This was hands down one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had--anywhere, not just at Verizon. I want to personally recognize Jay (manager) and Royal for going above and beyond in every way possible. I came in after dealing with a frustrating situation over the phone where nothing was getting resolved. Within minutes of working with them, everything changed. They were patient, knowledgeable, and most importantly--they actually cared. They took the time to understand my situation, walked me through everything clearly, and made sure every single issue was handled properly. No rushing, no shortcuts--just real, professional service. Xfinity customer service is the worst. Went to change over from att service. First off we had to pay over 2k to unlock phones,fine I get that but when they tell you the apple phone is the easiest to change over and you don't have service for 11 days.to top it off it's my 15 yeolds phone and she's not taking it well. Between my wife and I we have spent over ten hours in the store only to gear that we have to wait days again. Terrible I don't recommend 5hem at all. After a horrible review explaining the problems that my wife and I have had constantly over the last 8 months, the store manager requested that I come in for the staff to fix my phone. After 2 hours in store, I left with a paperweight, aka non-working phone. After leaving the store, I googled how to fix the problems, and solved the issues, but the store specialist was unable to solve them. The store's current solution is to send me a replacement phone, that I should receive in 2 to 5 business days. No other solution, compensation for the problems, issues, or headache provided by this store has been offered. read more

Arrived at the Verizon store at 7:30 PM and was already closed. Drove 30 minutes to get here. Hours of operation says on the website and states 8pm on Monday. If you close at 7:30pm change the time! I normally hate dealing with phone upgrades and plan changes. I was dreading this like always when I went in just to inquire about pricing assuming I wouldn't be able to afford it right now. Jessica is one of the nicest most helpful people I've ever encountered at a cell phone store. I didn't once feel like she was trying to scam me into purchasing things which is typically how I feel because I hate confrontation. She easily picked up on the fact that I didnt have good past experiences and was so incredibly helpful and transparent during the entire process. I ended up walking out with new phones for both my husband and I and even new watches as well. And I didn't feel bad about it like I'd been talked into something. It was genuinely a good deal and her and I walked through every possible scenario to make sure what I was getting would be affordable. She was so incredibly patient going back and forth every time I inquired about something new or asked to make changes which sent her into the back multiple times. She made a mistake swapping numbers on our new phones which normally would have made me so upset (because basically anything inconvenient makes me upset) but I didn't even care because she genuinely made the entire experience comfortable for me that I was able to accept that people are just human and they make mistakes. It was an easy fix. I can honestly say that I would return to work with her in a heartbeat if I needed anything. read more

I recently switched to Verizon and had to go to the Lake in the Hills store to pick and activate my phone. Worst customer service EVER! The manager (Jesse) of the store literally told me that since I made my purchase online, his store was not being paid commission and he could not honor any of the promotions. The manager (Jesse) also would not take my old phones saying that I would only get $100 if I returned at the store versus getting $800 if I shipped it myself. Basically, if they don't make the commission then they can care less for the customer. I have never been treated this poorly anywhere else. The manager (Jesse) was also incredibly unprofessional by saying that the online service doesn't know what they're doing and totally bashing his own company and peers. The fact that the Lake in the Hills is a corporate store still blows my mind. If this is the service you get from a corporate location....what does it mean for other stores. Corporate should really look at the low reviews for this location and take formal action regarding changes to the leadership of the site. No customer should go through the experience that I had...specially being a new customer. It definitely setup a terrible first impression. This is something that can be corrected with good training, ethical and professional skills, and a genuine care for customers. read more

Been a customer for 10+ years... Sent my husband in for a cheap replacement phone... Only a phone. We had just talked and changed our phone plan not even a week before so we didn't want any phone plan changes JUST A PHONE! Well he got the cheap phone plus an additional insurance program that cost more than the phone does per month but was assured he should just cancel that within 12 days and guess what????? They changed our phone plan without explanation or approval from us. We got an email explaining it was changed. Horrible place obviously would do anything and change or charge you anything for their commission... Do yourself a favor go to Costco right behind them and save the hassle. read more

They did it again, rush me out the store because they were too busy to attend to my needs. I received a replacement phone called tech support for help activating and transferring data from one phone to another. I did not receive the SIM card with my replacement phone and it told me to go to the store and get one. When I got to the store they told me they could not help me they handed me a piece of paper on how to transfer data and they told me they could not give me a SIM card without activating it and which essentially meant they would not be able to give me a SIM card. I left frustrated and called Tech Support at Verizon. they essentially said they have a lot of problems with the stores providing bad information apologize profusely and offered assistance. If you need to use Verizon go to the Crystal Lake store, I've always had good luck with them. read more

After receiving deplorable customer service at the Crystal Lake store, we received outstanding service here! There was a bit of a wait, being the Saturday before Christmas with several promotions going on. We were promptly greeted and asked for our information to be put in a queue. Customer service/sales representative South took care of us; he was friendly when he greeted us and clearly knowledgeable about products, offers, etc. He answered questions politely and, while eager to recommend products or options, he was never pushy. When my boyfriend had a question about a set of headphones, South took the time to track down another employee (a manager, I believe) who had personal experience utilizing the ones my boyfriend was considering so that he could ask more specific questions. sUNDAY was very hot and humid day in July. I went into this store with questions abt transferring my data from flip phone to smartphone. The checkin guy was EXCELLENT with attentiveness, and sensitivity to how long I'd been waiting. Another associate asked me if I would like a bottle of water while I was waiting. Heck yes! That was a real nice gesture and a bonus on a hot day. The guy who checked me in then took my questions, and offered a lot of positive information about getting a class for first-time smartphone users. Had a great experience upgrading my Iphone 6S for a 7 Plus at this store thanks to a very patient Verizon representative Royal. Royal made this process easy and got my phone looking exactly like it did before the upgrade. I even saved some money on monthly payments and he explained how much of a data plan I needed based on years of bill history. I would definitely ask for him if you go there. read more

OHHHHH my gosh, worst customer service experience ever!!! Came in with my friend, knew exactly what the deal with her account (upgrade) was and what phone we wanted. The man who greeted us was friendly and pleasant, even joked about being an iPhone user (we wanted an android). He then passed us to a woman (i assume hes the manager so gave us to the sales associate). She was very rude, not pleasant, and didn't seem to know much when asked questions about another phone. It was understandable that they didn't have the color phone we wanted but we walked out with a sour taste in our mouths due to her horrible customer service. I know a few things about customer service and will tell your that these folks knock it out of the PARK. I don't know their history or what some other employees have been like, but Adrian takes care of business and I've not met a rude employee there yet. Yes, it was busy on a Sunday night, but they now have some kind of concierge who greets you, and jots your name down on a tablet, so you can be helped when someone is available. That's a nice innovative idea. The guy there was knowledgeable about the Windows 8 phone, even though he preferred Androids. Answered all our questions. The other customers were kind of creepy, but that's not their fault. The only complaint I have, and this is with Verizon and most other companies, is their obsessive need to tack on accessories. We renewed 2 lines, got 2 new phones, and then we're still being nickle and dimed for ridiculously overpriced faceplates, screen protectors, and everything else. read more

First of all, this place isn't really closed, it's just been relocated to the old Blockbuster building. These people will blatantly LIE to you in order to sell you a phone. I once asked our salesman if the iPhone I was holding really took the pictures that were on the display model. He answered slyly, "It can take pictures like that, yeah." I see what you did there. I later found out the high-res images on the display model were NOT actually taken by the iPhone. It's aways incredibly busy. There is always some problem or another that pops up. We tried to get approval for a discount from a change in employment - didn't have the exact paperwork they needed (and the reason a W-2 isn't good enough is...?) I wanted the iPhone gold 32gb - sold out, only 16gb left. I could come back in two days - but wait, I can't come back without the account policy holder present. Can I try out the 16gb for 30 days to see if it's enough memory then? Oh, sure - but there'll be a restocking fee. KILL ME! Stay away from this place. read more
