Thank goodness I understood very quickly that staying here would not end well and ran, ran, ran right to Best Buy where they actually listened to what I wanted not what they wanted to quickly sell to me so they could move on to the next victim. I had an appointment and the minute the salesman called my name out incorrectly I knew I was in trouble. I believe his name was Cory. Having been in sales myself for 25 years I know that the first step is to at least "pretend" to find out what a customer is interested in. As an older person who still is pretty good at technology (I don't use " easy mode") my first question was about transferring my old Verizon phone to the upgrade I was going to make. I was told that they don't do that here but it was easy and they don't have the equipment to transfer and he threw me a guide to do it myself. WTF? I was going to spend like $900. How can they not be able to transfer. Every other Verizon Store and Best Buy has "the equipment." My BS meter says an out and out lie! I asked for less than the latest release and was told that they don't have them on display because "frankly it would cost you the same and not be as nice." All this person wanted was to sell me as much as possible as quickly as possible and not take time from his possible next sale for anything resembling customer service. This is the worst Verizon experience ever and I have been a Verizon customer for at least 15 years. We went right from there to Best Buy where I bought exactly what I wanted without an "appointment," had my phone transferred, shared some laughs with the salespeople and was out of there with a perfectly working phone in an hour. read more

Not very helpful if you don't intend to start up a plan or buy a new $300 phone. Simple tasks to them seem to be the most inconvenient thing in the world. I did intend to buy a couple items, but until I mentioned that, they wanted to half ass the few "free" things I went in there to get help for. I have been a loyal Verizon customer for a very long time. Upgrades have been seamless and they have great cell range coverage. I'm a single mom and with a simple call to 611, they help cut corners and lower my bill. I just have had one two many hiccups with my recent upgrade and I blame it mostly on the Verizon on Coburg store. When we went in to inquire about upgrades to iPhone 7s, the sales guy said that not only do we get free iPhone 7s (for our iPhone 6 trade ins), we get an iPad. Wow! After he disappeared to the back to produce our iPad, he proceeds to write down our monthly plan. The iPad was $38/mo (that didn't include the $10 line I found out about later). So I said "oh, so if we don't get an iPad, we will save $38/mo." He shook his head and waved at the paper and said "it's all part of the plan." I found out later the iPad was indeed an add-on and not necessary for the upgrade (wasted hour + of my time the next day reversing it all waiting in the coburg line but kudos to 611 for their help in saving me 48/mo). Also, I wasn't informed that I needed to complete an online process for trade-ins and the coburg sales guy also informed me that I wouldn't get anything for an iPhone 5s trade-in (wrong). This part refers to 611 issues (I would give 611 more stars than Coburg though)...After learning on my own about completing the process for trade-ins, one of my orders wasn't processed, all trade ins appeared on my daughter's line and I spent a half hour with Verizon 611 on the phone trying to figure it all out before 611 put me on hold for 15 minutes and then disconnected me. Geez. All I needed to know was what phone went to which box and how to get a return box for my son's phone (his iPhone 6 didn't appear in the drop down and a trade in brings in $650). Another call to 611...the guy resolved everything in less than 10 minutes but it's all stressful because you have to get the phones back in 30 days to receive trade in credit and you can't ship it back until you receive their shipped package. Ugh! Glad I don't have to upgrade for another 2 years and I will definitely avoid coburg next time around. This upgrade wasted so much unnecessary time and almost cost me $48/mo because I guess I'm an easy target. So disappointed in Verizon. read more

Okay I never go into phone stores bc i usually dont change my phone until it doesnt work anymore but went to verizon with my aunt and cousins in Oregon today (I'm from Cali) and the service was amazing. Jason helped us and was absolutely amazing. He was so patient with us and our disastrous family and so so helpful!! Very informative and knew exactly how to help us. Thank you Jason!! My husband & I came in about an hour before closing on Black Friday weekend with my two wild children for the trade-in promotion. I'll admit, I came in on edge after spending almost an hour on the phone with Verizon with a woman who didn't know the difference between Apple & Samsung. But these guys were so awesome! David helped us trade-in our phones quickly & efficiently. He really went above & beyond. & the whole store put up with our two little ones running around screaming. I waited 45 min, in a crowed store, to listen to a sales person's double talk and rip me off on a $200 rebate on a trade-in promotion. If you are looking to trade=in your phone for a new one go to Best Buy or some other Verizon store. The customer service here was terrible during my phone purchase. The first salesman examined my Samsung and said it was good for a trade-in deal. So I ordered a new Google Pixel. When the new Google Pixel arrived I went back to the store to hand-in in the old Samsung. However, a different sales person would not accept my old Samsung saying that small scratches on the phone made it not eligible for the trade-in. So now I am out $200!!! Also, do not buy the $11/month "Verizon" warranty they will try to sell you. I did. When I asked the salesperson if the warranty on my old Samsung would fix the scratches, he told me that warranty is from a "third party vendor" NOT from Verizon and Verizon could not get involved in warranty repairs. Next time I will purchase a warranty from Square Trade. The monthly fees are 1/2 the cost of "Verizon warranty" and the deductible is lower. Save yourself money, time, and frustration, buy your phone somewhere other than this place. read more

I feel compelled to register a complaint regarding a sales associate whose initials are SS I originally came to this store because my 5s wasn't able to connect to the Internet outside of my in home wireless. That's where SS came in. After a cursory comment, which involved no troubleshooting at all, he began his upgrade pitch. By the way this involved two phones. The pitch went something like this due to a Promo. 1. I was eligible for an upgrade to the Apple SE 2. I would be receiving a free mini IPad. I really didn't need. But, thought it would be a good gift to my grandson. 3. The plan would overall cost less than my current plan. Well.. 1. The mini will cost $26.00 extra a month even though I took the Sim Card out for two years. SS explained that my new Mini was worth 400.00. Higher Math suggests I was put on a payment plan that cost me 624.00 for my Free Mini!! 4. Apparently, I was also put on a payment plan for the other two phones as well 5. My new bill is projected to be 22.00 dollars a month more than my current. I called Verizon to discuss. They indicated that this was weird and would have SS contact me. He called, before I could explain my issues he constantly talked over me. I did ask if he was going to let me talk. He suggest I get an appointment with him. We arranged an appointment for last Sunday. After a brief meeting he handed me over to another associate (which was very helpful), because he had to work with someone else. Later, I got an email from one of the managers after 3 visits to the store because my trade-in codes never arrived. By the way, SS erroneously indicated the codes would arrive within 24-48 hours rather than the two weeks others said it would take. One of the managers took care of the credit I was due. However, I emailed her of my concern and have heard nothing from her or the store since. Through all of this SS was patronizing and placed the blame on me for not understanding the details of the "deal." After 4 visits to the store and three more phone calls I now have a more expensive plan and a Mini IPad that retails for 400.00 that now costs me 624.00. What a deal. I would not endorse this Sales Associate and will avoid his brand of customer service at all cost. This was a bad experience, that should have been an easy transaction. I am considering a,complaint with the State Consumer Protection Agency. This is my first Yelp Post. read more

Ok so I went in to give this store a second chance and they redeemed themselves. It was time for an upgrade and I went in to check my options. Mathias was the representative that helped me. He answered all my questions, he clearly explained how my bill will be affected after the changes made, he even made me feel so confident that I ended up buying a tablet as well. Just switched from Sprint to Verizon. Before doing so, I reviewed all the comments about the Coburg store almost - all were negitive. I frankly couldn't believe that service could be that poor without senior management taking some action - so I decided to give it a shot. My experience was completely different. A 10-15 minute wait, consistent with what was quoted at the door. After about 30 minutes they set up my plan, got my new phone, and I was out of there with the salesperson opening the door for me on the way out. So maybe they made the necessary improvements but from my perspective I'm rating 5 stars. read more

Went in to get my account number and the guy who helped me was completely rude and degrading. He berated me on who I'm switching to and told me that I'm not getting a better deal. It's not possible. When I finally got my account number from him (after he treated me like crap and this experience ensured me that I was making the right choice) he raised his voice to tell me he would see me back in a couple months. No matter what, I will never be back and I'm appalled that anybody would treat a customer that way. Sadly this is not my first bad experience in this store and that is what drove me to switch but it hit a new level today. Signed up for 2 devices with the Edge plan for $75 per line. Bill came out to be $187 after our trade-in credits ran out, not $150. Apparently Verizon will charge you insurance without your permission. They refunded one month of the 3 I was charged for. That's $40 Verizon stole from me. We are now being charged for additional "equipment charges" that still puts our 2 lines $20 over the $150, which we agreed to. BEWARE OF VERIZON read more

My recent Verizon bill showed an unexpected 15 dollar charge called previously unbilled data usage. When I called to ask about it they said I had gone over my 1 gb. My daughter-in-law, Claire, checked and we had only used .3 gb. When we called about it again, the woman tried to insist that I had gone over 1 gb. She explained that even if you barely go over it still charges for a whole other gb. She also said sometimes there is a small margin of error between what you used and what is says you used. Claire, told her there would certainly not be a 300% margin of error if I had only used .3 gb. That would be an unreal. The woman finally checked and said there had been a "mistake" and agreed to credit our account for the overcharge. I wonder how many other people have had this problem. We had to call twice and get a bit testy before anything was done. Somehow I got the feeling that this is a routine thing with this company. Check your bill closely, and if you don't understand it find someone who can help you other than a Verizon employee. read more

Everyone (had to go back several times because I didn't understand things) was helpful, patient, and competent. I highly recommend them. They have plenty of places to sit down while you wait. I bought a new phone at the Verizon store at Valley River, but the employee screwed up the transaction and I wasn't able to transfer my phone number to the new phone. I came to the Coburg Rd location not understanding what was going on and was so relieved that everyone here I talked to was understanding, patient, and helpful. Eventually we figured out that the VRC employee hadn't actually even gone through with the transaction and had just given me the phone without charging me for it. They were able to charge me for the phone at the Coburg location so I didn't have to go back to the VRC store, and then helped me transfer the number and set up the phone. I had such a negative experience at the VRC store but the people I worked with at the Coburg store were able to clean up the mess and get my new phone working. Thank you to everyone and I highly recommend this store to anyone anyone looking for Verizon service in Eugene! read more

You check into the store with a person standing next to the front door. Looks very efficient but I waited over an hour for service. A lot of the staff seemed to be just standing around or talking together. I think management needs to look at a different business model! If there was a minus star, that would be the one I would choose. My experience today was almost comical if I had not driven a long distance for the show. The store was empty except for the clutch of employees busy with flossing their teeth, playing with a yoyo and otherwise engaged. When I pulled one young man out of the group to help me, he reluctantly followed me to the new phones. I had questions that needed answers about specific phone that I had considered buying. We found the one I was interested in trying and he couldn't figure out why it wasn't on, so concluded it was for "display only.' When I asked him how can I know what I am getting if I can't see it. He then fumbled around till he found the magic button and he says, "oh, it does work." Then left me to join his flossing friend By then my frustration level was reached and I found a female employee who was very helpful. By then I was exhausted by the process and decided to go home and think about it. read more

I went in to upgrade my phone that had died over Memorial weekend. I bought a brand new phone on Monday and Tuesday morning my phone would not work. Less than 24 hours and nothing, it would not even turn on. I went into the Coburg Rd store and told them my situation. The manager at the store said it was cut and dry, either I pay the $35 restock fee or I get the same phone again. I explained that I did not want the same phone for the fact in less than 24 hours is would not work. I was actually going to spend more money on a different phone. He said no thats not how it goes. So I cancelled my service and the manager did nothing to keep me as a customer. A few days later I had another manager call to see what they could do to get me back and I told him he need to propose something to me. Surprise surprise, its been 3 weeks and I have heard nothing. VERIZON'S CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THEMSELVES AND BRINING IN WHATEVER MONEY THEY CAN. I WOULD NOT GO TO THE COBURG ROAD STORE EVER. Other stores may have managers and workers that care but the fact Verizon will do nothing to save a customer I will never use their service again.
