I am 74 years old and am relatively ignorant re; cell phone usage. My Apple 5S will be rendered obsolete soon and my son has allowed me to use his old Apple 6. This past week I journeyed to the Coal City, Il. Verizon store for help in transferring my data to the new phone. Both employees were busy with clients, ergo a wait for service, but in doing so I monitored the employees dealing with customers who preceded me- and I was greatly impressed. When my turn came Aaron Mumm waited on me. Experiencing some difficulties with the transfer Aaron was cordial, professional and very instructive. The transfer of data was ultimately successful but more importantly the half century in age between the two of us was significantly reduced because of Aaron's maturity and business acumen. Delaney was wonderful! He put up with my husband and I over several hours and we are a handful especially my husband haha! He talked video games with hubby who is autistic and made him happy. We were switching our service back to Verizon (from T-Mobile) which was a pain (thanks to T-Mobile). do not come here... hidden added fees of,almost $300. incompetent service techs messed up our accounts. tried to issue sim fee when verizon has free sims. messed up one time fees on line. switched names and info on our phones when said we did,t want to continue. repeatedly asked for out the door price but no response. worst place ever. read more

Every time I run into issues with my I-phone or VERIZON plan, I call the Coal City location rather than the General VERIZON corporate number. Today was no different, we had used all of our data prior to the end of our billing cycle. Amanda, at this location went above and beyond assisting me in resolving the problem. She was able to identify some available discounts and we ended up with unlimited data for less per month than we are currently paying. I will NEVER go to another VERIZON location - Coal CIty and the employees there are AMAZING!!!! Thank you Amanda - you ROCK!!!! read more

This store likes to do absolutely ANYTHING to get every dime that they can. I'm eight months pregnant and I am now stuck with a phone to pay off on the Edge plan that I specifically asked not to be on. Not only did I, but also my boyfriend and his mother state that the Edge plan was not an option for us. Lindsay at the store promised that we would not be placed on it. She stated that she could get me an iPhone 6 at a low rate because the store owned one. She even had Tyler at the Morris Verizon store drive to the Coal City location to give me the phone! So, I was told that I would get a phone owned by the store for a discount and would stay on the More Everything plan. Well, these liars placed me on the Edge plan and now I'm stuck making monthly payments on an $800 phone. Saying that I'm disappointed is a serious understatement. I will NEVER set foot in this store again. If you're smart, you won't either. read more

I was sold a phone and insurance on a phone and they lied to me about the insurance. She told me if anything broke at all on the phone to bring it back and they would give me a new phone. So I went back when my screen broke and for an upgrade on my son's phone. I showed them my phone first and then they proceeded with my son's upgrade without saying a word about my phone. Got it all done asked my son if he wanted insurance on his phone with the same sales pitch with a replacement in there store and he said no. Then he threw a little business card at me and said it is all on here how to do. I told him what she said to me about being it back and he told me this is not throw Verizon and she would not say that after he just told my son the same thing. And I went to my car wand then decided to walk back in and talk to her and she looked something up in the computer and said it will cost you $149. To fix it but I can find you someone cheaper and I told her no. Have gone the fixing route before and they do not work long after that. Very untruthful. A good sales pitch but will not stand behind what they say. Ask for everything in print. I learned a lesson.and taxes on $248. Was $60. Does not all add up. read more
