I'll say, I know the general public is full of completely tech illiterate people who need the simplest things explained to them three or four times in increasing detail, and take forever because they have nothing better to do, but the employees are not helping. Every time the finish up with someone, they just stand there on their phone or disappear into the back. By my estimation, the average person has taken 10 - 15 minutes start to finish to "help", then there's another 10 - 15 minutes for the employee to call another name after that. They need a dedicated return equipment line. To the poor individual who replies to all of these reviews, I don't want to see your vapid and hopeless attempt at reconciliation, I don't have any social media, so I won't be DMing you anywhere. Your solution is making an appointment, but my Internet went down in the middle of the night and I had to work all day. If my equipment became outdated because of your update, I should be able to waltz in and have a new one reasonably quickly. I pay a lot of money for this often lackluster Internet service, because of course, they're the only game in town and can be as pathetic as they want. I highly recommend any possible competitors if they are available in your area. Spectrum, and charter before that have always been a blood sucking company only concerned with taking as much money from their customers as possible.

After I asked to speak to a supervisor, Amber was magically able to find the tracking number. Apparently the FedEx website was "down" when she initially looked the tracking number up. It's an ongoing battle where the winner will have the best price (lowest price) and greatest service (fastest broadband speed as well as highest number of channels). If you are considering one or the other, look into prices for both and use the price of the competing company as leverage. On numerous accounts, people have brought the package deal from one competing company to the other only to have it matched or beaten. Eventually one will stay firm but not before you're pleased of what you're receiving for the price you're paying. Beware though. There are many hidden costs to both. For example, after negotiating our TV and internet bill down to $30/month, my buddy and I were surprised to find out that Charter had failed to mention the $30 fee for transporting and setting up the wireless router (something I could have done in 5 minutes). Also, many of the packaged deals require you to sign contracts for several months. If you're only there for 3 or 4 months at a time, ask for pay-for-service contracts. Charter's internet service wasn't too bad. There were 3 people (computers and smart phones each) logged onto our server at all times and never once did I feel as if our internet lagged. I believe we purchased to 2 mb/s broadband speed package. The TV channels are a different story. Charter may boast that you're getting 40 channels. However, 10 of them are advertising channels (full-screen nonanimated advertisements/billboards 24/7), 10 of them don't work, and many are replicated. For example, Fox sports net was on channels 6, 13, and 27.1. Don't be fooled by the numbers. Ask for exactly which channels you'll be getting (networks, not numbers) and research ahead of time. Recommendation: If you need internet to get through your day, BUY! If not, try to bargain with neighbors ($5/month to jump onto their wireless router, etc.) or get by with your smart phone.

That is no longer the case. I don't want to even go into the Best Buy store anymore, let alone use the technical services. I purchased a Dell Inspirin 16 from Best Buy in the summer of 2024. A couple of weeks ago the screen would lock and when I shut down, the keyboard wouldn't work until I had put in a 48 digit bitlock code. I made an appointment with the Geek Squad at the Saginaw Best Buy on November 20th and explained the problem I was having. Since I was going to be out of town, I stated I would pick up the computer on Monday, November 24th. When I picked up the computer, the lady explained what they had done to repair the problem and wished me good luck on my Zoom call on Tuesday morning. When I returned home and turned on the computer, I found that the keyboard was nonfunctioning. I called to let them know about the problem, and when I didn't receive a call back, I drove back to Saginaw with the computer. I explained that I had tried to call and the younger man at the counter said "And what did they say?" Since they didn't call back, I explained the problem. He said, "What do you want me to do about it?" This phrase was used repeatedly throughout our discussion and he said it couldn't be fixed until Microsoft fixed the problem. I asked why I hadn't been told that the keyboard wasn't working when I picked up the computer. When I asked for an apology, he laughed at me. I asked to speak to a manager, and he said he didn't know who was available. I again asked for a manager. He placed a call, and within a short time a manager came to the counter. He reviewed the work order that I had received, plugged in a keyboard, and attempted to download the keyboard drive. The keyboard still didn't work on the laptop. I asked if there was anything I could do to use the computer, and he suggested that I purchase a stand-alone keyboard, which I did.
