It's back to "walk-in", no appointment necessary. We've been to a lot of different Verizon locations, and this one by far is our favorite just due to staff. Had an issue with our phone and account and the staff was awesome in getting everything fixed. We joked and had a good time as things got completed during our account fix. We also upgraded one phone and the activation was the smoothest, and quickest ones we've ever experienced. The staff also walks EVERYONE out the door and thanks is for coming in...also something not found at other locations. Customer Service is top notch here. read more

We were told we could get new FREE PHONES on their Black Friday deal That was an out right bate and switch fraud scam!!!! I have been trying to get this fixed ever since!! I went in today with a question about my bill. There was 2 employees checking people in and when they were not checking in they stood around and chatted with the workers already helping people. There was myself and 3 other people waiting to be helped. I waited over 20 minutes for help. Very disappointing that one of those 2 guys couldn't help customers instead of just standing there. read more

My Verizon Woes I have been with the same carrier since 1995. The company has been acquired two times before Verizon finally bought the combined company. While I have seen Verizon's "bait-and-switch" tactics for years, I decided that normally the switch was almost as good as the advertised "special" and so have keep my observations to myself. My wife and I have had three lines (one for my son) for several years and for the most part things were ok. It was time for my daughter to get a line. I went in to Verizon and said I would like to add a fourth line to my account so my daughter can have a line. The sales rep said: "Oh four lines? Do you have a business?" I responded and said we did have a business, but I just needed to add a line for my daughter." I said "I see your have a free phone for anyone who adds a line or signs up for a new account," The sales rep said "Oh, you don't want to go that route! I can save you a lot by setting you up under your business." I said well ok, but all I really need is an additional line for my daughter." The sales rep said well you can go either way but with a business line you can have a free virtual number that will ring over to your cell or will circle each cell until a call is picked up, you will also get a free 5G hot spot and your monthly bill will be lower, but you need to 'buy' the additional phone but it is still cheaper over-all. After another 20 mins of back and fourth, I said ok lets go the business route. But I want EVERYTHING on one account. I do NOT want two accounts, I was very clear on this point. Verizon has entire separate sides of their customer service for residential and business, In theory this sounds good, but here-within lies the entire problem! Verizon spent the next ninety minutes getting my business account setup and added a new cell number to the account and assigned a new phone to that number. The account rep called "corporate" several times trying to figure out how to move our existing lines to the business account. I was eventually told that it was mostly switched over but he needed some tech help from corporate which they said they would call him back at the store within 4 hours. For a month life was good. While even the virtual line would not work at least all four phones worked and I paid that first months bill with some "extra equipment charges" on it. I assumed the equipment charges were the new phone for my daughter. A few weeks later I got a past due notice. I call Verizon and they said, no we see your bill has been paid. Maybe it was just a timing issue and not to worry my account was up to date. A few weeks later my daughters phone stopped working. I called the Verizon help line, they said I needed to go to the retail store and something must be wrong with the phone. When I went in to the store, I was told the phone is fine and I need to call support. Two days of trying to work with support and getting no where, I neutralized to the store. After waiting for two hours even thought I had called in for an appointment, I informed the rep that I have tried the call center and have come in already and I wanted this fixed today. We call the call center together from the store. This is when we determined that they have left both accounts active. I said I don't want two account, I was very clear on this from the start! Fix it! After trying (and failing) to move the three old lines over to the business account, I said cancel the business account. They said I would need to bring in the hot spot. I returned to Verizon retail store again wanting even though I had an appointment and started all over again with the tails of my Verizon Woes. I had the hot spot (remember I was promised a 5G router, well they sent my a LTZ with dial-up equivalent speeds) The rep told me it had been over 30 days and they could not accept the equipment back. We again call corporate from the store and corporate said to take the modem back and mark the account accordingly. The regional manager was in the store this time and "over-rode" the leave equipment order and said I needed to wait for a shipping box to be sent to me and return the equipment that way. We continued to try and fix the account and get my daughters phone to work. The rep was able to move her phone on to our residential account. I told the rep I did not feel I should be responsible for three months of service fees that I was never able to use nor ever wanted. After more calls to corporate, they said they would wave all but $200 of the old bill, I said I still don't feel that I should be responsible for the $200. The rep said that corporate would have to make that call and could clear out the charge but it might take ten days. The rep was able to work some more magic with the account and get all four phones working. I left the store with the understanding that the only unresolved billing item was a $200 equipment charge. read more

Bought an S9 on Black Friday. The rep couldn't get the glass on properly that day, nor did he have the correct charger for the bundle I bought. He indicated to come back within 14 days and they will get it all fixed up for me. Came back a week later and they wouldn't touch the glass and wanted me to go through the manufacturer. They didn't swap out the charger because I didn't have the paper receipt. Went to the store on 16th Street and they fixed the glass and swapped out the charger. (They looked up my Black Friday purchase online and that was good enough to swap it out.) Forget this store. Just go to the south store at 1190 16th St SW. They actually provide customer service after the sale. read more

I have been here twice. Both times the "account specialist" who waited on me, once they learned I wasn't planning to drop a lot of $ on a new phone, were very unhelpful with my issue. The first time I took my problem to a manager and he was super helpful and got it straightened out. The second time I was in to get a sim card for a new phone I had purchased elsewhere (Verizon did not carry the phone I wanted.) The clerk said they don't carry sim cards that fit phones they don't stock...this is an out and out lie. There are basically three types of sim cards, standard, micro and nano that pretty much all phones use. I would have asked to talk with the manager, but my husband didn't want the hassle, so we just left. read more

We went to this store at 8:00 PM with the slim hopes that we could purchase a new phone AND transfer a phone to a different line AND change our account before their 9:00PM close time. We were put into the queue, were able to leave for a quick bite of dinner and then came back around 8:45. Tim and Jess stayed 45 minutes late to help us out. Friendly staff, good service. read more

Incompetent and lazy employees that played dumb on a supposed problem on switching my number and my business from AT&T to them. They took over 24 hours "working on it", while the entire time, the manager kept trying to pass the buck rather than just solve the problem. I ended up just giving up after they told me they would get it solved right away and call me back, and after waiting 5 hours with no call, I went to another store. At the other store I was greeted warm and promptly, an employee got started right away, and I was all set and on my way in under 4 MINUTES!!!! So in short, I recommend Verizon, but any other store would serve you better than the employees of this Marketplace Drive store. read more

We were in a tough spot with a broken cell phone. The phone was on another contract which we believed would create problems with a transfer. Dain, the Verizon employee who helped us explained what needed to be done, helped us select a phone and transferred all the data from the broken phone. Terrible service. Very pushy salespeople. Went to purchase a smart phone and service was so bad that we left and went to Best Buy. They only wanted to sell me the most expensive phone they had along with a multitude of accessories and insurance.
