I did find another store that would service iPhone8's but their price was substantially higher than the price at Batteries Plus MONDAY - Scheduled an appointment for replacement of a battery in an iPhone. Got an email confirming my appointment. I arrived at the appointed time and was told that they didn't have a technician on Monday and couldn't do the battery replacement. In their defense (at least partially), they did try calling an hour before my appointment but their call was blocked by my call-blocking software. Warning - don't rely on their email confirmations. TUESDAY - I made an appointment and returned the next day. The technician (assistant manager) was prepared and had the replacement battery at the counter - ready to install. He said the installation would take 30-45 minutes. I returned 45 minutes later and the installation was complete. Very satisfied with their service Friendly staff, good service, fair price.

Problem: they don't carry Virgin Mobile any more. The company, Sprint, decided to place VM in big box stores exclusively, defeating the very purpose I selected it--for stores like this. Instead I went to that toxic, national embarrassment known as Wal Mart, and predictably hilarity ensued--I couldn't authorize the phone--so I came here a second time, resolved on switching over to Sprint's other no-contract company, Boost. For the second time I was peeved at the place. But it wasn't their fought. Because Virgin and Booth are the same company, if I was to keep my number I couldn't have the sale price. About this time my Irish temper was about to explode. Nicely, the clerk here, did me a solid. He took my phone and called his contacts to find the problem. This became a ordeal, and he did it with out no payment or possible sale at all. Meanwhile he was helping customers, taking phone calls, and juggling phones. Eventually he discovered the problem which was that I was boned. Wal Mart did something wrong, and it would take a total redo of my account, loss of credit in it, and another phone number. No thanks. But doing what the clerk did is why I love this place. There was no reward for this kind of help, but he did it anyways. Five stars. I am thinking of just paying full price, or going with another number to switch over because of great service like this.

Today, Mom needed a new phone, and Sweetie recommended this location. It's pretty new, though this mall has been here for a couple of years now so I'm surprised this hasn't been reviewed yet. But, she recommended it because it's not busy, so that kinda makes sense. We got excellent service, and friendly attitudes for an older user and a bored toddler. Lots of recommendations for what to do nearby (distractions, and food.) News on area businesses (the closed bagel shop, the old Russian deli, the much-missed bookstore.) Prices seemed reasonable (for cell stuff.) No hard sell; she got what she wanted. I'll keep this in mind for accessories and maybe new phones. Still best to go to corporate stores for technical issues, I think, though these guys could at least do some triage and point you in the right direction.
