Every time the temperature would suddenly go down - like every day when the sun sets, or any time a cold front would come through - my internet would stop working. Sometimes for minutes, sometimes for hours. I called tech support a dozen time and had three technicians come visit and each one tried something different but nothing solved the issue. Huge packet loss numbers (30+%) and pathetic speeds were my main issues. On the scheduled date of my last technician appointment, he called half an hour after my window started - I didn't answer, as I was in a work meeting at the time (remotely, at home). No message was left, but the technician merrily canceled my appointment. I called their 1-800 number and none of the people I talked to could've cared any less and the next appointment was over a week away. I'm attempting to activate my new service now. It's less expensive than Astound, which is probably a better value assuming this connection actually works most of the time. RCN used to be *GREAT* in Chicago but they have massively changed operations. Astound is worse than Brand X if that's even possible

However some things to note:…read more-The internet can be knocked out during bad weather (snow storms, thunderstorms, etc) since it is delivered wirelessly to the building (at least in my building's case). -Reliability when weather isn't a factor is incredibly high in my experience compared to other ISPs. -Speed is awesome. My building is supported for 100mbps, but I usually get around 200-300mbps download speeds, and at least 200mbps upload speed at all times. Sometimes my upload or download will peak around 500mbps. -Their support staff really knows their stuff. It's not like calling another ISP's support where you get tier1 support who asks you do to the basic troubleshooting. The support staff you get when you first call is likely the person who will truly be able to fix your issue. I work in IT, and absolutely appreciate this. THAT SAID, their hold times when calling for support are usually pretty terrible. I've been on hold before (including last night) for 1+ hours and then the call gets disconnected for whatever reason. Their email/online support is pretty lackluster. No way of updating or creating tickets online short of emailing them. In my current case, I've emailed them in response to a ticket and they seem to ignore the email altogether. I'm now trying to call them to get the issue resolved. Overall, I'd give them an A- as a grade. If they could up their support, it'd be the best ISP out there.

The xfinity agent told me their system was not proprietray and it could work with blink cameras. It is proprietary. There are advantages and disadvantages to a plugged in camera. I thought I could get the best of both worlds, but now have to run a separate system for blink. I talked to Omar 10/25. I complained that because they gave me bad info, I have to invest in additional equipment (sync module, echo show, and new router. From what I've been reading on the forums. It doesn't play well with the xfinity router). He told me they weren't charging me for the security equipment or installation so I let it go. I find out today, they actually are and they basically tell me there is nothing they will do. Sso much for their "satisfaction garauntee". Maybe I'll keep it. If I pull it out, I'll let you know how it goes. Just be careful when you talk to these them. I've been getting bad information. They might wonder why I never stick around for their surveys. It's because it sometimes takes a week or so before you find out the customer service agent didn't do what they told you they did. FYI: The system itself works OK for what it's supposed to do. I just wish their people were knowledgable enough to have told me what it was supposed to do instead of telling me what I "wanted to hear".

Very clean facility, easy to find (entrance is in the rear) and parking is great--just make sure you pay attention to the signs. The whole staff was great. Ross and Jacqueline (I believe, sorry if it's not!) took my fingerprints and they were very kind and informative. I did chat with another employee and she was very pleasant as well. I would definitely go back if I needed any more of their services.

They run off of cell phone towers kind of like a hot spot but using a MoFi Router Antenna system. We had them for a year and a half and the service was great! We could stream whatever we wanted, the kids could play on their X-Box and when Covid hit I had two people working from home always on the computer. No problem... until recently they had to change our service, they took away our unlimited data and put us down to 300GB told us they were sending us a new SIM card plus they were going to charge us an additional $20/month. What the heck!?? But what other options did we have besides At&t (we heard it's horrible downloads speeds are at 5mb/s) and Satellite? NONE!. We are unable to get any type of hight speed cable/fiberoptic at our locations. So we installed the new SIM card and couldn't get a connection and tried several times! I called and left messages, they said they would call back and never did. I emailed and they sent out a big letter stating if you are still having problems with connectivity then you need to get another plan depending on what cell service you have. We have Verizon so to get that one it was going to cost us even more $. So we went from paying $89/month now up to $129/month an additional $40/month. Another SIM card was shipped out. I tried installing it. No connection, I tried calling the company multiple times, put on hold for over 40 min emailed and they told me that my card wouldn't be activated until that night which was on November 12th, 2021 so we waited and we tried again on the 13th and again on the 14th and no connectivity. So I emailed the company demanding a refund on service and equipment. They only refunded the service because of course the refund policy on the equipments only goes up to 14 days after purchase. Even thought this was their screw up changing service on us and not even calling to try and help us out. And I'm so tired of companies saying "Unlimited High Speed Internet, oh until you reach so many GB then we are going to reprioritized you and slow you WAY DOWN. That's a flat out lie, you can't say unlimited high speed if you are going to slow us down. Such crap!! I would not recommend this company to anyone at this time. I don't know if they changed ownership. Before this big switch in service I could call any time and get a hold of someone. It's unfortunate that companies don't treat their customers with respect. We are the one's making you money.
