Came here for the geek squad due to my computer being corrupted from a windows update. Besides my frustration in losing everything I was able to get my computer up and running again. I did purchase the geek squad protection and happy I did because the service and work that was done to my computer to simply reboot, reinstall and upload all the systems would've cost me around $400 read more

Since the Best Buy in my area closed, it was a pleasure to walk through the Best Buy in Newington. It was fun to be able to peruse the aisles again for the newest electronic equipment. They had less merchandise and minimal selection compared to my local store. The store was clean and organized. There was plenty of parking available. There were many sales associates at the front of the store, but not that many distributed throughout the various departments. The prices have definitely increased, but comparatively speaking Best Buy is still competitive. read more

Pretty consistently, items aren't labeled with their real prices. Today, I grabbed an item that was marked $34.99. At the register, it rang up as $87.99. This has happened all 3 times I've been to this store; then I'm left with the options to either just eat the cost, or say "Wait, I don't think that is correct" and come across like a Karen-- as well as holding up the line. And there's ALWAYS a line, because they have like no employees. The check-out stations are never even manned; they direct everyone to customer service, which means that people with complicated returns or whoneed support are in the same line as people who just have an item to buy. Guys-- we are supposed to hate Amazon, right? Shop in real brick and mortar stores? There's a reason all the real stores are folding. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Customer service has gotten worse, much worse, since I last came to this location about 3 years ago. Went in to grab a phone mount for my car. According to the app, it was in stock. I looked where they had other phone accessories, and the slot where it should be was empty. So, I went to customer service, waited in line for almost 10 minutes while watching several employees in different locations within eyesight, just standing around not doing a thing. When it was finally my turn, I was told they would be in the car accessories section. Meanwhile, my bf reserved on through their kiosk, and would be ready in 14 minutes (in case it was in their stockroom). We get to the section, and there was none to be found. Luckily, an employee (probably the only one who knew what he was doing and actually working) was coming out of the stockroom, so we asked him if they had any more items I was looking for. He informed us that he just brought it up to customer service. We get back up front, and saw at least 8 people in line. I wasn't about to wait in that line, so I went to the register area where 2 employees were just standing around not doing a thing, and asked if they could grab it for me, cause we could see the item from where we were. The woman informed me that all the registers were closed (3 hours before closing) and that I'd have to wait in the CS line anyway. And yes, I did count how many employees were just standing around, and not helping the one person behind the customer service line. As the line got longer. Unacceptable. read more

I wish I could rate this company with ZERO stars. Be careful.... they have a scam going in which you pay no interest for a period of time, then if you haven't paid for your purchase in full by a certain date, they slam you with charges that none of the representatives I've spoken to can explain to me. I've reported Best Buy to the Better Business Bureau for fraudulent charges.... My most recent summary shows an interest charge of $510.80 which I will not be paying. I spoke to a representative on the phone who tried to make sense of this scam regarding a promotional period that was clearly NOT explained to me. Absolutely ridiculous! I called again- nothing. I emailed them FOUR times- nothing. I tried that "online" conversation when a robot tries to help you with the disputed charges- nothing. I will never do business at Big Buy again. I will also be using social media to its maximum capacity, in order to communicate this scam to the public. He complained about how narrow the front entrance of our home was and didn't take the time to speak with us about options. He was argumentative and very standoffish. Black Friday- Store wasn't that busy at 9:30pm. We were purchasing a very large tv-we asked if we could have assistance in carrying the TV however store associate said just to drag it to the line(which was empty). Ok-we bring it to the cashiers and the associate said we had to walk through the long maze of appliances "just to make sure no one was actually in line before us". After checking out, there was no help to bring the TVs to the car....although there were about 8 store associates standing around near the door. Unfortunately I will never be going back to this Best Buy, fortunately I have family that live close that were able to come and help me load the TV into the car but getting family out of bed on Thanksgiving night has never/will never happen again. I've never experienced such disrespectful customer service after spending over $500. read more

Horrible service, high prices and terrible communication. Went there to switch my ram and nvme from my laptop, simple enough. Boy it was not. I had the wrong ram (thought my laptop had 2 slots, just 1 slot is modifiable). Wanted to buy one stick that is good enough in that case. They had one in store but couldn't find it, so ordered online to deliver at my place for the next day, and I will have to go back. Told me to leave the laptop and come back the next day with the ram. Got a notification that my order will be delayed by 6 days. I tried to cancel it. No can do. I then went online to buy it at the store where my laptop is for pick up. Instead of me going there, was trying to get them to just give them the item to the desk next to them. NO ONE IN THAT STORE PICKS UP THE PHONE. The support on the phone couldn't reach them, I couldn't reach them, nothing. So now, my laptop and the ram that needs to be installed in it are sitting, literally a couple of feet from each other for absolutely no reason. I would need to go there to get it sorted. Less than 3 weeks ago I bought 2 laptops for $1000 each, then a couple of days after my two week period had passed they lower the price by $200. I stopped by the store but the manager refused to make any adjustments, even a partial one, since I was passed the 2- week period. Not a good move if they wanted to keep a regular customer. Most other business allow a 30-day period for returns or adjustments. He was able to override the system, but chose not to do so, even as a goodwiill gesture. So they got to keep my $400, but they lost my business. read more

I've gotten a lot of different things from here over the last year or two only time it's a little rough is after 7 pm but they are closing and you gotta skip the curbside pick up. Any time I've had to go inside I've been greeted at the door and asked if i needed help finding something and they always grab what i needed take it to the counter and get me on my way. Its great! In the most antisocial introvert you will ever meet soo if you can get me my stuff and get me out asap I'm happy. The manager Phil does a great job keeping up with everyone ive seen him every time ive gone in there he is a nice guy. Its my favorite best buy. read more

One of the few places around were you can still buy a physical CD. Although the selection of music available for purchase at the store has dwindled in recent years due to the numerous on line options available for music purchase, they still have a good selection of CDs. As their music selection has decreased Best Buy has increased the amount of home electronics and appliances they sell. I have purchased several electronic devices here and I have never had a problem. For the most part the sales people are fairly knowledgeable about the products they sell. read more

a Samsung refrigerator was purchased for my home before Christmas and the whole experience has been the worst. first, they couldn't organize their delivery schedule and it took 2 try's to get it into the house. after it was installed, the machine is defective. it doesn't hold temp and since its under warranty i wanted a replacement. its also too big. i was told no problem. lets return the old one, since its defective anyway and get you the one you want. just pick out a new one and call back. I've called the so called geek squad more times than i care to admit now and every time its something else. they said i have to pay the difference. i did. they said i didn't (btw were is my 21 dollars?). they canceled the appointment for today which has a very cool window of 7 am to 7 pm. I wait around all morning and finally call and find out no new fridge is coming. every step of the way I've been met with incompetence or down right snide mockery. (I'm looking at the manager i spoke to today, 1/13/24 at 12:20 pm). i was in store trying to explain myself and my situation since talking to the geek squad is suicide inducing. i wanted to see about getting a fridge that worked and one that fits my space better but when i said i wouldn't be purchasing the bogus extended warranty she laughed at me and said i was stupid not to because I'm having problems with the current machine. problems that started out of the box not 5 years from now. anyway. between secretly canceled appointments and an inability to process a simple return and exchange i would suggest not buying appliances from best buy ever. read more

Just went in looking for a tv, and of the 20 salespeople standing around chatting, not one seemed to have time to help me with questions. 20 minutes later, someone finally has time to help, points out that the model I wanted is out of stock, then shows me "comparable models" that happen to be twice the price or more. Then I realized what my problem was: if you aren't there to spend at least $1k, Best Buy could care less about you. I'm writing this review for my Stepdad who does have Yelp installed. His words: "I ordered a TV to be delivered to my house on June 16th. We waited all day for the TV. Finally at 8pm I heard a knock on the door. To my surprise, it was an unknown neighbor delivering my TV to me which had been dropped off at the completely wrong address. If it were not for the honesty of these neighbors, I would be out a brand new 40" Samsung TV. Your delivery system is broken. I'm not pleased and will likely purchase all electronics at the PC Richard's store where I can receive quality customer service. Yeah most of the reviews are pretty on point . It's todays sales force, young kids who have no real clue how important the customer is . They make minimum wage so you get minimum service . I bought a 65 inch TV from them only because I wanted the TV today , and Walmart was sold out. The kid said if i didn't stand the box up right he couldn't help me pit it in my car. However they had no problem taking my money . If thats the policy then maybe the company should have a "WAIVER" the customer can sign. Btw the guys at Walmart had no problem helping me put the 55 inch TV i bought the day before in and taking it out when I returned it to get the bigger one. Anyway , the kid looked a bit frail so I put it in myself . Luckily the TV weighs 30 pounds, not a big deal . Lots of staff there not sure why . Check this one out. I bought a Surface Pro from Best Buy last July. Something wasn't right with the charging process for quite some time... I could jiggle the cord and the light would illuminate. I could charge this way until finally the light on the charger just would not light up at all. I decided to take it to geek squad since it was still on 1 yr Manufacturer's warrantee... BAD MOVE. The guy from Geek Squad checked my charger and then took a smaller charger to test the light when connected to my Surface Pro. I asked why he was using a smaller charger and he told me "it didn't matter what size charger we used to charge.. the light should still come on" if the computer is working. I could not understand why he just wouldn't use the correct charger. Anyway the light on the small charger did not come on. Now he said it was definitely the computer and they had to send it out to the manufacturer for testing. He sent it out and I was without my surface pro for over 3-1/2weeks. When I finally got an appointment with Geek Squad when it came back they told me that the manufacturer found nothing wrong with my computer. IT WAS THE CHARGER THAT WAS BAD!!!! The guy at Geek Squad said he was sorry but the charger is not under warranty... only the computer is... even though they are sold together. I HAD TO BUY A $90 CHARGER after all this... not even a discount or a coupon for their mistake!! NOTHING for my inconvenience and lost work time... It is a partially fabricated narrative made by a woman who got called out after calling the man she mentions in her story the n-word, but it is told under the guise of being a victim. Since hub's laptop decided to hit the bricks after being accidentally knocked down to the floor from the bed, we headed over to Best Buy for a replacement. When we arrived we were greeted promptly by the employee standing at the kiosk located between the entrance and exit doors. We made our way to the computers department and within a minute of arriving there we found a laptop similar (but a bit better) to the old one with a really nice price tag. About a minute later one of Best Buy's "computer specialist" (I guess it would be an appropriate term) came over to see how we were doing and assist us. We pointed out the one we really like and the specialist noticed that since there was only one box of that model left on the floor, he informed us that he will go to the back to get us another one that haven't been sitting out. How thoughtful! Unfortunately, there weren't anymore left, but still we got the last one! As we were being rung out, of course, we were given the whole spiel about the protection plans for the laptop. I understand it's a business and they have a partnership with Geek Squad, et cetera, et cetera. But the good thing was it was not being crammed down our throats to get the protection plan but something for us to consider and that we were not obligated to buy it. Since hubs is known to be a bit klutzy (oh boy I hope he doesn't see this!) we decided to get the two year plan. It made sense for us to have it. With the plan, it included Geek Squad support and even cleaning out all the unnecessary programs that comes with the computer (you know, all those trial softwares). So after we purchased the computer we brought it over to the Geek Squad desk to leave it for the night for them to remove all the unnecessary stuff. We were given paperwork with the estimate that the computer will be ready at noon the next day. Ok, good enough for us. The next day, though, our computer was not ready by noon but at 5:00 pm. A minor inconvenience but it didn't throw our whole day off. When we went to pick up the computer, the Geek Squad "agent" took the computer out of the packaging, turned it on for us and noted everything that was removed and what they did, etc. He made sure that we were satisfied and all our questions were resolved before he sent us on our way with hub's shiny new toy. Overall (if you don't want to read my long review): -wonderful, professional service -questions we had were answered to our satisfaction -explanations were clear -no pressure into buying protection plan The only thing was that Geek Squad's estimation for when the computer would be ready was way off, but other than that, we had a good experience with this Best Buy. read more

This is what happens when you buy major appliances from completely expendable employees with the brain power of a Roomba. Thanksgiving Night, 9PM: Dishwasher purchased, delivery and haul-away purchased, installation allegedly purchased. Key word: "allegedly." Made it extremely clear to the sales associate that I wanted to have a new dishwasher INSTALLED in my home, because I am not a goddamn plumber. She made it so with a bedazzling series of clicks and clacks on her magical sales terminal, and I was all set [allegedly], at a great Black Friday price no less! One week later, two strong men show up at my house with a dishwasher, and ask politely, "So... where do you want it?" "Uhm, I want it under my counter where the dishwasher belongs. Was that really a necessary question?" "The invoice only includes delivery, there's no mention of installation." Idiots. Three fold they have screwed me over on this one: 1. Wasting my time and my high hopes this morning with an incorrect purchase order. 2. Making me think I was getting a Black Friday deal. When I went back to the store today to voice my rage, the price was still the same. A lie by omission, and sales at its finest. 3. Snookering me out of actual Black Friday deals at other retailers [ones that might have known how to set up an installation appointment], because it is now obviously too late. Now I'm gonna get me the same dishwasher, at the same price, from a different retailer. Everything that can be purchased at Best Buy is available at better retailers, or cheaper online. Not being technology savvy at all when ever I walk into a store such as this I'm a total fish out of water and depend heavily upon someone who works there to help me navigate. Of course finding someone when you walk into Amazon's Showroom is a challenge in itself. I'm sure his place always has what I need but I normally walk out because I can never seem to find anyone to help me. Today though, got lucky because was able to to cut in quick enough to ask where to find what I was looking for, since I actually knew specifics this time it worked...a quick point and I was on my way to my coveted item. Walk to the check-out and find that abandoned as well. Ok now this is a first....3 minutes later the young lady saunters over and completes our purchase, pleasant enough. read more

We went to buy an iPad for my daughter last week - I was disappointed that the Sales Associate did not seem to care much for my daughter and I's presences, while 95% of his focus and attention was directed towards my husband (while, again, we went there to purchase something for my daughter and I'd be the one paying for it). The store is clean, pleasant'ish, but customer service can use some tweaking and massaging. The Sales Associate was more-less engaging and somewhat knowledgeable about the product - My husband and I were primarily the ones sharing options that's out in the market to compare/contrast; Have we had not done our own online research, perhaps, we would have ended up buying the wrong product based on his vague feedback and recommendations... read more

The staff member said they don't actually sell open box iPhones, then said sorry, then HUNG UP on me. I had other questions but I wasn't even given a chance to ask. I was verbally abused with racial slurs curses and belittling insults at this store, all while the GM Phil & several other male employees stood by and did nothing-absolutely nothing-to help. Yet these same employees-including the GM-had no trouble coming to the abuser's side when I was forced to defend myself against his escalating behavior. I went to this location to pick up an online order in what the store advertises as "safe contactless delivery". It is not. Two male employees who first came to my car for my order info ignored the six feet social distancing rule. They stood right outside my driver's side window (which I kept up for safety reasons) instead of going to the passenger side or standing in front of my vehicle. When they came back to verify my info the second time (because between the two of them they could not find my order) they were again starting to ignore the safety boundary so I politely reminded them. One employee gave me an attitude about that which brought the unwanted attention from another customer who immediately started yelling at me: "Calm the f*** down. If you are not sick now you won't get sick". I ignored him (as did all the employees around). When he took his insults to the next level and began with racial and belittling slurs like "fuc**** white bit**" and others just as horrible, still no one did anything. The employee helping the abuser continued helping him and just ignored his behavior. Two other employees standing nearby him & the two employees helping me stood there and acted like nothing was happening. They all just let that person hurl offensive insults, curses and racial slurs my way. Remember the rule that silence is acceptance. So the abuse continued until I fired back at the disrespectful idiot. Almost immediately one of the employees assisting me-the one who gave me the attitude about the social distancing rule-told me point blank "we'not taking your sh**" and walked away from my car. I called the store to complain to the manager. Phil got on the phone and identified himself as the GM. Then he proudly admitted he was outside when I was there, saw and heard everything that went on and not only refused to help me but told me to cancel my order because his store would not honor my business. Then he hung up on me. Oh, and it was not lost on me that all this happened 15 minutes before they closed so I am sure that had something to do with it also. It was completely disgusting beyond words. The item I was picking up was for my boss who had a corporate account with Best Buy. She has since cancelled it. It is the year 2020 yet at Best Buy they stand behind male customers who are racists and abusive to women. The GM Phil especially should be fired for teaching his employees to curse at customers and for refusing to follow social distancing in a pandemic. So the next time Best Buy has to close more stores, remember my experience. It has nothing to do with Amazon being a better retailer. But I bet an organization as socially relevant as Amazon would NEVER tolerate this type of behavior and neither would any retailer who respected women. Shout out to the customer service staff at 8:30 on Saturday night. Our son went in alone, to discuss the possibility of exchanging his Turtle Beach gaming Bluetooth headset. The staff did an amazing job listening to him, answering his questions, and helping him to replace the headset after honoring the warranty that we purchased a year-and-a-half ago.
