I'm absolutely disgusted by the lack of signal and service I have on my iPhone. I don't pay $100s of dollars a month for mediocre service. Verizon you're number 1 on my shit list right now as my stress grows and grows as the night goes on and I am without cell service. I went to this store yesterday and stood at the front door for approximately 8 minutes before anyone acknowledged my presence. There were 5 workers on the floor that kept looking at the door and saw customers piling up but didn't even greet us. There were two operating stations where 3 employees were assisting one customer and the other station had 2 employees helping an elderly lady who was proving her personal info (checking account number and SSN) ON SPEAKER PHONE to a customer representative. Then once they were done with the elderly lady three people walked her out to her car still ignoring all other customers. They all retuned inside went to the other station and had the two employees that were standing there follow them into a back room. Another 5 minutes went by and a host came out and began to greet customers but began to tell everyone they had 1hr-2 hr waits when we just observed all the employees just leave the floor. I've been to this location the previous year when Covid was at its height and the customer service was outstanding. Todays experience was bad but I have service with the company and returned today at opening to give them another opportunity to do right and again was told it would be an hour wait with two other customers in the store with employees appearing to be aloof and standing around. It was clear that they don't care about the money customers are bringing forth for the holiday season. Went the the Verizon store in portage and had a terrible experience so I decided to go to this one instead and we ended up getting to the store 30 mins before close. Needed a new phone because my girlfriend destroyed hers. When we walked in we were instantly greeted by Jacob? I can't remember his name for sure but he was the most helpful guy I could have gotten. He got us all set and out the door in under 15 mins even including two hiccups in the purchase process. Most helpful person I could have ever hoped for. First, let me get it out of the way that Team VP loves Verizon as a telecommunications carrier. They have never failed us. We also love their customer service at their 800 number. Over the years the local Verizon stores have sold us damaged phones, given us incorrect information and had all around incompetent sales reps that the 800 number customer service people have turned around and fixed every single problem without hesitation. We love Verizon. Yesterday Team VP decided we were ready to upgrade our very old iPhone 6s's to iPhone 11s. First I called Verizon 800 number customer service and asked all my questions so I knew exactly what we needed and what promotions we were not eligible for. I also called the store to make sure they had the iPhone 11 in stock. My call to the store is where my annoyance with the store started. I asked the sales rep if he had any iPhone 11s in stock and he said "probably". I laughed, thinking he was joking and asked if he was kidding. He said that he thought he had a few in the back but that he was not sure exactly, but we could come in and figure it out. I then asked if he could confirm for me what sizes he had in stock and he actually sounded irritated when he asked me to "hold on". As I was not asking him to go in the back and build me an iPhone I did not think my request was strange, so I waited. The store had what we needed so we headed off knowing Mr. MVP would be taking charge of this transaction as Mr Verizon and I had already butted heads. When we got to the store there were at least five employees and three of them seemed to be standing and doing nothing. There was also a line and we were third and the store was busy. My theory is the longer people wait the more accessories they purchase. After we waited 30 minutes the gentleman who "helped" us tried to up sell us cases "bundled" for (I think) $50 each which is ridiculous because before we had even left the store we had placed an order on Amazon for two cases for less than $35. No sooner had MVP politely declined the cases the Verizon store gentlemen had very slickly had screen protector sitting out by the phone boxes and he very casually mentioned them in the total cost. Thankfully Mr. MVP was paying close attention and told Verizon Man we did not need them because we would have ended up buying overpriced accessories on accident. The next two uncomfortable phone buying events happened in tandem. Mr. MVP had wiped his phone and was ready to trade his phone in right there. We asked if I should wipe my phone there and the Verizon Guy said no he would give us a box and we could mail it. We agreed. Next we wanted to pay cash for both phones and he tried to talk us into financing both of them because it was the smarter choice. We declined and wanted to pay outright. We moved all our stuff to the second table to finish our business and everything got suddenly complicated. Mr. Verizon forgot I wanted to mail my phone in (even after a short lecture from him about lost photos of dead mothers when people wipe their phones in the store) and he acted annoyed when we asked if he could change it in his system - "I'll need to start the whole process over again, but fine." Again, we were then told Dave Ramsey would think financing the phones was a wiser decision and he asked again if we wanted to do that instead of paying cash. Side note - Dave Ramsey does not condone financing just because it is at 0%. Ramsey believes if you cannot afford something you should not buy it which is why his slogan is "where cash is king". I could not hold my tongue any longer and firmly told the Verizon Man that he was wrong about Dave Ramsey and we were paying cash. He tried to backup his assertion with made up facts and I ignored him. After over two hours in the store we finally had our new iPhones and were on our way. Verizon stores are hit and miss and unfortunately for us they are way more miss. They are a necessary evil in the change of Apple technology when we want to upgrade our devices. Otherwise we stick to calling Verizon 800 customer support where we have never had a bad experience. read more

I stopped by the store to activate my phone and I was told I needed an appointment. The first available appointment was 3 days later at 4 pm. I arrived at 3:50 today and was told they were on 2 hour wait and they might not see me before they close. I told them I have an appointment and they said that the best they can do is put me on the phone with customer service. Why did Verizon send me away when I didn't have an appointment and then send me away when I did have an appointment? I just switched here from AT&T and will be switching away as soon as I can. So, after years of being behind the curve as far as phones, it was finally time to get some upgrades. So we decided to head here to get some newer phones to use, and this place went ahead and went above and beyond what they needed to do to save some very precious memories. We got a guy by the name of Josh to help us figure out what we wanted to do with our phones and our plans- as it turned out, he helped us to find a way that not only could we get a bigger data plan for cheaper than what we were paying, but that we could get phones with bigger memories (when you've kept having to shuffle around apps and games on a 16GB phone, having enough space and then some is kind of overwhelming) for a lot cheaper than we thought, well... it was worth coming in. Then Josh walked us through getting everything off of S's old phone and backed up to the cloud so she wouldn't end up losing Where this place really earned its stripes is when S believed she lost hundreds of pictures of her daughter after having them backed up at the store- so she called Josh and he'd replied that they had not deleted the data and stored memory off her old phone, but that they would be happy to have her come in the next day and download all the pictures off her old phone if they didn't show up in cloud storage by the next morning- which they did, thankfully enough. The staff at this store is amazing!! No high-pressure overkill, just help. And help based on our needs, not what current sale they were promoting. We've learned a lot over the years and can't praise our salesperson, Zach O., enough! He helps us through the "techy stuff" we don't completely understand.....without making us feel like we are "ol' folks out of touch!" I feel like hebreally cares about US and not just sell, sell, SELL!!!!!!! This store makes us realize when we stick with Verizon, and particularly this store. Kudos to Kristopher at this store. Finally got fed up with AT&T and wanted to get a smart phone. He has deep knowledge (as evidenced by other colleagues enlisting his help), listens to your questionsand concerns and answers them. Some staff at this store don't listen to what you ask but explain everything else except what you need to know! I ended up returning the cheap LG android phone and got a basic Iphone. Already feel better with the apple stuff and fewer aps I don't want. I'll see how it goes but ask for Kristopher! Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is coverage issues with Verizon. read more

I have never been treated more rudely by a store manager in my life! I tried for over a week to take advantage of a promotion Verizon was offering. I couldn't find the answers on the website so I stopped in the store. I was told I needed an appointment to talk to anyone at the store. I went home and tried the online chat. After waiting over two hours for the online person to answer the chat I gave up and made an appointment in the store. The first person helping me knew nothing and handed me over to the store manager. I was told the promotion ended yesterday and I was out of luck. I explained I started this process over a week ago and Verizon is at fault for not being able to help me. He said there was nothing he could do. I asked to speak to someone else and he said he was the manager and no one else could tell me anything different. I asked again for someone else to talk to. I explained again this is not my fault. I said it is obviously that Verizon doesn't care about their customers and the store manager agreed. He gave me a piece of paper with several numbers on it. I asked for his name at least 8 times. He kept saying why do you want my name? What are you going to do with that information? No one else is going to help you. I asked again for him to write his name on the paper he gave me. He scribbled something that isn't readable and threw the piece of paper at me. I said did you really just throw that at me? He said if I continue that I will need to leave. His name tag said Walter. Is Verizon really training their store managers that they really can do nothing for their customers, accuse their customers of lying, throwing paper at their customers and basically kicking them out of the store?! I realize losing my business to a giant company like Verizon means nothing but word of mouth is powerful. Never again will I step foot in a Verizon store.
