I went to the Newington Verizon store with a friend who has severe memory problems. She couldn't find her phone so she decided to get a new one. Our customer service person was Ethan P. What an incredible young man. His patience was never-ending, his knowledge was extensive and his personality was warm, engaging and appropriately humorous. I unfortunately have to keep going to this store because they're the only ones who happen to have the phone I want every few years whenever I need a new one. Super unhelpful, they want you to do everything yourself now. But boy if they are trying to make a sale, then they're your new best friend. I ordered my phone online for pick up in store because I didn't feel like having to deal with them trying to sell me the latest and greatest iPhone and so I show up and they're like here you go, activate it at home. Um, what??? Sorry but if I'm getting a phone, you better believe they're taking care of everything in store. They also are incorrect about phone setups with Sim cards too because both me and my husband had to call into Verizon on each others phones for assistance because they did it incorrectly. I visited the Verizon store on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington, CT and was very fortunate to have Leticia assist me as she usually spends more time at the Verizon store at Westfarms. She was great! She was personable, professional, knowledgeable and got the job done in an efficient manner. My new Verizon iphone that I purchased online would not operate properly as the sim card that it came with did not function and I needed a new one. Leticia patiently and efficiently diagnosed the issue and resolved it. She worked with my for about 45 minutes to make sure all issues were resolved. Now that is excellent customer service! I had a decent experience at this store. None of the techs were phenomenally friendly, but they were helpful and got the job done. My only gripe is that many of them weren't as knowledgeable as I thought they could be. For instance, none of them knew if the new HTC 11 was going to be sold by Verizon (it isn't). I suppose they shouldn't be required to have knowledge of phones they don't sell, but since they sold all previous models of the HTC one, I would assume they'd at least know if this one was being sold by them or not. The sales reps are very patient and I never felt rushed or pressured, even when they started offering me accessories. Overall, it was exactly the experience you'd expect from buying a phone. I wouldn't go out of my way to shop at this specific Verizon, but I also wouldn't go out of my way to avoid it. read more

I dropped my phone and broke it so took it in to this Verizon store on the Berlin Tnpk in Newington. Can't say enough about the quaiity of service and the friendliness of the people there. Have not had this experience at other Verizon stores. Go here for quick and competent service. One of the reps I worked with was Clara and she couldn't have been better. read more

I updated my phones / plan a couple years ago at this establishment! I am one that likes modern technology so I pay my bills on the phone, very easy and up with the times as my kids would say. I come to find out I have been paying for Navigator all this time, something I never authorized. I made several calls to Verizon and at best I was bounced around from one person to the other! End result they basically told me I should have caught it on my first statement! Lesson learned on my part don't trust these guys as I am not the only one with issues such as this! I was told I am screwed there is nothing they can do, twelve years with this provider and kicked to the curb like an empty bottle. read more

My experience at this store was BY FAR the worst customer relations nightmare in my almost 40 years of life. I thought it would be a very nice Christmas present for my wife if we FINALLY after almost 5 years since getting her iPhone 5c got an upgrade. I found a GREAT deal online (for this weekend only) for an iPhone 7 256GB in rose gold for $20/ month. That comes out to $480! That's the only GOOD thing that we experienced. I made the online "purchase" (really only a reservation) for the phone on the 30th, called to confirm on the 1st, and was told that we were all set to pick it up on the 2nd. When we arrived on the 2nd, we waited 45 minutes just to be told that there was a "glitch" in their computer system that wouldn't allow them to make the transaction complete, or cancel the order and that we'd have to wait 3-4 days for it to self cancel! I'm no IT pro, so we had to take their word for it. We went home with no phone, and proceeded to call customer service. Due to the busy time of year they said they'd call us back in a few hours to try to resolve the issue. Almost immediately after we hung up with them, the Newington store called back, and MIRACULOUSLY, the issue had been resolved. In the meantime, Verizon called us back and proceeded to tell us that they couldn't help us because this was TECHNICAL SUPPORT, not customer service and that she would have to hold for 30 minutes just to speak to someone. Totally unacceptable. Now, we couldn't just drop everything and leave at that exact moment with a 2 year-old in mid nap, so my wife went back by herself to the stores. That's where it gets worse. When she arrived, she waited almost 20 minutes to be helped (mind you, we waited 45 minutes earlier in the day), and they essentially handed her the new phone and said "here you go"! She thought there would be some help with setting it up and getting it to work. Wrong, wrong, WRONG AGAIN!! Just a not-so-helpful salesmen Cliff or Clayton, I don't really remember, and a less helpful manager named Chris who conveniently was "on lunch" at 3:00 pm when my wife initially returned. When he did finally show up again, Chris was more interested in talking with his buddy than helping his customers. At this point, my wife was literally almost in tears, and a young woman working there recognized her from our first trip to the store and finally helped her every step of the way to set up her phone and MADE SURE everything transferred over. This was only after my wife got in her car and tried to call me to tell me the horrendous experience just to find out, Chris and Cliff NEVER activated the phone even though they said she was "all set". I went in to see about connecting a tablet to my service and was told I needed to purchase a jetpack and add a line. Come to find out from a coworker I could just use my hotspot when needed. Now when I call Verizon about this there will be an early termination fee to cancel this line because it is on a 2 yr contract. I've been with Verizon for years but it just might be time to find another provider if I can't trust I'm getting the best advice. read more

Every time I go to this store 9 out of 10 times the customer service is horrible. That's the only way to describe it. The only thing is I thought maybe all verizon stores were like this. However, I went to the verizon store in West Farms mall (16 Westfarms Mall, Space E-116, Westfarms, Farmington, CT 06032) and the workers there are fantastic. They were so helpful that I came back there 4 more times within a week so they can help me with all the problems that this Berlin Tpke store could not fix. My mom, who doesn't speak English well, went to this store twice so they could help her with her phone. The first time she went, they said she needed a new phone and that they couldn't fix the problem. She tried a second time because I told her that should not be the case and they just told her to do a software update-to go to a Panera, get wifi and update the phone. However, that was impossible to do because the problem was the storage so nothing got fixed. I finally took my mom's phone and went to the west farms store and guess what, the problem was fixed within minutes and they were so helpful. I just don't understand why this store does not train their people well. There is never any consistency and I always leave in such a bad mood because of the way this store handles its customers. So if you have any issues or questions, please don't hesitate to go to west farms. They will take care of you way better than this store. I mean the terrible customer service at this store just made me write a review, which I never do.
