Every time coming into a VZW store is such a bummer, and unfortunately once again our experience just sucked. Stuck up staff that couldn't assess our problem accurately had to call the same tech support I did at home to tell me the same thing they told us. So we sat here and had them lie to us about what the problem is when we knew the solution. Sure enough the problem got fixed after we had to remind them the specifics of our own contract. Most of the complaints here are from people who don't understand how a COMMISSION based sales representative employee environment works. Yes, you heard it correctly; EVERY cell phone rep in the WORLD receives commission. With that being said, if you are in a cell phone store for anything but a sale, expect less than perfect service from the representative who wants to move on to a sale. That's what the 800 number is for. Or email. Or even online chat. That being said, I had a GREAT experience with this store and Danielle in particular. I used to work for the competition in a corporate owned location (not a dealer) and I know how this works. Service was friendly. I did have to wait a bit but that is to be expected. Seriously, this isn't wal-mart. Transactions here take time and patience. (Referring SPECIFICALLY to the idiot who kept on referring to himself as "the hero"). Danielle did a great job enlisting the help of her manager if she was unsure of an answer (and being formerly in the biz, I had a few) and her manager was more than knowledgeable. This feedback is for Verizion as well as Asurion management. Verizon please stop using Asurion service for outsouring your clients phone replacement. It is a nightmare getting replacement from Asurion. The absued deductible Asurion charges ($199!!! - 25% of a new phone value), in addtion to the monthly warranty charge paid to Verizon, totally defeats the purpose of the warranty. Asurion service is horrible, making you fill questionaire online, then on a paper form that you have to sign, upload and also again speak to a representative. Seriously, why cant the hard copy uploaded be sufficinet? also the support sucks. The chat option is useless and the support phone number keeps you waiting forever. Also the delivery date of the replacement kept shifting. Previously without Asurion, Verizon would replace the phone in a day, without all the wasted time and no deductible and frustration. Now with Asurion, Verizon has just taken 100 steps back, and also just lost a loyal customer. read more

Had a great experience with this store. Billy was very accommodating and helpful. Needed to purchase a new phone case and glass protection for two phones. He recommend the new Pelican phone case similar to Otter Box. Same price so I went with the Pelican. We also purchased two new Zagg glass screens and Billy put these on it our phones. My cell phone recently drowned in the Arkansas River, no joke. Fell out of my pocket and the Ziploc bag it was stored in apparently was not sealed all the way...and when we hit a sinkhole and the raft filled with water, so did my cell phone. *Glub*. *Blub*. Requiescat in pace electronicum, and so forth. Trying to resurrect the phone a day later resulted in a Verizon screen that came up really quickly and then frizzled out just as quickly. Swapping batteries resulted in the same thing. So it was off to the local Verizon dealer, twice in a 2-day period. I fortunately had insurance on it, so for a $50 deductible (ouch), I was able to get a replacement Dare, fresh battery and charger via Asurion. The amazing thing was I made my claim at 7pm on a Friday night and had the phone in my hands 16 hrs later, 11am on a Saturday morning. If Asurion was listed, I'd give them *6* stars. BIG kickass kudos to them. My visit Friday was icky -- the Boulder location was *swarming* with people, most of whom had little trivial things but kept interrupting the salespeople who were in the midst of communicating with others already -- like me. And instead of saying "Be right with you" or "I'll be with you in a moment", they'd swivel and devote all their attention to the newcomers. Store manager Jessica, if you ever read this, yes, this means *you*, and it *was* noted by me, and I *am* posting it for review here. Finish communicating with 1 customer before starting with another -- and if you can't, ponder if it would tick you off if a salesperson "put you on hold" to speak with other customers longer than 30 seconds, hmmm?. (She also said she would go find a replacement battery for me to try and was gone a full 7 minutes before I got up, located her, and gave her "the Eye" from across the room). Saturday's visit was much better, and I dealt with a sales/tech support person who was solely focused on me and my issue when my turn came up (I was 7th in line when I arrived), and on top of that she was able to recover my contacts, mystically, from my toasted phone, and transplant it into my new one. How did you *do* that, if my old phone couldn't be resurrected? Whatever you did, nice job -- very impressive. 2 stars + 5 stars = 7 stars / 2 visits = 3.5...I'll bump it up to 4. I'd just advise people to avoid this place like the plague on Friday afternoons. You won't get great service if my experience is any indicator. Try another day. read more

Upon entering, he is greeted by a smartly dressed gentleman with a state-of-the-art computer clipboard-looking thing. He thinks: swank! This should be easy and fun. 1:03pm: Smartly dressed gentleman asks our hero what he's in for. Hero says he needs a new cover. Gentleman replies that they have several to choose from, and then he points toward them. Hero, having had many salesman experiences in his long life, begins walking in that direction. Gentleman puts up the universal stop sign. "I'll have the next free salesperson help you." OK, thinks our hero as he stops walking. They're busy. Makes sense. 1:06pm: Oh, but there it is! Yon cover for which he has been yearning, lo these many days! Glimmering, so beautifully glimmering. It's almost as if, in another universe, he could walk up, pick one out, and pay for it! Gentleman is standing still with his clipboard, waiting to welcome anyone else who might walk in. 1:09pm: Our hero, desirous to get back to his new place of employment in a timely manner, does a passive aggressive throat clear followed by some impatient pacing. There is no response from gentleman, who has done nothing but mouth breathe in the last three minutes. 1:13pm: At last! Another gentleman with a name tag is striding toward clipboard-holding gentleman! This 11-minute wait will soon be but a footnote, because our hero will have what he so desires in his possession. 1:13 to 1:15pm: The two gentlemen engage in a conversation. Apparently the first is telling the second what the now three waiting customers are waiting for. Our hero hears his name. This makes our somewhat-weary hero a little bit hopeful. At the same time, our hero wonders what the clipboard is for, if not to jot down this sort of information. Is it a prop? 1:16pm: Our first gentleman hands the clipboard to the second gentleman. Oh no! Second man is a clipboard holder, not a sales person! Where is first going to? Perhaps it is first gentleman's lunch hour. Perhaps he needs to visit the loo. Our hero looks at the new holder of clipboard and despairs: if only there was some system out there, by which a clipboard-holding salesperson might bring our hero what he wishes for, and perhaps take his money. If only. 1:17pm: Our hero remembers that Al Gore created the Internet for much this sort of purpose. He could use the Internet, and buy the same thing, and have it shipped to him. Oh joy! He can walk out of the insane store where he's been standing for 15 minutes, waiting for a freakin' Droid cover. read more

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wait in a line that you can't see, to be helped by someone who couldn't use a calculator, let alone a smart phone, only to find out they won't (i say won't because they usually COULD) solve your problem? Well look no further, the Verizon store on 28th has you covered. My most recent agony was at the hands of their "store manager", at least that is what he claimed to be. His name tag said "Solutions Manager", although that's a lie too. A more accurate title would be "Excuses Specialist" because that is really all he brings to the table. If I remembered his name it would be on this post too, believe me. All in all, switching is a pain that I am going to endure after that encounter. But when we need Verizon Business to help with our account they have limited hours and certainly won't help on the weekends. If you take your phone/iPad/watch to the Verizon store for help they won't and will tell you to call the Business line (which isn't open). read more

Trying to complete a decouple from a joint account, with a release. I did the online approach but was told it wouldn't go through in my case (‍) and that I'd have to see a sales rep. So I made an appt and paid for a ride to this storefront. But when I got there they said reps couldn't do a transfer to a new account; I'd have to do that by phone. I stayed in the store and called the number; on hold for 20 minutes, then told I would need to provide images of my ID and a utility bill (again, the store could do nothing) to the phone contact. I don't carry utility bills, and would have had to go home and start the process over. So: I got contract cancel codes (3) from the Verizon phone contact, went 800 feet to the T-Mobile store, and got the full Monty: new account, new iPhone Max/case (no utility bill needed). Verizon made it easier to cancel and go w a new provider than it did to stay with them. The Verizon store personnel were useless and/or their hands were tied by Verizon protocols. No one in the store offered to walk me through the process or help in any way, other than to tell me I had to do it all by phone. Granted, Communications companies are awful at communicating w customers; this was still a low water mark. read more

I've had multiple experiences here, but I'm reviewing based on my most recent. We were AT&T customers and after months of bad service and high bills, we decided to switch to Verizon. The first time we went into the store, the service wasn't that stellar. However, when we went back in yesterday, the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. I think you should always expect for the store to be busy and plan to wait a bit. We live in a world of cell phones where everyone and their mom and baby owns one. Plan to enter a store where at least one mom and one baby are having phone issues. I haven't waited more than 15 minutes for service. Last night, the manager introduced himself and let me know about the wait time. He even checked in when I could expect to be served soon. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and helped us out with all the hard stuff. I've been a Verizon customer in the past and I am excited to continue with my new service plan. This store will be my primary store and I'm happy to know that I can count on good staff. read more

I walked in to an empty store, first thing sales guy Spencer says "Looks like you've got a really old bag!" from another local store then loudly questioned my reply about how the bag could have been new since they'd changed their name. Seriously? Great way to greet a customer, Spencer. I explain that I have a return and he digs into my bag and grabs at a stack of receipts. He gets upset when I ask him to not dig into my bag and when I ask him to get me someone else to work with, he gets right into my face and says "Well aren't you a peach!" Super aggressive guy, clearly not used to being called out for being loud and pushy. The GM was really cool, just transferred to this store to "turn things around" which is reassuring because my last three experiences at that store have been dealing with mansplaining, "bro" salesguys and I've actually been considering switching carriers to get better service. Life is too short to deal with obnoxious customer service. But I'll wait and see if this new GM can help his team lose the attitude. The 3 stars isn't for Verizon as a company. So far, I've been very pleased with the network and phone selection, etc. Instead, the 3 stars is for the disorganization in the store. Since the remodel, they're even more understaffed, and even later in the evening, it's a 30+ minute wait to do _anything_. In order to buy a phone battery or charger or case (a 2 minute process), I'm stuck in line behind somebody who's trying to merge 5 different accounts with 4 replacement phones into one plan, or something equivalently time-consuming. They could do much better to designate one person as a cashier for trivial purchases, and then use the rest for new accounts, etc. It's just a shame that I can't just drop in and pick something up without an hour to spare. read more

I went to the Verizon store today to exchange an iPhone I purchased by phone on Thursday for my granddaughter's Christmas present because the customer service rep I placed the order with sent the wrong (more expensive) phone (and charged me the $200 difference). When I got to the Verizon store earlier today, I got a rep to help me almost immediately, but waited for over an hour for the exchange to be completed - not sure what took so long, but I was beyond frustrated with the whole thing. I recently had by far the best customer service experience I have ever had. Wendy at Verizon went ABOVE and BEYOND all of my expectations which further justified my long term commitment with Verizon Wireless. I first went to pre-order my iPhone 6 and she asked me if I would like to set an appointment to order a week later so that I would not have to wait and I could WALK right in. Once that day came there were some troubles with the system and she Texted me prior to my appointment to let me know what was going on and that I could take my time and she would let me know once the systems were up and running. It was over and hr so I went it to let her know I would have to return to work since it was my lunch break. Wendy was amazing and took down all of my info so that she could put in my order immediately. Once it was time to receive my phone there was some type of error and the phone did not come in as expected and Wendy yet again went above and beyond to save me the exact phone I was looking for and set me up that SAME DAY! Lastly, I felt horrible but once I came in on Friday night to get my phone she stayed well past CLOSE to make sure I was good to go and everything was set up correctly. Most people write REVIEWS to express there bad experiences but I figured that since I had SUCH an AWESOME experience I should take the time to write a great review for both Wendy and my experience and Verizon Wireless! So I came in on a Sunday trying to finance the Apple Watch to my account. Turns out there was a freeze because my old roommate who I added ooh my line hadn't paid off a previous balance. Ryan, my sale consultant helped me get the correct number to get that fixed. Unfortunately finance was closed and I had to call Monday. I did and no matter many times I called I could not get anyone to help me. I've spent two hours on the phone teething to get this figured out. Irritated I went back to this Verizon a store and talked with Ryan. Explained the situation and he was more than happy to help. He himself spent an hour and a half on the phone for me trying to help get this problem solved. Finance was even difficult for the corporate store. I finally got it figured out on Wednesday within ten minutes. I went tin Thursday to meet with Ryan because he went above and beyond for the customer service he provided. My wife and I went here to upgrade our phones and add myself to her line switching from T-Mobile. The customer Service rep was Dean who was nice but lacking in customer product offerings and knowledge. He wasn't even aware of the promotion (SG7 buy one get one), that brought us into the store in the first place. We were there for a couple of hours, while he up sold us on Verizon's overpriced accessories of $240 total. We went home though feeling okay about it, at least we got out alive! The store manager sent me a text the next day thanking me for the new business and asked if I had any questions. I instantly messaged him back stating that I had an issue with the accessories they sold us and wanted to speak to him about it. waited an hour and never received any message back, so I went back to the store. It wasn't very busy, but they made me wait 30 minutes because i was returning items. They sent me a very rude and disgruntled CS rep. I guess he was upset that I called them out on their poor tempered glass screen protector that didn't fit and cracked within an hour of being in my pocket. But he angrily returned the items for me and said "alright bye!". What a welcome to a BRAND NEW CUSTOMER!!!!!!!!!!! 2 weeks after visiting the store, Verizon sent us a additional SG7 that we did not order. Did some calling and they had no record of it, but we returned it to the store anyways, good karma! Fast forward to our second monthly bill of ~$270 dollars, and come to find out we were being double billed for two separate plans; my wife's old plan on one phone, and me on a totally separate one! Dean totally screwed everything up! After an hour on the phone with Verizon customer service they were able to fix our plan and credit back our over payments, but geez what a hassle! simple plan choice indeed!!!!!!!! read more

I've been a Verizon customer for nearly 10 years, and have generally have had good interactions with their staff. Recently went in to the 29th street location and was left with an extremely sour taste in my mouth. The store manager Erik was extremely rude, and even went so far as to say he does not care about customer retention. We spend thousands of dollars a year on both domestic and international plans, and to hear that our business is not valued was incredibly disappointing. I would steer away from this location at the very least, if not explore other carriers. read more

After getting in early to beat the lunch rush I was placed on a "5-10 minute wait list" great, I just need them to look at my headphone jack on my 2 month old S5... 25 minutes later after I realized that several of the people whom came in after me were being served. I asked where I was on the list.and the menial Verizon drone said that I had been removed. "Why was I removed?" she had no idea but offered to put me back on the list. Another 25 minutes go by without being called. I eventually just cut my losses and leave since my entire lunch hour has been spent waiting. But I am dropping two stars because Verizon is horrible, and these employees are perhaps a knowing part of the process. We signed up for a two-year contract with three phones after we were told we would receive a 12% discount on the monthly bill through my wife's company. When the bill came, there was a 15% discount but only on the 2 GB data plan. There was no discount on the much larger line access charges per phone. The salesman was not to blame. He asked the manager in the back and was told that it was a 12% discount on the total monthly bill. The difference between the claimed discount and what we will actually pay over the two year period is about $14*24 months = $336. We appear to have no recourse, but you should NOT TRUST what they tell you in the store regarding discounts. read more

I was having an issue with my Google Pixel and a rep as well as the manager were claiming that I've had the pixel since October 4th. I wasn't even a Verizon customer until October 19th and the Pixel didn't even come out until late October. The incompetence is mind boggling. They sold me a defective Pixel and replaced it with a refurbished Pixel. They still charged me full price for the used refurbished Pixel. When I brought this up the manager simply told me to switch to ATT if I have a problem with paying full price for a refurbished phone. In fairness, he got that right. I switched to Verizon specifically for the Google Pixel. 2 months later I'll be switching back to ATT. I'm baffled by the incompetence. read more

Beware Verizon. Guys in the store are not to blame but Verizon held my number hostage for 3 weeks after moving to ATT. Ended up having to file a complaint with the FTC to get it released. FCC standard for porting the number to new carrier is one business day. Lied to in five different ways. Separate but second serious issue is network capacity in Boulder area. Bought a Jetpack from this store to replace one that I thought I had lost. Found my old one the same day and returned the never used new one to the same store still in box. Even though the new unit was still in box and never used, I was charged a $35 "restocking" fee. Really! Totally bogus! I had planned to upgrade my IPhone before being told about this fee that the salesman insisted on charging. Apparently the fee is more important than the $800 IPhone I was looking at purchasing. Needless to say....that certainly won't happen now. Great place to go if you're looking to get up saled but other than that I would highly recommend finding another store( or at the least another salesman). Peace Out! UPDATE: Called main office with my complaint and they dropped the fee. So changing my 1 star rating to 3 stars for their prompt response to this matter. Bought a new iPhone 8 for my annual upgrade last Thursday, as in 6 days ago. I also purchased a screen protector and a case from Dean the sales associate. He specially said that the invisible shield screen protector was the best in the store. Today I walked in because my screen had cracked through my screen protector. As I walked in 9/11 employees we seen leaning on tables chatting amongst themselves. No one greeted me until I said "hello??" Dean FINALLY responded with a snide how can I help you? Showed no respect to me and had no help to offer other than saying maybe next time don't drop your phone. Told me to call customer service for additional help. After he'd just witnessed my phone lock up!!! Like how the fuck am I supposed to call with no phone?!?! He reluctantly sets me up with a call to customer service on a landline in the store. After the phone rep did all of the troubleshooting I had already done, she hung up on me. I flagged down headband guy and explained to him that I know the reps are focused on sales and asked for a manager. Out comes punk number 2, Phillip. Gives me the same generic useless answer/options: go to Apple or get a replacement shipped out to me. More time wasted before I leave with nothing resolved and go spend an hour in the apple store. I hate this Verizon store and Apple. I'm going to T-Mobile as soon as I can. They may not treat customers any better but at least I won't be paying top dollar for shit service. read more

I concur with the perception of some other folks who've observed that there often seem to be several Verizon employees milling about, while there are several people waiting for some resolution to their problem. It almost seems as if Verizon (and other wireless providers for that matter) should set up one desk or team dedicated to sales and another dedicated to customer service and problem resolution. It's easy to just blame bad customer service on a commission-based environment, but that's short sighted. The corporate management has made that choice, and it is resulting in a lot of bad experiences and negative perception for the folks that aren't there to just to buy a new smartphone or a bunch of extra add-ons. My ongoing annoyance with retail stores and customer support is that in about 80% of cases, the folks in the store can't get off script. They are handcuffed by their own devices and processes. Having a bunch of pad-like devices and bar code readers doesn't make up for bad prioritization of customers and ignoring obvious signs of people waiting. They don't have the tools or permission to go into certain applications and figure things out by themselves. Their scanners and databases are rigid and dumbed down, and if any device doesn't function exactly like the manual or the training instructs, then they don't have a clue. Whenever I've had problems with phones and needed to do a switch-over (because one of them crapped out), it almost always turns into an hour long process. The process for pre-paid service is terrible, and almost always involves calling someone at the switch. Trying to run Backup Contacts and Restore just never seems to work right. In the latest issue with a prepaid LG phone, I am unable to make calls or send email. The online system says the plan doesn't expire for a few more days. An employee told me that it was an issue with my plan, and that that was the reason my phone stopped working. Wrong. So I paid again (early) for another month and it still doesn't work. I guess what bugs me is they seem so sure of themselves and dismissive of a problem. They're probably just focused on the next big sale. I just wish Verizon would actually put some knowledgeable people on the front line, pay them well, and be able to effectively resolve technical issues. The sad part is that I know lots of people with service from other providers like T-Mobile or Sprint. And their customer service may be better. But their service sure isn't. Many people on T-Mobile routinely can't seem to receive or make calls. Or they don't get their voicemail for 3 days. read more

Be careful if you switch your plan at this store! I went in to have my wife switch from Sprint and the rep put us on the edge plan and swore to us our total bill would only be $140 a month with the ins and phone costs. When asked for this in writing the rep said there were no sell sheets she could give us, so she scribbled it onto the back of a piece of paper, a scam and lie method by a commissioned rep in my opinion. My wife called in to cust support after receiving a higher bill and was told it would be $140 as well. Now that our termination period has ended the bill has gone up to $175! There is no support to help correct this and after 2 hrs on the phone all we were offered is a $20 one time credit; still far less than the $35 we were supposed to be saving every month. Since we are on the Edge scam plan we can't even switch carriers for less than $1000. If anyone from Sprint reads this and would like to help out I will switch today!! I have been with Verizon for 15 years and swear to never sign another plan with them if they do not correct this! I was pleasantly surprised to have a good experience at Verizon for once. I have been having trouble with my phone and already came in once to get it fixed. The sales girl, Christina, did a great job helping me come to a solution. She was able to get a new phone shipped overnight and took the time to go over my account and walk me through it. She also took the time to answer questions about my upgrade which is not due for another few months. Big props to Christina for making my experience a good one!!! P.S.
