Thanks, Lee for your help. You did it all while training a new employee. He's learning from the best. Sincerely, Barb &Mike

Saturday, the 17th, I had an appointment at the "Verizon" (cellular sales) store on the north side…read moreof Redmond to get my new phone. I got there, and we got started. I had an iPhone 12 Pro Max and was upgrading to the 17 Pro max...huge improvement! Mind you, my 12 was paid off. (I would hope so by now with how old it was.) I decided not to trade it in because it still works; it's just slow, and if ever I needed it, I'd have it. It was never mentioned that I had to trade it in. So, as the sales rep is transferring things over, he starts telling me that I'll have to keep my old phone activated on the account for 36 months until my new phone is paid off. It didn't sound right, but maybe because I was keeping the old phone, it made things harder, idk. He puts my old phone on a new line and gives me a new number for that device and gets my new phone set up. I then ask him directly, "So, because I'm not trading this phone in, I have to have service to it until my new phone is paid off?" "Yes, that is correct." I'm in no position to argue with someone "doing their job." I finish up at the store and go on about my day. I realized later on that he had added Verizon's device protection to both phones and the Netflix/HBO max perk even though I specifically said I don't need that and I already had a Netflix subscription. So with everything minus the taxes, I was looking at $157 a month for a brand-new phone and a burner phone I'd keep in a drawer. I vented to a few people about my experience and finally decided to call Verizon's customer support and figure out what the reason is for making me keep my old, paid-off phone activated on top of the $1600 phone I just bought. The customer service rep verbatim asked me if I was joking and said, "I'm pissed." "That's bullshit," so he knew that I got one pulled over on me and that the sales rep in the store was doing what he could to make a bonus/commission. He immediately deactivated my old phone from the account and explained everything that should have happened and what to expect with my phone bill from here on out. Just be mindful when you do go into the stores and listen to your gut because sometimes they're just as bad as car salesmen.

Okay, I'm going to do it, I'm going to give them 5 starts. One of the few...... My shout out is…read moreto Colton. Unbeknownst to him, his assistance with all of these phones was HUGE. Super professional and incredibly helpful through the whole process. It's a process, a system. But, if you work the system, it works!! You park, get in line, get on the list, told when you are going to get help and help comes!! I got a new phone for myself with Colton's help, then a few weeks later, got phones for my daughter and father and again, with Colton's help. I was easy for me, my daughter's situation was moderate, my dad was complicated. Colton didn't skip a beat and we have three new phones in our home and three happy customers. If you are up to it and are willing to work the system, their system does work. If you are impatient and crabby, I get it, but it's going to take a lot longer to resolve. So, my advice, be patient, realize that we are all in this together, that the staff is just doing their job and doing it to best of their ability with the resources available.

The Verizon website said they were in stock in the store. The guy who helped me did t know much about watches. He told me I could get it cheaper at Best Buy or Costco (except I knew more than he did, those cheaper options did not come with cellular service). Once I finally convinced him to sell me a watch, when me ordered it (none were in stock), he didn't provide me the options. Find out he ordered a S/M watch bad size when I needed a M/L. Also didn't ask which band option I wanted. Basically, the employees are zero help. It was completely ineffective to shop this store.
