon and sometimes the guys that were working at the store we're good to her, although if you have them, couldn't understand what my mom was talking about -- particularly when she was confused about my Google account accidentally getting mixed in with her stuff on her phone back in the day. When I arrived, the guys working in the store greeted me, but were busy with other customers. I was mainly interested in just looking around and seeing if they even had an android phone case that would fit my new android phone. One of the guys was semi-snotty to me and in a tone of voice, that sounded very contemptuous to me, asked me if I needed help right away, to which I told him that I was mainly just looking right then, which I was looking at a charger for my phone. After poking around, I found something similar to what I wanted, but I could not find the price on it. I felt that I had seen and heard everything that I needed to see and hear in here, so I left. I think that I'll continue to go up the street to the T-Mobile store, where I get a lot better and more friendly service. read more

I've always been apprehensive of going to an authorized dealer instead of a cooperate store. I'm not sure if it would have made a difference in this circumstance but what should have been an easy transaction turned into a very long and painful experience here. When I purchased a new phone online I decided to have it shipped to the nearest store rather than miss the UPS driver who would need my signature. I received an email that my phone had been shipped and a few days later, another when my phone was ready to be picked up. I went to the store, told them what I was there for, they went in the back and found my phone and started the checkout process. Only to find that my order had somehow been canceled. No big deal we'll just do an upgrade in store. Except the phone shipped was somehow activated and now connected to my account, yet without any plan or agreement attached to it. Okay we'll return it and activate a different one. That didn't work either. It's the watch, we'll have to temporarily turn it off until we can get the phone added. Really? To make a long story short, I was in the store for over three hours, this is not an exaggeration. And although the person trying to help me was pleasant, he seemed to not have any idea of what he was doing. Of course my first bill is a complete mess. Very doubtful I'll return. read more

Purchased two phones here (mine and my husband's) on 3 different occasions and had good service experiences every time. It's a well staffed location and so far haven't has to wait for service. It's a more personalized experience than most cell phone places because the staff will sit down with you at a desk and bring you phones that match what you tell them you're looking for. On the first couple visits especially, I felt like the salespeople went above and beyond to meet our needs. The first girl was able to swing a deal for a free basic phone on a second line, which I don't think we technically qualified for. On my next visit, the guy who helped me was having trouble transferring the pictures from my old phone to my new one and after 2 of his co-workers also tried and failed (something about formatting of the memory card), he left for a second and came back with an SD card converter so I could transfer the pictures to a regular computer. The impressive part was, not only did he not give up until he found a solution, but that was actually one of his own personal converters that he gave to me! This will definitely continue to be my Verizon store of choice. read more

Not a great experience for me going to this store. Very apathetic salesman who seemed bored and uninterested in helping us with a phone issue. He just shrugged us off and lazily suggested we buy a new phone because he had no real answer to why our phone was not reading it's SIM card. We were not convinced that we needed to spend $200.00 for a new phone and left the store. Luckily we had excellent and cordial service when we called Verzion customer service and we were able to fix the problem by simply getting a new SIM card from an actual Verizon store. read more

I was just in this store yesterday and waited for a full hour to get my pictures transferred to my new phone. I had the conversations that I did not have my icloud setup and that I needed them all moved over and they assured me that they would all be moved over. When he finished moving them he gave me my phone and said they would just take a little time to show up (a few hours). When I woke up this morning I am still missing half of my pictures including the engagement pictures I just took last week and the screenshots of all my very important notes he told me to take so they wouldn't be lost when the phone was reset. I just called them to see if I was doing something wrong or if there was anything we could do and they said no. I am furious and will never be going to this location again as I was assured everything would be copied over safely. read more

I have been working with Verizon for 3 days trying to change my plan. I keep getting the whole "you specific phone requires data." I Have a 3G blackberry. My area does not have 3G coverage, it may have 4g or 5g, but not 3g. 4g phones cost too much. And there is zero 3g coverage. But anyway, they still insist that I pay $30 a month on data, or switch the entire family plan to a modern plan, which may be cheaper but still involve paying for data that is not used by anyone. I talked with over 4 people and spent hours trying to solve this, but verizon policies are in the dark ages. They try to sell you data that you cannot physically use and just say "well that phone requires it." I now have to buy an entirely different phone just to get around their policies. NEVER USE VERIZON! read more

This is the only store I can find that is connected to the NEW Verizon Cellular Sales in Newport. There seems to be no way to write a review for the Newport store. This is a review, therefore, for that store, not the Cold Springs store. We bought four phones recently and after conducting a pretty thorough search of a number of carriers and two Verizon stores (Florence corporate store and the Newport premium retailer). Although we decided to go with Verizon, we were so discouraged by the treatment at the Florence store that we almost switched to another carrier altogether. Bait and switch seemed to be the name of the game at the Florence 'antiseptic' white (Apple-lookalike) store. We walked out. Luckily, we tried the Newport store and met with Kevin Johnson. He was patient, listened to our concerns, and promised he would deliver a different deal and a better deal - - and he did. We walked out with exactly the deal Verizon advertised in the Enquirer (unlike the deal we were hearing at the Florence store). The whole family was impressed with his explanations and the manner in which he dealt with us. He knows mobile phones and we are confident his advice was right on the mark. He very carefully took the time to set each phone up and never gave us the idea he was in a hurry to get us out the door once he made the sale. Kevin was also careful to explain exactly what our first bills would look like so that we would not be surprised at them and would know when the various rebates would appear. Mr. Johnson was more concerned with serving us and putting the right phone in our hands than he was concerned about getting a commission check on Friday. Every Tuesday the store offers a class (about an hour or two depending on the number of participants, the amount of help each needs and the number of questions) to help with how to use your phone. Chris Rice was super in helping three folks the following Tuesday evening. Kevin Johnson and Chris Rice are two reasons we highly recommend this store to you.
