My goodness, please learn the basics of human communication, customer service, and use of proper tone when dealing with the general public. This specimen was disgusting, passive aggressive, & cowardly with a bad attitude...barging out from the back to declare that you're allowed a NYS mandated break made you look like a rude idiot. I was told to go to this location to pick up the box I ordered (to replace by broken box). My transaction was done. I just needed to pick it up. I get there and there's a line and 3 people with reps endlessly contemplating and debating which phones and services to buy. My transaction would have taken 1 minute and could have been completed while the customers were figuring out what phones or services to take. Instead, I stood there for 40 minutes before leaving (and not one customer being served had completed their transaction). I was told first come first serve--betraying no understanding of fairness or efficiency. God forbid they should multitask. People who preorder and are only going to take a minute should be taken when possible (as opposed to those who walk in, don't know what they want, and are probably going to take an hour each). Walked in to upgrade my husband's phone. Sales associate who helped us barely looked up at us, had an airpod in and was on the phone with someone, and snapped at us every time we asked a question. I had bought my own iPhone 16 from Apple and husband wanted to upgrade his 12 to a 16 through Verizon. Wow. Bought discounted AirPods max online for in store pickup. No issues picking them up. However had an issue adding AppleCare to them as they were originally purchased in may 2022 according to apple. So I asked if I can do an exchange and store rep said no problem. I can't do an exchange because 1) they don't have anymore blues and 2) the store price was not the same as the online discount price. Was told to do a refund and then buy the black ones online for store pickup. Agreed to refund and went to purchase the black ones online but discount was not there anymore. Store rep doesn't offer any alternatives and says that once she processed the refund that was it. Can't even get the blue ones back. Just looked at me and said she can't anything else for me. I am a new customer who transferred from ATT. In sum, we activated our phones the evening before. I was instructed to go to ATT store and pay off balance. I then remembered that part of the deal with Verizon was that they would pay off the device balances from ATT although that was not mentioned when we activated phones. Also, our watches and iPad devices needed to be transferred and since the port number given to facilitate such transfer was actually a number to a gay resort, I took my devices to the Garden City store. The young man was disinterested and dismissive and suggested that I return to the man, Moses, who assisted me the night before. Moses did not come in until 2:00 pm and the current time was 10:30 am. He brusquely responded to questions about the device payoff by referring to gift cards. He did not assist with my devices. He even accused me of not communicating "effectively ". Really. I left the store and went to the one in Manhasset. Upon entry, the service rep was ready and willing to help and guess who else was there? Moses. Not only did they move my devices over from ATT, they were professional and patient. What was even more interesting is that another customer in that store, left the Garden City store and came to Manhasset because of their dismissive attitude. The young man in Garden City was smug, rude, disrespectful, and lazy. I suspect that he dismissed me because I was a senior. I will never go into that store again. is there such a dearth of employees that they are permitted to deliver poor service and still remain an employee? How is this for effective communication, bub? My wife made an appointment to try to exchange the wrong phone which Verizon sent. They were supposed to send us a 14 Pro Max but they made a mistake and sent us a 14 Pro instead. First they didn't seem to want to help her because it didn't benefit them ( we were there for fix a problem which wouldn't pad their wallet. They tried to help if we get charged a restocking fee. WTF? Verizon made a mistake and sent us the wrong phone and they wanted to charge us. They eventually gave her the runaround and couldn't figure out what to do. We ended up going to the Verizon online support and they were able to help without any issue! Lesson learned don't go to this Verizon store. Online /phone support gave us the option to bring the old phone as a trade in back to the store but we rather use UPS to return it. The sales representatives at this store are liars. They upsold me on a promotion and lied about the timing of when I would receive credit. After weeks of waiting and speaking to online reps, I was told that I was given misinformation by the store reps and the timing of the credit cost me $400 out of pocket. I then returned the items within the 30 day period (after having to pay for the credit on my bill). And now I am out $400, no products, and no refund as no one at the store was able to help me and no one online has been able to help thus far. Huge thumbs down to Verizon at 880 Old Country Road in Garden CIty. They don't even deserve 1 star. I went in February to upgrade 2 phones. I was offered a free watch (with my trade in) and a second watch with $150 off. The sales person, Kaniya, advised me to wait 2 billing cycles to let all the promotions settle out. That's not what happened. I have billing issues with both watches. Per customer service the store made an error when I traded in my phones and watch. I did not receive the proper credits and am still being over charged. I went back to the store twice. Once to speak to the sales person and a second time to the manager, Bruce. Bruce spent a lot of time on the phone trying to work thing about and promised everything was fixed in mid-May. I received my next bill and have been charged even more! When I contacted Bruce again he told me he spent a lot of time on this and offered no further assistance. So now I am left to try and fight this out with customer service. Also, I tried to submit a review on their website and they have not allowed it to post. I guess they only accept positive reviews. read more

I came by to pick up my order as instructed by Verizon . The order wasn't available and instructed to confirm back . I asked if it was ok if my spouse can pick it up , Sean the assistant manager Said 'sure' . My spouse came by to attempt to pick up the order & they turned him away after waiting 25 mins. Sean failed to tell me I had to call Verizon to add him as an authorized user . This literally would have taken him a few seconds to mention and 5 minutes for me to do . So I went to Verizon. I usually dread going there, but this time was different. I'm giving 5 stars for the person who helped us. Her name is Sharelle Butler. She is one of the most pleasant people I've met in a while. You can see she loves her job by the way she offers excellent customer service. She showed us so many different phones and offered many different options. She was patient, informative, and knowledgable all around. I was with my daughter and husband. My daughter actually took her friend today to meet with Sharelle. My daughter said, again, Sharelle excels in the best customer service. It's so refreshing to meet someone who really loves their job and genuinely wants to help people. UPDATE: I purchased a new iPhone today and Zaharia S. helped me. Once again, good service. We came to this store on three separate occasions. The first time was to get a new phone via trade-in however they refused to help us without an appointment even though we were Verizon customers and there were no appointments left for the day. When we made an appointment and came back, we needed a bit of time to transfer over the content from the old phone to the new one and it would be too long to do it in the store so they told us it would not be possible to do the trade. In the end, we ordered a phone online from Verizon, took our time with the content transfer, and sent the old one back at our discretion. I went back to this store about a month later to drop off an old phone for recycling which any Verizon store is supposed to take per their website, and I spoke to every associate in the store before one agreed to take the phone rather than waste my time by telling me they didn't do that. I had such a bad experience switching over from Att&t to Verizon that I was discouraged to even visit a store. The COVID 19 situation made my experience even worse. However, I must say I am so glad I walked into the Verizon Garden City (Westbury plaza) store. Dave helped right away and was so diligent with handling my line. He helped me get a new phone and straighten my "situation" all under 45 minutes. Dave is the true example of great customer service. He was so patient, professional, friendly and understanding. Bruce, the manager, was extremely rude from the moment i came in until the moment I left. he was sarcastic, told me to do it all at home myself, and come back another day because it was close to closing with two people waiting and 5 other customers being helped in the store. i asked a question and he rolled his eyes, shrugged his shoulders and told me he has no choice, i have two people ahead of me and I'm gonna have to wait. i tried being nice and at the end he told me he doesn't know why I'm panicking, walked away and made me leave the store so they can close. now neither of my phones work and I'm already considering leaving Verizon to go back to T-Mobile and I haven't even been with the company more than 2 hours!!!! do better Verizon. I came to this Verizon to get a screen protector for my new iPhone 13 Pro Max. I didn't want to wait the 2 days for an Amazon shipment to arrive so I asked the store if they had any options. My typical Verizon store charges 20$ a screen protector and has many different case options from various price points. This place charged me $55 for a ZAGG's screen protector that is $15 on Amazon. These guys are criminal with the absurd price gouging. The gentleman that helped me was lacking in any customer service or patience whatsoever. Thieves. Bought a phone with my wife. Made it abundantly clear that we did NOT want any "extras". So what does Anthony the sales rep do? Adds a crazy-expensive purchase protection plan on without our knowledge or consent. We only found out about it after leaving the store and getting an e-mail welcoming us to the plan we'd "bought". Went back a few minutes later and of course Anthony had "just left". It was pretty clear from words and body language that nobody wanted to help us - no commission to be had - but we insisted. We were smugly told that the plan "is on your receipt", like that makes it ok to have cheated us. Turned out we never even got a receipt; thought it was in the bag which we'd left in the car, but it was not. I'm sure the lawyers say it's ok to do this. So what. Sticking extra stuff into the fine print on the electronic touchpad where you sign with your finger, thinking you are just buying the phone, and not saying a word about it being there or the cost, is LYING BY OMISSION. It's INTENTIONALLY DECEIVING THE CUSTOMER. It's UNETHICAL. But hey, anything for a buck, right? No need to be honest when the lawyers say it's ok to be a liar and a cheat. Anthony the sales rep, guess what you can do with your purchase protection plan, you lying jerk. UPDATE: I read their apology. Sadly, nothing about addressing the issue that led to it. Since they claim to be so big on trust, integrity and transparency, here are a few ideas: Post the model numbers and prices next to the phones. People like to know what they are buying and what it costs. When I ask the cost of the phone, telling me the monthly installment payment while omitting the number of months it applies is evasive and dishonest. Telling me that a phone can eventually be "upgraded to 5G", while leaving out the fact that this will require a $199 hardware add-on, is similarly dishonest. And oh yeah, demanding not only my account number but PHOTO ID before they will show me any product is intrusive and obnoxious. I have to agree with pretty much all of the previous reviewers, the service at this Verizon location is abysmal. You can come in, place your name on a list, and then stand around the store waiting for someone to call your name. I think I waited about an hour before I asked someone when my turn was coming up and they said that my name was just called and someone had already looked for me but now this other sales person would take me. The store is really small and I stayed in pretty much the same space the entire time I was waiting, so I'm not sure how they could have missed me. The salesperson I got was not very friendly or helpful. I wanted an actual breakdown of the prices for the plans when I bought the phone outright and when I paid per month. She gave me ballpark numbers the first time, and then did the same when I specifically asked for a list of the actual numbers. I wanted her to write things down for me, especially because the numbers were different than what I was told over the phone. She didn't listen, so I walked out. read more

WORST STORE ON EARTH. First, when asked what I needed , and I said a new phone, the response I got was an awful attitude "well which one". How about sell me your product. The staff proceeded to be rude and I was in the store for 3 hours due to their incompetence. My job offers an employee discount and while at the store they verified through their management and told me it should kick in after 2 billing cycles. Needless to say when I called after 3 months the person on the phone told me that it was impossible with the plan I had, and had to switch me to the correct plan which is overall $40 a month less. I would definitely recommend this Verizon store. The representative Sully was a great help and very courteous. I previously went to the Verizon store to which is 5 miles from me in Five Towns. I received my new iPhone upgrade, was instructed to go home and pair it with my old phone and everything would transfer over once I uploaded the necessary transfer. After doing so, every time my phone rang it showed "No Caller ID", and this was for ppl in my favorites and contacts. I went back explain my issue and was told it was an Apple issue. I then went to Apple and was told it was an Verizon issue. I became frustrated with the back and fourth and decided let me try another Verizon location. This is how I ended up at this store. As soon as I explained my dilemma to Sully he stated it sounds as if it's a SIM card issue. Once he removed the previous SIM card and placed a new one in, he had my husband call me who is listed in my favorites, and immediately his name appeared as opposed to no caller id. Also keep in mind this was a brand new phone!! I feel every Verizon employee should be on the same page with the same knowledge and training. read more
