I spent two days in the phone with xfinity to release my phone number. They put me in Xfinity Jail. Finally they gave me the "code" to release my number. Woke up the next day to find out that BOTH of my phones were not activated. Needless to say I couldn't call out to call either service providers. I ran to the Verizon store in Lincoln square. Bobby looked up my non existent account. Gave me the phone and coached me through the online Verizon customer service. It took about an hour but they were able to activate my new phone. This is the best Verizon store. I won't go anywhere else. read more

No! Absolutely not! Ever! I am COMPLETELY shocked by the business practices of this store/probably entire company. I am a 51 year-old full-time father losing my daughter's mother to cancer so to say that money is tight is a HUMONGOUS understatement. I went into this particular store to get a new phone and Verizon service. Nothing more nothing less. And the sales person who was "helping" (robbing/lying) me through a process that was supposed to take less than 40 minutes according to him (1.5 hrs later I finally left the store) during my lunch break would not stop badgering me to death about an Internet service that I didn't need and I can't connect at home anyways but promised me if I bring it back within the first 30 days I would not be charged a single dollar for it. So I brought it back 10 days later and first of all the stores won't take them back. After being promised that it was completely free I received my first bill which he told me would be no more than $60. Attached is the image of that first bill. The sales person/thief that was there when I went back to return that rip off (not the liar who sent me off w it) could do nothing about it. I'm being charged for something. Came in to buy new iPhone 15, was told that they wouldn't sell it unless I gave almost $400 then and there for taxes and accessories (plus STILL monthly $30+ installments for 3 years) because they could not sell me it unless it included a packaged deal with a case, screen protector and 2 car accessories because "this is how they make their money" which is so ludicrous. This isn't a real Verizon outlet, it's a 3rd part contractor pawn shop who wants to peddle you accessories. They said that if I wanted a phone by itself I would have to buy it through verizon online directly since it's an "online only deal, we don't do that in stores and we can't have phones delivered here if you wanted it shipped here." Going through hoops. I'm researching to get a low vision phone for my father, so went in to Verizon, his service provider. They were unable to show me phones that would be available to order unless I get a code from my father they submitted by text. Mind you, he's been having vision issues and wouldn't be able to see the code. My father wasn't available to even attempt it, so they refused to show me phones that might help him. Would give zero stars if I could. We went into the store to upgrade a line. They told us there is no upgrade for an iPhone 16 from an iPhone 11. My husband left and we weren't sure why we were charged $1,200. So I called Verizon, talked to 3 different people (I got disconnected and when I got back to the store they told me I was wrong and to call them back). My app and each 3 people said I was correct and eligible for an $830 credit toward an iPhone 16. As I'm on the phone with Verizon, I tell the employee Gianni or something similar (same guy the whole time in store), that I have them on the phone to tell him about the upgrade we should receive. He says, "I don't need to talk to them, I'm not wrong." The Verizon employees on the phone are so confused, telling me to just give the phone back and they'll help me. All of a sudden, Gianni, comes over and goes, "oh yeah that's right, but you said you wanted to pay the full price for the device. So we charged you the full price." I'm sorry, what?! No, we said we don't want to finance and will pay the difference between the upgrade, so the appropriate amount we owe, being $400. Not trying to rip us off to pay the full $1,200. He would not let it go. After 2 trips to the store and 4 phone calls to Verizon corporate, we finally got our refund and charged us the difference. Terrible customer service for them to just charge us for a full new device and telling us we couldn't use our upgrade. Verizon corporate said they cannot understand why they did that and if the store wouldn't help us they would immediately. Will never ever trust these people again. Also, Verizon corporate said they're just an authorized seller and not a corporate store. Avoid this place at all costs. There was also a woman who originally helped my husband. I didn't catch her name, but she had originally made the mistake and told us there was nothing they could do about the cost of the phone. So each employee there was either not knowledgeable of their job, or unwilling to help. Either way, terrible customer service. read more

I've been to three Verizon locations in the past two weeks, and only one had good customer service. This was not that one. The guy (one guy in the whole place) working there clearly didn't want to deal with me, and was totally unhelpful. Went there to get my charging port repaired as the cable keeps slipping out. After 3 hours they could not fix it. They said they would get my phone to their "master technician" who of course was not around so offered me a loaner until everything was done. I got home only to realize that they gave me an iphone 6 as a loaner which of course does not accept the latest ios so I am unable to sync my contacts, apps etc. So basically they gave me a flip phone as a loaner. They'd do better to make sure that after wasting half my day they gave me a loaner that is at least as good as the phone that they said they could fix but clearly couldn't. Unbelievable. read more

Beware! I will echo the same warnings as many other reviewers - this is NOT a corporate Verizon store & do NOT shop here. I visited the store in October 2019 and was unaware that there was a difference between Verizon corporate locations and Verizon retail partner locations. While the service was friendly and seemingly knowledgeable, the decision to do business with this store was a costly mistake. The staff assisted in switching two lines to Verizon and processing one trade-in. The staff told us that we would be receiving $700 in rebates/credits. At the end of the transaction, there was mention that there was issue with the rebates and not having signed up for the Unlimited Plan. The staff member and manager said that it was not a big deal and that they had a method of resolution. Over a month later, both rebates and the trade-in credit had been denied or not applied. I called and visited the store in person - they told me on both occasions that it was a "glitch" with Verizon billing process and that many customers were affected. However, I found out that it wasn't a glitch and no steps were being taken to resolve. I asked to speak to the manager of the stores and was told by the staff member, "I don't know who he is or his name." After my third visit to the store and escalation to the district manager (his phone number was posted on Yelp by another customer who had similar issues), I thought that they would correct the issues given their obvious responsibility. However, I only received empty promises and more lies. Several of the texts pictured below illustrate that the store continued to lie and attempt to deceive me. I confirmed with Verizon that there were no pending credit requests or rebates, despite the managers claims. While Verizon corporate does not have to take responsibility for Verizon retail store actions, the customer service representative and supervisors thought this to be such a blatant case of horrible customer service and deception that they covered my rebates and credits. In the end, Verizon corporate was able to help me - but it required months of hassle for me and endless frustration. I tried to be patient with the store - and that didn't work. I tried to be firm with the store - and that didn't work. If I would have gone to a corporate store in the first place, I would have saved myself so much aggravation and potential loss of money. I sincerely hope that potential customers learn from my mistake and go to the nearest Verizon corporate store. read more

He tried to tell the guy how busy they were and he needed to know exactly why he was there. Than when I sat down he just talked to me like I was stupid. He was shaking the whole time and clearly cannot handle being a manager. Literally some of the worst customer service I have ever received. Three years ago I bought a Google pixel here and was misled by the salesman to believe I was making a down payment on the phone in the amount of an accessories package. They talked as if the accessories were free, promotional toward the purchase of the phone. I should have reviewed them then. My partner dropped their phone in Lincoln Square today and went in to get a replacement. They pulled the same nonsense with "packages" and "down payments" and added $15/month device protection without telling my partner. We also are qualified for a waiver of the upgrade fee, which they did not apply. The salesman gave my partner just a credit card receipt, no breakdown of what, if any, of the money would go to the cost of the phone. It should be noted that they are NOT Verizon, either. My partner wanted to pay off the device on purchase, which real Verizon stores let you do. They did not. They are an authorized Verizon retailer. Believe me, there's a difference, and you'll notice it when they try to swindle you or someone you care about. read more

Not horrible, but definately not great. I had a samsung s8 for years and paid the insurance very month, only to have the crap option of $150; deductible and then having to wait several days (which might as well be months) in today's time without a phone. My other option was to buy a new phone outright. My choices were a Lexus, jaguar, or Mercedes. They had only the newest models and the cheapest option was $750. Whatever, the associate was helpful but also was annoying..."relax I got this, we are gonna take care of you" Save it kid. I had a job, while you were still a fetus. You're not going to save the day in anyway, what is going to happen is I'm going to give you a thousand dollars and you're going to give me a new phone....that's it. And the ceo of Verizon will buy a 6th vacation home this year. He kept on telling me "verizon makes their money off of happy customers" mission failed verizon. Make no mistake from the sign outside, this is not an official Verizon store. They are a 3rd party retail location which means they do not follow any corporate Verizon policy. Learned this the hard way after a fast talking sales person had already ran the purchase through and I looked at the receipt. Was supposed to transfer an upgrade to a different line but instead they processed the upgrade as an early upgrade and said they don't do transfer upgrades (which Verizon does do). Also they won't allow you to return a phone with after a screen protector is put on (which they will do to your new phone without asking). Don't bother talking to Verizon customer service, since they aren't a corporate store they can't help with anything you buy there. Who would have thought there are businesses more shady than the buy here pay here car lots down the street. As with any purchase, review the charges before you sign a contract to avoid any discrepancies with what you thought you are being charged vs what is actually being charged. I recently went trough some headaches involving my phone and the insurance company. It seemed like getting a replacement was going to be impossible considering the first one they sent wen missing and I was about to travel for business shorty. After a number of phone calls and arguing I visited my local Verizon store and was pleasantly surprised to find two people willing to help me with my issue. Not only did they go out of their way to try and get me a phone to use in the meantime, but they also were able to work out the issue with my insurance company. All said and done my new replacement phone should be here tomorrow. Thanks for the help and for further making me realize that Lincoln Square is the best neighborhood in Chicago. read more

Despite all outward appearances, this is NOT a corporate Verizon store and while that may not seem like a big thing, it is huge and will affect everything from the quality of the phone you get to the price you pay and whether or not you get conned. This is a Verizon affiliate, basically a third party cellphone company that sells Verizon service but has it's own business agenda. The sign outside makes no mention whatsoever that it's actually part of the Mobile Generation chain, but you'll see that on your sales receipt and also on the Verizon website. Mobile Generation operates in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana and committed fraud against me. I want to echo what others have said and encourage you NOT TO GO HERE, but instead find a Verizon corporate location (You can find addresses on Verizon's site) This location is only interested in sales, not customer service, and I'm still dealing with the effects of buying what was sold to me as a brand new phone. I signed up for a brand new iPhone 7 for $600 and started making payments on but Verizon sold me an refurbished like new phone instead. When I couldn't get cell phone service I visited the store and since sales staff realized that they couldn't sell me anything, they simply said I would need to contact Apple. When I did, Apple told me they couldn't work on it because it was refurbished phone that had been owned by two other people! And Verizon has been hesitant to help since this is not an actual corporate store. I'm stuck in a cycle of making payments on a used phone that doesn't work. So Verizon Mobile Generation in Lincoln Square sold me a used phone as if it were a new one. Verizon requires sales people to notify shoppers when they are getting a refurbished phone, but I was never told that (and didn't want one.) I certainly wouldn't have agreed to it for $600. I'm working on contacting corporate leadership to resolve this. DO NOT GO HERE, no matter how convenient it is. You might have a pleasant experience, but you also might get ripped off big time. read more

I've worked both with Jake and Damien and this location both to switch carriers and make changes to my phone plan and I can attest that they are both fantastic. The staff here is knowledgeable, friendly, and there is no high pressure sales pitch which cannot be said of other locations. They both went through the different plans available, never pressuring me to choose a more expensive plan or purchase a ton of extra accessories that I didn't need. The staff here is not just friendly and eager to help when a sale is on the line either; I have regularly seen other customers stopping by just to ask questions, etc. and the staff is always super helpful. It is good to know that my relationship with this business does not stop once I buy a phone. It feels great knowing that I can stop by with any questions or issues about my iPhone down the road. My one suggestion would be to add a customer seating area in the store since there seems to be room for it. Cell phone stores seem to come and go regularly in the area, but I really do hope this location continues to stay since they are a great asset to the neighborhood. Apple store can not fix my phone because the phone is FAKE. So, I went back to this store where got the phone from and the manager said " There's nothing we can do!!!" I paid full price and bought insurance from this store but what i got is a FAKE iPhone. ONLY SHOP AT VERIZON CORPORATE STORES. THIS IS A FRANCHISE. BUYER BEWARE. FIND A CORPORATE STORE. This is too long a story to tell here. Just know that this is NOT a Verizon store, and they commit what amounts to fraud when they tell you things are free and they aren't, charge $250 for fake plans, up the price of the phone you purchase, etc. They told me no contract but had me sign a contract. You can get a better deal from Apple than you can at these store fronts. They didn't give me a statement of charges when I left. I expected it to be with the bag of items. Always check your bag or make sure you get a receipt. I had to return to the store the next day when I returned to the store, which I then scanned and sent to customer care at Verizon. This store recommends that you don't call Verizon customer care because "they don't know what we do here." One thing I do know is that they work on commission. The more they can pad your receipt, the more they earn. All this is reason enough to be suspicious. Luckily, Verizon customer care does know a thing or two. Just make sure to pay with a credit card, get a receipt, so you have fraud protection and the power to dispute the charges. And ALWAYS call Verizon customer care. read more

I needed help with what may seem simple to some , I couldn't get. He was happy to help. I rarely give reviews, but believe excellent service warrants positive feedback. I had two different phones that had issues, one an older phone that shuts off randomly, the other a newer phone with a bad microphone. I visited this store where I met Bobby, who took the time to advocate with Verizon on my behalf for replacement phones, one of which he was able to get me for free under an extended warranty, and the other at a very reasonable post warranty price. He did everything with me (backups, resets, etc) and I was there for 90 minutes and even though there was nothing being sold to me by them, I was very well taken care of and appreciative for Bobby's efforts. read more
